Despite the cliché on the summary, this story is really good. The characters feelings and actions are realistic and really appropriate, this is the kind of story where you'll always be satisfied at every chapter.

I really liked this story. Although there are very obvious issues like the perpetuation of toxic gender stereotypes, for a society so heavily sexually repressed, to be able to express a gay relationship in a loving and near-alright way is enough for me. I somewhat dislike the fact that they rushed through foreplay for their first time (thus, ending up hurting the bottom), it is a web novel so I'm happy enough that it was translated.

TLDR: If you can stomach the gender stereotypes and focus on the love and wholesomeness... more>> of their relationship (sans the gender stereotype and the stereotyping of gong or shou personalities), it's basically fine. Keep in mind, this is a piece of fiction; no need to get your knickers in a twist. Tysm to the TLs for such a phenomenal job of translating this story. Million kudos from me! <<less

I don't quite understand the 1* rating.. This novel is fun and cute ❤️ I like dark/heavy bl novels (like Brother or Profundis), but sometimes I want to have a good time with a good 'light' novel, and this one is pretty good ! :)

Loved loved loved this novel so much! I’ve honestly been putting this on hold for a while now and the tab I had pulled up of this story was never opened and was buried for a few months... I finally gave it a chance and absolutely have no regrets. The only thing I regret is not reading this sooner.

The main leads are amusing and so adorable. The MC has a hot and cold personality, he’s super cute and tough all at once, but also mature when he needs to be.... more>> The ML is a sweet loyal dog that is really accommodating towards to MC, albeit he has a bit of a teasing nature. I adore their relationship and interactions.

It was so hilarious and endearing watching them slowly get close through their agreement. They softened around each other without realizing and mutually few in love through their days together. It does seem a bit silly that these two were so dedicated to completing all 30 days, but I think they had gotten so comfortable with each other that the main objective of “getting revenge on society” was totally discarded.

I think one thing I hadn’t expected from this comedy-filled novel was the angst. This bit is spoiler-y so be warned. By the time the main leads fell for one another, they had already developed a sense of insecurity about the others feelings, since the 30-day agreement was coming to an end. It was heartbreaking reading as the MC and ML hid away in fear because of their doubts. I think the thing that pained me the most was when the MC had worked up the confidence to confess, but was met with the ML telling him that he had decided to get with a girl before MC could tell him his feelings. The ML had done this to attempt to break away from the “taboo” feelings he had for the MC, but he unknowingly broke the MC’s heart and sealed his decision to move to Taiwan for school. This led to a four year separation, but they thankfully swiftly repaired their relationship after the MC came back. They became so sweet after this, it could be seen that they still thought of only each other after the MC left.

This novel is such a sweet, hilarious, and just beautiful danmei. One issue I did feel a little iffy about was how much the MC was obsessed with gong-shou (top-bottom) dynamics. This is a really common idea in China, that being to bottom makes someone less of a man or more feminine. Of course this isn’t true, but I understand why the MC was written like this, no one is perfect and this idea of masculinity and femininity is very prevalent in China, especially since he was written as a previously straight man. Be aware that some of the MC’s conceptions on homosexuality are outdated and could be uncomfortable to read.

Overall, I really recommend this danmei novel, the main leads have the sweetest dynamic and their interactions are so beautifully written. <<less

The leads are very cute together. It was fun to read. Dropped this so many times but I decided to finished it now it was really good. MC that more acts like a gong than a shou (based on typical gong in cn novels) is quite fun to see and ML that loves to pampered his shoushou is so adorable.

So I still have 10 more chapters to go, but I really wanted to write a review on this one, so I won't forget. :)

Things I disliked:

  • the whole 'gay couple' being viewed as if it's different from a normal hetero one. Like come on, it's the same, it's just that the society may treat it differently.
  • the shou and gong thing - I don't know man, it's just that they are so fixed on the importance of who's the top and who's the bottom... however I found it quite funny most of the time, since them too were like hahaha lol about it later on.
  • I am not sure if I should mension it here, but I really hate the 'I was straight, until I met ----', bacause I find it quite unrealistic most of time. MC at the start is literally like

    I'm not sure what to think of their s*xual orientation anymore is what I'm trying to say - that's all.
Things I liked:

  • The main characters - at first, both MC and ML seemed quite boring, I mean there wasn't really much about them, but it got better really quickly!! I wished the autor worked on the character devolopment a bit more - especially the other side characters, since there is literally nothing about them...
  • The time skip. I normally dislike time skips, but this one was really needed, and it was really nice to see!
  • The translatation.
  • The fact that this is so quick and easy to read and is bout humorous and sad.

This is really sweet. I cried a lot while reading this but it made me laugh too. The MC and ML were pretending to be boyfriends but they got used to it and eventually stopped pretending and actually were boyfriends. The misunderstandings they had and all the trials of society and figuring out what they actually felt were so hard. I was sobbing near the end of it.

At first, this book was very funny and silly. Silly to the point that I thought it could never show anything real. I mean, the leads are practically on crack lol. But then a few chapters later, what I thought was silly in the book, I started adoring it and I'm sure many would feel the same.

The leads are cute and though they don't have an in-depth character, they are fresh and it's very engaging to read them sort through their feelings for each other. I thought this was just some light hearted fluffy novel, didn't think that at one point it would squeeze my heart out and leave me crying one time and another time, for a love I have yet to experience. Honestly, those part wasn't really that tearjerking, but it was painful and one could even say the reason for their falling out is so shallow. Yet, it still managed to make me give out my emotions.

First, thanks to fakeluff for completing the translation. Muah~~~

This is a sweet story about two handsome guys (who believe they are straight) falling in love. MC and ML are kind people. They are male gods of their university but are very down to earth. The competition between them is funny. No "cold and aloof" protags here. The ML is silly at times and MC just goes along with him. The 4 year separation took me by surprise. Thankfully, there is no angst. Did they suffer? Yes. But the author doesn't... more>> give lengthy melodramatic descriptions of their suffering. MC and ML suffer, remain true to each other and get back together.

Overall, its a light novel. Sweet with no angst. Do not expect logic. Just go with the flow. <<less

It's cute and heartwarming, really. Fun and enjoyable story. Of course it's predictable and not a big spoiler to say they fall in love. However, the process is well written and at times funny. Both Wang Guangning and Zhang Lingyi are likable characters but I especially liked ZL's enthusiastic and childlike personality.

There is a time skip of four years. This happened after their agreement ended. WG was going to confess to ZL but saw that ZL had started dating someone already. WG was traumatized and went to Taiwan (via a student exchange). He didn't come back until four years later due to work.

ZL did have feelings for WG but he didn't understand them. He also didn't know WG liked him. So ZL agreed to date his classmate who had liked him for three years. However, they broke up after a month because ZL was obsessed with trying to get in touch with WG. WG had cut off contact with everyone once he went to Taiwan.

After WG came back, they were both more active in getting closer to the other... and eventually the connection was made both emotionally and physically.

This was a great story that definitely fed into my need for enemies to lovers and rivalry type romance stories. There was also many times throughout the story that I genuinely laughed out loud. One the other hand, the one thing I wish this novel did better was to have more interesting and fleshed out side characters.

This was SUPER FUN!!!

The story is about the two most gorgeous and narcissistic boys of the uni that hate each other and compete for everything.

After being publicly neglected by the prettiest university's girl they decided to fale to be gay for 30 days as revenge to the universe (?) and also so the people could think they were not seriously in that girl. (their pride...-_-)

This part is sooooo funny! They download a list from internet of things a couple would do together and make one of them everyday for... more>> that month faking to be together.

The last part of the book is a little more profound that expected but really beautiful! Loved the characters so much!!! <<less

It's a story about two extremely narcissistic boys who have a really stereotypical view of homosexuality, and ironically, they fall in love with each other. At the beginning, I really thought that MC's and ML's IQ and logic were questionable; they did a lot of s*upid things, but exactly because of those things, I saw their true colors.

In order to pretend that they are a couple, MC and ML decided to do things that couples do, so they created a list and set tasks for themselves. All of those tasks... more>> they did helped them to really know and understand each other and also created beautiful memories. Their actions, which at first seemed silly, became sweet and heartwarming. There are misunderstandings, yet it's really short and light reading, mostly funny except for one chapter, which was heartbreaking. But it was really pleasant reading. I loved it and recommend it to readers who are searching for light and fluffy reading. <<less

Doting Puppy x Arrogant, Lovable Tsundere

This novel was simple and sweet love story. It held a bit of drama and had stereotypical shou and gong roles but it was charming. Honestly with Chinese bl novels you get shou and gong roles fixed a lot and it is something you have to get over if you want to read bl.

There is not r*** or dubious consent and the couple truly seem to value and love one another (though it takes a while after fake dating). While the characters bicker about their... more>> roles it is never a truly putting someone down (they joke and bicker about it) for taking the shou role.

Super funny, this novel was better than I expected. It's a bit of idiot plot and you shouldn't read too much into things but I enjoyed reading this a lot.

The main characters were super funny and I liked the relationship between them, both of them were smart but made questionable decisions, the agreeing to date as revenge to society, it literally made no sense and they weren't doing it properly half the time but it was super funny.

The pacing was fast because the novel isn't that long but I think... more>> it was okay, and it made sense for the characters.

I actually liked the ending, it was a very nice happy ending. Don't expect anything deep or dramatic, there's light angst and some misunderstandings but everything is resolved nicely.

Worth reading and easy to read again because it's short. The story is quite entertaining and good for a one day read. <<less
