As tragedy befalls Xin Siyue, she soon finds herself transmigrated into a novel world as a character. To her disappointment, she became the villainess who obsessively chased after the male protagonist while scheming to tear apart his relationship with his beloved.

To avoid her death route, Xin Siyue carefully avoided the male and female protagonists at every turn. Instead, she went off on her own to enjoy life. But somewhere along the way, she made a mistake– the male protagonist took notice of her!

Xin Siyue’s eyes teared up as she was being kissed in Chen Sinan’s arms. ‘No! This wasn’t in the plot!’

I'm still wavering between 3-star and 4-star, so I leave the rating empty. I feel it's closer to 4-star.

There are countless stories out there of which transmigration happens due to silly reason to no reason at all (say hello to our old friend, Truck-kun). This story, surprisingly, doesn't transmigrate random person into random book. It provides solid background why the supranatural event chooses MC as its victim; why she is transmigrated into a villainess with tragic ending. It even explains why ML's personality is so cliche (overbearing CEO). In my... more>> opinion, the provided explanations are quite acceptable. And for this point alone, this story deserves 4-star.

I also love FL and her (novel) family members, especially the overprotective big brother. The way he adores his sister doesn't feel creepy at all. He's just a normal brother who happens to possess authority.

ML is okay. I don't hate him since he doesn't actually do anything bad to original body owner. He holds prejudice against her since she acts likes crazy stalker. To be fair, when he turns into persistant pursuer, MC also holds prejudice against him.

What makes me waver is the romantic development during the first half of this story. Of only it is writen more eanderingly, I believe we can wholeheartedly root for the ship to sail (storytelling is important, yo!!). Sadly, it's not the case. The second half makes up for this, though. <<less

i can get past the shameless ml. Unlike most others, I find their development as a couple valid. Not everyone is going to fall in love with flowers and glitter effects in the background. The original host of our MC was awful and chased after our ML relentlessly. Of course our ML wanted to get away from her like the plague! She was so rotten! But since our fl's soul has changed, our ML began to notice her more and more until he became infatuated with her. That infatuation turned... more>> into love, and our FL reciprocated, especially after realising that her prejudice was unjustified and that the novel had changed.

the story could have been delivered better, but I like the story for what it is. It's like filler for when your main web novels don't have any new chapters out. My only issue is that the FL feels a little lackluster. I wish she could have bloomed more and made more of her connections to rise on the social ladder, but she's done well regardless. The FL and ml's conversations are a bit boring, and I would have preferred more substance, but maybe that's just down to priority on the author's list of content to write. <<less

<Start of rant>

I like it. I honestly like it. But I'm already sick with s*upidly silent and cool protagonist. I can't do anything about it. Liking someone when someone changed is really annoying from my perspective. I get why he likes her (I mean... she's a different person on the inside). And that girl should have make things clear that she doesn't like ML instead of skirting around the issue (I'm also looking at ML while writing this).

<End of rant>

Plot-wise, its good. If you enjoy this kind of transmigrating story... more>> (with all the cliche), you probably like it.

Characters, like-able (but too cliche for me). Solid, but character development is reactive. MC and ML lacks initiative to search what they want. Probably change in the future, but I can't read this anymore unless I force myself.

Chapter-length, Satisfying. Chapter-number, good enough.

All in all, I probably will return to finish this when I forgot all the cliche-ness. <<less

When I'm writing this review I'm at chapter 48 (the raw version), where they are already dating each other.

Truthfully, I enjoyed reading this novel, pretty much. I can understand why a lot of the reviews say something like "Can the MC stop avoiding/bickering with the ML?" Just look at the title, it's true, almost 30+ chapter she tried to avoid him. But I can understand why she did all of that, I mean, hey if your life is in danger ofc you'll do your best to avoid it.

I don't eonjoy... more>> stories where the MC and ML already in relationship meanwhile the remaining chapter are still 50++. Imagine what will happen next?! DRAMA. So I decided to skip to the last chapter
Spoiler

I found out that our MC is in coma and the 2nd FL is still trying to pursuing the ML. Sick.

[collapse]

I think you will enjoy reading this story if you LOVE drama. This novel should have a drama adaptation, I know people will like it.

But for someone like me, with fragile heart, I just can't continue to reading it. I stopped at chapter 47 where things are still in the right road. Please, just give it a try :) <<less

This story is so refreshing! The villain is so likeable as she turned 360 degrees and the slice of life of campus life and situation is so vividly decribed. As the author slowly and patiently unravel the story bit by bit, our understanding of the characters deepened. Eventhough its slowly unravel the plot is constantly progressing forward.
    1. The thing I like for this story is that our MC is not labelled as genius and prodigy who borrowing halo's power all the time. Instead she is using resources and she humanly have. It robs so much logic and fun when the MC is labelled as genius and things just happened like sun rises in the east.
I'm glad that I found the story by accident and not even checking the rating!

Give it a try, I especially recommend it to a reader who enjoy slow burning story like me.

In fact im now hunting more modern theme story!

BEWARE of SPOILER

It's a 118 chapters story split into two parts for translation. The story progressed to my liking until chapter 135 part 2 according to translation. I'm going to share a part of the review by Tutubitter on NU because it's what I was thinking. Great minds think alike I think.

"A series of two narrow-minded fools' infinite counter of "you never try to understand me" whilst not trying to understand the other. Speak one-sidedly, think one-sidedly, and act one-sidedly. They push their opinion on each other but don't actually try to be considerate of the other. They're both good at their profession (as told in the story that they are successful) but d*mb as f*ck when it comes to each other."

I didn't know what I was thinking trying to push forward until the end. The story should end while readers still like it but, the writer decided to pile on multiple antagonists and their schemes to catapult the story.

Chen Sinan, the ML, kind of proposed to Xin Siyue, the MC, and she rejected the idea because it was too early and she was not mentally ready. First of all, they worked and lived in two different cities. Even if they got married, that's not going to change anytime soon unless the ML forced the MC to resign. Second, they couldn't be together all the time if they were not married as boundaries and such. And so, marriage was a good solution for the ML to have a concrete excuse to be with the MC.

When your man proposed, it meant he was serious. If you still need time to think even after that, then end the relationship so that he can pursue someone else who's ready.

This was disappointing. It's not very romantic. As a reader, you are so convinced the MC doesn't want anything to do with the ML, but everyone else no matter what she does thinks she's still obsessed with him.

The ML is incredibly overbearing. I don't understand why he's interested in MC at all? He never listens to anything she says or wants and just physically overpowers her to get what he wants. (Too many red flags with this guy)

I came for romance. Where is it??

Honestly, it's not that bad but it seemed incomplete? Don't worry, it's not about the main couple but rather about one of ML's bestfriend, Mo Bei. Other couple got their happy ending but only Mo Bei's story was left hanging.

As for the main couple, many were unsatisfied with either MC or ML or both of them. As for me, I didn't have any particular impression, whether it's like or dislike for both of them. Surely, they're not perfect but wasn't that what made the characters be more realistic?

Spoiler

After transmigrating, MC really did what the novel title said, she avoided ML as if he was a plague. Of course the reason was she just wanted to preserve her life because she will have a bad ending if she kept pestering ML like in the original story.

Meanwhile, ML was left baffled because MC suddenly avoided him after chasing him relentlessly for so many years. He started to notice her and slowly got interested in her. Maybe one of the cause was MC's avoidance that hurted his pride but I think that it's not the only cause. MC was obviously a different person. She had a different demeanor, style, and personality from the original Xin Siyue so I think it's understandable that ML was interested in the "new" her.

As for ML's old flame, Sheng Wenyang, I don't think he really loved her in the original story. It's more like he found her passable and tolerable more than the other woman that he had ever met so he just went along with her and even made her his partner.

[collapse]

What I love about this story:

Spoiler
  • The author gave almost all side characters their happy ending (excpet the poor Mo Bei) including ML's pitiful doppelganger, Chen Junxing.
  • Although it's a bit sad, the author tied the loose end in MC's original world so when she came back to the novel world, she no longer had any ties in that world. I'm talking about MC's original mom's death.
  • ML wasn't a chauvinist man. He supported MC's career wholeheartedly even when they had to do a long distance relationship. Also, when MC had a baby, she wanted to resign from her job because her baby was so clingy to her and ML but ML didn't want her to sacrifice her dream and he finally was the one who made a time to take care of the baby after working.

The story was great halfway. Decided to stop before the plot gets more complicated. I loveeee the way MC tried her best to avoid ML. I was so thoroughly satisfied with her determination. Part of the reason I gave it 5stars. The ML acted like a douche when he started to realise his feelings n courted MC. But later on it gets better... Actually they are quite a sensible couple. The current rating was too low. Reading up to now was quite satisfying to me. Idk what happen on later... more>> chapters. <<less

Cliché plot, and the writing gave me brain cancer.

Edit: I would've given it 1-2 stars, but ended up giving 3 because the translation was good. Kudos to the translation team for finishing this novel ❤️

Note to self — the beginning where ML and FL gets together was interesting to read but once they get together it’s kind of boring. Stopped at 181 because I didn’t want to waste time finishing the novel. Fun if you’re seriously bored with nothing better to do lol

It's honestly the best transmigration novel so that I've read so far.

the beginning is definitely rocky with how pushy the ML acted, but once I've read further and enveloped myself deeper to the story, it made me realize that MC acting as he did WAS the only way to attain the MC's hearts. MC is a career-driven person and she never paid the ML any attention. If ML was passive, the power dynamics between the two wouldn't be as strong. In a way, this novel reminds me of the chemistry... more>> in Doppio Senso (Power couple).

I love the story progression, how natural things flow, and basically how they slowly built up the tension. While the plot twist may not be as surprising, but they do add depth and purpose to the plot progression. Overall, I really recommend reading this novel if you love a strong, independent FL that is decisive and firm. ML is a side dish lmao. <<less

I don't know why people keep saying the MC is s*upid. She is average to above average intelligent. Yes, she isn't a super soldier or hacker or any other crazy OP traits that macs have, but she has common sense. When she first enters the book, she acts with the attitude that things will happen like they are written, so just avoid the problem and stay safe. She does all kinds of things to keep away from the ML and they are all things that people would really do. She... more>> does what she thinks is right and stays focused on avoiding trouble. As time goes on, she notices how things are changing and so she adapts and starts to realise what she really wants. The ML is the stereotypical cold jerk that novels have, but because she is different, he become a different. What is different in this novel compared to most others is that this couple communicate. If there is a problem. If they have a concern. All the s*upid misunderstandings that happen in other stories don't happen because they actually talk to eachother! It is so frustrating when a couple can avoid a huge misunderstanding by just saying something as simple as I am upset. The girl that loves you said this to me. Etc.

Some of the guys in this story do have some possessive or assault type behaviour where they surprise kiss a girl and she gets angry and then obviously they later end up together. But it is few and far between and also fits with the way the original novel was written.

I liked this. I found the characters interesting and the connections between friends and family varied and while not new or dynamic, they felt more "real". Most of the characters, or atleast the ones that are likeable are self aware enough of their desires and the effects the actions they take have. Regret and guilt over trying to make the girl you like jealous. Not confirming that someone likes you back before trying to achieve something so you can be together. Realising that just because you like someone, doesn't mean they will like you back.

There is no revenge or big, dramatic fights between women fighting over a man. It's got more of an everyday life with bits of drama and fantasy in the mix.

I found this story kind of refreshing. I didn't get frustrated with the characters, which is a plus.

The translation is well done.

There are about 100 or so chapters missing in the end. They got transferred to a different site which is now gone, so you will have to Google to find them, <<less

I didnt find the ML stalkerish at all. He was definitely pushy and egoistic enough to be sure MC would reciprocate his feelings tho. What makes me not think of him as stalkerish is that the MC is trying to get away from ML because she fears for her life and wellbeing but she actually admires and likes him. Shes just denying it to protect herself. She realizes later that she was being unfair to him as he had not hurt her yet and she is different from the original... more>> cannon fodder and admits to herself that she likes him.

Its a sweet story in my opinion. <<less

I'm glad I decided to ignore the reviews and rating and start this novel, I actually started to enjoy it and became addicted reading 76 chapters in one night. The ML really isn't as bad as the reviews and comments make it seem, he seems rather cute at times actually, almost coming off as a arrogant asshat (He came off a hilarious arrogant asshat to me) that's bad with his emotions, maybe my standards are to low towards chinese ml's but he's really not that bad and may actually... more>> be a better one of the overbearing ceo's.

I also think the ML became interested not because she stopped stalking and harassing him as one person described as "you chase me I ignore you you stop chasing me I chase after you" but due to having a very slight curiosity and I mean slight, in the obvious changes when our FL took over the old ones body, many coincidences also happen to bring them together time after time ML FL halo?Which contributes to him taking more notice of her. He doesn't even seem that interested in her in the first half only slightly more up to where I read
Spoiler

Always tells his friends to stop mentioning her to him because he doesn't really care

[collapse]
And has a whatever attitude towards her avoiding him like the plague, then proceeding to want nothing to do with her as she seems to want the same but circumstances keep bringing them together.

I think what contributes to such a bad rating is the readers becoming biased against the ML from reading the comments on the novel updates page or the ones under the chapters that just have a circle jerk of hate and overall negativity towards the ML blowing his actions and attitude way out of proportion, I even found my view towards him being slightly affected but when I thought about it more he really wasn't that bad.
Spoiler

him destroying her family and life in the original story also seems to leave a bad taste in readers mouths when he only did it in retaliation to original MC causing him and original FL soon to be child to die in a miscarriage. How would you feel in his position? I'd be pissed to honestly, but he didn't have to bring original mc's family into it or take it that far but his child was killed and original FL was hospitalised🤷‍♀️

[collapse]
It seems they are also holding him to the same standard of a real life man when he is just a fictional character in a novel with big glaring tags of male yandere and possessive characters which most readers seeing by the reviews and comments did not bother to read.

Spoiler

there's only been and inkling? To the male yandere side with the jealousy showing every once in a while but he still isn't that interested towards her yet only slightly more at this point

[collapse]

I only found him annoying once or twice in the first half of the novel but other times was mostly spent trying to understand him and his thought processes
Spoiler

he really seems to like drama 🤣 and was slightly salty that she started to avoid him feeling she was fickle💀 they're never on the same wave length either it's like ML thinks FL is a mind reader or something

[collapse]
I find him quite an interesting character not hating him as most readers seem to have basically from chapter 1 without even knowing the character yet.

All I can say is to try reading it going in with an open mind as the first half of the story could be said to be slightly annoying honestly, and read towards at least chapter 54 and make a decision to continue to read or not after that because the story gets much more interesting and fun to read in the later half. Mind the tags though if your not into male yanderes turn back it's a con to some but pro to me
Spoiler

I find his attitude when he was being unreasonable at times hilarious (spotted Xia Qiao randomly lightly touching fl's elbow and was salty about it 😂) but others may not

If I could vote 3.5 I would.

This story is pretty okay. ML is a creepy stalker but he never does anything unforgivable, so according to my low, low standards after all these chinese MLs I've been seeing he's fine.

MC is great. She doesn't take MLs sh*t (most of the time) and focuses on her own life and career. Until Plot eventually makes her give him a chance that is, but he mellowed out a lot from how creepy and kinda r*pey he was acting so I'm fine with it. I... more>> do wish she'd consider calling the cops at least once when he's constantly grabbing her for forceful rides to work, or when he forces himself into her apartment, or when he steals her key.... (Man all these bad chinese novels have really lowered my standards)

The only bad thing about MC is the big idiotball she has about going around alone as a rich mildly famous person dating (or being persued by) a much richer more famous guy, who has already gone survived like 2-3 mu*der attempts.

(Note also that the person responsible for the first mu*der attempt, on the original host, straight up confessed to her face that she was the one who did it, and MC never told anyone, not the guy trying to date her, not her mom or dad, not even her overprotective older brother. Just uh, let this lunatic that shoved her down the stairs keep plotting mu*der, even after the next mu*der attempt, or the mu*der/injury/discrediting attempt, or the attempt on her parents. Nah the person who tried to kill me once already and told me so to my face couldn't have anything to do with that, I shouldn't bother the people investigating all these mu*ders with something like that.)

TLRD; Love the MC, her idiotball not so much, can tolerate ML. 3.5 stars. <<less

The ML really has some issues. Why is he humiliating the FL when she pursued him but suddenly fell for her when she decided to avoid him (I found the clue on the novel and it's basically the ML felt that something is missing when the FL stopped pursuing him and then he started to pursue her)

I will tell you all, that this story is so goodddd.. First of all, I just live to see how the FL try to avoid the ML at first and how the ML chasing her for a years.

Others than that, the ML and the FL's parent in novel know that she is not the original one, but still accept her.

The ending of the story is good as the author include the story of the male side and female side, and it not just about one pair but on a few... more>> pair. I love to read that although the side story is short. Although, I would love the author to include the story of her daughter too. <<less
