MC is not a yandere, who added a yandere tag here, he is just an evil person to evil people. I love how he is a green flag even in this ancient setting. ML's personality is a compliment to his evil personality. This story is like a light breeze in the evening and can be read without much effort.

The story is so warm. Just nice to binge read in a go (which I did😅) I rarely review novels I read so this says a lot. For those seeking complex stories, this one is not for you😤. Don't go complaining if you don't find what you seek for!

Although the premise is a bit cliché and predictable, it's not a bad thing. The characters were interesting and entertaining to read about. I just have one complaint; I wanted to read more about the Shi Dis and Xiao Yue Heng story. I felt it's a pity not to know more about those 3. Overall, a good read to pass the time.

I really enjoyed it!! Worth reading if you want fluff and a bit off plot.

MC is quite a clasical MC in a wuxia, still cute tho

ML on the other hand, was a surprice, he was weak, pitifull, small and just like a puppy almost and a Saint btw but all in all he wasnt anoying..? He was Smart when he had to be, ruthless when he had to be and strong when it was nescesary... Honestly one of my favorite gers in all the books ive read

The villans... more>> where there and the plot is interesting in the sense that there is plot... Like it isnt just farming, bussines and food, this has some sustance and is quite enterteining even tho it is predictable. <<less

If you don't like a pushover ML and an author who keeps trying to milk the same villain to pester the MC and ML then don't read this novel because good god I'm getting frustrated on how many times do they have to make the cousin keep reappearing and why they just didn't cut the root of the problem to prevent it from growing. Also the personality of the ML is irritating, makes me want to root for the villain to succeed and steal MC instead as to show ML... more>> that if he keeps that weak act of his he'll be facing the consequences

edit: ML just redeem himself but if you can tolerate his weak attitude for the first 30+ chapters then you can read this novel to pass time... (nevermind he didnt redeem himself, his only character is being beautiful, being oh so still attached to his cousin's family and a damsel distress)

I'm more interested at the side couple's story at least they're more interactive and less stressful to read than the main couple <<less

I'm giving it 5 starts because so far the story was Great and Satisfying.

ML is no pushover. Since he marry MC, his Character growth is Splendid!!! The Supporting Characters aka MC and ML's friends, Absolutely Soooooooo Goooood!!!! The Side CP is CUTE AND WE LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!

MC though... So far his characteristic is Top Notch. He's more than just Black-belly. ... more>>

He's Straight-up Yandere! He doesn't have problem being Cruel toward people who deserve it. And showing or telling what he did to his Friends and Wife. He is very good to his Friends and is Loving toward ML and would never hurt him! ML also handle MC's personality/cruelity pretty well. Since it's not placed wrongly.

I really don't want to be mean, but this is ju:t not up to my taste, currently in chapter 18 and instead of enjoying it, Im just filled with constant anxiety. I'm planning on dropping it after knowing what happened, but I don't know, maybe I should give it a chance. I just don't like it when I feel very anxious while reading, it makes me stay to read more yes, but Its really obnoxious.

Edit; I just got with the anxiety inducing chapters and decided, I might give it a... more>> chance. I hope I wasn't too harsh with my comment, I really don't like being harsh, since writing is really hard and I can tell hard work is put into it

I get the phrase 'no one falls in love at first sight with someone else's personality'--- but, it's also somewhat tiring to see a plot progress with a transmigrator falling in love with a 'cute', 'beautiful', 'intriguing' one the day they Transmigrate or move to the country side in this case.

Yes, I found this story enjoyable, but not refreshing after reading -transmigration of mian, transmigrating into the ancient times with Lu's convenience etc, .

Yes, I understand the mentality that such 'tragic' pasts were common in the ancient times but... more>> really, what time wasn't? Besides, is every antagonist ger really that s*upid to keep pining to an already taken tree? <<less

It's your typical slice of life novel in ancient times, and that's not bad lol. Actually I think it's better than other novels with this kind of setting because it actually has likeable secondary characters. If anything I would say the end was kinda rushed, but I like it overall

Very entertaing read for pass the time, the story itself is very fluffy and from gong pov

Totally recommend to read this story, very cute, fluffy and relaxing. The conflict is not very heavy, definitely reread again!

It was entertaining, but a bit predictable. There were a couple of loose ends as well, the author forgot a couple of the side plots hahaha

The translations, I'd say it feels kinda like MTL in terms of coherence and formatting (the translator doesn't know how to use the annotations in more than half of the story), But they did say it was their first time translating, it's just a pet peeve for me.

The story is very unremarkable, now that I'm writing this. But it's a nice way to pass the... more>> time.

I kinda like the black-bellied tag though, this is how I want it executed. Black-bellied to others, but sweet to ML <<less

An ok story, it was nice to read and the side CP were so cute! A little cliché but amusing. The He family was really awfull and they got their retribution, the best part is that the MC didnt have to do much because they brought their own ruin by themselves (and what he did... wow, the black belly tag its accurate)

I felt bad for the sisters in laws, specially Liu, she was r*ped and then got k*lled, He Zhen is really the worst character in the story.

I dont really like when characters get r*aped as revenge, nobody deserves that. Even He Zhen got r*aped by an old man who he was forced to marry when he was only 15 years old (ugh, disgusting). At least Qi Yue didnt have to do anyting with that.

Ah, thank god the romance and wedding is early, ML's family was already unbearable since the start and they appeared every chapter before the couple tied the knot.

It's all sweet sweet life after the wedding uwu

Though I do agree with other reviewers that the author focused too much on characters I don't want to read about (side characters, the villains, etc). They're already annoying to read but when I thought that the author was finally finished with them, they appeared again the next chapter ughhh

Every sentences have exclamation marks! It made me so uncomfortable! A tender and heart warming moment became a weird sentences! Bcs I read with intonation (?) rhythm (?) to set up the atmosphere of the novel, i've to somewhat programming my brain to remove all the exclamation marks by default!

"He Ling looked into his eyes, and seemed to be drowning in that tenderness!" (Copied)

ARGHHH!

Also, idk if it's bcs of the weird usage of exclamation marks or anything else, but the flow story is so weird! The shou is so dumb! Like, pls do scheming a lil bit! Please learn to at least reject the villain blatantly dirty acts! At least reject!

And bcs the couple became married quickly, I hope there will be the process of them knowing each other better, their inside minds and thoughts of each other, like, it's what intimacy means to me! Not just they had s*x and that's it! Explore more of their marriage life or every day life! How they build their trust and truly become other each half!

You can't bring your brain to read this! You really must do! Just enjoy the face slap and the villains dumbness, added with the shou another dumbness innocent soul and mind! Boi, learn to at least dodge those fired before-ur-eyes bullets, will ya!

I know that this novel is a brainless light fluffy novel. I just read some brainy life and death games novel so I want to enjoy some light novel. But ugh, I can't enjoy this, sorry author-san and translator-san :' (

This novel was a good read by an author who was writing for the first time. It was lacking in some areas, which is to be expected, but I think with more experience, they will keep writing really good novels.

4 stars: Downtrodden and ab*sed poor farmboy ger x smiling secretive doctor with a mysterious past. Half slice of life (first half) and half sort of wuxia (second half), face-slapping of very s*um family, hidden backstories, some drama but you know the CP is gonna come out on top.

I liked that the ger shou didn't stay meek and weak the entire time, he did become stronger and more confident as the ML doted on him, and eventually he grew enough of a spine to melodramatically face-slap (and in at least... more>> one case literally face-slap) those who wronged him—but only after they came to him and tried to screw him over again.

The scumminess of his family was pretty extreme, and boy, did they all get what was coming to them thanks to the ML. This is one of the more satisfying novels in terms of face-slapping because the villains were really awful and didn't just earned their comeuppance, they kind of inflicted it upon themselves.

Not really specific spoilers, more kind of general comments about the comeuppance and why I appreciated it:

Half of it was revenge from the CP's side, and the rest of it they did to themselves. The details of what happens are not mind-blowingly complex or super unusual, but I realized it was more satisfying that it wasn't just the ML and/or MC trampling them or even turning the tables on them—the ML just set things up and then the villains basically took it from there and went on to destroy themselves because of their own cruel personalities. I liked that the ML was devious and manipulative in his vengeance but ultimately he didn't do much beyond setting up a situation and then leaving the villains to act on their own conclusions.

Speaking of which, the gong had a little more dimension compared to MLs of many other ger farming novels, possibly because he wasn't a transmigrator focused on fooding his way to success, or maybe that's just indicative of me reading too many of those kinds of stories. Anyway, the gong here is a doctor, not a farmer, and he seems very carefree and kind—which is sort of a mask, but he is actually kind and courteous to anyone who isn't out to get him or wrong his little beloved. He is not a yandere, and frankly it was refreshing how it seemed like he picked up the shou on a sympathetic whim (while incidentally noting how beautiful the shou is) and extended him a good deal of kindness, and smoothly developed feelings for him without any turbulence on his part. He didn't force the shou, manipulate him, or treat him like he was inferior and needed to be taught how to be better. Yeah, okay, I'm realizing I really need to find more novels that have better male leads. Naturally he pampers his ger a lot and looks out for him, and it came across as sweeter and more genuine than other novels I've read. Of course, he also will take vengeance on those who wrong his beloved...

The doctor gong is obviously much more than he seems and while it's hinted at over a long period, I didn't feel like it was drawn out too long since it was pretty obvious what kind of background he had. The novel did switch gears in the second half when his past catches up to him and some questionable decisions were made for the sake of plot, like—

Did his pregnant wife really have to come with him on a long dangerous winter mission to a place full of potential enemies bristling with martial arts techniques during a fight for succession? Though I reluctantly concede that if circumstances were getting potentially dangerous, maybe it was better than leaving him behind unprotected, and as was pointed out in-story, he is a super amazing doctor as well as martial artist so he can totally take care of his pregnant ger.

But it wasn't too shocking a shift and it was still relatively interesting. If I'm splitting hairs, I think this is more like 3.75 stars than a full 4 stars, but I rated it 4 because I felt like it was a more enjoyable read with less annoyances and frustrations than other similar novels I've read. <<less

Definitely a 5-star read! This book is one of my all-time favorites—a true hidden gem. The ML character is one of the best I've encountered, with his protectiveness, intelligence, and intriguing traits. I also liked the growth of the MC and the memorable side characters. Back to the Countryside. Pov is both from the gong and shou. No transmigration. Others complained that the shou is too passive, has no character growth, relies on the gong too much. At the beginning of the story it is true, but he does have a small ac. He stands up for himself, and is no longer passive. Story does not have transmigration. These tags do NOT apply: poor to rich, modern knowledge. Mpreg tag does not really count. Chapter 80+ starts getting interesting. Action packed, jianghu/xianxia setting. Reminds me... more>> of Transmigration: The Farm Life of a “Fool”. That novel is also a farming ger story, but with transmigration. The transmigration is the gong in that novel, so both novels have a seme protagonist, and the both shous have an identity reveal towards the end. Both novels have action towards the end of the novel. <<less

Soft and sweet slice of life with well done side CPs. For the chapter count it has a nice plot and is well paced, though the final chapters do seem a little rushed as a final climax but over all it was a nice soft read.
