I sincerely enjoy reading this very sweet love story.

Their reincarnation stories are truly interesting, unique & addictive. He Song Bai and Zhao Lan Xiang were a couple 2 times as each reincarnated into each other's life. I'm so glad to read that they ended up as a couple throughout their 2 lifetimes.

I enjoy reading how dedicated He Song Bai to Zhao Lan Xiang is and vice versa. They are truly a cute and loving couple.

They both are also lucky to have families (her parents & younger brother; his grandma & sisters; their kids) and friends who support them warmly & loyally.

I plan to reread it again in the near future. <<less

Beautiful story and romance.

The relationship between the characters is never ambiguos and the plot is amazing, the chapters aren't too short while the grammar simple and easy to read, I recommend to read the story 'till the end, it'll feel like closing a perfect circle.

The love story is extremely satisfying. The MC and the ML are people that you want to root for, an antagonist in the story is the type you personally want to execute, and The Ex is treated miserably enough for readers to be satisfied. The supporting characters are also very interesting... so interesting that they might even be MCs in their own novel. Personally, the most intriguing character in the novel is Grandma He LOL.

This is one of the most beautiful love story I've ever read. It's sweet and yet heartbreaking at the same time. FL reborn to her 17 yo self with the memory of her past life. In her past life, she married an amazing man (ML) who healed her trauma after her divorce with her ex husband and also from the loss of her 2 unborn children. ML relentlessly pursued her after she officially divorced her ex even after he knew her past and also the fact that:

FL was no longer could bear any children because her body was badly damaged after her 2 miscarriages.

Litte did she knew that the reason why ML resolutely wanted to spend his life with her was because:

He reborn after he died in FL's second life to the time of FL's first life. In other words, ML in FL's first life was ML from her second life while FL from ML's first life was FL in her second life. I don't know which one was happened first but I believe they're connected to each other.

ML in FL's first life remembered of the warm that FL gave him in his previous life. He vowed to make first timeline FL happy in her old days although she was no longer that bright and cheerful FL in his past life anymore. In his eyes, she was still FL that he once loved and cherished.

FL in her second life determined to meet ML ealier so they could be together longer than in her previous life. She helped ML to avoid the calamity that happened to him in her previous life so he didn't have to spend his youth in jail anymore. They finally had their happy ending earlier in her second life.

Of course they still have to face a few obstacles along they way. One of them was Jiang Jianjun, her ex husband in her previous life.

Surprisingly, he also reborn to the time of FL's second life. He tried to pursue FL again, unaware that FL also reborn and didn't want anything to do with him anymore.

Speaking of Jiang Jianjun, I felt complicated about him. I think it's a bit bul*sh*t when he told FL that he loved her after he made her suffer for 18 years. The author tried to justify his cold and indifferent nature as a result of his parent's unhappy marriage. But weren't 18 years long enough for him to learn to love someone properly? He should embrace her when she had her first miscarriage but no, he left her alone at that time. He also failed to protect her from his toxic family and his first love who caused her first miscarriage. He only came around when she had her second miscarriage but it's already too late. She already exhausted her love and her heart was bleeding after losing her 2 children. He could only regretted it for the rest of his life after FL left him.

But I think it's a bit cruel to make Jiang Jianjun reborn again just so he could lose FL again. He already regretted and suffered enough in his last life and there's no need to make him suffered again in his second life. I could only hope that in his second life, he could really let FL go and found his own happiness. When the time came, I hope he will cherish it, unlike in his marriage with FL.

I am completely in awe of this novel. I think it ended in the right note and completely showed both their lives. We don't know what timeline happened first but both timelines are bittersweet with happy endings. However, Zhao Lanxiang in both timelines are completely devoted to the person she loves.

The story has a motivational mood in it. I never knew how bleak it was in the 70s China. This story is set in famine and people are not allowed to be excessive.

The ML family used to be intellectuals and rich landlords but the family's assets are confiscated and the adult males died, so in the story, the ML family is one of the poorest in the county. Their lives changed when LanXiang came into their lives. She was fulfilling her promise to Songbai in the previous life to make his life easier. Her transmigration and knowledge of history enabled her to give the ML a push to do speculation and to enter college. She has no goldenfinger and she's not powerful so all she can do is encourage the man and everything else is because he has skills and is really hardworking. The only thing I don't really understand is why is it that their family has so many buried treasures. The grandparents buried them so they won't be confiscated, I think. But when they were so poor they didn't even have enough food, why didn't they dug some out and sold it to make the days better or at least they'll have some more food to eat.

One of my fave character is the grandmother. She's old but she's open-minded and not the selfish kind of grandma often seen on cnovels. She really is the pillar of their family and Songbai depended on her and often asks her for advise.

About the ex-husband Jiang Jiannan. He's really not the s*um people thinks he is. He is just uncommunicative and self-absorbed. I do feel so sorry for him but I don't think he deserves Lanxiang.

some says he'll be the male lead if this is the typical novel. The past life is really sad and we see his thoughts. He knows the efforts his wife did for him. His indifference to her killed her spirit and killed their children. He is pitiful, but she would have really died of depression if Songbai wasn't looking after her secretly. Jiannan really did make an effort when he felt he's losing her. He changed assignments to be able to accompany her and cooked for her. But it's really too late. She lost 2 children and he wasn't there for her. His first love and his family kept making troubles for her. They have been married for 17 years. He is saying he loves her and can't live without her, it's 17 years too late. He is also not trying to help her heal the right way by being forceful. You'll shed a lot of tears for them but even when he transmigrated, he didn't try to woo her back the right way. It's just too bad that when he transmigrated, the Lanxiang there is also a transmigrator so he really has no luck to win his ex-wife back

I really didn't expect that this novel is really good. But it is. It's bittersweet and motivational and the characters developed well.

This is such a heartfelt novel, I cried a lot of times. It's sweet and I learned a lot about China's history.

I will not review too much, the others already said what should be said. I do want a separate novel for their kids.

Don't want to spoil this for anyone so my cryptic review.

Happy tears. Read it fresh, without knowing too much. Then re-read to catch the fine points and clues to really appreciate the complete story. Love is not always early, capture if you can. Second chances are not worth it without others. If you don't cry at the end, you missed it.

Writer deserves high praise for completing the circles, connecting all the entangled lines. Thank you Translator, I would not have discovered this gem without you. Thank you, thank you.

This is a really good novel. The MC, ML and others are cute. It's so heartwarming to read this.

I laugh, angry, sad, and hungry through all the story. The MC is clever and sweet, she knows how to help the ML and when not to. But she's really so smooth, I admire her being active in the relationship.

The ML, he knows what and what not to do in their relationship and in his business. He strove hard to be raised in poverty and he's not stingy to ask help whether... more>> its his grandma, MC or his friends.

The ex husband, he's pitiful he doesn't know what love is, therefore he can't give it at her. Like others, too bad he's not the ML of this novel but I know he will change for the better.

The twist of this story made me cried, she help him and his family be better and he help her to find the happiness that she doesn't get. They are too sweet and devoted for each other. <<less

So I am a s**ked for happy ending and I found this novel under the tag Heartwarming and man it really did warm my heart. I cried with the characters in their struggles and cheered for their happy ending. I know it sounds so silly to be involved with novel characters but both MC and ML are so beautifully written that I couldn't help feeling for them. I loved this book soo much. Its truly a heartwarming. Good job author and dear translators for picking this book otherwise I would... more>> have never known about this gem.

Dont think much and just pick it up to read. It would certainly not disappoint you. I like hard working lead characters and boy they both really did worked their ass out for their future together.

PS. If you want to read a similar type of book then check out Eyes of silver eyes of gold. It's an English novel which I have read nth number of times whenever I feel down. After that novel Bai fumei is 2nd in my list. <<less

This novel is too beautiful, it gave me a lot of joy and sadness in the various situations that the protagonists faced. The author knew how to guide us to those feelings, I love FL how he could get to ML and then ML clung to that. We see both of them grow in their projects, supporting each other in a very beautiful way. It is a must read for fans of romantic comedy, Slice of life and rebirth or second chances. Highly recommended.

I have read and reread this novel so many times over that I’ve lost count. Although the translations are MTL’d, the translator did a decent job in getting the gist of the story.

I love how the author ties up both lifetimes and certain scenes get me teary eyed every time.

The main leads are such couple goals and after reading this novel.. My expectations are going to be crazy high. How will I ever find someone who loves me as much as Songbai loves Lanxiang and vice versa.

This a great slice of life story. The FL and the ML are trying their best to live a good life during the hard times they are in. The story is progressing quite nicely and surprises in the storyline adds spice to the story. The translation is also done very well. 👌

Lanxiang's old life was so harsh, it pained me so much. Gosh. The only silver lining is that Songbai was there waiting in the wings. Huhu.

The book cover is VERY appropriate for the fluff and foodie factors. My heart feels so soft since I just finished it. I really love this story and it breaks my heart to see it end. This is among my most favorite Josei novels due to its realistic qualities. Uh~the characters. GOLD.

I read in mtl, some part is not cleared but mostly can be understood. The story is fluffy romance similar to My Husband with Scholar Syndrome, but I think MHSS is more fluffy. This novel is half about the economic struggling and half romance. I like a face slapping or when the bad guy got his distribution, in this novel I think only the ex-husband got what he deserved, a bit pity though. I kinda want to read bad ending about the woman who caused MC miscarriage, sadly nothing about... more>> her. <<less

I dislike reading mtl but I did for this book (and it was okay). The premise and setup of the book are very sweet and interesting.

There is character development for the male lead as he is a young man without rebirth memories. And the story unfolds in a fairly logical manner with a heavy slice-of-life flavor.

The romance is sweet, especially since it's not an instant getting together. The wall between them is slowly melted but it is still fun to watch. And the business building is very immersive. The leads... more>> both take their own paths it support each other in a very fluffy manner. I liked that it wast always successful and they had to be very careful because in the era they lived in, yet could go to jail for their side businesses. Though I felt it was a little bland toward the end (especially the extra chapters) but that's just me or the mtl.

Overall, this is making it into y favorites. I hope a great translator and editor work on this so I can reread it in the future. <<less
