The reason the '?' mark is there is because the last chapter indicates, that there is an even higher realm than Dou Di (or at least there is a place, where the Dou Dis went off to, where in my opinion should be even higher levels.

In the beginning, we are in a small town, where a 'little' clan lives, and there are some small fights with the two other clans. When the MC's wife-to-be (Yanran) comes to cancel the marriage, due to the conflict with an overlord of the empire the MC's long training begins.

We get to know the mountain range nearby, then some other places in the empire, but ultimately he has to flee - how unexpected - he leaves for a region with even stronger individuals. After some training, we get to know, how tiny his original clan was.

He goes to the Jia Nan Academy in the Black Corner Region, where he trains, and after some effort on his side (and with some luck from the author), he grows in strength again.

He can exterminate that originally large being (Misty Cloud Sect), but in the process - 'accidentally' - his teacher falls into the hands of the Hall of Souls (more likely the Hun clan), which gives him the want to train and to attain even more power.

I won't write down the whole story, but it's still true, that he - and the reader too - only gradually discovers, how grand the world truly is:

He was born in a small clan in a small town in the smallest empire at the outer part of the continent, etc.

(Sorry for my inability to write it down coherently, and correctly, I hope it can be understood.)

I don't remember a novel with such a restriction toward advancement, like in the case of Origin Qi.

It's explained, that every time a new world is created, it's creation produces a set amount of Origin Qi, which is later absorbed in order to break through to the Dou Di class.

This might be common for some more experienced readers, but I've never met a novel (or just didn't read to that stage yet), where there was such a strong limitation. (It's basically impossible to step into the Dou Di class, the MC's case was only a lucky encounter with the help of the author.)

At the end of the story Xiao Yan is a Dou Di, but he suddenly finds another realm, which is unexplored (at least we don't know it yet) - and in my opinion it should be on an even higher standard, than the ancient clans, and the ancient times of the Dou Qi Continent.

I'm fond of this kind of natural treasures and/or spirits, but I greatly missed the other elements. Although there were some others mentioned, they didn't appear during the fights or the other events.

The only exception is that Black Demon Lightning, but it's only strengthening the 'emptiness-feeling'... Although there is also extremely cold - like the Ice River Valley's special Qi or the Nine Serene Spring, the elements aren't used for anything.

In the beginning, it was hard for the MC to deal with someone whose Qi had the earth's properties, but at the end, it just faded away, and I don't remember anyone with a too special water, earth, wind, or any other strength, excluding the poison... (Poison Qi)

Naturally, it can be explained by the special environment, the different world, and it can be considered one speciality of this novel (?).

At least he doesn't sleep with each of them...

At the end before the final war, he once has some thoughts about the Tou She Ancient God, and he clearly remembers the location under the Jia Nan Academy, where the jade began to act strangely. If I'm not mistaken, he even considers the possibility of the last Dou Di's Mansion to be there... The only problem is that he doesn't explore it, and eventually forgets about it in only a few months... (Before that he could remember this for years though...)

when he is fleeing from seven star Dou Sheng, he almost runs out of Spiritual Strength, but coincidentally the girl who is with him has a constitution, whose blood can nourish one's spiritual strength...

The only complaint I have is that the author, or translator, is inconsistent with the timeline of the whole event.

1.5 years until the 3 year meeting, but at one point Ya Fei says they haven't met for 3 years. Ling Ying says MC is going to come back within a few months, but later it is says that "within 3 years time, he collected map 3 fragments".. when he found the map fragment a few months after he left the Xiao clan to train. 1.5 years + couple of months != 3 years...
