Giving this 2 stars.

Both stars are for the translator and none for the plot.

If you thought you were in for a fluffy childcare novel, you are so wrong.

The ML is an a**hole. He fathers kids but doesn't bother to take care of them. MC is just manipulated and overpowered at this point.

The plot is just plain uncomfortable to read.

If you still wanna read it, go ahead. Because the Translator has done an amazing job in this.

At this moment, chap. 38 I have grown a bit more fond of the story. Disturbing things such as r*pe are very common in the novels, manhwas and everything BL that I read, for some reason they have also become popular and ugh the threesome also has gotten popular but I like how the story is developing. Like it's not so rush, H isn't rushing imp**gnating J as much as before. My only concern is the other damn beast, which annoys the hell out of me. ML has rather questionable morals but overall, I like to believe that he means well. MC is a weakling but he is in an unknown world where beastmen are strongest so I didn't really expect much from him. Some of his actions really pissed me off cause the ML is trying to please him but he just had to act like a little sh*t. I don't agree with many of the ML's actions but hey, you don't have to be that mean. : ( Don't read this if you:

    are squeamish about blood and gore. There is a rather sad scene where a few of their children get killed by some ugly a**hole ogre.

    get uncomfortable about mpreg, obviously. The part where the MC gave birth to the batch of eggs screwed me over, I was SHOOK. Author didn't go into detail (thank god) but it paints a vivid enough picture.

Overall, decent read. Would I read this again? Probably not, I got really frustrated a lot of time while reading this book and I doubt I can go through those emotions again. (′д｀)

They are like married couple that need to get divorced lmao

MC hates ML and he tries to escape multiple times and the ML fell in love and already thinks MC is his wife

I would say enemies to lovers but MC hates ML and ML loves MC but he is kinda sick which is understandable as he is in like from another world and an animal 😭

I was in denial and desperate that day my pillow was wet and my eyes were puffy when I went to school and legit I was scrolling so fast and looking for it to be an imaginary or a dream my heart was also pounding so hard but it wasn't 😔

To be noted: I read the tags. I knew what I was getting myself into. I did not mind the dub con and s*x.

Even so, this work does not deserve more than ⭐️⭐️ with a HUGE AMOUNT of indulgence. Maybe 1 to 1.5 stars max would be more accurate. I do thank the translators for their hard work on this, they did a nice job!

I tried my best to get through this story. I read a sizeable chunk of it (passed the halfway point) and pushed myself to click... more>> on the next chapter button many, many times. So I can honestly say that while the smut scenes were semi-decent sometimes, I cannot personally recommend it as a worthwhile read.
Unfortunately, I found that the novel did not resonate with me or was able to capture my interest. Because of that I felt that the time invested in reading it was completely wasted.

About the characters:

I thought the MC was super annoying. Later on, he seems to stop using his brain completely. His choices throughout the story were difficult for me to understand at some point. He turned into an illogical mess, too shallow & dull on top of that, which made it difficult for me to find any redeeming qualities in his portrayal.

And while I know people hated how ML treated

In my perspective, it did make a lot of sense. IMHO his behavior seemed more plausible within the context of the story compared to that of the main character.

To finish this review off, I'll say: although it seemed like the author aimed to give us more than plain smut, I cannot say it was a successful attempt.

If you want to beat your meat off with a brainless read, then go ahead and try it. It's quite possible that you might enjoy it more than I did.

While I wouldn't go as far as calling it the absolute worst thing I've read, I'm uncertain if I could ever confidently recommend it to others. <<less

I now it plays out in a world of Beastmen, and yes we all know this are "Beasts" which have a different kind of way of thinking and acting out, I get it... BUT the Human who transmigrated was and still is a HUMAN, with the human kind of way of thinking and knowing whats wrong or right. I'm "used" to reading noncon and I'm "okey" with it as long as it is portrayed in a realistic kind of way. This means as long as id is portrayed as r*pe... more>> and as something bad who can not be excused in any kind of way! So let me just rant a little bit about the character of this Human MC... yeah nothing about his way of thinking is logical. I get the "Stockholm-Syndrom" he develops vor the ML (it's a hopeless situation and there is no way out, to be honest) but just because you are in this kind of situation you cannot accept beeing r*ped (more than once, and the ML also did not stop after fainting (also more than once)) and brush it all of the next morning, that's not how a human (should) think. Even if r*pe "can be excused" in such kind of a story there needs to be a logical train of thoughts, which follows after this incident. But nope there is none, it gets accepter and life (to be precise love *badum badum*) goes on.

Such easy solutions to r*pe really bother me and I don't know why they're so common in this BL-Genre-Books.

Very realistic with the actions, reactions and personality of the characters, also with many events that make me wonder about an environment in which the primitive and life based on basic instincts would predominate (reproduction is one of them).

I think that's the essence of the novel and I appreciate the scenarios it has forced me to consider.

It's out of the ordinary and I just don't understand the presence of crystal people on this site. For my part, if something in question is not to my liking, I simply avoid all... more>> the content that has to do with it to avoid unforeseen events.

Because in the end you have to know how to draw a clear line between fiction and reality, otherwise we are lost. <<less

At first I wasn't quite impressed with this novel, because the ratings from other readers were quite low, but this novel often appears on my wattpad homepage, so I just read it. Then after reading it, I thought the story was really good. Honestly, this is my first beast novel. The story covers the usual plot. This is a common plot with common romance that you can find in romance novels or comics, so when you read this, it won't make your heart flutter much. It's about the MC's struggle... more>> in the woods out of nowhere and ML's struggle to take MC's love. ML's act of loving and always looking after the MC, it's sweet. Then for those of you who want to read, I suggest this book is suitable for you to read, you don't have to look at this low rate, honestly this is really good. And if you like simple romance, I think this is suitable. Both the plot and the story, it just flows, doesn't leave much traces but sometimes I often miss their stories. <<less

This is the lowest I rated any novel. The main problem is ML is not only a yandere he's an a**hole. I'm going to try and explain it without using spoilers but it was mostly about the way he treated his kids.

He treated MC pretty bad but "yandere" and the tags... we all kind of knew. We were not prepared for the family dynamic we were thrown into. I really kept reading to see how the author would make everything okay. But from what I got from some of the... more>> spoilers, it wasn't.

The MLs actions had real long term consequences for their kids except two. 😢 It's so sad because I was really reading for them and they deserved better. I really cannot read what they went through.

I really don't hate the book for ML throwing away his kids. He really thought of it as natural. My problem is that he never grew as a character. He never realized it was wrong. Realistic but what the point of seeing that in a book. He loved MC but never tried to understand him. Never even asked him about his past 😞. About why he was attached to the kids.

I don't understand how MC doesn't resent ML. Because those kids loved him and so badly wanted to be around their dad and ML would not let him be there for them. After everything those kids went through they still went to find MC and live outside their village. T.T ML was going to have to "punish" me or whatever because we were fighting that day. Honestly I think it was a mixture of lack of childhood love, Stockholm syndrome, and the how heavily reliant MC was on ML.

First: This is not for everyone. The tags are accurate and should be paid attention to.

Second: The translation is really good, Thank you to the Translator, you did a beautiful job.

Lastly, this novel's ML is not a human, he looks human, but really he's a highly intelligent snake with an animal mentality, so 'sensitive' people probably will take issue with his behavior.

Based on the negative reviews, I was a bit apprehensive. But man, I'm glad I still gave this a try.

You have to understand- this is NOT romance between Human x Human. The ML is a snake beastman (at least he ain't a scorpion. I mean they violently beat the sh*t of the female when mating). The dude took time to court (in beast terms) MC. He didn't violate and r*pe him the moment he saw MC.

It's a really good yaoi Beastality novel, to be honest.

Amazing and well translated novel! Not for the faint of heart, so be sure to check the tags. I really hope to find more dark BLs dealing with wild humanoid beasts like this one, it surely was an interesting ride.

This was a pretty Okay story - I liked it, in my opinion it was worth reading although some other comments state that it isn't so I guess it just depends on the reader and their opinions.

Mostly, I like the possessiveness and Tyrannical, cold attitude that comes from 'Big Snake'.

I adore shapeshifter stories and since this happens to fit that category I gave it a try and I actually enjoyed it... for the most part anyway.

**WARNING: there a lot of FORCEFUL happening in this story. **

  • Lots of people are either giving this story 5 stars or 1 star, I, myself almost decided to give it 5 stars but ultimately went with 4 stars [because this story doesn't really go into explaining things, I mean like say something happened and the reader is supposed to just go along with it no questions asked - the story didn't give an explanation for why that something happened... but it did].

This is a third book with an ML/MC that has animal characteristics that I've managed to read past 5 chapters and actually enjoyed. Normally this is not my genre as I seriously don't get why an author would turn a person into an animal. But I'm glad I gave this book a chance, it really is good so far.

* Reviewed on May 10th, 2020 (before it got translated) - read this novel via TTS in Cantonese, as usual.

Pretty little man transmigrated to a Beastman world, got forcefully breed, and you-know-what...

I am not sure of the proper translation for the Chinese title, but it could be, Unwilling Pet of a Spirit Snake by Potato Bud [edit: at the time of this review, the web novel has yet to be translated]. I am loving the possessiveness of those beast-men over their mates. It gives me those caveman vibes. I am... more>> totally digging it! Moreover, the novel didn't shy away from the male on-screen birthing scene, where he gave birth to his offsprings. Yes, it's plural here. The poor clueless guy suffered much. His beastman partner is not used to gentle s*x, especially in the beginning—still, nothing to worry about as they did end up all lovey-dovey as the story progresses.

I love all these elements in the novel:

1) Lotsa manhandling - so hot!

2) Lotsa non-consensual breeding and eventual imp**gnation.

3) Super domineering alphas - they would manhandle their mate into submission.

4) Overprotective partner

5) A touch of pet rearing element where the alpha males would treat their mates like a pet. I totally dig this <3.

6) Alphas fighting over their mate - the omegas are hard to come by, hence making them precious to the alphas.

7) Restricted freedom / captivity / confinement

8) Abnormal s*x organ - Yes, it's huge and more...

9) On-screen birthing scene.

10) Collaring/Leashing - a touch of bondage here and there.

11) Hurt and comfort

12) Interspecies sex

Aside from all of the above, I am also intrigued by the Beastmen's culture and physical differences. It is also interesting to observe the way each of them treats and view their mates.

So funny, at little heartbreak for the little snake, 70% fluppiness, suspense?...I think so.

Unexpected plot development is good too. This story is not predictable. So much element of surprise. ?

The initial story was a bit heavy and kinda dark, but after that passed, the story become all cute and fluffy

I've been reading thru MTL so I might not have understood all the nuances in this story. Although, I would say the interaction between the MC and ML is kinda cute and fluffy I can't help but feel uncomfortable especially during the early parts of this story. Given that this was tagged Stockholm syndrome, I understand that the story will progress in that route. I don't have qualms to that since I've been forewarned.

I just wished the ML would be a little less rough towards the MC in the beginning.... more>> I know they have their own differences, racial, cultural, and language, and the ML is trying to accommodate MC; yet it would have been better if the ML could more gentle and understanding towards the MC.

Someone said that their interaction is too realistic. I agree with you. However, sometimes I want more rainbows in my fiction. ? Lol

I still have more chapters to read and I hope they'll be able to work out their differences.

Edit:

So I completed it already. I was having a hard time understanding the last chapters but I think I get the gist of it. I think it's worth it to read this novel. Like I said there are scenes that will make you uncomfortable but I think if we embrace the concept of bestiality then we'll be able to push through and read this. Keep in mind the tags though. If you are against to any of them then you'll certainly won't enjoy this.
