Wang Chen unexpectedly traveled to the world of cultivation.

He became a young Qi Training cultivator from the outer sect of the Yunyang Sect in East Cangzhou.

Within the sect, social ranks were rigid, and intrigue was rampant;

Outside the mountain gate, monsters roamed freely, and Evil Spirits lurked everywhere!

Weak in strength, Wang Chen resolved to lay low until the end of time.

However, as he continued to keep a low profile…

He discovered that he had somehow become a big shot!

It's basically as the title says. No romance, no big face slaps. Just one man doing his best to survive and get stronger. It's very much slow-paced. He stays solitary, but does make friends with good people.

You may have to search for the novel on the translator's site to get it to load though.

It's a well written low-key MC novel. The MC isn't just a puppet who only cultivates. The author focuses on the MC's state of mind so it feels more human.

My real problem is with the translation. For a long time the MC struggles with money aka spirit stones so knowing how much money he has is kinda important. Read this:

"Spirit stones were the universal currency in the celestial realm, primarily categorized into spirit fragments, Intermediate Spirits, Upper Spirits, and Extreme Spirits."

"Spirit fragments were made from the scraps produced when cutting... more>> spirit stones, with one hundred spirit fragments equating to one low-grade spirit stone."

"The seven spirit fragments and thirty-nine spirit fragments in his storage bag represented his entire savings!"

What the raws actually say is that spirit stones are categorized as low, intermediate, upper and extreme, fragments are 1/100 of a low-grade spirit stone and the MC has 7 low-grade spirit stones and 39 fragments.

The MC kills someone and loots their storage bag? We have no clue how much money he earns since everything is translated as a spirit stone fragment. Did the MC earn enough to buy that thing he always wanted? Who knows.

I really wish this novel had a proofreader. I mean, how do you not catch this:

"These sunflower seeds came from those pumpkins, and he had roasted them himself."

Update: The quality takes a nosedive when it's time for him to go to the upper realm around ch 600. The MC smuggles himself and then has to worry about obtaining a citizenship FOR A HUNDRED+ CHAPTERS. Those who aren't natives of the upper realm have no human rights and can be captured and treated like s*aves. The next thing that happens is that a sect invades a town he's living in and captures all the people living there and treats them like s*aves. ??? His system is barely useful because the MC practices his spells by himself instead of using his upgrade system not to mention he doesn't even learn new spells. He's at the peak foundation establishment and he still uses the movement spell he used at the Qi realm. He's a body cultivator and he uses the same punch and palm techniques over and over again. The fights get reaaaally boring not to mention half of the fights involving humans are just bandits trying to rob him. I'm really disappointed 1/5 <<less
