‘Siren’ a name derived from an ancient creature, used to describe those who could charm, lure, control, and heal others by singing.

Subjected to live the life of a siren, Aria had experienced, seen, and heard many horrific things. Broken beyond repair, Aria resigned herself to death, when suddenly…

The Grand Duke, Lloyd Cardence Valentine, arrived and whispered.

“Should I kill everyone here?”

“If you need me, just call me. Your song will always reach me, wherever you are.”

In the end, Aria called the devil, bringing death to all those present, along with herself.

“Let’s fall to hell together.”

And with that, Aria breathed her last and died… only to return to her 10-year-old self.

Now that she had a second chance at her life, Aria was determined to change her fate, as well as the cruel fate of her saviour, Grand Duke Valentine.

And so… Aria proposed to him with a marriage contract.

She sold her soul to the devil and vowed to protect him.

[Marry me.]

Aria extended her hand and gave him the contract.

[Let’s get divorced in 10 years…]

The young duke took the contract from her hand.

“So, where should I stamp the seal?”

Oh dear lord, this must be what we call—true fluff.

The plot may seem like the typical: "female lead from an abusive background is sent back in time following a gruesome death", but to me, no matter how overused this plotline is, the defining key of this trope is always the narrative. No matter how miserable the protagonist's life is, there's no point if they don't rouse up the reader's feelings of empathy. It's often tricky to draw the line between "despair" and "excessive self-pity"... meaning one wrong step and the... more>> protagonist can annoy the hell out of us. Only 8 chapters of translation available now, but this aspect has been well-executed in my opinion. I adore the female lead so much. She doesn't show off excessively but doesn't act overly passive either, and there's so much potential in her (she kind of feels OP, you'll get what I mean if you see the summary).

First stumbled across the Manhwa Promo and thought it seemed pretty interesting, but reading it definitely gave me a better experience. I personally find the pacing reasonable and not too draggy, the narrative is detailed enough to not leave readers confused—but still maintains ample room for an element of mystery.

The notion of "divorce after 10 years" doesn't appear to be random either, hard to tell at this stage but I'd guess it's a premonition of a sad development...?

The FL seems to be under a belief (not enough explanation yet) that her lifespan is limited—that she'll die at the age of 20. She's 10 when she gets engaged to the ML... surely you know what I'm getting at with that alone.

At this point, there isn't much interaction between the FL and ML yet, so it mightttt be too early to give it a 5-star rating—but I'm betting on its potential (*coughs* certainly not because I have a soft spot for childhood lovers *coughs*) and it seems to be striding down the right railing. As per current available chapter, the story had the right amount of fluff, angst and heartwarming scenes. The pain the FL felt was vividly conveyed and her actions are presented with justified reasons. She may have shed her innocence as this is a reincarnation story, but we still have those bittersweet scenes as she embark a new childhood under the care of the ML's family. My fave parts would always be how they progress as an individual and as a family, go Tristan!

This novel's only sin was to appear in front of me when I needed angsty novels lmao. It's full of fluff and found family. If you're into that I would recommend.

The story has quite a lot of bitter-sweet beautiful moments. The main character has a well-defined personality and is devoted to saving her benefactor, the ML. Up to now she has made sound decisions and is not at all dense (a trait I hope she retains). A very enjoyable and promising read, looking forward to seeing their relationship develop and how her character will grow.

I absolutely love this series I have always wanted for this to be adapted into a manhwa but I just couldn't wait therefore I started the novel and now that I have caught on the translated versions of it I feel like there is nothing more to do.....

I really love this especially the "not angelic" nature of the FL and her undying love for the ml

  1. I also like the "siren" Plot idea and the fact that she can control people and even heal them through her songs!!
  2. And how can we forget the ML ? He is a total tsundere and I love that fact but let's see how long he can keep that up
  3. And the Duke is also one of the best daddy-in-law out there he even considered

The family in this one dotes on the MC so much and she deserves it all. She had such a traumatic life, I never would have been able to deal with it! I love the way the characters all act and I really wish that it was made into a comic, though that might take a while...

Perfection. Literal perfection. Seeing Aria slowly gain confidence in herself and her abilities, Lloyd becoming hopeful once he meets Aria... Oh and respect to the author for waiting until they were both legally adults to develop any serious romantic/s*xual relationship, cause otherwise the 4 year age gap would of been... nasty.

I was surprised nobody had written a review for this cute story so I decided to start us off by saying I am impatiently waiting for more updates! Very, very, very cute and satisfying. But also very, very, very long and took me a long time and braincells to read. Thankfully, the translation teams did a great job (but I couldn't resist going to the end on my own).

This is one of the novels where the many chapters didn't bore me or felt repetitive. I appreciate how the author took time to integrate Aria into the grand ducal family, not rushing their relationships development. Time is necessary to develop the plot, even though Aria has a second chance,... more>> it's not as though she knows everything. Childhood romances are usually very squeal-inducing but cramped into the end. Nothing to fear with this one though, as there are many side stories to make readers happy. <<less

This story is such a gem. I’m In love with the story/plot and the art. In a way it’s different to other historical romance novels but definitely has that vibe to it. Definitely worth a read.

I love the fluff! Thank you translator for amazing translation. I love the MC, she has a tragic past but rather excessively self-pity, she became stronger and took advantage of her time travel. The ML is tsundere and I got feeling that he really gonna treasure MC, so love it!

So far it is really good. I am most liking the fact that the author uses real life situations in a fantasy/historical story. The way they tackled about Aria's trauma and the results of those trauma is really heart wrenching. Also, I love the way the metaphors are used, it is really written wonderfully, it is not like the usual fluff story that is pure cringe worthy writing, this was really thought out well.

Maybe I'm just biased because I enjoy reading about mythologies/legends but this is really a great read.... more>> Can't wait for them to grow up!!!! <<less

This was really nice, super fluffy. I do like how the POVs will switch, although there seems to be no pattern. Sometimes I just got a tiny bit confused on who was who, or what the timeline was since the character cameos seem to fluctuate (like, each chapter we will only be able to meet one of the main characters and basically disregard all the other characters until the next chapter), but overall I enjoyed it a lot! mute siren x grand duke. review:

mc: beautiful, kind and pure. she feels indebted to the ML bc he saved her during the first life, when they met as adults. think of the ML as her saviour and source of salvation, which is why when she gets a do-over, she pledged herself to helping the ml.

ml: cold, and emotionless in the beginning. the whole family has this curse that passes down to the next of kin who will take over as the new head etc etc. but the ML develops feelings... more>> for the MC as time goes by, and learns what it means to have someone precious to you.

the novel starts with them as kids, then growing up and as years go by their relationship evolves and changes too. it's quite natural, and so the pacing to me was just right.

was revealed to be some sort of cold-hearted mu*derer in the previous timeline and was the person who caused so much blood sacrifice all in the name of doing good... like damn girl why are u making others suffer for you?

this one currently is my fav novel along with "how to get my husband in my side"

the ML, in laws all are whipped for the MC, and she isn't dumb. she knows how to act and do things.... the MC & ML are soooo cute lol
