Warning: if you are like myself and saw that the info said that the novel was 94 chapters and assumed since there were 133 chapters translated that it was completely translated, it is not. The previous translator made 60 chapters into 133 by splitting them. You can find the other chapters MTL’d online, but they are horrible quality.

I struggled to cut this down because no one wants a three page review but I could easily give one. Surprisingly it would be very focused on the ML. This was... more>> a rare case for me where it was his perspective that kept me going.

On the surface, our ML is no different than other aggressive, black-bellied male leads I’ve read before. However by hearing his thoughts, we get to witness an intricate web of a man fighting his own actions (past, present, and future), his deep insecurities, and an intense mental illness to prove his love to someone (that unbeknownst to him has not returned the affection for two lifetimes.)

ML’s mental illness gives him severe paranoia, mania, impulse control, and anger issues but instead of this just being a band-aid excuse by the author to make you forgive a forceful ML pursuing an uninterested FL, it makes you understand how deep he loves her. I think this is best illustrated by a scene where FL has at least accepted him as a friend. He is clearly having intense escalating thoughts while they stand together “I want to hug her. I want to kiss her. I want to own every breath in her body” but instead of acting on it, he stops that train of thought by thinking how shy the female lead is and how he knows she doesn’t want that instead taking a bite out of her breakfast as the closest to a kiss he can get. When he does mess up, you get to see in his brain and how certain things overwhelm that ability to control his impulses. How the paranoia meets the anger and jealousy. It’s important to add ML wants to be better for the FL. As a person but also mentally. He fears she will leave him due to a psychotic episode so he takes his meds, he goes to the doctor, and he tries to assure her how it’s been months or years since the last one.

All of that did somewhat negate what could have been an extremely fluffy story but there is still so many cute moments. I’ve never seen a ML try so hard to improve himself for the FL. The FL isn’t a face slapping type and can handle herself but he did dote on her and protect her in every way he knows how. Rather than fluffy, it became moving to see how across two lifetimes and no guarantee of return that he would offer his heart

I also liked FL and understood where she came from. I appreciated her quiet strength and determination. The combination of loyalty to those she loved and ability to cut off those her wronged her was great. She also is very dedicated to the ML once they get together and it’s sweet to see how she reassures him and supports him. <<less

It's a good good good read.

I am very broad minded when it comes to stories and its plot and how the ML and FL portrays themselves.

I see bad reviews by other readers. I think they have a set of of this is what a ML should be, and what a FL should be. If all stories would have same FL ML as you guys desired, then all stories would be the same. Reality check ✅, there are billions of people in the world and if you are in the... more>> same scenario, Not everyone would choose to do the same, we have our own personalities. That's what differentiates one story to another. I don't care if the illness was not portrayed correctly or so. All I care is the feeling it brought me as I read it.

I respect the author's point of view.

I like how the ML loved only her fighting his own illness but only has FL in his world. <<less

I really want to read Zhou Nuancheng, He Junming. Story *sigh* Author if you see this. Please make a sequel. I'm begging you to knees. That would be satisfying and sad. But please make sure He Junming is the second Male lead. Cus he's s*upid asf, I want bubbly sunshine Caring ML for aunt Zhou. Make that piece of tr*sh surname ' HE ' Regret *Don't mind me I Just want to express my feelings*

This is extremely similar to "Transmigrating to become the General's little fairy" except the FL wants nothing to do with the ML as of ch42. But the ML personality is the same: extremely wild/violent, has his little posse and has father issues. It follows the trope Good girl bad boy.

Some might not like it because the ML is really really persistent and does not listen to the FL's requests to leave her alone.

But the unique thing about this is you get both perspectives so as a reader you feel bad for the ML and the FL even though the reason you feel bad for the FL is because of the ML actions and vice versa. I'm not very knowledgeable on bipolar disorders so I can't comment as to whether or not it is being accurately portrayed but as of now I feel like what the ML has is anger issues rather than a mental disorder? But again, I'm not a medically trained professional so this is just what I think.

I'd recommend it, it's a nice read. There's also some family issues to with the FL and I feel like the author does a pretty well job conveying the emotions of the characters. Also the translation is understandable and flows nicely. <<less

I kept reading on hoping it would get better but I really couldn’t... stopped halfway. ML is a jerk, a bully and has really violent tendencies. Forces himself on her, stalks her etc. Apparently he will get some character growth later but at this moment I really hate him. FL is a Mary Su type, everyone loves her but I find her quite shallow. They like her for her beauty and her talents but I didn’t really feel that she had depth of character. I did like devils’s warmth, but... more>> this is not like that at all imo. <<less

For people who left the novel halfway or very early definitely don't understand how the romance grows, hence 'forced' is totally incorrect to describe them. I mean did ML seem forceful in trying to make MC notice him at the start? ABSOLUTELY- but that's totally in line with his character. Trust me ML is not the only one who is aggressive in their love. For instance when the ML gives-up on himself (or the Mc's love) after the accident where he feels totally unworthy of her, can you imagine what... more>> a huge sacrifice that was on his part??? For someone so madly in love, so obsessed, someone who would cut open his chest and hand over his heart just to prove his love for MC CAN YOU IMAGINE how broken he must have felt when he actually wanted to let her go because he felt completely unworthy of her after losing his ability to walk normally? He was already inferior knowing he was ill and repeatedly in his pov you'll raed how he keeps saying that but it's also going to be followed by ''I can be cured/ its treatable/ill get better'' he knew he'd work hard to have a better mentality, but what was he to do for his leg? my Gosh for someone like him to let her go only so she can be happier is such a huge step....

Like this ML isn't perfect in our eyes, but the MC could not resist and trust be you may not be able to either if you were in her shoes. She hasn't just lived one life but is on her second life where she has all her memories. She has been abandoned, hurt and betrayed by her loved one, endured humiliation and whatnot after being disfigured but now in her second life she notices him more, learns to understand him, accepts his illness and can't help but fall for this miserable man who is always there for her, protects her and lowers himself just to please her...

are the characters perfect? NO. But loving each other despite their flaws is even more romantic IMO. They make mistakes, they sacrifice, they grow and best of all they love.

let me be clear, if you aren't in the mood to experience an emotional ride and just want fluff then no. This has up's and downs. If you can't accept a flawed ML who ofc only changes for the better... maybe it’s not for you rn. Just read the tags. <<less
