After waking up, Bai Tu finds himself transmigrated into a world of furry beastmen. Everyone else can transform into fierce, massive animals, but he’s just an ultra-miniature bunny, so small that his entire body isn’t even as big as someone else’s paw.

To survive, Bai Tu leads his tribe in farming, animal domestication, and infrastructure building, all while occasionally babysitting the wolf cubs sent over by the Wolf King.

But as the saying goes, “Often walking along the river, how can you avoid getting your shoes wet?” After excessively cuddling with the wolves, Bai Tu is eventually snatched away by the neighboring Wolf King. Three months of hard labor later, Bai Tu discovers his belly is getting bigger.

“Don’t panic—it’s fake,” Bai Tu firmly convinces himself that it’s just a phantom pregnancy. But the very next day, as he digs a tunnel to escape, he’s faced with five little wolf cubs by his feet, leaving him utterly speechless and on the verge of tears.

Not terrible, just ok.

There is plenty to enjoy here if you like ancient beast world novels, of which there are many such novels on this site with varying degrees of fluff, slice of life, or drama/cruelty. This novel is definitely slice of life more than anything, but as per usual for a lot of these transmigrate to ancient world tropes, the MC "invents" things one after another with no issues at all. Not even a year goes by during all these inventions btw. MC can heal anyone with just some... more>> herbs, make bricks, pottery, farm, and all kinds of foods including soy sauce, vinegar, wine.

There's basically nothing MC can't do except fight. But that's not a problem because these ancient beast world tropes also include a ML that is a top fighter with no other ambition than to do whatever MC wants to do, and do* the MC. At least there is plenty of cub raising, although even that is also somehow used to show how amazing MC is, better at raising cubs than anyone.

There's no reason for MC to have all this ability. He just does. He even births his own cubs super easily. There's basically no struggles to go through. Every issue is solved easily. But the most annoying thing to me is how villains are never killed, only imprisoned until they inevitably run away to cause more issues but that's solved again easily. So this author is telling me in an ancient beast world there's barely any killing, unless mysteriously happened before the MC got there. Instead, forcing prisoners to do mining work (prison labor = modern s*avery), is much better, cause it's so easy to keep prisoners of rival tribes from causing any trouble if you just feed them well... sure ok.

I'm only halfway through this novel and it's too repetitive and long winded. The author spends way too many words explaining every little action about why MC does something. Whole paragraphs repeatedly throughout explaining something as little as why MC making mushy food for cubs. At the same time the author is very bad at writing side characters to be memorable. An example is MC spends 10s of chapters living with the Rabbit Clan and not a single rabbit side character is important or interesting. You might remember them as simple labels like rabbit Chief, Chef, Cub caretaker, but you will never know anything about them more than what useful job they do. Everyone besides MC is an npc.

Actually MC might as well be an npc too since he has no personality, ambition or internal struggles either, just going through the motions of civilization building. <<less

As per the primitive tribe troupes, this novel focuses on clan building and territorial wars, but it's all mostly solved very straightforwardly because MC is capable, trustworthy, and his clan basically treats him like a ruler. Like most clan transmigerators, MC starts by intruducing farming and most of his very detailed farming knowledge comes from watching douyin shorts. It does get repetitive after a while, but he predominately teaches his and surrounding clans hunting and crafting techniques for preservation. Very cozy and wholesome until

the CP's first time became a dub-con. ML was poisoned into rampaging and saw even his own family as a threat. MC had to choose between having s*x with a crazed ML or risk everyone getting hurt. MC might be self-sacrificial but writing "I might as well enjoy it" in that situation was actually kinda fked up. If this is how MC got pregnant, I'd just sigh and say I expected it.

Regardless, the clan building part is still good enough for me to continue, and the cubs are written cutely. People who likes kingdom building with cute babies can try it, but I'm taking a break after this arc. On the positive side, this novel focuses on building connections with different tribes and bettering the lives of his people. I do wish the rabbit clan gets more focus since they fade into the background as labourers though.

I'm still holding up hope that it will get better so I won't be giving a rating for now.

Highly recommended

The story starts with your average village cultivating, but it's written so well I'm honestly way more invested in what's happening now, in the beginning of the novel, then what will supposedly happen based on the description.

Give the story a chance, I promise you will love it by the fourth chapter.
