I truly enjoyed reading this novel--once I finished the translated chapters here, I found the MTL online. As much as I enjoy some of the other reviewers' funny comments, I think the MC actually did a lot in each transmigration to make her children and/or the targets feel loved and free to live life the way they wanted. However, I agree that the MC's difficulty seemed to decrease after a certain point.

Spoiler

In the novel, the MC gets three supernatural gifts. First, she receives the gift of the strength of cow, i.e., slightly supernatural strength which is with her in each world until the final extra. Don't worry though, this strength is sometimes outclassed by the world she inhabits. For example, in one world, there are cultivators so her superhuman strength is nothing to boast of comparatively speaking.

Second, after a few lives she gains a space--this is a game changer as it allows the MC to hoard food and other goods from world to world which can help get out of some tough spots at the beginning of her transmigration. Usually, the MC starts in pretty bad situations so having some money or items to pawn is a great way to get out of a desperation situation. For this reason, I think the other commenters complained that the MC eventually just sits back and lets the plot resolve itself. I understand the complaint, but I actually like characters who slowly grow from their transmigrations and, here, since the MC doesn't retain her skills from life to life, I think its fine for her to bring items from past lives to help her new situation.

Finally, in the extra, sadly, the MC loses her superhuman strength and space for some kind of hacking power to assist her in her original life. If you want to know how its used, read the whole story for yourself!

[collapse]

If you like MCs who focus less on revenge and more on succeeding in life, then this story is for you. There are some tragic undertones, but, in the end of each arc, the MC and her children/targets live great, fulfilling lives. If I had to complain, it would be the same thing I criticize about most of these novels: a lack of a significant dénouement. In the beginning, this novel is better than most, because the arcs end with an explanation about how the MC lived until her death. Yet, this changes at some point in the story and the latter arcs just end once the conflict is over. I love reading about what happens later until the MC dies surrounded by family. Moreover, the true ending or extra felt totally incomplete. How could it end so perfunctorily? I hope to find a novel that satisfies me in this regard some day, but for now, I'm still looking. If you find some, be sure to contact me and let me know! 😉 <<less

Rating: 3.5/5. I wish they would make the rating out of 10.

Summary: Li Su contracts with a transmigration system with the goal of eventually living in an alternate universe where her parents are alive, and she isn't infertile. Her mission is to go to various worlds and change the lives and fates of her various children.

Warnings: Non-Graphic Violence, No Romance, Repetition

... more>> MC Setting

MC Li Su's characterization is somewhat consistent. Her background and age are a little weird though. In the beginning, it's implied that she is at least in early thirties and divorced, but the way she acts doesn't seem to reflect that. It's like she resets to being in her 20s maturity wise in each arc regardless of how long she lived in the previous one. Every world, she dies of old age but her mentality doesn't really change at all. So if you're looking for personal growth, look elsewhere.

One interesting thing about MC and this novel is that MC does not get stronger as time goes by. If she is a designer and seamstress in one life, she doesn't get to keep her seamstress abilities in the next. Her skills thus depend on her personal knowledge and whatever skills belong to the person whose body she takes over. The one time she's in a fantasy world, she is apparently incapable of learning martial arts and fighting even though the one talent that the system provided for her was superstrength.

She's also not particularly smart or capable. She seems to be fairly practical but mostly gets lucky or ends up having very intelligent and capable family and children. Despite having superstrength and so many lifetimes, she's mostly lying down to win or being very passive regardless. There was even one lifetime where she said she would retaliate but didn't do anything but get pushed around and raised her son well. This novel is really really just about MC being a better mother to various characters than their previous mothers. This even just consists of MC being like "I'll let my kid do what they want. I have faith in them.".

As to romance, the novel comes outright and just says that MC is entirely disinterested in romance and isn't interested in men or women. She's as*xual and aromantic. This is a pretty interesting detail since most other novels have main characters fall in love or have companionship at some point. Most of the time, MC transmigrates after the husband of the original body is dead or has a poor relationship with the child's father.

Other Characters

MC gets to lie down to win a few times because her child, no matter how young, happens to be brilliant and sensible enough to manage things with just a little help from MC. If not, she often just gets lucky. Even if that's not the case, she does work hard but this eventually results in her child growing up well and becoming capable enough to let her lie down and win.

Most of her kids are good kids who were led astray or forced to veer off the proper path because of circumstances or the failures of the original mothers. That being said, there were one or two who were genuinely bad.

There are a lot of other characters, obviously, but also a lot of braindead characters. MC is mostly passive and lets these people implode themselves. Face-slapping is not a thing. <<less

i give it 3.5 stars, I do think its truly not bad! You can see a growth in writing. Its just a bit boring, I personally would have liked more interaction with the system, like after every world the MC can keep 1 skill she learned so she can progress as a person to. She was a good mum/grandmother but I think she lacked a bit as a person so if you like an easy fun read this is it, you want something deeper? Thats not found in here I... more>> personally think. <<less

I've been following the novel for a while, I left it for a while and when I came back I was worried that I wouldn't be interested anymore, but I got addicted, I love gossip and world building, although it's not enough to overwhelm us, it's interesting to see the differences between the original world and how they change with the influence of the FL. Also, it is always entertaining to see how people tie their shoelaces together and are surprised when they fall on their faces when walking.

Although, let's... more>> face it, i

Love this novel. It’s nice and simple. Some have said she gets everything handed to her and that’s not entirely true. The novel really highlights how good parenting can raise a good child.

I am enjoying the story arcs so far. I think it's an interesting concept. The first arc was great. The 2nd and 3rd were good. There are ups and downs with each story line. I can understand where some of the reviewers are coming from when they say the MC doesn't do much, etc. But the thing about this story is, while she is the MC of the story, she is a side character in the world's. She doesn't have to do much because her purpose is to give advice,... more>> support and guidance to the villains so they don't end up as the villains.

Don't read this expecting big thrills and romance. The MC has no interest in men. Or women. Or anyone as a partner. I do think her perspective is interesting and enjoy how she raises the children in each world. <<less

The first few arcs of the story was good, just like the description but then the FL got super lazy. If you like smooth sailing novels where the female lead doesn’t do much, then the novel might be for you, but other than that the novel’s kinda tr*sh after arc 2

I was disappointed, I was waiting for the MC to have a baby child of her own but I got a s*um Children instead...

I thought she would have cute baby child and supporting it without any support by the father,

Also, the story is bland, I don't feel anything about it, I've already read 3-6 quick transmigration and this is the only one I didn't feel anything at all even the MC is now leaving the world.

This novel is good even if you dont like one arc, you just have to skip that arc, dont give it bad review on the novel. I completed this novel in without reading empress mother arc and Old lady arc. I don't like that arc so I just skipped out it. There is no romance except their daughter/son love romance, even there is, is little.

I like it. I see the other reviews that are lower, and I can't refute them since I'm only in the middle of the second world, but for what I've seen, it's fine. A few more worlds in, I'm expecting things to get more boring based on the reviews, but the good thing about most quick transmigration novels is you can treat each world like a short transmigration story. In fact, that's kind of why I like the genre so much, as face-slapping, romance, and all that good stuff doesn't... more>> take hundreds of chapters to reach a satisfying conclusion.

So, I highly recommend the first and second arc. From that point on, its a mystery to us both. <<less

Definitely worth the read. I aspire to be the woman MC is. You can say she might be too violent but the son deserves it. As for the wife, I feel bad for her but angry at the same time. I get that she’s a product of her environment but after 10 years, she still didn’t change so she was a hopeless case.

I cried and laughed. It’s very good. Hopefully the plot stays good.

Started out fairly interesting, with a fairly solid MC and likable characters.

But then it quickly became a bloody dog drama fest with the MC becoming more shifty and the author seemingly not knowing what real kids are like.

Spoiler

Third arc got a one year old child that seemingly grew up from being swaddled and breast fed to talking and moving about like a bigger toddler. With the MC constantly buttering up the bastard father whenever talking to her genius son on top of starting to whine out of nowhere unlike previous arcs. Almost forgot, author also decided to refer to a 5-6 year old girl meant to help nurse the other baby that wasn't ready for a maid even as Mother Qui and also say later that she gave birth and lost her own child. Highly questionable even for such a time period.

[collapse]

It seems it increasingly became just for the sake of bloody dog drama.

In hindsight, even in the first arc, it was highly questionable
Spoiler

With a supposed weak but caring mother turning 360 and becoming a fool that is smitten with an abusive husband. That is not just weak but being a total fool and tool. Even when said mother and her child almost got sold, she was siding with the bastard useless husband, despite earlier accounts saying that she was supposed to protect her daughter even at the cost of her life. Oh and this is after all the screw ups of the bastard husband btw. Not to mention how she talked back to MC for trying to defend them/teach the bastard a lesson and yet just accepting everything from the husband.

Lukewarm everything from the plot to the characters. After arch 8 I skimmed the rest of this cause the boredom was to much at this point which is unfortunate since I liked the idea of a character transmigrating to help be a good mother to unfortunate children. The top comment by Julianita basically summarise this book I recommend you read it.

doesnt focus on the mother anymore and her teaching methods but only on drama surrounding her children? She feels more like a side character than the main one. She also doesnt rly learn anything from the world she has been (atleast up to chapter 69)

[collapse]

What I disliked the most was the " teaching" methods she used if they can even be called that.
Spoiler

most of the time when she wants to discipline her children she hits them? Dont get me wrong, its an easy method but its not really adding anything into how it affetcs the children psychologically or any worthy to add parenting on her part. The fact the children are suddenly behaved is because they are scared! Saying this novel is about motherhood is wrong as her teaching method doesnt change! Like at all! This shouldnt be promoted at all!

[collapse]

Her system should have played a bigger role as well. <<less

I love this novel. Main character travels from book to book redeeming her "child".

Anyone of those short stories can be made into a 100 pages novel!

It's true that she doesn't act too much in some stories, but that's what I think a parent should be. To let the child be and act only as needed.

This novel truly surprised me. It is excellent.

I have read the first three arcs so far and they are about challenges of being a mother of adult children with their own partners, kids, in-laws etc. Those difficult adult children are not easy to love or supervise and not always can be helped, some are way too crooked, or rotten, or mentally sick and beyond her skill level. So, their mother's task becomes protecting the rest of their family from them!

Very unusual and fresh. I love it!

Spoiler

The first arc is excellent and got me hooked. It truly was about a challenging motherhood. She became a mother of an addict.

The second was average mostly because the son in that story was... underwhelming. He was constantly watched over by his mommy to make him separate from his college girlfriend and make him adhere to his wife. Who cares about men of this sort? An adult married male whose mother watches where he sticks his d*ck and where the money from his wallet goes. Terrible.

The third arc was terrible for me as a reader, because I nether enjoy Chinese stories about r*pe and r*pe victims, nor do I enjoy reading a lot about the rapist and his partner in crime wife which is what this arc is about. I actually did not expect it and felt cheated by the author. There was no r*pe in the original script, it happened because the FL transmigrated and changed the storyline!

There was too little about the FL, the mother, in the third arc. She was in the background 99% of the time, spending it either in her workshop or imprisoned, and too much about crime, post crime suffering of her daughter and no justice for me to like it. It simply made me angry without resolution. It was not even a tragedy, just an ugly fantasy of the author on the topic of Chinese obcession with having a son instead of a daughter, r*pe, futile efforts to prevent it, and its consequences for the two families involved.

Anyways, these are stories well told and they certainly stir emotions. But they are not about the sweetness of motherhood, far from it, and the system is not interfering nor helping in any way. It only gave the FL super strength right off the bat which made the FL behave brutally with her kids and, frankly, made her look rather awfully violent, being the perpetrator of domestic violence and physical ab*se: breaking her son's legs in one arc, hitting her son with a wooden rolling pin on his head in another, etc. Terrible stuff.

As I read this novel, I skipped at least one third of the arcs because I disliked the settings, they were too shocking or unpleasant or simply not this author's forte, but the remaining arcs were satisfying and simple stories about motherhood or sometimes not so much about motherhood but about kids growing up in challenging circumstances and succeeding, becoming good people.

This novel is alright. I read the first two arcs before being done with it.

The MC is pretty likeable. That's why I read this far. Also, the author is doing great work in addressing many themes that are relevant in society nowadays.

I would have read a bit further but I really disliked the second arc.

Her son is just as bad as the villainess/ mistress. She got her just reward but the son was protected the whole time by the MC. The FL in the arc deserves someone better honestly. She was the only innocent person in the arc. They addressed how people react when the baby is a girl and it really made my blood boil. The author did a good job giving them a daughter after all that but I stopped reading afterwards.

All in all, I was left unsatisfied after each arc. <<less

This is one of the best non-romcom story I have ever read. It shows a realistic and touching take on QT stories for cannon fodder without any senseless face slapping or revenge.

The MC is always an amazing mother to all the cannon fodders, raises them well, face slaps when needed yet she never violets her moral principles. Truly an amazing mother.
