This was made by the same author as WMW, and was recommended to me as similiar to Way of the Devil.

Sadly, not only does the translation suck, but the plot is based upon faceslapping people who were previously stronger than the MC, and on people praising him for reaching x level at only y age.

I haven't really reached the world-hopping part, although there has been some explanation about dream masters, but I simply can't take this anymore. Feels like a bad Wuxia with a MC who has nothing interesting about... more>> him at all. He's neither evil nor good, he's neither funny nor interesting. He just goes around reacting to people who knock on his door to humiliate him, and then humiliates them back. <<less

Came here to read a novel about a carefree farmer who ends up somehow conquering worlds by leading people either intentionally or unintentionally, instead what I got was a generic arrogant face slapping cultivation novel MC who happens to farm as a side job just because it helps him becomes powerful faster. The focus is on farming for 5 chapters, after that, it's just another cultivation weak to strong novel with a lot of face slapping.

Honoring the name Fang Yuan, MC is also quite cold-hearted, and really has no scruples,... more>> causing entire families to die and not batting an eye. <<less

The same quite unique style as in Warlock of the Magus World (read my review for that). Overall it is maybe just slightly weaker. A bad point is that whole arcs

The journey of a simple Huaxia man to go back home. “I’m back..” he said, with a sincere smile. That, in itself, is the romance of a man’s life.

Without finishing the novel and stopping in any other point of the story among many of the world he traversed, you’ll most likely dislike it because it is kind of misleading.

Though the finish is not perfect, it completes a man’s romance.

It was a good read. Thank you.

If you are looking for a cunning or smart or an evil MC, then this novel is definitely not for you. The MC in this novel was named Fang yuan, So I thought I will be watching some evil MC. But the MC in this novel is just straight up naive, This guy have no goals and no motivation. It just feels like a bland character.

Also the MC is extremely s*upid and he even forgives his enemies who literally wanna plot against him and kill him.

Spoiler

For example there is a guy called Lin wu who wanna attack an other nation, this guy is like a city lord with six cities under him. MC actually had a good relation with this guy. But the country where both MC and Lin wu live have a royal family, but due to the powers of cultivators the influence of royal family in the country is verry little.

So the princess set out to sabotage the relation between MC and Lin wu, she is actually extremely weak and all she had for her was her peerless beauty. She first went to MC and told him to oppose Lin wu, MC obviously declined, but then she had courage and started insulting and blackmailing MC. If anyone else did this MC will usually kill them, but her being the peerless beauty, this d*ck head actually started clapping and appreciating her bravory.

Then after some chapters, she had made this d*ck head MC her puppet and he actually fought against Lin wu and even started helping this b1tch without having any benefit.

[collapse]

Also in the entire novel MC never done anything that can be considered evil, this guy will even spare the life of annoying characters that obviously wanna kill him, only for them to cause more troubles for the MC. <<less

This is a terrible novel just like authors other novel Warlock of the Magus World. In the novel even though author tries to show MC like a smart opportunist he is definitely a ret*rded f*ck. All the problems MC have in this novel are from random encounters and he handles all encounters in the worst way possible and because of this smallest conflicts escalates to comedic degrees. There is literally 0 menaningful conflicts. Also one of the serious problem of the novel is that if MC says that he doesn't... more>> want something to happen you know for %100 it is gonna happen. Overall this is a complete garbage. <<less

Fascinating start that had a very different development route from it.

Not a bad thing, in fact the novel is quite good, but it does leave you yearning for that style of the first chapters. A really recommended read yet.

I loved Warlock of the magus World, and this is very similar. A cold-blooded MC, no romance, no "scream and gets more powerful" or "love gives more unreasonable powers" stuff. It's not such an eerie feel, like warlock.

He is a very calculative and deceiving person: no friends are greater than benefits.

The ending is, as most of his works, not that great, but very acceptable. Usually open ends. Well, the best ending ever, for me, was Everyone Else is a Returnee.

Some minor characters simply disappear and some questions are left unanswered.... more>> However, the overall quality is great. I enjoyed it very much as a change from the overused plots of Xianxia. <<less

Okay. I want to be critical because the author of this novel is the author of Warlock of Magus World, which is one of my favorite novel so far (Out of less than a thousand novels I've read).

1) The premise is ok. He has a cheat called system, he don't do what typical MC when their marriage is broken, he is not careless, has a farm, and flexible with his decision and choices. Basically not the usual s*upid MC.

2.) The literary writing is bad. IDK if it was because of... more>> translation but it is not immersive. I always shake my head when their are redundancies, adverbs and words that only lengthen the word counts.

3.) Worlds traversing is great. Especially using Western Settings and components. I faced palm on eastern components on how childish the naming sense were. Also they are sloppier established than their western couterparts.

4.) References are either cringey or hilarious. Sauron, Zoro, Ottoman, Spice Island, Ainz Ooal Gown, etc

5.) The author was using his previous method from WMW (about destiny) but it is not as catchy as before. I won't elaborate on this, just read both so you could understand me.

6.) There is little tension, only when about the Peak Netherheaven Mental Demon that stakes became high and interesting (though the conclusion of their fight is very unsatisfying). However, this happened between the middle and last parts of the story. As for the ending chapters, it became such a bore.

7.) Character development is stagnant. Or even regressed a bit for doing s*upid things or his s*upid MC halo granted him advantages.

8.) Last, there are many things that the author told and established, then later cross-out by some random explanation. So yeah, don't be s*upid to believe the author when he established something because he would just play you around later.

Yep, I think this is it. There might be more to explain but it will probably not giving the author his worth of cent. <<less

I tried giving this novel a try but the lack of personality really kills it for me, if you told me the MC was robot at the end I would not be surprised since everything seems to be 10101 for this MC he will not move unless he has benefits, if not you could watch his mother being mu*dered without a shred a emotion.

The system ruins the whole cultivation of this novel, already that there is no depht to the cultivation all he has to do is gain a little... more>> experience with no bottleneck of understanding of cultivation either.

I wouldn't really recommend this novel to anyone <<less

The cultivation is great, it gives more world building.

But, I feel the author lost himself in the inner-side stories too much.

It's a good read until he goes to the main continent.

Edit-

Ok, first of all the unique dream traversing and exploring different worlds was great. But that constant reference to Chinese history all over the multiverse is nauseating, and also that generic reference to western fantasy isn't what I was expecting. I expected to see different exotic cultures and wierd races, but all you get is the same, dragons, demons, humans. (Especially humans, they rule or meant to rule all the worlds, it almost makes you question if all that multiverse traveling is just a dream). The story had great potential, but the author ruined it by not being more open minded, and been more creative with plots. <<less

This story is very good, and the MC is mature, always look lowkey, and OP on the right moment. The scheming and the way of his thinking to consider cost benefit is making this story different from linear cultivation story (revenge, harem, and beat the bad guys). He is more like "i wont bother anyone, leave me alone" type. Although I recommend to skip all of his dreams story (side story), They are not making the hype on track.

C154

The story pace has gone fast from a little mountain, into kingdoms,... more>> and wars. I like how MC get things done is a fast and simple way. Killing and plotting enemies that should take days, its done in a day. Ending the war that took years, being done in months. This is the very reason why this novel can never get you bored! The pace and scheme are well played and keep getting better. <<less

It's so good, if only the MC had a bit of humanity in him it would have been perfect, he doesn't give a damn about girls witch both good and bad, and his quite cruel even immoral sometimes, the translation is also sometimes confusing, otherwise this novel is so good the MC is smart his actions are quite logical he knows when to step up and when to step down, he take preventive action to protect himself. He didn't let anyone take advantage of him.

Clearly this story is about relying on ones self to progress in the world. This farmer looks at his life experience as one big experiment, where in he utilizes what is available and cultivates his farm, his animals and his life to become superior to others. I find the novel engaging and light hearted. At times he is schemed and betrayed by associates and strangers. This does not deter his spirit. I look forward to his journey to a better life for himself and those who may come to... more>> associate with him. <<less

So far it's pretty good; reminds me of the beginning of 'World of Cultivation'. We have a MC who doesn't really care that much about the world outside of his little farming valley, and yet, the world still intrudes.

It's too early to say whether it'll turn into cliched garbage, but at least the writing style is fairly engaging. There are hints of the old familiar stories with a broken engagement and a set of evil antagonists (outer sect guy, inner sect cousin, sect elder father). They don't make up the... more>> bulk of the story though, and are still entertaining enough.

As yet, there are no triggers that would make me stop reading (heavy sexism, r*pe, racism, etc.). People who enjoy xuanhuan will probably enjoy this. <<less

What an infuriating MC, the more I read the more unbearable this MC becomes. This is nothing like WMW, not even close. The MC's character was written without effort, repeating same dialogues and lame reactions, especially his excitement feels fake.

Unlike Leylin Farlier (wmw) and the real Fang Yuan (ri) who are both realy calm & cool and had a natural air of indifference, but the MC here is just trying hard to act cool and feel inorganic. When he's in the middle of a Fight he also loves... more>> to say cliche villain snide remarks against unimportant characters.

Like thiss:

Spoiler

"Taste my Black Sand Palm!!"

"Can you take my Giant Eagle Claw?!"

"Using a grasshopper's arm to block an oncoming car!" (ch187)

[collapse]

MC doesn't have brilliant schemes or planning. He's just a boring-ass guy who for some reason got a main character role in a novel. lol

A very sad fact is that MC is heavily plot-armored. Unlike Leylin Farlier (wmw) or Fang Yuan (ri) who scheme their way to get their wants and needs, MC here just wait for things to fall into his lap. The routine is basically... [People/Beasts will attack him > He will kill them > Loot them.. AND REPEAT] Basically a story written almost without planning. Aside from that the story relies a lot on Luck & Coincidence!

For example:

Spoiler

MC luckily hunts a rare Snake and he got Medicine & Poisons from it.

MC had a bit of knowledge in medicine, so later Influencial people came to his door and asking him to cure their Patriarch, if not they will attack him. But coincidentally the patient is actually poisoned and he coincidentally know what kind of poison it is and also coincidentally have the cure for it. So they worship and praise him and got their respect.

Then they rewarded MC with Martial-art Manuals, and coincidentally one of those manuals is a martial-art that use poison and he coincidentally just have the poison so he used that poison to make his martial-arts stronger.

This is just one of the many scenario. This pattern keeps repeating later on.

[collapse]

The only good thing in this novel is the Cultivation realms but it was explained so terribly that I only got about 60-70% of it.

Another note is the novel is horribly translated, missing parts, some paragraphs are jumbled and out of order. The TL also doesn't even know how to use proper words.

For example:

Spoiler

Raws:

"I have a VAGUE IDEA of the next stage!"

Translation:

"I have a ROUGH SENSING of the next stage!"

Lmao.

[collapse]

I hate to be a grammar police since I'm also an MTL reader, but the TL of this novel is ret*rded. It might look alright if it's just once, but this is pretty much how the whole TL of the novel goes and it makes me wanna break my screen.

×××

This is a terrible novel and the only reason I got this far is because I want a story where MC is a "Selfish" & "Top G" in the story and I'm also somewhat hoping for a change of translator later but never happened! This story is only worth 2/5 stars for me. I regret reading this shit.

PS: You can try it, just don't expect anything and you might just enjoy it. lol <<less

I have finished this novel, the review will contain mild spoilers and overview.

My Rating is 8/10, I put 5 stars to counterbalance 1 stars from people who either did not understand or did not read the novel.

The story starts of a country bumpkin growing plants. This is extremely misleading as it has nothing to do with the story once the prologue chapters end.

There are similarities with WMW, WMW is probably a better novel overall, the differences is that Leylin is more of an Evil guy, while Fang Yuan is strictly... more>> neutral. He does not kill things on purpose, but in many cases about accidental causalties he does not care, and strives for his personal benefit.

The whole novel is a series of stories of dreamtraversing, similarly to entering other worlds. In each world MC reincarnates or posseses someone, and climbs to the top, before earning or plundering some rewards from the world itself that allow him to advance in cultivation. As he gains more experience, you can see that he becomes expert and competes against other similar beings.

As he is dreamtraversing in different worlds, each world has its own pecularities, characters, and represents a short story/arc. There are some arcs which were poor/boring/slow and I honestly skipped, (ancient world, hellsing, netherworld et.c.) and some that were better in writing and more interesting.

Spiritual world, Pirate King, Starcraft, and Barbarian arcs are among the better ones imho. The writing quality felt much better and you could genuinely enjoy those arcs.

The writing quality is fairly decent, it is not a novel about making a large harem, winning tournaments, and Uncle of an Uncle taking revenge on MC. The story has a very slow accumulation/build up, with the main story arc starting from around 500C.

As it goes MC does not develop any faction, romance or attachments, and as soon as he makes a significant jump up in level, all the past acquintances dissapear like dust or ants. As if they never existed, he cannot even return back and check on his homeland Daqian. Late story time skips of 30, 000 years and 1, 000, 000 years in particular make it feel like all the previous universes were irrelevant stories.

The ending itself a separate mini-arc and is kind of dull, but far from the worst endings out there.

The precursor of him being a traverser incarnator from earth, that incarnated in superb universe only to incarnate in another world and all that he saw in some dreams e.t.c., is a complete mess though. <<less

Great Book. I enjoyed it overall, but this last arc was shit. And also very rushed.

Author has some great ideas. He built many different worlds. But this Final Destination place was crap, it was a simple city, where you comprehend or die. That's it. Even that villian they introduces, someone who got the same cheat from Huaxia civilization but is evil. That guy just came out of nowhere.

Moreover his personality changes in the last few chapters. This is the guy who literally clawed his way to power, not once but... more>> several times. He lost every advantage but still has confidence to succeed. But, in the Final Destination arc thought I am not certain I can break through. And, I will divote myself to patriarch. Maybe, he was acting, but that wasn't shown.

Other times you could see it, like Fang Yuan would say I will help you, while secretly thinking How should I kill this guy, and obtain all benifits. But, in this last arc, he showed his shock when the two patriarch revealed their true intentions.

I am saying many bad things about this, but that is only because the ending is still on my mind. If you ignore this last arc. I will give this 5/5* without hesitation. In this book you will see MC go through many different worlds, pass through many different challenges. Ofcourse he always wins, but that is not the part I am interested in. What I like is how he wins, how he struggles to understand the new world, then as he understands more and more he grows he power alongside it.

My favorite is the Wasteland Arc where he is born as a barbarian, and his cheat is missing.

All in all, loved the book. But, the ending is crap. <<less

A dissapointment... It may not be so dissapointing for those newer to these kinds of Chinese novels but it's so bland and boring coupled with the usual Chinese novel disease of being too long winded for nothing it's tr*sh. The MCs emotions are moot, goals are duh, relationships with others may as well not exist, funny or exciting moments are few far between and even then still lacking in the entertainment factor. I'm afraid this might actually be a standard for most Chinese authors... I really hope I'm wrong!
