Summary: Wei Lou was given a chance to change her past by going back again in being 6 years old. Will she tidy up her stepmother and stepsister? Will she change the fate of her brother? Will she get back what hers? But the biggest question is.... Will she tame the most dreaded Prince in the dynasty?

Comment: It is a good novel. The flow of the story is not drag. It shows well the cause and effect of people's action. I like how it portrays the "Butterfly... more>> Effect". When you don't have anything else to read then you can give this a try. It is not boring but at the same time will not make feel the hype in each chapter. That is why for me it is a good novel... you know... It is not the "best", not "better", but "good".

Romance: I actually love this part since the guy is protective and possessive to the MC, although the MC is also the same. The love scenes for me is really passionate like in Assassins Farmer and Yu Ren. It is not p*rnographic which will not make you feel uncomfortable. (for some people?)

Characters:

Wei Lou - I like her character. She is smart, resourceful and an actress. XD

Zhao Jie - He is ruthless, merciless, terrifying and uxorious (don't know the meaning? look it up XD[I also have to look it up.])

Others - Just typical side characters in a novel although some of them have there own love stories. I like the story of Yang Zhen and Zhao Liuli but my favorite is the story of Li Song. His story is some good plot twist. It is unexpected and I am happy that the author did it. Since for me, it is not his fault to fall in love with her, although there are some bad blood between them but I think it is already paid off of what she did to him, So I am happy to sail the ship... :D <<less

I have read quite a bit of historical novel, but I can't get over this age gap. A 22 years old adult is interested in a 13 years old kis!! Also the way ML just going around kidnapping a 6 years old so he can talk to her 🤢

Also the father is really bias towards the MC. If only he did his job right, his daughter won't be so bitter and jealous.

It is rated 4... So I had high expectations.

Honestly I pushed through as much as possible, just look at that 80 mark, but nope, it just gets worse and worse.

Having read enough "transmigrating into cannon fodder" novels, I have finally developed the sense to empathize with the side characters.

And this makes it harder to like the FL, because she does unreasonable things. I get that she wants to protect her family and her close ones but... isn't that what everyone would wanna do? So you are just gonna beat people... more>> up all the time for tryna survive? What sorta plot? My Buddhist heart doesn't agree.

Most characters are just there to fuel the FL's progression to be above all. It's like... they have no brain of their own. Poor cannon fodders : (

But the part that really annoyed me was when she stabbed Li Song in the chest. What reckless behavior! He has been practicing martial arts all his life! She really stabbed a martial artist in the chest with a hairpin and walked away in one piece because... he fell in love...... *repeated slams head against the wall* Protagonist halo working overtime, I see.

And, that Gao girl?? I wanna hug her tightly and tell her everything will be alright she doesn't need a pe*o for a husband just because he happens to be the "top" thing.

ML is so annoying. I don't like him. Ew.

Novel dropped. Lol, I can't suffer with this. <<less

Rating is more of a 4.5. There's bits & pieces that weren't to my taste plus the few things I wish were resolved but not too offensive to drop it to a four. And the translation done by both translator was excellent.

If you don't like age gaps and have a problem with underage, I'd recommend skipping this book. While the age gap isn't too big (9 years won't matter when they're older) she is six when they first meet. ML is interested in her because she's different - a little... more>> dark, tempered by hardship into something strong yet soft. But he doesn't do anything physical or even turn his thoughts in a romantic direction until she's in the age range when girls in that time got engaged/married; the worst they did was make out with heavy petting. She was 15 when they got married perfectly normal for the era and its better that it's ML who's only 9 years older rather than a man with many decades on him. TBH a lot of people jump on the p3do accusations because they look at it with modern sensibilities. The noncon scenes weren't too bad for the most part, skippable other than adding the doom/pain of FL's enemies they don't need to be read. Didn't really dig the constant infantilizing of FL, it can be okay occasionally (like when she acts coquettish for attention) but why is it always when they about to get s*xual that ML compares her to a child. That would make me speed through the s*x scenes just to avoid seeing it.

I'll be honest the only time it really bugged me was the dubcon in the side story where Li Song kissed Ah Luo against her will, before giving her the deal: marry him in exchange for him fixing things for her with her evil stepmom & half sister and get her back in the Wei family. When he went ahead with it after saving Wei Luo, she reluctantly agrees to marry him a perfect stranger. It didn't do much for me even though I was hopeful at the beginning of the side story.

Overall I liked most of the characters, the story is more or less resolved by the time they marry. Wei Luo & Zhao Jie are a dark couple devoted to fiercely protecting and loving their people. Wei Luo is softer and more open than her husband but still devious. She's good at getting her vengeance without drawing it out like in other stories. Our main endured hardships without faltering though they had their arguments. I like them, they might not be everyone's taste. All they need is some kids which they do eventually get. Oh almost forgot her mother

left them after falling for a scheme done by the Du woman & Third branch. She remarried and came back into their lives after the twins were grown and in Wei Luo's case engaged. Yet the mom kept begging for forgiveness and to not be cut from their lives. I'm glad the twins didn't instantly forgive and pamper the mom all in the name of filial piety like in so many stories where one parent abandons the kids. They stayed firm in letting the past stay the past and not bringing her in their lives. Really loved that!

Then the author focuses on the side characters for the rest of the story without them taking over the story. I thought that was nice up until

I realized that they gave her 2nd uncle's outside daughter more screen time than FL's twin brother who seems like he's only there to be obsessed with his big sis. Like a possible love interest was was introduced and there was a plotline for them and then it just got dropped and they're never mentioned again. You get more on everyone else except for the twin brother. Even Li Song got a whole side story in an alternate timeline! Though I'll be honest the Emperor & Empress were interesting I would have loved to see a spin-off of their past and how things reached the place their in from their POV rather than a summary chapter. She was a fierce warbird and he loved her too much that he clipped her wings. But they didn't last because his fear and ambition was greater than his love for her. Man I'd like an AU where Empress left with her kids.

You might like this one a lot, but before you read it, PLEASE take the common negative points written by the lower-rated reviews seriously. They're not biased or exaggerated. If you think those things will put you off, then you shouldn't bother with this (or, at least, go into it with super-low expectations).

The two stars are for:

-The translation.

... more>> -The actual writing, which has a more intelligent, considerate, moderate tone than some of the shallower stories of this genre.

-The fact that many supporting characters are more fleshed-out than in the shallower stories (e.g. Adorable Treasured Fox, Black-Bellied Miss).

-The fact that the author tried to create and MC that wasn't as "nice" and perfect as some.

But the actual plot and characters were a disappointment and I've dropped it.

I think you might like this if you enjoy overbearing, OP couples, an MC who does whatever she likes and everyone (in the story) loves and and a cold, OP ML who is doting but also driven by his overwhelming ML passion (read: supposed-to-be-romantic). And, if you've read the negative reviews but aren't put-off by those things in a story.

SIDE NOTE: I started this novel because it's recommended by readers who read things like Eight Treasures Trousseau, To Be a Virtuous Wife, Legend of Concubine's Daughter Minglan and The Rebirth of Han Yuxi, but and was hoping for something similar in terms of intelligent, measured, intricate storytelling. It's only superficially like them (in fact, the MC in this reminds me of the horrible, selfish sister/half-sister who is usually an antagonist in those stories), the actual content is closer to those revenge/face-slapping C-novels and manhua that you just read for the entertainment of seeing the MC and ML rampaging overbearingly over all who dare to go against them. <<less

Since this Novel is recommended by novel's readers I liked, I give this a chance despite some bad review. Oh well... now I know why some review it badly.

I want to finish this novel but I can't. It's too exhausting.

I used to read josei stuff. This is too shoujo-ish for me. The MC is similar with otome MC. Really beautiful that attracted many love interests. And MLs simply to biased with her, even tho at times she was unreasonable (especially main ML).

She isn't flexible, too prejudice. Everyone... more>> who gave her grievance in the past won't get her forgiving no matter what. She doesn't realize that "People can change" and "others have their own circumstances". I don't hate ruthless characters, IF their action are reasonable or to protect themselves. But this MC most of the times not. She isn't ruthless but petty. Her scheming isn't even worth to give an applause. When I read revenge novels I wait for the "retribution" time the most and then will clapped my hands hard. But in this novel I don't feel anything, Most of the times I even sympathize her 'enemies' more than MC.

I wonder why she is so childish even after reincarnation. Sometimes I forgot she was reincarnated. The novel will be better if she wasn't reincarnated (maybe just predict the future via dream). I mean IF she didn't reincarnated, it will give justice to her unreasonable actions, since she isn't adult yet.

This Novel only have around 170 chapters. It's shorter than average Chinese novels. But somehow I read this longer than Novel who have 300 chapters. Maybe because in every single chapters author described what characters wore or the food or MC/ML beauty. It made me sleepy/bored real fast since it's TOO repetitive.

And another reason I had hard time read this because ML clearly g*ooming MC, he even acknowledge it in his heart. I know it's ancient time. But I just hate the author romanticized ML actions (which is not, he is creepy).

Personally I want to give this 1/5, but I know this is not the worst novel out there. I give another star because I realized I may not this Novel's target readers. And for the fluffiness (even tho I hate the ML, not gonna lie I like their romance IF I ignored their age-gap and ML's g*ooming). I just hope the author focused on the doting, fluffiness and not on petty revenge plot. <<less

First of all, the translation is excellent.

This was a lively story. It has a few dark moments but not much, it has more funny and sweet moments.

I honestly don't have a problem with the 9 year age gap. It didn't bother me. I liked how the ML treats the MC. They were protective over each other. They treasured each other, I liked that.

If you want to read the story, just read it. If I didn't read this book based on the most of the reviews, I'd have missed this sweet story. I think the reviews mostly discourages people from the books. You decide if the book is good or bad AFTER you read it. Don't decide before you read it please.

MC and the ML has a 9 year gap in age. This bothers me even though she was reincarnated. I mean, he started becoming interested in her when she was 6. Let that sink in.

Also, character development is nonexistent. MC was good with revenge at the start, but as the story goes on, you realize MC and ML doesn't give a crap about anyone else but themselves. One or two of the "karma" story arc that they show are over the top. That person did not deserve all that.

It's a pretty good book. Decent amount of face-slapping, amazing romance with a clean, crazy-for-MC, possessive and obsessed ML. The MC is smart and cautious, does not take any sh*t and more importantly, dishes it out to those who piss her with regularity.

Her best friend, her brother are really good secondary characters. Even the male antagonist who falls for the MC is suitably pathetic that by the end of the story, you will be more inclined to pity him.

The translator has done an amazing job. Especially while explaining the idioms... more>> and the jargons, the various clothing styles and jewellery that the MC and others wore over the course of the story was really translated superbly. So, a round of applause for the translator-sama! <<less

This series is fun to read if you are shallow or can look past the shallow writing. I can be and do that at times so I will give this a good rating on that basis only.

I don't really mind the age thing between the MLs at all because I've seen an experienced this kind of relationship. The age limit convention/standard and law is to protect those who are vulnerable but it can't be rationalized that such affections cannot and do not exist and aren't genuine and true. For this... more>> alone, I want to see how she writes their HE.

What I struggle with in this novel is the author's constant flattery of her MC at every turn in descriptive detail and for every mundane action. If not for this, the novel could be at least have it's length. The author introduces all other characters through the MC who is a big snob and judgemental to boot.

Pick this up if you don't mind a shallow storyline. <<less

This is one of best rebirth novel that hooked you up. This novel is very entertaining and lively. I enjoying very much read this novel. I adored this kind of novel very much. I like MC she is protected toward her family and ruthless toward villain people. I like ML too he is caring and protected toward MC.

worth to read this novel. I strongly recommend you guys to read this very good novel that hooked you up in few chapters

MC and male lead is best and perfect couple of novel. Male lead is caring possessive to MC. He protected her. He is easily jealous when MC pay attention to her fiancé.

Love characters interact. I like MC she was cute, clever she can deceived people with her sweet smile. I love the way she protected her family.

Im not a big fan of time travel and rebirth but considering all that this was great.. It is a revenge story, the MC is clever and smart, acts very quickly according to the situation. The romance is slow but it is in the air, both leads have not realized it yet. The author shows alot of chapters where the MC is still a child which is very refreshing.

The protagonist is a 16 yr old who gets to relive her life from when she is 6.. This is a story... more>> of how her life and others life can be changed with just simple, unnoticeable moments, where our leading lady acts very quickly and very cunningly, first few chapters is a bit confusing but it flows easier after a while. Our leading lady is strong (for her age), extremely beautiful, way beyond smart and is very very very resourceful (which made the ML falls for her) . Wei Luo seems a bit cruel at times but this is all due to her previous life's suffering, but shes very loyal and kind to people who treats her kindly and is ready to change her opinion about others (esp the ML).

I loved that the Male lead is super loyal to his lady but I don't think he thinks of her as his lady yet, hes more like a protector, and hes just starting to feel jealous about other males surrounding her and believe me theres a lot of other males surrounding her.. Male lead is also very cunning and cold to everyone but her, and she has him in her little finger. I have a feeling that the romance will get out of bag very quickly now that the MC is grownup enough.

Also another great thing about this story is the side roles.. There is enough side characters to make the story more deep and not too much as to steal the limelight from the main couple (I hate when too much importance is given to side roles esp in a romance novels). The little titbit's from author at the end of each chapter makes the story even more interesting.

All in all this is a good read and the translators are doing an amazing job.. Too bad the previous translators could not finish it but Fuyu Neko is doing an awesome job.. And hats off to the team for picking this up.. And I would recommend this to everyone. <<less

The MC is the daughter of a rich official household but she got sold by her stepmother and adopted by 2 people in some village... turns out thye wanted her to be a ghost bride.... After her death she finds hershelf back at her old house and vows to take revenge at the people who wrong her (mainly the stepmom)

The story is mostly slice of life with a little focus on revenge... its a nice read <3

First off: Thank you to the translator for the quality translations

It started out strong (beautifully written, great plot, likeable characters etc.) but just goes downhill?

Just not a fan of the direction the novel took. At first the relationship between the MC and ML was cute but then the ML started being kind of creepy and obsessed. Actually wish the MC ended up with one of the secondary leads
