Before her rebirth, Wei Luo was an innocent little girl.

After rebirth, she appeared lovable on the outside but was a different person on the inside.

Those who learned of her true nature yielded to her.

Only the prince regent regarded her as a treasure; no matter how much he pampered her, it was not enough for him.

Anything she wanted, he gave her, including the princess position that she didn’t want, which he stubbornly pushed onto her.

I like the story so far.

The MC gives me a little bit of yandere vibes but it's okay~ (bc ya know! It's the MC! Even a super-angel like-cute girl MC! CUTENESS IS JUSTICE!... Do you thing I'm biased?.. Well yes I like a little bit of yandere sometimes. It's makes me AWWWW SO KYOT! most of the times lol. Well if it's to much yandere.. Well not cool man. I like you torturing and being ruthless to your enemies but leave the innocent people alone MC.)

*spoler (?) *But the only thing that's a no-no for me is the fact that the MC allergic to cute fluffy animal :C Also the ML... 9yrs older.. Maybe Autor-san.. you may overdid a bit..

MC sold as s*ave- escape- become a farmer- tried to comeback- died with disfigured face at 15 year old.

Based by MC past life experiences, theres not much skill and hope for her revenge in the next one.

So this novel probably gonna be kinda slow and halfwit.

But I gonna wait til some more chapters to give my rate.

... omg I finished it, with a lot of my brain turned off I have to add. So much brain rot I cant even remember all the problems with this novel but ill try list a few.

The amount of red flags in this novel is astounding. From unhealthy power dynamics, lack of consent towards most females and FL, toxic personalities masked as "domineering" or jealousy, the amount of disregard for life from the FL despite telling us how much she cares for those lives. The inconsistencies in the story/plot/chatacter designs... more>> are many as well. I couldnt help feeling that the author reeeeeally hates female supporting chacters that doesnt support the FL 100%. Like damn with some if the excessive endings.

For me this novel is basically brain rot and I'm amazed I managed to finish it.

The ending for many of the side character that's "evil" are unfounded and waaaay over the top. Many of the "evil" characted are described as clever and Yada Yada Yada yet act so s*upid >I< start feeling s*upid. Like omg, let it go, stop bothering the FL for the 20th time when NO OTHER time has been successful.

Even the translator points out the s*upid things the author has written, forgotten or just the contradictions existing in the plot/story.

The ML is just not redeemable. Sure he can be romantic and yes it's a "ancient" story with other norms but like seriously? FLs a kid, a fricking kiiiiid while he's an adult. I'm also not a fan of the pseudo in*est trope with this "Big brother" title thing FL calls him throughout the novel, even after marriage. I get it when she was little but seriously? The entire novel? It can be a cultural thing as well but I don't care for it.

The amount of times the FL is just in the way or puts others in danger because she's just plainly unreasonable is a LOT. She's supposed to be an adult mentally but she does NOT act like one. She has her moments when we need to be reminded that she already knows what's gonna happen and to make the age gap less horrible. It's a pet peeve of mine when I'm told a character cares for ppl and then actively disregards the severity of situations and in relation to that put the ppl they care about in danger, even with the risk of loosing their lives. Like BRUH!!!

Theres just so much with this novel that makes me unable to recommend it. If I could give it 0 I would but I can't so the one star goes to the translator who didn't loose their mind while translating this and doing a decent job. <<less

BEWARE of SPOILER

Spoiler

My third attempt to read this novel because I need to be done with it. Lol.

Wei Luo was sold off by her stepmother at the age of 6. But, something went wrong and she was later adopted by a couple in the country-side to be raise as a ghost bride. She managed to escape from that fate but, unfortunately met her end before she found her true family. But, before her death she managed to know that her stepsister was betrothed to her former fiance. When Wei Luo was reborn back to the age of 6, she vowed to get revenge.

The main villain in the book was of course her stepmother. But, somehow the hatred in Wei Luo's heart was so deep that she was even against her stepsister who was almost 5 at that time, her fiance and her yet to be born stepbrother. In her heart, the only person that matter was her twin brother who happened to be a sister-con.

At first, I was happy with the face-slapping. But, after a while, I just wanted to slap Wei Luo myself. She was so badly written that she came out as annoying and spoiled. To make matter worst, the male lead was not even better. One annoying female lead and one annoying male lead made my world go dark. But, the novel was famous. And so, I have to read it just to get it done with.

You know what?

I won’t even lie. I adored Li Song so darn much, and his little chance side story right at the end, deserves an entire story itself. I nearly cried when they just gave me a tiny whiff and then slapped me in the face with nothing else! Give me more! Li Song is domineering and thorough and so passionate and selfish yet also selfless too. His character is far more complicated and his relationship with Wei Luo was also so thoroughly entangled with love and hatred that it... more>> drove me wild over only a couple chapters.

Actual story is alright. Keep in mind Wei Luo in her last life died at 15 and suffered extreme physical and mental torture towards the end of her life. Coming back to the past left her more than a little psychologically ruined. The ML is kind of boring tbh. Idk, even though Wei Luo is a bit of a brat and malicious, at least she’s got that unique character we don’t always see. ML? He’s overused and boring, his “complexity” isn’t deep like Li Song, he doesn’t really learn or grow much? Wei Luo just gains an instant super hand helping the plot through him. ML is all hidden boss styled.

overall 6/10

give me more Li Song after he too goes back into the past... <<less

Ok, dropped.

Honestly, on top of all the questionable things that people have mentioned (I havent quite gotten to all those, but went in with an open mind to it), it was just straight honestly... boring.

Like yeah, the age gap is weird. But I kinda tried to just pretend/ignore the age gap. I didnt even drop it because of that.

It was just boring, and not too well written/planned out. Everything happened to plainly and got resolved super fast. No tensions or interesting plot, nada.

Dropped

I wanted to stick with it bc I love yandere MLs but this novel reads like a very inferior The Yandere Comes During the Night with respect to the character of the FL and the ages of the FL and ML. Historical CN novels are often kinda... yikes, but I could really never get past the ages in this one. Plus I actually feel that the FL is pretty unlikeable— she’s kind of positioned like the green tea FLs of other stories, which I do enjoy... but imo the failing... more>> here is that she’s not really that smart, her “schemes” aren’t that fun, and the characters that get punished in the story are on the whole too pitiful for the reader to ever really enjoy their downfall. I mostly just felt bad for everyone who wasn’t the FL or a friend of the FL. I enjoy the inner court drama, face slapping, etc but that’s all definitely predicated on the idea that the FL is acting (overall) as a good guy and that her targets deserve what’s coming to them. This novel doesn’t give that, and it’s certainly not well-written enough to be a surprise meta exploration of the morality of the behavior we often see in webnovels.

i wanted more historical cn novel yandere goodness after catching up with tyrannical wang’s beloved wife but man has that novel spoiled me for character depth and fully fleshed out plot

OH that’s another thing! Maybe a lot happens in the last part of the novel but as of chapter 120 whatever barely anything had happened beyond ML being a weird perv that hits on little girls and the FL acting “cutely spoiled” <<less

For me the biggest villain in this novel is Wei Luo's dad Wei kun. He is the core reason for most of the tragic endings of some characters in this novel. First and foremost is his wife. How much did he make her feel insecure that a little misunderstanding is enough for her to lose his trust in him to a point that she abandons her children? He left a six wife at home while recovering from giving birth, while he drank away his sorrows of not passing his exams.... more>> How much he "loved" his wife I wonder?

Although Wei Zheng was a villain from Wei luo's point of view, after rebirth she was only a five year old kid. It is a malleable age. But wei kun just abandon his kid without a second thought. If he gave 1/3 of the attention he gives to wei luo to wei zheng, wei zheng would not have had the kind of brutal ending she had. You can't actually blame her 100% for trying to seduce wei luo's fiance. Her dad doesn't give a sh*t about her marriage and she has to take things into her own hands but the sad thing is she ended up in a hell hole instead. Although her mother deserves the punishment she got, in the end wei zheng is a victim having been brought up by a woman like her mother. If wei kun had at least tried a little bit for his children, she wouldn't have been such a vicious person that she came to be.

And Wei Chang Min. Wei kun just threw the kid to his sister in law without a second thought. Although it is true that the kid needed a mother figure, he just didn't even care about his own kid no matter who the mother is. Wei kun is incompitant and irresponsible as a father.

And wei luo. She had to take things into her own hands, whether protecting herself from a vicious step mother or protecting her brother from an ill-fated marriage because of her incompeteant father.

And I also understand why wei luo hate her mother so much. How can a mother just abandon her two kids just like that to fend off against a step mother. In what world did she think that her kids will be well looked after by a step mother. If she cared an ounce for them she should have stayed back for the kids and protected them, even if she no longer trusts her husband. And in Wei Luo's previous life, it is clear that the timeline for other people have flowed more or less the same. Meaning she would have made it back when the foreign emperor came to the capital. If she had given a tad bit care about her children she would have found out the sorry state or at least wei chang hong, and the least she could do is protect him even if she couldn't protect wei luo. But obviously that didn't happen.

And also that Guo lady, Zhao Jie's former fiance. Her ending too was tragic and all because of the mistake of the older generation. The empress kept giving her hope and both her families made her believe that she will be marrying ZJ in the future. So she gave her most beautiful year for him although he clearly showed that he had no interest in her. When ZJ finally married the empress just washed her hands and told her to go marry someone else, like that was such a damn shitty thing to do. You can't blame her for being obsessed over ZJ because her parents gave her hope and the empress even gave her a fake gift saying they are from ZJ when the guy didn't even have a clue. Why should she be the one paying for the mistakes of the older generation?

And in the story I felt like the author sympathize with Li song alot. Which was confirmed in the extra chapter when the author made Li Song reborn and made him get together with Wei luo in another dimension. But I hate Li Song for what he did to wei zheng. He is just an animal in human clothing. And after he was reborn he sees the former wei luo through the pitiful wei luo and just try to get together with her to fulfill his satisfaction. How much of love is in his feeling for that other wei luo?? He hates her and loves her?? How ridiculous is that?? And he is not evena gentelem, after what he did to wei zheng, he has no respect for women. I really hate that the author gave him a good ending at the end. <<less

I'm done with this story the beginning was really good but as chapters passes it only gets worse. With the exception of the very beginning everything goes well for the MC, she has her father, brother, empress, ML, etc on her side and an amazing life. I especially hate how the author put all female characters who weren't MC friends to a miserable end a d all of her friends to a happy one.

her sister was only 6 when she came back. She was heavily neglected by her father, who extremely pampered his other children, didn't have no one love or guidance and when she tries to get herself a good marriage partner (the wrong way, I admit, but the only way she could think of cause her father didn't give a sh*t about her marrying) obviously everything goes wrong and in the end she dies of su*cide after being gangr*ped numerous times by her husband friends and guards

I would like so much to see a story were someone transmigrates to her body or her going back to the past and trying to live a better life

there's the other girl who really wasn't bad. I'm not going to a lot of spoilers, but imagine being rase your whole life to be something, even the empress tells you and when you discover that ain't gonna happen. You'll get sad and mad right? Right! And have all the right to do so

My first ever josei novel and I still love and read it until this day. Don't know why people gave this a low rating, why don't they just accept the story and the circumstances the way they live in? Ignoring that, the story is good and I think it's masterpiece.

This novel is about a MC who had tragic past, so after her time travel she turned into a super selfish bit*h who cared only and only about people who were good to her in her last life and close friends and family. For rest of the characters MC was very emotionally lacking even to sympathise with their tragic situation. Anyways if you are willing to get past this then the whole novel is enjoyable.

MC and ML both are very level headed. And like others I don't have any problems... more>> with their 9 years age gap and both getting married when MC was 15yrs. I mean common on this is a historic novel what do you expect?? Fluffy moments were good. As for mature part well it's more like semi-passing (because only the start of the deed is described) comment here and there. So not like 18R book.

I really like the extra stories where in different world MC and the male antagonist get a chance to have their own happy ending. I liked it alot how male antagonist right all things that he regretted in his previous life.

Definitely recommend.. <<less

So, I've read this quite some time ago but I've re-read it a couple more times because I found it really entertaining. Of course, I'm going to be biased in this review.

What I love about this story is how the author brought out the culture of ancient China. I'm not sure what dynasty this was based on, but when I read it, I could just picture it. The scenery, the clothing and accessories, the food, etc--- which I would like to commend the translator/s for. They did a really good... more>> job about it. That's definitely a big part of why I enjoyed this book.

In terms of plot, character development, world-building, this novel probably doesn't deserve 5 stars. But I gave it 5 stars because, like I said, I enjoyed it. I like the MC (Wei Lou or Ah Lou), at first because of her deviousness. Imagine a six year old child who would decisively and viciously attack her kidnapper. She presents herself to be a simple, spoiled, lovely daughter but is actually always calculating. But then, I have to admit that the author kind of watered down her personality, which made her unlikeable to other readers.

I love the relationship between the MC and her brother.
Spoiler

Although I wish they could have written more about the brother's love life, and let him move on from being a siscon. I was rooting for him and that younger Gao girl.

[collapse]

The ML was the typical, domineering, arrogant, oh-so-perfect, beautiful male God. I love that he was loyal to the MC. There weren't any love triangles from his side and any rival (or hopeful rivals) from the MC's side gets solved by him easily. <<less

An unexpectedly good novel to read for pastime.

I kind of understand why some people would give this a low star - loli tag. But I don't really feel the loli vibe unless someone in the story will brought up her age. The artwork also helps that the MC didn't look that young. Aside from that, I just automatically change the age 13 to 18 in my mind.

I just find the story entertaining. There are some parts that can make me shake my head in disappointment but most of the time... more>> I find it likeable.

The MC is your typical reincarnated, ab*sed but beautiful daughter. What I like about her is how she has some flaws. She's not overly smart or cunning. Her way of revenge is how (I think) a 15/16 y.o naive girl who died and reincarnated would think.

The ML is also that typical overbearing prince who's cold to everyone except for his beloved. There's nothing really special or different about him from other MLs.

The villains on the other hand are everywhere. I just feel sorry for the ending of some of them, most doesn't deserve such an ending.

The winner on this story is the Empress! I won't say much but her life story is very interesting and the ending that she chose for herself is how a great former warrior should choose.

Sadly, this story feels incomplete. It felt that it was ended abruptly just bec I want to read more about the ML and MC's reign, the BFF and cousin's side story, 9th prince side story, and most of all the brother's love story!!

I would have given this story a 5 star bec I really really like this but the side story that the author wrote ruined it for me. There are characters who deserves it more than that character!! <<less

Slow paced slice of life. I enjoyed how she dealt with the antagonists, and her mother issue. I also liked how the empress dealt with the emperor. I was a bit put off by the romance... she is so young it's borderline pe*o so I did not enjoy. I'm not sure I would recommend. Try at your own risk.

4.1/5.0

I wanted to score 3.8 but that will be explained later.

Overall, I enjoyed the adventure of the MC and the unique story frame by using parallel time line concept. It will entertain you from a passive perspective to active perspective of the MC which technique can be mostly found in romance transmigration story. In addition, the way the author engage the complexity of cause and effect story through the MC perspective is something to look for. I can't explain much about this but you'll get what I mean after reading... more>> it.

At first, I thought that this is a typical story centralised to the scheming beautiful MC and ml. But after following up to the end, there are realistic aspects when it comes to both romantic or familial relationship which is a plus to me.

However, there are certain things that I'm not comfortable. Age differences, harassment and the characters 'overbearingness' (the major reason I want to score 3). Well, I could overlook this because there are worst cases like this in real history. And I wanted to see it in positive light such as how the author put the effort on addressing things that are considered taboo, unusual and normal in both ancient tradition or ideology though it may not be perfect.

I feel like the author could do much more to perfect the story frame style and give the characters more depth. And I really appreciate the efforts of the story world building. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed it up to the end. <<less

Good read 5/5

The setting is accurate, highly descriptive and well researched. The principles and morals of the characters may seem “backward” but they are realistic considering the time period of the novel. Fair warning that this novel may not be for everyone’s tastes.

LOVED this story. I really love the plot, the main characters personality, and the characters overall. I really can’t say much, other than the fact that, there are going to be tons of scheming in the beginning, however as you reach towards the end of the novel, it becomes more heartwarming and fluff, especially the end where they show Wei Lou and Zhao Jie’s kids.

Honestly the MC is not a mary sue and clueless innocent type of MC despite her great beauty and innocent facede. Her attitude is more humanly because she doesn't forgive those who have wronged her in the past and present (including her own mother which I truly understood)

I found this novel has its own uniqueness and ML is especially doting.

I kinda felt bad about MC twin little brother not being mentioned in Epilogue...i want to know his ending but author decided to forget him.
