we are told that the Lu family is so good, but then everyone gives Lu Nianqi the cold shoulder and throughout the book he just keeps getting treated really badly, I don't know what the author had against him.

Samoyed MC to Human MC. Yes!! MC will be able to transform at will on the later chapters, cause you see he can't on the earlier ones at least not at will. And ML!! He's so petting to our dear MC. There's also s*xy chapters just so you know. But!! Don't expect much, it isn't heavily described but you'll know when it happens.

I loved the extra where Zuo/Lu/An Ning actually used to be a dog raised by a Taoist monk who became somewhat enlightened before being abandoned, and was found and raised by the ancient times Lu Chenghe until he sacrificed himself to save him. I teared up at Lu Chenghe spending the rest of his life making paintings of his dog and being buried with the paintings. I'm not sure if I read it right since I MTLed, but the reveal that Little Pudding was actually born after Zuo Ning died, and An Ning knew Lu Chenghe as a human in a past life before becoming a dog, was also enlightening. It seems that Ningning has been reincarnating again and again in order to find Lu Chenghe, but it's only now that they managed to get a happy ending together.

The farther the story goes, the more coquettish and spoiled he gets. While a coquettish MC is cute, (specially when he was a dog who really can't do anything else except be coquettish but still more or less a bit measured/cautious) , an adult who only knows to be coquettish and spoiled isn't. Ngl, I was already expecting that of him cause he probably got used to it as 'Little Pudding' but I thought there would be a transition. Like, he's so d*mn dependent on ML he's not even trying much on anything except ML. When he chose the showbiz route I was at least expecting him to really learn acting, strive on it. I wasn't hoping for him to be a Film Emperor or something cause that's too overkill. I also quite liked his idea of taking only few works that doesn't require him to go to far locations cause I want to see more sweets and fluffs. But he's too content and comfortable from all the ML's spoiling that there's no character development at all. I'd even go as far as call it character regression. At this point he's just as spoiled as a brat.

ML also got so boring. He's too overpowered it's boring. He paves every way for MC but he's so overpowered that everything is just so uneventful and anti-climatic. Like, I was excited when MC chose to enter showbiz, when he joined acting classes, and when MC started going to school. My expectations weren't high, I expected a lot of cliches. But even then, it was so unsatisfactory, boring, and anti-climatic.

Then came a sudden death of a character for the sake of suspense for the climax (perhaps) . But it was totally unnecessary and out of place. Imo, this spilt blood was a total misfit to the overall genre of the story and it's just really really really unnecessary to go that far.

ML was willing to keep MC's naivety and simple-mindedness and deal with everything else in the dark, just like a possessive lover. And MC was willing to be pampered and have ML be his whole world, not minding anything else. In the extra, their past life was of a disabled veteran and a supernatural dog, this makes more sense for MC's human-like self but no human-like pride/emotions and some missing common senses. He really was a loyal dog who could turn into a human, and even though he had been a human, he was pampered and protected by his parents before they left and he died too. This feels much more cohesive as a story and compared to the hamster next door, makes more sense for MC's obliviousness and just fit the concept nicely (the hamster has its own pros too).

ML's feelings development also felt gradual enough, even though there was a 'pulled-by-fate' setting at the end. But disregarding the past life, he cared for the dog as a normal pet, then a loved pet, to companion, to lover--without it ever feeling icky. He briefly thought of letting MC be a normal human, but MC was willing to completely be his and he treated him as lover/son/pet/everything.

I also was curious on how ML dealt with the cousin and how MC would've reacted, but the story was rushed at the end so no elaborate scenes. I have mixed feelings for the cousin. While ML wasn't wrong about the consequences of joining the family, I felt cousin was young when he decided it and thus didn't consider much more. The last decision was totally something else, tho. He wasn't exactly a villain, just an unfortunate person, but the lack of redemption moment for him was sad and left a bitter taste. I wish he had chosen different.

It's a bit unsatisfying because it felt short, I think it can be expanded further but overall it has a good ending, if only there are more extra chapters!

The villain are cleaned up neatly but there's no detail on how they're handled, mostly because it's ML who deal with things, and eh it's understandable MC didn't deal with it himself, he's a dog and the problems came because of ML anyway, MC just got in the middle of it because he's ML loved dog/lover

ML family is quite nice too, I always love to read nice family settings for MC/ML.
