At sixteen, Chen Die first met Wen Liang on the street. The young man toyed with his hat, his dark eyes unreadable as he stood over her.

After a long moment, he leaned down, meeting her gaze.

“Want to come with me?” he asked.

And just like that, Chen Die followed him— for six year.

Everyone knew Wen Liang was wild, untamable, and cynical, yet rumors swirled that he had a beauty at home— the campus belle of the Film Academy. Stunning and radiant, playful and elusive, she had grown spoiled and willful under his care.

For years, the two indulged in a passionate, mutually beneficial relationship, fully aware of what they meant to each other. Then, the day Chen Die graduated, she waved goodbye and left.

Decisively, more so than the day she had nodded and followed him.

Wen Liang lit a cigarette, exhaling through the blue-gray smoke, lips curling into a cold smirk as he murmured, “Good.”

After she left, Wen Liang lived as recklessly as ever, seemingly unaffected.

Everyone marveled at how heartless and indifferent Young Master Wen was— so many years together, and yet he let her go without a trace of hesitation.

Then, one day, a tabloid headline surfaced, capturing them both in a scandalous scene—

On a deserted street late at night, rising film star Chen Die delivered a vicious slap to the biggest investor of her new film, leaving the man stunned for a long time.

After the slap, she casually swept her long hair back, her allure undeniable as she softly remarked, “President Wen, I believe we broke up a long time ago.”

Far from angered, the man leaned lazily against his car, l**ked his lips, and praised her, “My little leopard, even your slaps are fierce.”

Chen Die gazed at him with detached indifference, saying nothing.

The ever-playful Wen Liang, known for his devil-may-care attitude, fell silent for a moment. Then, slowly his eyes reddened.

His hands trembled as he carefully pulled her into his embrace, murmuring a name only he knew— “Lingling, be good… come back with me.”

“I would never reach for the moon; I want the moon to come to me.”

Really love this novel! I read the translation for part of it and Mtl-ed the rest, but I’ll definitely reread the whole thing once the full translation is done because it’s such a great story. Huge thanks to the translator for sharing their work..I really appreciate it!

I loved how the female lead stood firm in her beliefs and decided to move out. The male lead was good too-he just needed a little kick to wake up and realize his own feelings. Like people say, don’t take things for granted. The... more>> female lead was lucky to meet him, and they really needed each other. Plus, there wasn’t too much unnecessary drama, which was refreshing.

Oh, and I also really enjoyed the story about her cousin-it added a nice touch!

Spoiler

After they had the twins, I thought the author did a great job keeping the ML’s personality consistent. He didn’t suddenly become super noisy or over-the-top just because he had kids-even with his own children, he stayed true to his character and still focused on the female lead. You could tell he loved the twins, but the FL was always his top priority.

It was a good read. Not something like typical stories I've read about Chinese novels. But it was quite refreshing.

Though I'll be truthful about the 'groveling' part as I kinda find it lacking. Maybe because I expected more but as I read past through it I learned to find beautiful parts of it.

That maybe the separation part wasn't something that would stay longer but rather something that shifts something between them that affects their story for a long while.

It's worth it. It might not be as angsty nor as satisfying... more>> as you might as expected but it got some quirks in it.

Spoiler

I felt like the separation part was just kind of shift for ML to realize his own feelings and act on it.

His reaction isn't so explicitly so grovelling or something like that but it'll get better trust me.

He'll learned to not lived without her. Like she'll literally be the center of his life. Not so blatantly but quite so deeply that I find it endearing.

Also, I kinda find their dynamics so refreshing. I rarely find it on main couples because most probably ML would be so overly sweet after break up that it'll be totally different from his introductory character.

It's so hard to explain ML would loved FL but their dynamics was something different. Just read it trust me. <<less
