Delicate Best Friend of the Female Lead

Description

As soon as she opened her eyes, the sickly An Xia found out that she had actually entered a dog-blood novel with wrong moral views! Reborn as the female lead’s best friend, the short-lived ex-wife of the overlord male lead, and the gold digger mother!

The attributes were really unlucky, short-lived, and cannon fodder! In the book, the original owner was forced to have a miscarriage and injured her body. In the end, she was pissed alive by the touching love between the heroine and her rebellious son.

An Xia lowered her head and looked at her pregnant lower abdomen…

Sickly An Xia cried bitterly!

Sickly An Xia: Oh! Finally, I have a healthy body! Heyaaa! \(^o^)/~ Eh, eh, eh? The transmigration also came with a golden finger to keep the body healthy?

Wait wait wait! Σ(⊙▽⊙”

It seems that something is not quite right with this golden finger! Why was there bruise on her skin just after blowing on it? Why was it so fragile! (⌯˃̶᷄ ﹏ ˂̶᷄⌯)゚

Worthy for some of your free time.

I recommend it when u want a dog blood drama but not truly bloody dog blood 🤣.

This actually quite relax and u could just enjoy it. Don't take it too serious or think too deep bcs this good for u to just relax and take vacation. U could still enjoy it. But if u used too much of your brain's cells, it would only hurt you and gave u some headache, ah!

... more>> This story only some entertainment, okay.

Sometime we also need to take some holiday for our tired heart and brain or mind. Someone we also must had dream something silly like have meet our soulmates and grand wedding. LoL

Still story could at least fulfill those silly and absurd ideas of our day dream

Note : Initially I hesitated to read because of the 1-star review and thought this story was an annoying or disgusting dog blood story where it is only fit for brain death. But I was wrong. Lol. This story is not that bad. In fact, it turns out that this story is simpler and lighter than another novel that so-called dog blood drama! Hahaha I want to laugh. Actually, it quite amusing if u not take it too serious and read it in neutral mood or state. Don't rush too judge it or don't rush to have any prejudice. It will only harm you (your mind) and make you tired. You won't be able to enjoy any book if your initial condition in reading a story is taking the judge before try to read it.

Well, some books out there are really bad even before 10 chapters but there are also books that are actually not as bad as we imagine when we are neutral in reading and evaluating them. I'm also the type of person who doesn't like stories filled with s*upid characters or brain damage. But this book is still within the limits of my tolerance and instead amuses me. <<less

This is pretty much average in every way, with a couple of exceptions. The chapters are really short; you can read one in the span of 3-5 minutes if you're not rushing. It excels at being a good novel fodder for someone who doesn't know what to do on breaks at work and doesn't wanna socialize. You can easily knock out 3-4 chapters in a 15 minute break, and it's not so interesting that you'll overstay once you've reached a chapter's end.

But... yeah, this has serious flaws. ... more>>
Spoiler
  1. The Golden Finger. It's never explained what exactly it does. We're told she gets maximized benefits from touching nutritional things, and can figure out the basic composition of any compound she touches. That's all that's explained to us. However, it seems she can use her golden finger to make other people healthier as well, but doesn't say how, just states it like it's obvious. Also, even though she's never cooked a day in her life until her transmigration, she's got the skills of a 5 star michelin chef when she tries recreating dishes she's had, just because she knows the ingredients contained in the dish? I know for sure, this author doesn't know a thing about cooking. Putting aside obvious variables, such as cooking temperature and time, prep work, blending speed, etc., it was never stated anywhere that she knew the ratio of ingredients. Cooking is essentially chemistry. You don't magically shove oxygen and hydrogen atoms into a container, expecting pure, clean drinking water. Then again, it also insinuates that her golden finger maximizes the nutrition and deliciousness of everything she makes (as if nutritious = delicious, if only!), once again without explaining it.
  2. Obnoxious People. I do know there are terrible people in the world, and schadenfreude is a thing for a reason. That said... what is with the proclivity of this trope of kicking people when they're down in Chinese novels? Is that just how Chinese people are, glorifying the strong and kicking the weak, taking joy in others' sorrow? Is this their culture? A standard lack of empathy?
  3. Instant Fame. She randomly decides to make a food blog as a hobby, a couple celebrities forward it, and she's rolling in fans. She randomly decides to buy a large forest garden home for her family, gets it spruced up for her mom's birthday, and a random family member who filmed it forwarded it, with it eventually becoming the #1 post on Weibo (can't have a Chinese novel without the main character getting the #1 post on Weibo, Jesus) reaching one of the creators of a reality show who want to use it? She doesn't know what she wants to do with her life, all she wants right now is to take care of the original owner's family, but everything she does lays out her flower path for her. She's even got a celebrity who's secretly a rich boy drooling over her.
    [collapse]
On the bright side, the face slapping is a little satisfying, but even that's pretty typical. The only strong points are that she didn't immediately accept the original owner's child for easy meng points and she's always being considerate of the original owner's feelings. <<less

Dropped this one. Translator has done a good job. Putting that aside, reasons for dropping it.

1) The ML is introduced too late. I have read fair share of novels where the ML is introduced in later stages but then in those cases there is lot more happening in FL’s life, either it’s her struggle to get divorce, raising kids, or trying make ends meet - something is happening and main focus is not romance.

In this novel, FL practically gets everything in first 50 chapters on a platter.

My point is if... more>> there is a romance arc in the novel (especially in a slice of life), I believe the author should introduce ML early on so that the readers can be more involved with it.

2) Reviews aren’t that good.

3) FL isn’t that great. I mean I get why she is the way she is and also I am fine with her abortion (although I do believe FL shouldn’t have taken it so lightly) but I just didn’t find her entertaining - FL is just bland for me.

All in all, I might’ve finished it but chapter 45ish onwards it became too slow for my liking. <<less

Easy novel to read. The hook is very simple.

  • I like how the MC handled Jiashu (og owner's son) and the ex husband.
  • Minmin! MVP! The whole time I was thinking how she should be the main character. Such a good friend.
- The aspect of FL being an 18 year old and acting like a child is a bit off tbh.

Overall: A really nice read.

Fluffy relaxing read with dog blood characters and wish fulfilment plot. Transmigrated MC learns to her live her life for herself. Translation is great. I liked most of the novel, where the FL is kind of careful and reasonable (she immediately gets rid of the s*um husband and builds a new life with her family), meets a nice ML, and has a female best friend who is ready to sue everyone for her. The author does cram in several reborn and transmigrated characters, super jealous/malicious young women, infatuated rich/handsome men, mini-story arcs about the entertainment circle, variety competition music show, overseas mega-rich trips, brain dead social media wars, online cooking channels, hidden noble heir, business empires, and unimaginably luxurious lifestyles of the rich and more rich. The last bit was tedious because instead of interesting actions by the MC, it became simple cliche superlatives of how rich and amazing the MC and ML were, with excessive online comments from netizens. I wish her gold finger featured more, and that the MC had more scenes. I did like the epilogue which showed the ending of the s*umbag ex-husband
Spoiler

(after 50 years of living virtuously and regretfully, he gets reborn into a parallel timeline, and another opportunity for redemption).

I'm rating it 4 stars because while it could be better, I've also read a lot worse.

I will not speak in great detail as I believe the others before me have done so nicely. But I will say this, this book — although made reasonable decisions — was unlikable.

Like I said, in the bigger picture the actions and decisions of the characters was not exactly unreasonable for the most part, however the overall feeling I got from this novel (or perhaps it was the translation, but I don’t think so) that the tone was childish or the author was very young and this translated into the... more>> writing. Either way, I didn’t find it appealing.

On top of that, I thought the novel was too lengthy. It was never ending. It is not that I dislike novels with 100+ chapters, but this novel felt draggy.

The one thing that I liked about this novel was the first part where the divorce occurred and the FL said a speech. I cried.

Overall 3/5 but I wish I could give it 2.5 as that would be a solid 5/10. <<less

Sorry, but I am dropping it because of mc's son. It's not that I dislike her son, but is just that I feel he is too pitiful. (Following statement may contain little spoiler) There are two transmigrators and two reborn characters in this story and mc's son who is only 5/6 years old is one of the reborn characters. It's clearly stated in the story about his previous life struggle and revenge and the ultimate end of his life by dying. MC (who is only 18🙄) can accept the family... more>> of the previous body's owner but can't accept the child of the previous owner fully in her heart. Okay, I get it😐. What irritates me is that, when that child wants to get revenge against his father and stepmother, MC doesn't try really hard to stop him. I MEAN HOW CAN YOU LET A LITTLE CHILD LIKE THAT GET REVENGE, he didn't get a happy life or a happy childhood in his previous life, so he should have gotten a happy life or at least a happy childhood in this life. I know he is an adult in a child's body, but in his previous life, he actually went mad and revenge against everyone who hurt his mother, SO IS HE OBELIZED TO GET REVENGE IN THIS LIFE TOO. At least in this life he should have forgotten the revenge and led a happy life or at least a happy childhood (revenge could have waited until he was an adult again). I really pity his character. 😥😥😥😥. <<less

In all honesty, it's not a horrible story--but it's not really good either. The beginning was very interesting--but as the story progressed the plot holes in the story became too big to ignore. I often find it unbelievable; to a point where it borderlines fantasy. The deus ex machina was also quite strong, the FML's extreme beauty and the people brought together by her golden finger (cooking) basically solved everything for her with little to no effort.

There are also many points in the story where the brain level there was... more>> in the negatives and you can't fathom why it would be resolved how it was.

Spoiler

In the beginning, the FML had an abortion and the author outright downplayed it. I usually don't have an opinion on this subject but just reading that event made me discomforted.

The other thing that was emphasized throughout the novel was about how she was 26-years-old but she seemed like an 18-year-old. It's understandable that the MC's actual age was 18 when she passed, but no one really needed to be reminded every two chapters that she's just a teenager. She's just basically a white lotus that's super beautiful and has crazy luck.

Another thing was that (at this current spot in the story), the MC has not cleared up one misunderstanding. Cliche enough, the misunderstandings caused more misunderstandings that worked in her favor.

[collapse]

As of right now, the romance factor was kinda there, not really. But you can feel that the ML was devoted to the MC (talking about Huo Ci and not the father of her child), and I wouldn't really call it 'fluff' as it's a little lacking.

But, if you're interested in the story, I would suggest that you probably wait a bit. The current translator split the original story into smaller chapters, which drags the story, but fortunately, it doesn't affect the pacing (as of now). If you do decide to read, you'll just catch up on the chapters rather quickly and wait painfully for the next update. <<less

MTL 4☆

REVIEW: 3☆

Nice simple read. I quite like it. Tho, there's alot of lacking details to the story.

Spoiler

I feel like there were a lot of muddled explanations (like her golden fingers, how it works, whats the use). Later on there were a lot of left behind details (her golden finger, her cooking aspirations, her being 'delicate' was left behind too, etc). I feel like the antagonists (T. Zhixin, J. Mini, H. Feiyu, A. Ning) ending were not satisfactory. No proper ending for Mo Jiashu (except that he didnt marry later on in life). How OriHost actually got pregnant twice when ExHusband hated her so much is beyond me. No details on ML's Parents (except that his mom is dead). MC and ML's life after marriage is nada. ML's background was not explained (except he is a noble heir or something).

[collapse]

Also, for the record, I would have love it better it Mo Jiashu got his second chance with his mother instead of a second chance for his father. <<less

When I start reading it I didn't expect it to be this good. Usually, this kind of story starts a little good until the middle of it to be terrible. This story was unexpectedly good.

The original MC really broke my heart. I hoped this was a rebirth story.

I can't go on anymore I'm sorry. 1 star for the novel and 4 stars for the translations.

The novel had good potential at first (especially the story of the OG body and the emotions with it) but I feel like MC's just getting s*upider and s*upider chapter by chapter. It was fun, yes, but the more chapters I read, the more bothered I am. I mean I get that she's still 18 year old but ughh, I can't even tell you with how frustrated I am with her actions and... more>> way of thinking. There's too many plot holes and although I love her family, the story's not just not realistic enough - it's a typical 2D story.

MC have the protagonist halo, ML gray stu. AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED WITH HOW OG HUSBAND WAS SO EASILY FORGIVEN LIKE *sigh*

Anyways, future me, don't read this. Not recommended <<less

Only read a few chapters, but seems pretty cute and nice. Not much romance. But FL is happy and strong, she does what she want to do and goes back to her family and treats them good.

The ex husband... I dont understand him. He and FL has a child togheter, and when they were married, he refused her to have any contact whit the son. And becouse of that the son hates FL thinking she dosent want him. And now in newest chapter the ex husband has the guts to... more>> complain that FL dosent care about their son, when he was the one who refused her to see him. She left ex husband and her child behind becouse they both hate her and want to get rid of her, and alredy has another woman that ex husband loves and the child also loves. She dosent wanna stay behind and be a third weel.

Im gonna be pissed if she ends up going back to this ex husband. Yes he gave her a lot of money for the divorce, but that is not a reason to forgive him for destroying the mother/son relationship and bringing another woman into the picture.

I do hope FL gets a mother/son relationship whit her child, but I also hope she finds herself a new man to live her life whit. He dont deserve her. <<less

First of all, the translation is good and I should shout out to the translator who had done her/his best to translate this novel.

For the novel itself, I don't even know how to describe this novel. When I read the first few chapters, it was still good, the FL fixing all of the previous soul's sins and trying to take care of her parents. Later, she discovered that she had a special power to help improve their life.

Later, she met a boy (the real ML) and from this timeline, the... more>> story became so unrealistic and boring asf!!!

I hate the ML because of his cluelessness, manipulation, and egoism. He gaslighted the FL to believe what he suggested was a good way for her to experience something new, while actually, he did it for his ego. I didn't like how the story turned out.

Spoiler

The most outrageous thing that happened in this story was all the characters were either reborn or transmigrated, even the female cannon fodder that was barely mentioned.

[collapse]

IT SO MESSY!!! After 20 chapters so ish, I didn't even read one paragraph, just scrolled down to know the bigger picture of this story.

So, if you looking for a good reading, don't read this novel 'cuz it will only make your head dizzy.

Ps. I never found a novel as messy as this one. I always read novels that received bad reviews, but turns out, after I read it, the novels' story was good. However, for this one, huft, I really can't say a good word. A star already me being generous to the author. <<less

Overall it was good. Even though at the beginning, I kinda don't like the MC because of her naive nature, easily shy and others, well it can't be help because MC was a patient in last life then she didn't have experience enteract with other people.

Still it's good, especially the regret years of Mr. MO.

tl;dr: If you're looking for a "Mary Sue Conquers the Plot, BECAUSE!" ditzy read, it's enjoyable. Not the best, not the worst.

Without giving spoilers, I cried, I laughed, I skimmed through boring stuff, and I had a bit of shoe's-on-the-other-foot-amusement for the cultural ignorance of the author in parts having to deal with locals outside of China -- because I see a lot of ignorance of foreign cultures in the people I interact with every day.

This is what I consider a Mary Sue self-insert novel, and I happen to like... more>> those types of novels. The first quarter of the book is setting up the female lead as she gets away from the original story, and then the male lead makes his debut. There are a lot of rainbow farts from the author toward the female lead especially, which comprised some of the skim through sentences, but I think if you know that going in it won't be so bothersome to come across.

The translation at Wordrain is a meh part. In a lot of places it was decent, and in other parts it felt like a not-so-well edited machine translation. But, as someone who reads a lot of web novels, I found the overall grammar was about average, with some odd or blatantly wrong word choices.

One point I saw that others brought up a lot: the story starts with FL agreeing to OML's demand to abort. *Don't* skim her reasoning. <<less

Hmm, what can I say? The abortion was really not handled properly let’s begin with that. It’s kinda a plot hole? The ML originally said, either divorce OR abortion, but he both forced the MC to divorce him and abort the kid. Which was actually a great point of conflict, but still a plot hole. It is a thankless task to not only have a kid for someone who hates you, but have a kid that isn’t your own. However, was it really necessary to put that into the plot... more>> and brush over it? The original host may have tricked her husband into conceiving the child (which was also never explained 🙄how she did it) but it’s still HER body and HER child. How can someone threaten someone into a abortion with an ultimatum and than not even make it an ultimatum but a command? If MCs task was to fulfill the original host will, wouldn’t she want her child to be born, or not come into conception to begin with? It just solidifies that the original host’s husband was s*um even if he was deceived. This isn’t pro-choice y’all, in essence this was a forced abortion and everyone in the comment section is praising the author for this like it’s woke and not completely messed up. On the other hand, the original host could also be a bit scummy. No matter what forcing your partner into creating a child against their consent is wrong and it seems like she did it twice, so both the couple lowkey is made for the each other with their questionable morality. The MC is a white lotus who’s actually naive not scheming, but her actions effected others the same way. She never explains any misunderstandings and gets endless benefits from it, everyone falls in love with her, while the author can’t go one page without talking about how beautiful she is
Spoiler

to the point her own brother fell in love with her persona in a TV show... which was weird tbh

[collapse]

She always happens to meet extremely reliable and talented people to help her and everything goes her way. What would happen to this dummy if she trusted someone bad? She’d be destroyed.

The author gives her a golden finger at the beginning of the novel and only mentions it for less than 15-20 chapters at most and than it becomes completely irrelevant in essence.

This be okay if it was just a simple feel good novel, but the author had to throw in complicated and dark undertones at the beginning of the book about the original host and her family than drop it all like a hot potato but of course the MC is benefitted from that sad backstory that wasn’t her own because she never opens her mouth to reveal anything ! She became the type of female lead I hate the most, s*upid, benefitting from everyone and never really realizes the author bias. This was also sooooo drawn out that it doesn’t make any sense <<less

Wow, this novel opens up with a really controversial issue. I struggled a bit with it, it really left a bad taste in my mouth and tainted my perception of the novel and its major players. I eventually resolved it for myself and I like the novel, but it is not for everyone, truly.

Spoiler

The FL is a sickly 18years old girl with a good pure upbringing (and a fiance) who dies from her illness. All her life her dream was to be healthy, normal. Alas. She died on the operating table.

Then she discovers that she is now in a pregnant body of a cannon fodder from a novel. This 26y.o. Woman is hated by her husband (his POV: she forced him to marry her and tricked him to imp**gnate her twice), he does not want the baby and he does not want her either, but he wants the full custody of their first son.

If the FL does not abort, she will miscarry when the fetus is 7 months old, will become terribly sick, lose her uterus and eventually die young. She read about it in the novel.

So, the first thing that the FL does in chapter one is to agree to all three requests of the OG's husband, abort his baby, grant him divorce, give the older child's custody to the child's father. She did not even ask for a penny from him, he does not owe HER anything, just agreed to divorce.

This agreement to abort was very controversial. A life was lost. Well, an embryo was lost to save its mother's life. I could not help but feel terrible and sad about it. Instinctively, one would want the FL to keep the baby and to be a mother for both kids. She owes the OG, whose body she is occupying, that much.

Still, from a rational point of view, it was not her decision to make. She was an unwilling intruder in someone else's body. That woman was no longer alive (unable to choose between the baby and the husband, the OG killed herself), it was truly the OG's husband's right to decide the embryo's fate. Prior to the abortion, the FL had no idea that she now posessed a golden finger that will allow her to be healthy even if she kept the baby and would never hemorrage, nor die young.

It the baby's daddy a monster? Again, it's a gray area. He wanted the divorce more than he wanted abortion of that evil woman's spawn. By suggesting abortion he actually was suggesting the OG to make a pro life choice, to keep the baby if she agreed to divorce.

He also did not know that his hateful villainous wife was dead, only the old bodily shell was still here (with a new soul inside). Had he known that, he would have kept his baby, asked the FL to carry it to full term, I am sure. He wanted to take care of his first son after the divorce, he would've cared for his (tragically unborn due to huge misunderstanding) daughter just as well.

this story is a mess (many plot holes, mary sue MC, bla bla bla...). HOWEVER if u want to turn off ur brain and read without expecting anything... it can be worth it. the story is really predictable but that also means you don't really have to worry about unnecessary stuff. for example, everyone who is "bad" will get their cheeks clapped eventually. which can be entertaining and satisfying itself. but what really made me finish was the angst towards the end. mr. mo is undeniably bastard and I... more>> truly think he got what he deserved. does that mean he doesn't deserve sympathy or forgiveness?? I don't think so bc from my own "life philosophy", everyone deserves second chance IF they sincerely regret, reflect and make active steps towards better. call me naive or whatever but the truth is it's actually quite good retribution. <<less
