The story isn't so bad if some parts are given some thoughts such as the barbarian's mass mu*der. Or how the MC, himself, was so drawn to a 15-year-old ML pre-rebirth.

Also, no matter how I think about it, it's so off that ML at the age of 15 (turning 16) is pregnant again. Additional, one year after that is pregnant with twins.

If I want to justify this, I would say that ML is just on the right age of marriage because that just how it is back then. But I... more>> can't grasp that fact at all with our present principles.

And I find it ironic though that MC only learned he love ML after ML's death. Like 👀 okay he sacrificed his life for me, I love him already. <<less

I tried to like this novel, I really tried hard enough, but still I couldn't. I don't have anything against s*um gong though as most of my favorite novels has s*um gong in them. Mpreg is my guilty pleasure too. Homever this novel ... more>>
Spoiler

make me feel like I'm reading an old man sexually g*ooming a young child and I was uncomfortable reading it. I know in ancient time (not just China though but most ancient civilization) deemed 14 is marriageable age. Not in this novel though, the gong set his eyes up on his shou as early as 10 years old! And he's also started visiting his shou and kissing him while he's asleep at 11, and at 12 they started to perform s*xual act. IT IS NOT OK FOR ME. What irks me the most is that the author keeps mentioning the shou's age, making the underage situation more noticeable. Author, really?

[collapse]

It seems like I need to move on to other well written novels then. <<less

Though I read with MTL, I will definitely read it again when the translation is completed. The story is super sweet and super cute. I've enjoyed very much.

*spoiler*

Because this story was based on ancient china, shou's age is a little too young when they papapa for the first time. Cough Cough. But it was within the acceptable level. The gong really treasured his baobei so much that I was full of dog blood right now.

Anyway, I recommend this story!!!!

When you've read too many court drama with complex MCs who took chapters to scheme something, simple MLs like Jia Bao are like refreshing breeze. Sure, this novel did dealt with questionable themes which might be your personal squick, but that's common in novels about ancient China, so that's that.

My real rating is 4.5 stars because the author likes to describe unnecessary things i.e family lines and court relationship in long paragraphs. I can't care less about who is whose daughter or this concubine is this super important person's niece.

This novel is like a extra story from tragic novel. The gong is fulfilled his obsession to shou... The plot is ok.. everything is decent.. it's fluffy sweet and good for light reading. But everything is like shoujo novel.. even when the characters do something weird everyone seems to accept it.

I'm slightly disgusted with the gong... He rebirth after being emperor 30 years. So his mental age is like forty of fifty but he is lusting 14 years old.. which ok for ancient story... I just can't accept he kind... more>> of mol*sting shou before shou officially enter his harem....... <<less

In the past life he's a r*pist (altho it was influenced by alcohol but still), and in the second life he become a groomer.. This gong really 🤣.

I read this in hopes that my wounded and troubled heart that suffered from a dog-blooded court drama I've read be healed.. I was indeed healed but MC's actions made me face-palmed most of the time lol.

Tbh, the plot and characters were not that great. And MC's sudden turnover of feelings from 0 to 180 still weirded me out. But I guess the... more>> fluff and pampering manage to make me stay. A wife-s*ave is still better than a gong that only knew how to brew misunderstandings and toxic relationships *nods head*. <<less
