Overall a good story I would read it again. Three and a half stars but I’ll round up this time. But it does fall in to the same pattern as a few of my recent reads where the build up to the relationship is good but once they get together I lose interest as well as building up a main villain only for him to be quickly resolved and the true villain is just a rush job. The translation could be a bit rough and honestly so many of the... more>> characters have similar names it could get confusing.

The main characters:

  • MC is a sweet girl, not weak in the slightest honestly very competitive and a good soul. Other than learning how to be a business man, she doesn’t have much growth in her part of the story. But she’s still a nice character to follow.
  • ML ends up being my favorite character. He’s just too cool. ML has emotional issues that causes him to isolate himself, partially caused by his own grief partially because of his grandpa shipping him off to abroad. He’s a very good worker adaptable, capable but not exactly like a typical ceo character since those guys can still be charming and personable. That is something ML had to work on but even then the change was only him to MC and not his family even though he believes it has. In my opinion his relationship improvements with his own family is only because of MC changing the opinions of others to ML, he still acts the same towards them when he’s in his own body. But you do see him be more warm to her family since her family has always treated them sincerely. He really aced being an actor because of his own skills and if he did have to act differently they ended up switching. Honestly I feel bad for MC since all of her big accomplishments for acting aren’t really hers but his. And she loves her work but again I’d feel disappointed if my success was technically someone else in my body.
The romance:

  1. initially they both have doubts because of his emotional coldness. He’s pragmatic about the switch and was prepared to marry her for convenience if they couldn’t switch back. She doubted for a long time that he could truly love her because he lacked love growing up and he only wanted her because of said convenience. He doubt she could endure his personality and high walls since she was such a warm person. But seeing him thaw and slowly fall for her was sweet. I think my issue was how suave and smooth talking he became after just reading a few how to chase your crush gave me the ick because he still acted like an iceberg everywhere. It came off insincere in my opinion. Also reading descriptions of MC acting cutesy or flirty in his body also icky to me. Cold domineering ceo acting cutesy doesn’t always work without a visual. I think it’s just harder to pull off solely in words.
The love rivals:

  • There’s really only two main love rivals and honestly it’s not a competition for who wants the ML but the MC whether she’s in a man’s body or not. There are a couple minor rivals but are dealt with quickly or pushed to the side. One becomes a friend but she still like MC the most and the other was built up to be a bigger threat than he turns out to be

    after a rejection on tv he stops and focuses on his company but he does still like her. I don’t know it just felt lackluster after he’s been built to be a threat against them both. He ends up helping them catch the final boss

    it’s funny though, the summary had you thinking ML would be using more of his power and influence to spoil the MC with resources but his love rivals and sister did more of that than him. He thinks she’d like to do things on her own but if she’s succeeding because of his skills she might as well accept resources too

    I figured grandpa was part of the final story line. I just didn’t realize he would help a mu*derer, I thought at best it’d be some ceo rivalry or inter family battle for control of the family/business. His oldest son killed the youngest (MLs parents) and tried to kill ML. But he loved them all so he sent away ML for safety. Initially I thought it was train a cold pragmatic smart heir who wouldn’t put family connections ahead of it - something that his father did since he trusted his big brother that led to his and his wife’s death- since all his other sons and grandchildren were spoiled and dumb but no it was just guilt and neglect to keep hims from being a threat. Which doesn’t make sense if you’re just gonna put a target back on him by making him family head. I did like the fake out they plotted to trap him but it was all left to the last 20 chapters of a +200 chapter novel. And we never learned why they needed to swap beyond they needed to broaden their horizons and learn from each other. But like I said ML was the only one with real growth and it was only related to showing affection to MC & her family and not so much with his own kin. The author acts like he did but really no. And I thought the monk that told them that would appear again but nope. Not even to tell them they’ll stop switching or explain why/how etc. I just like knowing I don’t know if that was an issue for others though

The base story is a solid 5 stars, but for those who care about English, what you'll be getting from this NU listing is a very good machine translation, with an editor who is lazy and gets drunk. The pronouns shift with abandon, and the name of a single show can change ten times over ten different chapters. It shouldn't be enough to dampen the average person's enjoyment, but if you can read Chinese, the original is much better.

An absolute joy to read! I love this novel a lot! There's sufficient drama and face-slapping, along with a healthy dose of romance. The romance is so sweet and good.

First up: the FL and ML are both very well-written characters with their own quirks.

FL is an optimistic, hardworking girl who was blessed with an awesome bod but this makes people think she's a sl*t/vixen. FL doesn't care and sticks to her principles. She's a tough cookie. She has a high EQ and is really good at socializing. When she enters... more>> ML's body, she actually helped him forge friendships and pave ways for his company to do better. She is smart enough to also assist in the company affairs!

ML on the other hand, isn't your average ice cold indifferent ML. Sure he has those aspects but there's a reason for why he is like that. Once he takes over FL's life, he actually works hard at FL's job too and he even socializes with people out of his comfort zone. He is adorable.

Side characters are great too! Absolutely love Shuling and Yinyue! Song Lecheng's change to be an idle 2nd gen rich is also so amusing and I like how he tried to change his ways at the end. Cheng Yewen is a surprise.

Honestly this story has a solid storyline and while we never find out why FL and ML swap bodies, all other plotlines are nicely done. I do wish we had extras for what happened with Bai Yinyue.

I do find it funny that FL worked hard at ML's job and manage to make all the employees love her till they work so hard they doubled the company's profits.

And then all of FL's success as an actress is actually due to ML acting for her. Like seriously, FL has three works - a spy movie that ML acted in, another movie about a cold blooded killer that the ML also acted in (FL does act in the 2nd half), and finally the Book of Kings movie that the ML also acted in from start to finish for a few months!!! FL technically only did half a movie and one variety show. So all of "Zhong Ruanxing"'s fame is due to ML's efforts hahahahahah. I wish we had extras again on FL winning an award!!

This novel could be better if we had moreeeee.

Still absolutely enjoyed it though. Can't wait for the official translations! <<less

A rare stable yet humorous body swap story. I really enjoyed reading it! The author's writing seems steady and enjoyable. The plot is interesting, and the tone is intriguing~

FL is a sunny girl who strives to improve (compete with ML) , optimistic, bright and always cheers herself up (and especially others) . Her career path is full of obstacles and pressure from 'powerful' people, but she steadily persevere due to her love of acting.

ML is the opposite. He was apathetic (not a personality, but a medical condition he developed from his childhood environment). He was cold, aloof and ruthless. But he was also very rational and take everything in strides.

Them being in each others' shoes (literally) put life into perspectives and reshaped their life views. To survive is to tolerate each others' and their own flaws and optimise each others' and their own strengths~

What I really like about this story is the pace; it's not too rushed, and not too slow. The first chapter, the leads had already swapped bodies. And from this event, you can already understand a bit of their personalities.

I also like the side characters. They have their own stories, and yet their presence makes the story more lively~ even the villains (except the really low IQ ones) give extra colours and sounds to the leads' already vibrant and thrilling lives~

The body swapping was mysterious until the end, and seems to be the new norm for them. Having some other characters knowing this secret makes it more fun. Just that the secret of the ML's parents put a bit of a damper to the ML's family dynamic, and this is heart breaking.

The story has warmth of family and friends, face slapping villains, redemption and especially character growth. ML is definitely the MC here because from being unable to feel emotions, he develops love towards FL and care of others who are around him. He's the biggest winner~

... more>> It is an interesting read and does not drag on unnecessarily. The ending was a bit fast paced and with issue being resolved too fast. But I don't mind as it is better than dragging it for multiple chapters.

Only issue is that the translator has mixed up names and pronouns multiple times throughout. But pronouns mixup personally didn't take away the readability all that much because of theme of swapping.

I was really bothered with name mixup. It impacts the readability quite a lot. But it does get better later on.

Overall a great story. <<less

I'm sorry for leaving a review even before I finished reading this novel...

I'm halfway through of the story but I just had to drop it because I can't stand how the body swap works... The ML is basically good at everything, like he could still manage the company WHILE learning to be a good "actress". But how about our FL? Nah she just body swapped and do nothing (literally).

The most frustrating thing for me is basically the not-good-at-acting FL doesn't have any development in acting nor the business at all. The Actress who's good at acting and being praised by others is the ML NOT the FL. Like, he spent more time inside the FL's body... He acts better, he's the one who did everything meanwhile the author leave the FL in the ditch. I was enduring it, waiting for the FL to return to her own body and start being a good actress but nope! It's still the ML inside the FL's body at every crucial time! What's the point of FL's existency if everything was managed by the ML?

Basically: ML plays solo and he's good at it (acting + business), while our FL just being a clown.

This was a very well written and executed gender bender and body swap novel. There's not many out there so I appreciate the few that stand out. It was a pleasure to read.

Zhong Ruanxing is a great character. She was sabotaged in her career because of her strong morals and principles. She refused to succumb to the unwritten rules of the entertainment industry. So her career hasn't moved forward for years since her debut because of that. But she remains optimistic and hopeful.

The main lead, Song Jingxing, is opposite of... more>> the female lead. His condition makes him unable to feel emotions and react like a "normal" person would.

When they switch bodies, they have to learn how to act like each other so they don't get caught. FL helps ML learn how to feel emotions and helps him form genuine bonds with his relatives. ML helps FL in her career. He helps her act and helps clear the people who were sabotaging her. They were learning how to walk in each other's shoes and their flaws were highlighted in a real and relatable way. They also learned ways to fix their flaws or cope with it.

The only thing I didn't like was the translation. The translator kept switching people's names, pronouns and etc. The assistant had like 5-6 different names. It was confusing but that didn't stop my enjoyment of the story. It was a minor annoyance.

Overall, I really enjoyed this story. The plot was interesting. The pacing was neither to fast or to slow. There was character development and growth. Everything I look for in a novel could be found in this one. I just wish there were more chapters or even special ones. I'd have like to read about their wedding or special chapters about children or even her winning acting awards. <<less

The translation quality is a little spotty some chapters, but the story itself is a fun read that I really enjoyed.

The MC was a delight, I love that she was just a genuinely charming, pleasant person. Her journey through the novel was mostly career struggles, and the body swap with the ML helped resolve her troubles nicely. The ML started off stiff and cold, but his journey was emotional rather than career-oriented, so the body swap gave him the chance to become more open and actually feel things. It was... more>> nice to see an ML actually develop emotionally overall rather than remaining cold to everyone except the love interest; he actually learned how to get along with other people as well, although he's more aloof by nature.

I loved that the MC's little sister figured out the body swap almost immediately, because their sisterly relationship was so close and a little kid wouldn't think switching bodies is too fantastical to be real, lol. She was so cute, I loved her.

Loved this story. Very enjoyable and easy to read.

The FL (gorgeous, sunny, unpopular actress) and ML (cold CEO) are responsible, considerate adults who keep switching bodies with each other. Other characters were interesting too. Reminded me a bit of the body-swapping korean drama, Secret Garden, except the ML is always supportive of the FL and kind to her.

The cold CEO having to deal with a woman's body in the entertainment circle, the humble actress afraid she'll bankrupt the CEO's company, both of them having to be on a survival reality... more>> show, hee hee. Highly recommended read. <<less

A very cute story. There's not a lot of conflict, and it's very suitable for a light-hearted read.

I'll admit, I got pretty bored towards the end but I'm glad I persisted.

I cannot believe that some of these reviews almost made me not read this!

THIS WAS SO GOOD!

It was written a lot better than I expected, considering that I wasn't really that interested. To begin with, I almost never read body swap but this was executed sooooo well. Usually when it comes to novels that have multiple POVs, there's always ONE POV that you like better than the others. I don't think thats the case with this novel.

Honestly, before I give an actual review, I want to address some of the criticisms in the other reviews that made me almost not read this book and my honest opinion.

The main criticism that almost stopped me was when another reviewer said the ML does everything and the FL just kind of lies down. I actually whole heartedly disagree! The ML does seem like he knows everything because he's quite smart and intelligent business acumen that allows him to also adapt to the scene, but the author also stresses his weak points. The weak point being that his cold demeanour makes it difficult for him to act 'warm personality' characters and that he's particularly weak socially and emotionally.

On the other hand, the FL is particularly strong where he's weak - she's very socially savvy. Although she's not the best at business, that just because she's literally not a CEO? So of course in the beginning of the body swap, the guy is going to be more advantaged. To begin with, the FL isn't a particular popular actress and its not like she's got hard things to act yet. OF COURSE, the guy has it easier and seems like he knows everything in the beginning.

If you really think that's the case, I just employ you to read a bit further and you'll see that it balances out really well as the story goes on. It's not the ML does better than the FL etc etc its that they both begin to mutually complement each others weaknesses. The FL even benefits the business as well through her personality.

Moving on.

I love how all the characters developed. I found that there's actually not that many characters that get discussed in this novel, so it doesn't get overwhelming with the names (it does get a little confusing when both the FL and the ML are in the same scene and in different bodies, so when other characters call the names I think the translation - or just me - get sort of mixed up) and having to keep track of friends or whatever.

I will say that the hardship in this novel is written in a way that you don't think it won't get resolved. Maybe that sounds a bit all over the place. But the hardship in this novel is written in a way that makes you have confidence that they will resolve it. Even if you don't know how, you know it will be.

That being said, surprisingly, I wouldn't call either of them really Mary Sue/Gary Stu because you really see the progress being set out slowly. The FL slowly develops more into her CEO personality in order to not be OOC in the ML's body and the ML gets better at acting by developing emotionally.

The plot is also interesting but the best part of this novel is the HUMOUR and the WRITING. It's written SOOO interestingly that I promise you really won't get bored reading this. It's very unexpected what crops up next, I would say, so it never got boring or too predictable - which I think is the biggest worry when it comes to novels that are fluffy/soft.

I will say one thing about the body swap - maybe because I'm just inexperienced in this genre is -

the duration. The body swaps last a lot longer than I thought - to the point where I really did think that they were going to stay in each other's body until the end of the novel. But luckily, through the midpoint they start swapping more.

This is excellent. The premise on paper sounds like something that would be s*upid, but it's executed so well that it is easily worth the time to read. It's engaging and interesting, without any major contrivances or problems that would break your immersion in the story. Give it a read.

  • At first, I was hesitant to read this but I'm glad that I did.. This one was like a healing story. There's no heavy plot that I usually don't want to read. The FL is bright and positive character while the ML was her opposite who has cold persona because of what happened to him, he was incapable to feel emotions (idk how to explain lmao)
  • But overall, the story was good! No complicated plot so you're gonna enjoy the story if you're already tired reading stories that are so stressful, predictable and repetitive one. This story deserves to give it a try!

honest rating would be 4 since maybe just wasnt able to find all/extra chapters or idk but I felt author could have tied some lose ends much better.

This was an amzing read tbh, super entertaining and I loveee how swapping bodies with MC made ML enjoy family love and warmth tbh I wished he could have a lot more interaction like that with his own body lol...

i recommend this nove, its a great body swap novel with a good amont of romance n comedy. has its flaws but its... more>> worth a read.

so damn good I don't have any other comments, gods pls give me someone like either FL or ML they're both so so likable my bi panic is going haywire

translation could do some work though, some parts have pronouns and names mixed up that sometimes I got confused who is talking/ is being talked to. Overall, still very good.

Excellent read! A well paced well written plot filled novel with a decent character development, lovable and humorous side characters with no too brain dead cannon fodders and quality storyline! A definite recommend! The only downside is they don't have extrassssss!

I want to give it 5 stars, but the translation quality is iffy. Lots of wrong pronouns etc. Sometimes, it reads like a slightly better MTL than translation work. Some parts in the middle are not edited while other parts are good. It makes it hard to fully enjoy the story.

I like the premise, the character, and how the story unfolds. Main couples complement each other well and there are a lot of interesting side characters.

I'm loving every chapter! It's so good! The ML isn't the typical cold hearted CEO he had a good reason why he's like that and he's a big f*cking green flag. Who wouldn't like a nice ML who only looks cold, but is very nice and caring to our FL?

Zhong Ruanxing and Bai Yinyue's friendship is so cute. Especially how Bai Yinyue sacrificed herself to *fakely* pursue the annoying Cheng sh*thead so he can't approach the FL makes me warm. Their interactions are very funny and cute she actually had a crush with FL while the FL was in ML's body. And that's how her one sided crush ended before it even started. Lmao. It's obvious that my favorite character is Bai Yinyue. She's supportive and loyal and very nice, but not nice to FL's enemies. She's one of a kind.

This is an amazing story that could be a great screenplay. Family intrigue, business, growth, romance, it’s got it all. The translator does an amazing job and only stumbles sometimes on the male female descriptives which in this story translating to English would be extremely hard so I forgive them. Wonderful book, wonderful translation & I want to read more by the author.

4.3⭐!!! Okay, this is actually better than I expected. Both leads are very mature, with the female lead being a generally positive and optimistic person even when she's under a lot of suppression because she offended someone. While the male lead is a bit of a block of wood at the beginning, he is still pleasant to read. Of course, he does get better later hehe. This novel feels very slice of life, focusing on the interaction between the main characters. Also, this novel has no recurring villain; just the... more>> mu*derer of the male lead's parents is revealed in the end. I knew it! It's the silent one that's the most poisonous!
