This is the first time in my life that I'm writing a review for any form of story so pardon me, I'll make it short.

I love the MC:

    • He's not overpowered at all. He works hard to practice his powers and his knowledge about the future only comes in handy at some times.
    • A bit s*upid (he daydreams all the time) but really clever when needed.
    • He's ruthless but has soft spot for children and mothers.
    • He feels like a real person with all the insecurities and fears weighing him down because of his past life but still pushes really hard to protect his family.
In the first few chapters you may have the urge to drop this because of what he did but this novel really hits hard!!!! Made cry, laugh, angry, frustrated, etc. The character development of each character, the MC's past life, everything is a masterpiece. It's really really realy really fcking good I'd rate it 10000000/5 if I can so just fckng READ IT.

and here it is !!. Very rarely a novel can make you cry, sad, angry, dizzy. The author is truly an expert at pouring out various kinds of emotions in his novel. Moreover, maybe a little difficult in the apocalypse genre novel. HA HA! Won't regret reading this, really!

I love this novel so much. I feel like his identification issue is a little annoying but I truly can say it add so much humor and comedic relief needed in such a apocalyptic setting.

I just realized that, the writer of this is the same writer of 1/2 Prince. I read the manhwa of it way back 2015.. Anyway, I just love this novel and I really do hope that I'm still alive when this novel is finished as well as the translation of it and hoping that the translation team will not drop this. All in all.. The story, the plot and the translation is ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ?????

Though I stop around v4 for the reason that the novel is still on going as well... more>> as the translation. I still want to sleep though ? I only slept for 4 hrs since yester night's. ??? Though I skip reading and went to the latest 3 chaps ? <<less

Incredible work. Usually I avoid reading a first person style writing. But I got hooked in this novel. I love the jiang's brother and sister. I cant wait till shuyu meet jin feng again.

I’m at ch 65 (ish) and eagerly waiting for more translations! This is a fun zombie story! Female survives ten years into the apocalypse, dies, then wakes up in the body of a young man in a parallel world. Only there’s no sign of an apocalypse in her/his (their?) new world... until there is a sign. Then it’s all about preparing. But not the common grind that happens in some apocalypse novels, this was no boring listing of daily tasks. It’s all about MC protecting their new family, becoming a... more>> badass zombie killer, going on adventures (basically), and, bonus, we also see MC dealing with their sexuality and gender. The mix of darkness that comes with apocalypse novels, combined with the sweet family story, is nice, and the sci fi twist of multiple worlds (and the magic girl “powers” that come with a lot of zombie stories) is interesting! Lots of twists, and, tbh, some wtf moments! I can’t wait for more! Not to mention the translation is AMAZING, the group who translates this is always awesome. Don’t be surprised to come across some April fool chapters... like I did! They really got me sometimes, lol. Anyway, 100% recommend if you like zombies, apocalypses, zombie apocalypses, “magic”, “magical” zombie apocalypses, family love, ?️‍?, or reading in general. <<less

One of those apocalyptic zombie and human evolution stories. But this time they are called aberrants and are way more intelligent making them not even zombies. You got the whole package which includes special abilities, tiers, nonsensical evil people, and going back in time. The MC is very interesting and her (his) conflict with who he is is a nice little plot, all the characters are really good, the story is very neat, everything twists and turns in fantastic ways and you start cursing the Jiang family's bad luck.

It’s fun And heart pounding (from suspense!). The MC is entertaining! Her conundrum about her gender is such a laugh but the side characters (big bro and lil sis) have such good dynamics with the MC

Please look at other reviewers for better opinion :>

Great novel with suspenseful plot, lots of comedic relief and occasionally so much feels.

The protagonist finds herself transmigrated into an 18-year-old boy's body. Just as she rejoices having escaped the apocalyptic world of her past life she realizes that in this world the apocalypse is just starting. So begins her/his journey of getting stronger and protecting her family in the apocalypse.

The characters are 3D, even minor ones have their own goals and strengths. As often the case in Yu Wo's novels, the protagonist has a lot of inner dialogue with... more>> her/himself that is quite funny. The plot itself is rather serious and well thought out.

Translation is great with informative footnotes about references. <<less

This is the best book I've read in recent times, it also easily enter in my top 3 chinese novels and in my top 5 stories (be it actually books, mangas or webnovels) I have ever read. The plot is super interesting, the MC is charismatic, the character development is beautiful and the wolrd building is amazing. If I ever have the opportunity to buy a printed copy in my mother leanguage or in english I would, even if just to show my appreciation

This is such a good book, I tried searching for the raws but could only find one that was in a mess (only had pages not chapters). This is the one time I regret not actually studying Chinese properly as a Chinese. I wish it could update more often, the pace is too slow. But regardless, I am grateful that they didn't drop this.

This novel was absolutely enjoyable! Everything to the character development, the plot, time pacing and even the comedy. It is safe to say that this is one of my favourite novels I ever read. I have to give props to the auther for developing the character in such a way it is not your tipical MC. For example it was more intimate to read the mc's most worrying thoughts and also to experience the identity crisis that the MC was undergoing first hand. The MC died in her previous life and found that she became a handsome young teen that has one adorable, pretty little sister and a dependable big brother. She became attached to her family and decided to live as Jiang Shuyu from then on. Later, she found out that the day she awoke was the day before the apocalypse happened and started to prepare for it. She will meet her future comrades and become that world's "Ice emperor".

This is so beautiful! Really, simply beautiful. The premise is not an uncommon one, but the story is well written and the flow keeps you drawn in. All the characters are well thought out as well and as the story goes on you can see as they grow (mostly the MC admittedly, but still) and are explored more in depth. The MC is powerful without being too OP and his personality is quite good as well, not too much in your face like some of those I've read. He has... more>> a strong and determined personality but is still down to earth and set on becoming stronger. I especially love the relationship between the three brothers - it's just too cute how much the MC idolizes his protagonist older brother and cherishes his little sister! It's really a family full of bro/sis-con. Let's just hope a worthy enough love interest sprouts up for our MC and then it'll be complete. Honestly speaking though, I also like that romance is not the main plot point of this novel. Too many stories end with the MC becoming immersed in their love intrest and becoming useless.

Obviously, the story it's not perfect, there are some weak parts and bad points but it's still extremely good. Hope it'll be updated soon!

EDIT : Well... this is becoming a bit disappointing. The story developements and the MC are becoming more uselessly complicated and absurd as time passes and are less satisfying. I dunno if I'll keep reading... <<less

i really like Yu Wo though sometimes I find the endings to her stories a little... odd. She's my second favorite Taiwanese author after Hu Xuan. This series is turning out to be just as good if not better than her other series. Humor, action, zombies, identity crisis, family warmth, superpowers... you name it, it's in this series. the only thing I find trying is the flashbacks which I read anyways. I'm not a fan of flashbacks in general but I have the feeling that this will be one of... more>> those series where, if you go back and read it again after reading it through once, those things will make a lot more sense the second time around (like Unique Legend; the first chapters of that series make no sense and are confusing as hell but if you go back after finishing several books in the series everything falls into place and makes sense). So far, I'm really enjoying this series.

a little side rant:

it'a irritating when people try to compare this to Chinese novels. Yu Wo isn't Chinese, she's Taiwanese, and while most Westerns don't understand the difference, it's a big deal to those from Taiwan. Her mindset isn't the same, the way she sees the world isn't the same, the Taiwanese people have a lot more freedoms than the Chinese so of course her novels aren't the same. the only thing similar is the use of Mandarin, and even that is different. <<less

I love it too much it hurts. It's one of those very very rare novels where the story does not focus on the main plot only, but also on the interactions and relationships of the characters- and not just the ones between the main characters. It's overall a satisfyingly great story to read. It's honestly my forever favorite online novel.

Love the novel. Especially when it comes to the interaction between the MC and his siblings. MC really tried his best to make sure his family can survive the apocalypse and become stronger so that the thing that happen to him in his past life? Which eventually led to his death won't happen. And at the same time he is having an identity crisis because of his past life memories. Well that is what me and MC's siblings are thinking.

And it also made me in a dilemma weather to call... more>> the MC 'he' or 'she'. Yeah...I mean physically MC is male but her/his inner monologue more towards female thinking. Like how sometimes 'she' drools over the big bro and wants to marry the sister coz she is so cute and call Shuyu pe*vert for that. I mean like woman/man! isn't all your thoughts! Why in the world you want blame the guy. No doubt the MC is funny. Even when fighting zombies.

There is comedy, betrayal, love, companionships and so much more. All these elements hooked me up. So imma giving a big 'LIKE' to this novel. <<less
