She had somehow ended up transmigrating into the book as the supporting female lead, who was beaten to death! Deeply in love with the male lead, she’s fated to be beaten to a bloody pulp before even holding hands with him?!

First things first, she needs to survive and latch onto the big thigh of a patron. But the supporting male lead is a true gentleman and feels nothing for her stunning, alluring body. That’s alright! She’ll latch onto the old madame or the male lead then!

But why does the supporting male lead look at her with increasingly odd eyes? And what of that Wulin Alliance Head with the personality disorder? You’re just a random bystander, what are you getting involved for??

Finally, the male lead could bear it no longer and dragged her back to the Prince Li Manor…

I've read a lot of transmigration novels where the FL is tr*sh and works her way up to accomplish her mission/revenge or take the place of the original lead... Absolutely love how this FL is just trying to avoid dying and the 'back palace' drama but still ends up becoming the 'Madame' without really trying

Really enjoyed this novel and was really glad that it was fully translated and not dropped midway thankfully. You can also read the full translation on Volare's website. However, just as an FYI they have published the full novel on Amazon in 6 volumes. You can buy the 6 volumes there which I did as it's frustrating to read online novels on the subway and wait for cellphone access. Lol. Happy to support them as I appreciate any translation that I can get nowadays. Fun, light hearted read.

It's a great reading, very entertaining. I couldn't stop reading once I started. The protagonist was different from the usual, she doesn't have superpowers (well, for me, talking to a cactus doesn't count as a superpower!), she doesn't have op skills, she only cares about surviving the doom of her role in the novel. The romance was slow but once they were on, it was very satisfactory. The supporting male characters are very cute, I actually really wanted the protagonist to split in two sometimes! But the ending was quite... more>> satisfactory (but a bit fast). I specially liked how she progressively showed her true self to the ML, and his whole acceptance. But my most favorite character was the alliance head, I really really love him! <<less

I enjoyed this series tremendously. The strongest point would be the bond between the main couple, the side characters were also well written and depicted their own personal struggles. I would've given it a full five stars, but ... more>>
Spoiler

towards the end I wished it showed more family moments or life after all the chaos. Or them as rulers.

[collapse]

Other than that, story concluded perfectly and even gave some of my favorite side characters their happy ending as well. I really enjoyed DCF, I highly recommend to those who like perfect female leads and ancient china politics/scheming with a bit of supernatural abilities and martial arts. I feel like the only way I finished this story was because of the enjoyable protagonist and quick wittedness. <<less

This was cute. Full of fluff and I think the FL is very real and down to earth. Her character development was done very well. Some of the villains of the story were too weird though.

Spoiler

Sun Yun (if I remember her name correctly) looked to be formidable but was offed in just a couple of chapters. The ML is too OP. Haha.

I think I've read this novel at least around 4 to 5 times already and it still tickles my bone with the way FL and ML interacted. The plot is the usual jazz for the transmigration genres, the comedy is there, romance is there

Spoiler

but somehow to me, the story kinda got a liiiiittle stale towards the parts where the FL got pregnant and after she gave birth to their kid and then she went off to save her husband and all that jazz... it's a good way to make the plot longer but I think it's just my preferences that the FL did so much, gotten hurt so much for the ML and yeah, the ML did loved her dearly but it's just kinda puts me off that the FL is going through such trouble for the ML.. I just feel bad for her uwu and also... the war part just kinda not interesting to me lol after the whole war thing, the plot picks up where the original FL shows up again and leads up to one thing to another. the antagonists in the story mainly focuses on how some female antagonists are irredeemable but the male antagonists somehow deserves the sympathy and whatnot, its weird.

[collapse]

ANYWAY. still love the story and if I were to rank this from all the transmigration novels i've read, this one is prolly in my top 10. not no 1 but top 10.

Also, many thanks to the translator because they're doing a great job and in all honesty, this translation group has translated quite a few fave novels of mine!!

cheers!! <<less

This novel was a worthy read. Although it didn't excite me or anything, the adorable interactions between the couple and the introduction of transmigrated and reborn characters had a strange allure that stopped me from clicking off.

Spoiler

During the start, the FL wanted to seduce the supporting ML and run off with him despite being married to the ml. That was a bit off putting but after analysing the situation, I realised that concubines in that era were really treated like s*aves, as the FL constantly said in the novel. Added with the impending future of her character being beat to death and the fact that she had no support or an idea that the ML favoured her... it honestly made sense. Plus the ml's actions towards had been a bit forceful during the beginning, but then again... he was a war lord who had little to no interactions with women and was constantly exposed to the villainous schemes of women. So it was inevitable that he didn't know how to treat woman well. I also found the antagonist to be a bit lacklustre, they were disappointing and put up a measly little fight. I had a lot of expectations for them since one was reborn, and the other was transmigrated from the same era and place as the fl. She even had a higher status than the FL in the 'modern' world. The cacti thing was pretty interesting, they played a good role in the story because of the fl's original career. The plot wasn't too interesting, had a few cliches and there were a few plot holes concerning the antagonists, the vortex thing, the gunpowder introduction etc... Overall though, it was a lovely read. 8/10 would recommend.

This is the first chinese novel I have ever read (recommended by my brother) and I love every part of the story buuut not so much of the fight with the other transmigrator, I wish there could've been a few more chapters with their kids. The best thing about this novel are the misunderstandings being piled up HAHAHA the ML and FL are the cutest pair as well, both smart and loyal.

I've been constantly reading more chinese novels trying to find something similar to this but Im failing to find... more>> something that matches this, other FL are way to OP but I still liked those. BUT THIS I LOVE.

Worth giving a try. <<less

The fact that the whole story of this novel was fast-paced and quite interesting made for a comfortable read. I loved the fact that the supporting female lead could recall how the novel which she read in her previous modern life was outlined and tried valiantly to assess the situations she found herself in so that she would not meet with the doomed ending as the supporting female lead of the novel. She was determined not to become 'Cannon Fodder' as her inherent character, which was totally different from that... more>> of the person in the novel, surfaced to protect her from harm. At some point in time it became evident that she actually exchanged places in this story with that of the female lead of the novel she read, but it was something that she didn't realize at the time. Therefore, some parts of this novel I found hilarious and could not stop myself from laughing out loud. I loved the male lead character and his indomitable spirit of honoring his mother, giving her face but ultimately ignoring her wishes or commands subtly in order to follow his heart's choice of spouse and lover. Overall both heroes and villains were colorful, energetic and entertaining. <<less

I loved this novel, it was a very cozy read with very little angst - I've even reread choice parts. The MC was pretty unique compared to other transmigration characters I've read. She was pretty pragmatic and didn't have any special powers or features. She also didn't really aspire for much beyond a safe existence - it was refreshing to read a novel very much focused on humour and relationships. Compared to other transmigration stories I felt that there was a refreshing lack of intrigue and politics. She just (unconsciously)... more>> seduced the ML by being cute and living her life as well as she could. I also felt that she was a character who wasn't irrational which is VERY rare, sure she was a bit silly and sometimes missed pretty obvious cues. But her actions were consistent and her thoughts logical.

All in all: read if you like sweet romance with no angst or irrational behaviour. <<less

After stumbling around the Transmigration genre for quite a bit of time, I picked up this gem. I put off reading it because the summary was a little lacklustre. However, it's probably one of the best transmigration novels out there.

The romance is definitely there at the beginning, but it turns into love later on through steady (but hilarious) events. The MC annoyed me a little with how weak and fragile her new body seemed to be, but it soon added to the comedy. This was one of the few books... more>> which had me laughing out loud.

You shouldn't take the events in the novel so seriously. It intertwines some supernatural characteristics out of nowhere, but you soon begin to understand it's been done on purpose. The novel itself is an ode to other Transmigration novels - with the MC calling out cliche tropes such as endless supporting male leads, twisted reasoning, and convenient events that somehow seem to fix the problem the MC faces. It adds to the charm of the book in the end.

Overall, it was a really sweet story and is meant to be a light-hearted read. <<less

First time for me to read a transmigrator vs transmigrator &reincarnator. Overall the story is great with quite a few (wait, a lot) of fluffy moments. Hope to find more of this kind of novel instead of too much novel with too OP FL. I really need a break from that.

Anamazing novel that I would recommend, one moment your feeling really anxious and angry, the next your melting in a pool envy of how you wish your life could be like that (not all like that I’d rather not get poisoned thank you very much). A definite 5 out of 5.

Doomed to be canon fodder is one of the best romance novels I've read. The MCs just your average girl with no special talents and an over powered cactus. She transmigrated into the body of a princes concubine and tries to live her life without getting involved with the prince in anyway, but obviously it doesn't work out the way she wants it to. She tries to get the FL and ML together but little does she know she already replaced the FL. The ML is protective and caring of... more>> the MC and loves her.
Spoiler

there was this time the MC was kidnapped and her face was ruined and she was dirty everyone thought she was a beggar even the second ML (he even gave her money cause he thought she was a beggar) except the ML he noticed her right away.

[collapse]

The MC knows her place as cannon fodder and tries to live life with courting death. She not smart but not dumb either, just average.

It's hard to feel bad for the FL when the MC tired to help her multiple times but she ignored her and thought the MC was fake and was trying to steal the ML from her. She even took the dark route and didn't get any happiness in the end. She deserved it considering how many guys she was trying to get together with at one time. She even got jealous of the MC and said she was trying to steal what's her when the MC offered it up to her in the beginning and she refused.

The endings okay though I would have preferred it if he didn't take the throne but at least he didn't have a harem. I rate it 4.5 because the ending was kind of a disappointment. I highly recommended. <<less

First time reading a book with woman as a main character. Simply I wanted to try reading on. Not regretting with my decision. MC is a master of this genre (atleast for me) so it was easy to get a basic understanding of what is ok and what is not, in the world of ancient china. The book always had enough tension of what was going to happen to keep me reading onward.

I was kind of afraid of the harem part of this genre when the story started to progress.... more>> But because MC is not a woman that is easily pushed down like the ''real MC'', it turned out well and saved me from disliking this book.

I rate this 4, 5/5 <<less

This novel is simply entertaining and good!

I really, really like the MC. Not much to complain about.

I would give the novel 5 stars if it weren't for the "plot holes". There a lot of things that just don't make sense and totally illogical that will leave you like whaaaaaaat....

Spoiler

For example, a REAL spoiled modern woman with princess syndrome would know things about war and such other spoiled princesses wouldn't know. Like what the literally f*ck. Also, it would be better if the MC had told the ML in more details about herself with the transmigration and her origin.

[collapse]

Anyways there are a lot more problems with this novel BUT overall, it's nothing that will get you so annoyed that you will want to quit reading. In fact, despite the plot holes, it's really enjoyable to read and likable. <<less

Above average, but the first word that came to mind after a hundred chapters is "infuriating". As a parody it works well: the female MC relates the events around her to the tropes commonly found in the novels that she had read. Yet the author emphasizes on the dazzling attributes of the male characters and much of the MC's intelligence seem to diminish at every encounter.

She is fully aware of the circumstances surrounding the men, yet incredibly dense about her own impact on them. Time and again she would bring... more>> up her suspicions about the male lead, only to quickly dismiss them out of hand without even considering that she could be right. We are told that she wants to survive the terrible fate of her original body and thus would do things differently than the novel. But she remains blissfully unaware that her actions did change her fate. Instead of antagonizing the male lead as in the novel, she had unwittingly seduced him... and she completely ignore the possibility that her actions had made her attractive to him.

It is still an interesting read, but some of the cast are really blocks of wood (eg: the original novel female lead). As long as you expect a parody and not a work of true romance, it should be interesting to read.

Edit: The final parts of the novel seemed rushed, as new antagonists are thrown in without much explanation. As before, the author easily pulled out the tropes of webnovels and assume readers are already somewhat familiar with them. It is interesting to read, but by then the reader knows the so-called Cannon Fodder now has Full Plot Armor and able to solve many predicaments with sudden revelations suddenly given to her.

Though the gruesome ends of her enemies might be unsettling, in the end the novel remains a light-hearted read with much of the scales tipping in favour of the passionate descriptions of the MC and her male lead. <<less

This is a work that is ultimately amusing! Enjoyment comes with taking this novel with a grain of salt--some of the plot points get pretty strange and illogical. However, I think that it's (mostly) a purposeful decision on the author's part; this novel seems to lampshade and parody tropes of the harem genre. It's basically good for a casual read; don't expect stunning character development or anything.

I have to address some things that have been mentioned in other comments though. As I mentioned before, I am almost certain that the... more>> author meant for this work to be a parody, in a number of ways. One of the main points of humor is that the MC is subject to the white lotus characteristics of the body she transmigrated into. The original BXX was afraid of blood, so even if our MC is not, her body physically reacts anyway. Our MC mentions at many points that she herself can't believe how weak the body she's currently inhabiting is. She gets frustrated that her body will faint at any surprising stimuli. She does take advantage of her body's condition sometimes, in some funny, manipulative ways.

The ML was both a disappointment and not. He obviously thinks highly of the MC, to the point where he will defer to most of her judgment calls. Their interactions as a couple are adorable; they earnestly support each other. However, the ML still can't escape the conventional tropes that permeate such novels: the possessive (aka r*pe-y) lover. That's right folks, the MC and ML are a cute couple ONLY if we ignore their s*xual relationship. I think it's a side affect of the CN novel romance genre as a whole? I've seen it in many permutations across different works. It's like most CN novel authors are allergic to women (or for BL, the partner with the "woman's" role, which is a whole other problematic trend that I won't get into right now) feeling or expressing pleasure. It's not impossible to find a romance in which both characters mutually enjoy sleeping with each other, but it is damn rare. Why does the female character have to be in pain all the time?? We get enough of that ridiculousness in the real world, so why do these shitty situations have to carry over to our fantasy fiction too? Why do MLs always have to be "beasts" sexually? These are questions for which I have no answers. <<less
