Beyond current times, before weekly or even thought of weekly fan translations was things we had this series at the vanguard. While I can go as far to say it's literary masterpiece, I can say it's certainly worthy as being example of what means to write a very well written web novel. One of the only decent novels that doesn't have harem. Alebit slow with releases, but the story is great, it gives you a world of cultivation WITHOUT harem and all that other stuff *cough cough, ATG, MGA, even WDQK, and etc. The love is pure and both sides consent to it, which very few popular light novels have for some reason. This novel is great for those who would like to read a decent light novel without the polygamy and harems. Really enjoyed the leveling system, the strategic fighting, and the character development. Probably the novel with the most side character development ever. All characters have their role and have their own difficulty. As a bonus, they are BFF with MC to the very end, happy happy.

Problem with the story is at the end, author appears to just gotten lazy and want to find a way for them to level up too fast to fight some impending doom. That ocean arc, sigh. But really really great before that. I got it within myself to finish, so give it a try anyway.

Main character is very strong from the start and onwards but it isn't annoying OP, he shows the limits of what's possible and impossible, what the absolute extreme is as he grows. He does get lucky, coincidences and such, it happens in all of them but it's not bad in this novel. He gets by with his own strength (plus teachers & friends who're geniuses themselves).

Basically their world kills people everyday many of even geniuses like them seem to have been cut short before becoming dangers to certain somebodies, but... more>> they are the cream of the crop who survive the dangers and thrive on their experience. Pros: has good antagonists and side characters, Tang San is smart. Although Tang San is overpowered is OP, some of his enemies also are (will be revealed in late chapters. The novel has emotional moments. Cons: how do I put this?imagine that the MC found an artifact that's supposed to give him extra speed, it increases his speed and as an unexpected bonus, a mutation occurs that leads to him growing wings. Most of the time, Tang San has this bonus. Also, there is the excessive description.

I’ll say this, I cannot comprehend the logic that one can come from a past life and still remain that pure, without even laying a hand on a teenage woman, yeah, I don’t really like that. Reading something ‘Shounen’ after a while, I’d say its inferior reflection of what could have been very great, imho.

This was the first Wuxia I’ve read, and after reading some like MGA or ISSTH, I’d have to say there is definitely something lacking, just seems restrained to better suit the lesser audience.

I like most of the concepts such as his skill in utilizing poison and the best part is the hidden weapons; I wish the story would focus more on that. The power-ups are reasonable and the fights are great.

The story is average, never really liked Shounen stories like Code:Breaker or Full Metal Alchemist or Pandora Hearts. Although there are exceptional ones like HakoMari or Kubera or Maoyuu Maou, Douluo Dalu is just not there. Still, compared to the Manhua, the story here is delineated a thousand times better.

Overall, this is a satisfactory read and I am following it as far as the translations go. <<less

One of the best Stories out there the beginning was awesome, and while I personally do not like the current arc its still one of the best stories and a absolute must if you like the Xianxia Genre.

This is the most sophisticated and well-written/well-translated novel I have ever read. It just makes sense O__O. Like, there's no other way to describe it. The power/layer/energy/cultivation levels is very simple and easy to understand, not to say that it's not intricate to implement. Basically, you won't see some random level 1 beating a level 2 unless some serious sssss... stuff happens.

Started reading this series after seeing reviews about it and I must say that this is one of my favorites like Coiling Dragon, Aganist the Gods, Martial God Asura, etc...; Wish there was a donation option so everybody who loves this can help speed up the releases cuz theres 300+ chapters and I wonder when we will get to the end lol
