I love this so much. A heartwarming and heartbreaking story of a mortal and a demon for 3 lifetimes. Well mostly heartbreaking. Lol. Tragedy in it's purest form (who even forgot the tragedy tag smh).

You really have to have patience with this story if you're really critical. Both protagonists are very difficult to relate to in the beginning: one cares too much and the other too little (or rather not at all). But as the story unfolds you'll understand their actions. The author really did a whole character analysis, instead... more>> of randomly plastering a personality onto the characters like most authors do.

This novel doesn't shy away from anything, making this mature not only in the sense of bed scenes *cough* but also in the sense of realness. Family relationships (no bullsh*t dog blood drama), h*mophobia, trauma, r*pe (more in the spoiler below), everything is laid bare on the table. I can't emphasise enough how complete this story is.

And also how tragic this story is. It also has sweet parts though they keep decreasing. God. Yi Mo this dumb ass snake finally found someone who gave him warmth, and couldn't let go of that warmth which caused him to keep searching for Shen Qingxuan's reincarnation, knowing that SQX's reincarnation won't remember him.

And this s*upid as*hole with a bad af temper couldn't rly accept the fact that MC's reincarnation had a woman and had also forgotten everything, so he r*ped the MC. And I gotta say that the r*pe part was executed fairly "well". The MC being traumatized isn't being left out at all, and Yi Mo's actions are also understandable (which doesn't equal acceptable) because of his demon past (being alone for 1000+ years) causing him to have no f*cking conscience, and he does end up regretting it.

This story also keeps raising some philosophical questions about love and what defines a person. And those questions are actually good. Not some cringy bunch of text about the MCs own understanding. Instead the writer shows multiple answers for those questions, which drives the reader to also look at the problem from multiple perspectives.

But the realness does have a bad effect on my enjoyment in the 3rd reincarnation. It's perfectly understandable that Yi Mo doesn't like the s*upid SQX, and him teasing the 3rd SQX is also in line with his character, but it rly annoyed me. Like why would you make him sad smbdkwnaaosbsn. Also I rly disliked YM getting back SQX's memories of his previous lifetimes, because even though YM wanted it in order to be guilt free, I personally got the feeling as if he still couldn't accept the 3rd SQX and wanted the 1st one. So the 3rd arc was rly not pleasing for my enjoyment as a reader.

Since this is a tragdy at it's best, you'll have a lot of angst and repetition of emotions and thoughts. If you can, find an audiobook (try bilibili that one's gold). If not, be prepared for the semi-repititions (the thoughts and emotions will change as the timen passes, but the changes are minimal though crucial).

This novel in one word: complete. The author is a genius.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SOMEBODY TRANSLATE THIS! This novel is unbelievably good! One of the most heartwarming and heart wrenching novels you'll ever find here in NU! The MC was just the perfect balance between good and bad. Heedful yet cunning. Usually it is ML who falls first and ends up going all yandere but this one is the opposite. MC falls hard, and without hesitation, traps ML in a web. Leaving the poor demon (ML) stupefied.

And the ending was so masterfully well written, you'll find yourself staring at the distance... more>> when you reach it. Thank god I found this hidden gem. It´s a real masterpiece. Recommend it 10/10 <<less

It is beautiful story, (like till death do us a part and living to suffer), I have read volume 1 of this story and I think you should prepare your heart and your eyes (because it is very touching and heart warming story)

at first you read this story you will know who the ML and the MC

the MC have poor health and from time to time when that get worse I will think he truly death this time.. And I will think, is he going to die like... more>> this? But at the end volume 1 you will know how touching this story

there maybe readers who do not like MC after reading some of the early chapter, but I tell you that the MC, he just can't forget the ML and love the ML so he do that. To be honest the character I like the most in this story is the MC I like his stubbornness

For the ML he is a cold person at first but after meeting with the MC, there is a riplle that make him different before he meet the MC. I like them both <<less

Be ready for an emotional roller coaster (similar to Till Death Do Us Part as another reader mentioned). The MC and ML experience 3 lifetimes together and some of the experiences are so inexplicably sweet it makes your heart melt and then some so heart-wrenching it leaves you in utter devastation.

the 3rd lifetime is a HE for MC and ML but it took a lot for them to get to that point even to the last few chapters. It's true love and you just hope that they will reincarnate and be together in every life.

The extra with the main side character utterly devastated me so be warned.

It's beautifully written and the translators convey that incredibly well. It's like reading an ink painting, with gorgeous imagery dancing across your mind as you read. No sign of romance so far and tbh I'd be happy to read even without the romance, but dw this novel has the proper tags so there should be romantic development soon. Plot wise it's not super fast but it's not slow either. It feels like it just takes you to calmer times, isolated on a mountain thousands of years ago with a rich,... more>> physically weak, and poetic young master.

It hints to more behind the scenes, schemes and drama but the novel just slips that in as if to say, don't worry, you'll see it soon. Just enjoy the peace for now. It's a good read so far and I'd definitely recommend at least reading the first chapter to see for yourself <<less

The novel has 3 volumes and each of them tells a lifetime of the MC. The love between the ML and MC is soft and beautiful just like how the story is written.

Very recommended for those who need a long heart-warming novel. But the cons exist as well on the other side: their love is very idealised and the story may be too fluffy.

This is very sad so far. The MC has fallen in love but the ML is a demon and demons and humans can't coexist. The MC was mute and when the ML cured his voice he didn't tell his family. It's a really interesting story.

I love this novel, and rrrrhexia had it so beautifully translated, with all the elegant prose intact. I haven't read the work of the other translator but I'm so confused as to why they started from chapter 1 when the initial translator did such an incredible job to begin with. Still happy it has gotten picked up, though!

The characters are multi-faceted and likable, especially MC who isn't shy about his love and falls deep and hard for the ML. And once he's tasted that sweetness... there's no going back. It's... more>> really refreshing to read a character like this.

Give it a try! You definitely won't regret it. <<less

It's just that, I'm kinda little disappointed about the change of translator. The first translator really did an amazing job. Just saying.
