Bai Li, an Agricultural Deity from the immortal world, traveled to the Interstellar era where land is scarce and his farming soul is burning. In a world full of were-people who can turn into many different types of animals, he is a rare human who does not have an animal form.

He entered the ‘Virtual Reality Game Design Competition’ and created the farming game ‘Carefree Farmstead’, leading Interstellar people to farm and explore in the game so that they can gradually understand the charm of farming. The game would lead Interstellar People to grow and explore in the game, and let them gradually realize the charm of farming. Farming, food, infrastructure, life ….

Inadvertently, the interstellar people’s real life takes on a new twist.

TLDR:

What I liked: The game building sequences from MC's various updates and events are interesting. Many characters are likeable and the translation is impeccable.

What I disliked: The Author has too much ideas and no concrete plan to execute it. Too much side plots that lead nowhere and brushed off with "But that's just an afterthought, let's not talk about it".

—Story Rant—>

There is somehow a constant flow of new people to be introduced and having their own dedicated chapters (3 or more!) on trivial events.

Spoiler

Four of the main five streamers from the OG's introduction have long gone obsolete after a while.

The livestream itself had netizens' comments which made the story even more draggy as most of the time the MC and ML were nowhere to be found or even treated as side characters.

Further expanding on meaningless additions,
Spoiler

The game felt like a Deus Ex Machina where just by entering it, their illness is cured. There are no drawbacks, mentions or even developments of the said disorder as they played. Thus, it just gets treated as if it meant nothing and the readers don't feel the weight of said illness.

Even outside of the gaming realm, there is not a single build up of how bad the disorder is aside from one or two mentions. (Eg. The director's bad temper and the fox's destruction of MC's house.)

The worst part of it all how the Author treated MC's worry of ML not working. It is a normal concern for someone who IS AN ADMIRAL, but the ML brushed it off with, "his soldiers are more into the game atm and he is being treated as an afterthought."

This just further makes the whole fear of the disorder look even more trivial an Admiral's presence is not equivalent to the game's capabilities (which mind you, only had a few soldiers inside at that point)

[collapse]

Also, I would like to mention one side story of the Military that caused me to write this review.

Spoiler

A character mentions his concerns about his health (because of the disorder) and came across a study about the dangers of alcohol.

A group of military women (suffering from the same disorder) proceeds to attempt their Wine sales pitch on him but got rejected and lectured about the dangers of excessive drinking.

These women then chose to not sell their wine to all the Military personnel because of this one man's refusal and caused him to get beaten up IRL by everyone.

You had a character who finally had thoughts about the disorder -despite all points saying he was healing- and decided to treat it as a gag moment. Even used it as a lecture for readers that Alcohol has health benefits, when the guy just didn't want to drink it.

Super funny, glad to havel read it. Almost got caught by my family giggling, so u know that it's a good one.

The novel is a slice of life, slow but very enjoyable to read, "Turn off ur brain" and just enjoy reading. As the novel says: it has "fantasy" elements so don't bother trying to rationalize what they do and what happens and just enjoy the ride.

Thoughts At Ch. 267: Feb 11, 2024

This story was binge-read to the end, and I'm happy to add this story with others that are just as great as it! Hope you all enjoy reading and have a great day!

Thoughts At Ch. 208: Feb 09, 2024

I don't understand why anyone would say this story gets boring halfway through? The game in this story is amazing and super interesting! I actually wish someone would make a version of the game in reality, but until we have our own game pods, I don't... more>> think it would be as fun~

Really looking forward to what happens next! Love everything about this novel, from the writing to the interesting tidbits and ideas! The Author and Translator did a really good job!

Thoughts At Ch. 22: Feb 05, 2024

This Story is really good and Interesting!

Some people may be annoyed by the fact that the interstellar is a world that has lost flavour and taste when it comes to food, but I think the author is really conscientious about where our worlds headed if we don't stop genetically modifying, using pesticides and adding chemicals to our foods. Eg. Chemical food dyes and flavours.

Organic or home grown food, is the way to go.

And they even show the benefits of it! <<less

The whole novel is about this Hologram game Farming game that MC made for the interstellar people.

The best bit is when people are fighting for quotas to be in the game.

Alot of fluffs, no villains, furrys, cubs every where. Everyone enjoy playing a great farming game.

MC and ML both loving strong and good loooking.

Did got drag out abit too long to me, but It was great read enjoyable and relaxing. Thanks Translator good job

Recommend for a relaxing read.

One of the best slice of life Bl out there.

Just one of my icks is that the reason for the genetic collapse disorder is too simple/ordinary. I thought there would be some plot twist or extraordinary reason for the disorder, but meh.

Anyway aside from that this is now one of my favorites ❤

So far so good. Refreshing read, very chill so far. I couldn’t resist leaving a review. I really want to enter this universe and play the game too 😭

That aside...

The pace of the novel is a teeny tiny bit slow, and a lot of things are taking their time. I usually prefer it when MC and ML fall immediately, but it hasn’t happened yet here. There are good feelings and a bit of fluff but the cavity inducing sweetness/dog food still hasn’t been spread. I’m not against it though... more>> since like I said, the theme of the novel is quite refreshing which lets me focus on the other fun things while the romance develops. <<less

It's not a work of art but it's fun engaging and I couldn't put it down.

I really love the game building aspect of this and while I wish that it could be longer and that the romance was focused on just that little bit more but was overall pleased with what I got.

The Mc's background was interesting as actually being from the interstellar but getting self imposed amnesia before going through a worm hole to another world, and I liked the slight difference in his personality before and after the reveal but I found myself having to get used to it a little.

I found myself making a headcannon regarding why it took the interstellar people till now to find out that only farming themselves gives crops taste. The answer can be found in the main characters identity as a farming god specifically, and the fact that everyone who successfully grew crops with taste were confirmed to worship him in a sense. I think that the interstellar people didn't have a god of their own and therefore didn't have the mysterious power that is referred to several times in the story. This is why the main character couldn't just learn about farming in another world but had to become a god before he came back. Of coursethats just my theory and not something that is explicitly said in the story.

.

Other than that this is basically a story about a bunch of characters with ptsd or other mental issues getting healthier through a relaxing vr farming game. <<less

I am really enjoying this story. The characters are interesting and it's quite a wholesome, slice of life story. There are funny and sweet moments and the story is evenly paced. If you like video game and farming/village life stories, then I think this is a great read.

SO good. The world is interesting and not quite like others I’ve seen before, the side characters are great, and there’s still so much potential for the main relationship!

plus, the translation is awesome, so smooth to read, and the releases have a decent length. This is one where I read the chapters as soon as they’re posted!
