By some freak coincidence, Song Ci mistakenly consumed the blood of the Demon King, causing himself to become a demon too. A weak scholar…… forced to suffer in silence.

What was even more tragic was that no matter where he went, demons would attack him from all directions braying for his blood, or they would squeeze his neck while interrogating him about his relationship with the Demon King.

This novel gives me some Heaven‘s officials Blessing vibes. The story quite good. But there are alot of time skip and some pages seem abit confusing for me. Anyway the translation is good and the story is good too. There are alot of side cps and according to the author those side cps have their own novels too. Its a good read. Tq

This is not the BEST novel out there, mind you. Not even one of the best. But I absolutely enjoyed this story, and that's all that matters for me.

It's a pretty good novel to read. But I think I can say it's not a light read and fluffy like some people say. I rated it as four because there are some stuff that's pretty confusing and it has loose ends too.

The note of the translator in the last extra said that there's a related novel that tell some more of their story too. I wished the author just put all of it in here. They didn't have any fluffy story after they got together for real. And there's... more>> only that one steamy scene in the last extra.

I just brushed through some of the details because it's pretty lengthy. I feel like there was no change in the current time period too after changing the past, which doesn't make sense. Usually, a small disturbance in the past can cause a ripple effect, what's more what MC did was a big change.

After MC knew his feelings too, he suddenly became too lascivious in that one chapter, which is pretty weird. I think there are weird times when MC and ML are out-of-character too.

Just for the readers, it's genre is yaoi and not shounen, lol. It's not really that much of R-18 until the last extra when it was really that. I don't think french kissing are R-18, lmao.

Still pretty a good read. Just wished it didn't have loose ends (which will be corrected in another novel) and have more MC and ML interactions after they got together. <<less

The very first cnovel I read was founder of diabolism, and in a way that was great because it meant I got hooked on cnovels but it was also tragic because I always thought it would be impossible to find another at the same level as mdzs. This novel has blown that line of thought out of the water.

The characters are wonderful. The storyline is extraordinary. And I cried for most of the side characters. I cried for our MC and ml. And a lot of those feelings came about... more>> because the translation was stunning. If there's anyone wondering if they should read this, the answer is a resounding yes. Read it for the most heart wrenching yet satisfying read of your life. There are plenty of cynics in the review section but dont let them ruin it for you before you've even started. Read this for yourself and find out if it matches upto your expectations. Thanks to the translators for their excellent work <<less

Really one of the best classic themed novels ever written. Translation is A+++, being able to deliver the exact feelings of Song Ci and Rong Bai.

There is too much hurt and love between Song Ci and Rong Bai. They are one of the best couples and truly made for each other.

The plot twist the arcs and is very well introduced and having everything making sense in the end. Overall this is really such a great masterpiece.

This story is very cute.. I like the interaction between the MC and ML.

Although I find the ending to be a bit rush, overall it is an enjoyable read!

First of all, Lianyin's translations are the best!

The MC is hilarious, and the ML is a bit icy but super gentle to him. I loved their interactions, as well as nearly all of the side characters! The plot is this overarching mystery that draws you in more and more with each arc, featuring smaller mysteries and plenty of action and humor along the way! I did find the ending strangely rushed, though; otherwise this would've been perfect.

I really love the slowburn love story of the MC and ML. I kind of get the author why the MC was full of flattery words everytime he is being cornered by the ML. I mean he just want to survive that bad. And the ML how he was being written was absolutely on point. He doesn't give a damn to those he is not concerned. And from the beginning it seemed as if he was not even paying attention to the MC which is pretty decent and actually refreshing... more>> stort (but then, maybe it's still too early to comment. Lol.) Also, hats off to the translator, this very easy to understand, it feels like reading a literature with footnotes provided. Thank you for the hardwor !Overall, I am looking forward for the character development as the story is getting deeper so I give this 4 stars. I am reserving the last star (see if this is deserving) as soon as the transl will be completed. ? <<less

As someone who had a hard time understanding english, made me glad that the translation in this are easy to understand. Im not really into reading but I love 9 tailed foxes and this caught my eyes too.

The Interaction between MC and ML are funny especially when u know who the ML is. That sometimes I want the MC to shut his mouth, lol. But there are times that I do feel annoyed with the MC. I also love how the MC can be unpredictable sometimes, so I dont know... more>> how he ll react to certain situations, but that s not bad at all. I love surprises. By the end, things escalated a bit quickly, lol. I felt like there s something odd about the ML about the way he do things by the end. If there s such a twist.... It gotta be good. Cant wait for the next chapter. ^^ <<less

Parts of this were tragic, but ultimately their love was really sweet. Prepare a box of tissues for the last ~20 chapters though, especially if it's written from Rong Bai's perspective.

I do think that Rong Bai's past did have a tad too many tragic tropes crammed in, but I can overlook that because I love this story so much and it still managed to make me feel sad even though I was expecting some of it.

Overall, this was a great novel and I'm happy I found it.

The story will keep you wanting more. It's mysterious enough to hook you up. It could be dragging in the middle but don't worry you will be satisfied with the ending. Although, there are still some questions that remained unanswered but most of them are answered in the last part. I love all the characters.

The translator in Jade Rabbit site did an excellent job. The translation is beautiful and almost perfect.

Read this if you want something a bit serious, a bit funny and a pinch of mystery story. Expect those... more>> cliches from time travel cultivation stories though. <<less

While reading this, considering how I felt emotionally alone, I give this 5 stars but judging objectively I have to give 4 stars.

I'll start of with my negative thoughts because those are bothering me more.

  • It started off good, I liked the first half but then the second one began falling off.
  • The 2nd arc after the MC started travelling with ML felt dragged out and unnecessarily long. It took me a bit of forcing myself to read through it. It could have been shorter chapter-count wise.
  • At the very end I felt like the author was just forcing the plot to continue existing and I'm talking about like the last 5 chapters. There were indeed some things that needed to be wrapped up but after suffering through the entire novel I just wanted to be fed dog food. (One of my main reasons why I'm giving 4 stars, not 5.)
  • I was generally more confused during the ending. I did skim through some chapters because I had zero desire to read them but still.
Now what I liked about this, the main characters were foxes. I like foxes and stories that revolve around foxes, especially nine tailed ones and such so I am happy I read it. I had come across this novel a couple of times before I gave in, and the... more>> reason why I did was because I knew the MC or ML was a fox.

The extra is smut. But the reason I'm attributing it to a positive thing instead of leaving out as I would, is because it helped further explain the emotional bond and love between the main characters. Little spoiler, the romance is connected to a chain of

All in all, I don't really recommend to read it or not read it. If you like foxes and having them considered of high standing, then I wholeheartedly do but otherwise I think this isn't that special to have it on top of your list. <<less

I really love this story! It's a very enjoyable novel in my opinion. Actually I can say this is the second time I've read this novel. Before I read till ch 90 but paused there idk why 〒_〒 but yeah this time I started from the starting and finally read the whole novel!

I'm really glad that I read this story! It's worth reading in my opinion. Very interesting and fun. It's got a very good balance between plot and fluffy light hearted elements.

I especially adored wen changchu and... more>> zhu yishu! I wish there was a separate story for them tbh (╥﹏╥) but well I wish there's more of them in the mo zun's story now.

f*cking hated rong bai's father, so glad that f*cker died but I'm still sad about rong san's death. Also in each arc I cried because of the tragic couple story but I'm so so happy in the end they all got a good ending. That's the thing I love the most about this novel ig, all the couples got a HE or atleast a good enough ending.

I also love our main couple, they both deserve to be happy. All in all, it's a very fun story and was an interesting ride. I very much enjoyed this journey and ask all people to give it a try! It's worth reading, definitely recommend it.

.... MC time travelled to save ML from having an incomplete soul. I was fine with it because it is a fun concept but the later chapters made that arc of the story feel like it was shoehorned in just for the sake of more drama.

It feels that the story had a lot more potential and way more plot to give than just simply being take-it-out-put-this-in kind of thinking. Other things that I have found to be so strange is....

MC's sudden dark backstory. I felt like it could have been explained better along with his arc of darkening and him finally returning to Xi Liang.

The strange book transmigration that they did which felt like it was supposed to be about the side couple Wen Changchu and Zhu Yishu but no, it was merely an interlude.

The side couples are vastly more interesting by the end of the story. MC and ML's dynamic was lost on me and a massive plot hole named Lou Muge was left without explanation.

But despite all that, it's a very fun read and has kept me interested until the end even when the plot device started working overtime. Good to pass the time with and even eat some melon seeds to the side. It does break my heart that a lot of the story's aspects weren't explored any further. Thanks for the hardwork, translator! Overall bad, I'd actually put this closer to 4 stars since I like fox demons, and they write action scenes really well. The plot was really all over the place, but the characters are likable so I don't regret the read. I feel like they tried to do too much world building through flashbacks and side quests so it felt kind of disjointed, but the chemistry between them is definitely there. I wish they had developed the side characters a little more since they seemed like fun.

I really enjoyed this one. Prior to reading this, I actually read a few reviews, so I had braced myself for the negative points... But it actually wasn't so bad?

The demon realm arc itself was actually super short, quickly followed by the time travel arc, which is where the changes in personalities happen.

But I think the problem is that it was rather rushed. It would have been received better had there been a few more chapters to flesh out our MC's change from cowardly to domineering. Or a few more background chapters of our ML's childhood.

There's comments about our ML turning soft, but keep in mind we have gone back in time. He hasn't had all those years to develop into our calm, indifferent ML. He was still under the control of his father who has done very unforgivable things... I had to resort to breathing exercises. Definitely disappointed we didn't personally see the end of that old fool!! 🤬

The ML "turning soft" is just a very hurt ML who doesn't want to lose another thing that's important to him, even if he's only met the MC for a couple days at this point.

(1) The last boss

(2) The very last arc (book/ink arc)

-... Uh... I actually don't know if this should've been counted as an extra? I get how it was trying to tie up that loose end, but it felt very extra to me. Maybe it was an extra, but it was specified in the translation as such? I don't know.

Pros:

(1) The FEELS

- 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

- I'm a masochist. Sue me.

(2) The MC

- The MC (in the first 3/4 of the story) is pretty fleshed out. I enjoyed his self-reflections and his very real reactions to situations where people may end up looking down on him for. He's not a saint. He was originally human. He hurts. He feels guilty. He prioritizes his safety. Doesn't make his choices right or wrong.

(3) The comedy

- I had quite a few LOL moments with this. Sprinkled just right, it didn't feel forced or too much. <<less

An enjoyable read, although the final arc was a mess. I can and do admit that I skipped some parts as it was too much of a backstory at the end for me to care about, or more right to make sense of it.

But its not bad and I did have fun reading it.

It is a novel about course & effect where the MC goes back in the past but that leads to the present. It has family situations & psychological trauma. All in all it was fun & enjoyable, I loved everything about it.

Cute! Love the action and the main couple is not annoying. I commend their relationship build up. The shou is not a pushover and not weak to the point where he always has to depend on his love interest. Live laugh love Song Ci!!!

This is one of the story that I read in one sitting, although I took little breaks like watching on yt lol.

Anyway I could say that this novel is good! Rating it 4.5 to 5? I'm not entirely sure. It is a great novel that will make you smile and cry. Yes there are pains in here so beware!!

The love between ML x MC is pretty sweet at the end. The romance flow is slow burn because MC is dense but funny.

It's a good novel but I don't think I... more>> will read it again, maybe only when I forgot the plot and the description will give me curiosity then Imma read it again.

Anyway I would recommend for you to read this! <<less
