Food blogger, Ling Yaoyao, transmigrated into a female supporting character in the interstellar novel “Legend of Huanuo” with the same name as her. She became romantic rival of the heroine with grassroots origin. In the end, she ended up miserably and became the male protagonist’s stepping stone on his road of success.

In order to reverse her cannon fodder fate, Ling Yaoyao gave up the mainstream college degree in pharmaceutical therapy system and chose the very unpopular food therapy system. By the way, she hugged the golden thigh of her God of War brother.

As a result, she accidentally became food assistant therapist specialized in Ancient Chinese cuisine who swept the entire galactic empire.

The original hero who dismissed her, entangled her endlessly. The original heroine who was a rival in love became her obsessive girl friend!

What’s even more strange is that her brother, the God of War, actually has a thought between men and women for her…

Since then, she can’t escape from everyone thoughts!

Ehh, just an okay novel in my opinion. I thought the ending was kinda dragged out and boring, but honestly the first part was pretty fun and enjoyable. It was interesting seeing her interactions with her friends and family, and I wasn't too phased by the relationship pacing between the ML and FL. ML is your standard cold faced dude, but does get much more flirty later on when they 'confirm' their feelings for each other. He wasn't terrible in terms of MLs in my opinion but he isn't exactly... more>> overflowing with character development either LOL.

As for the story, it has a relatively interesting setting, and it was also relatively??? interesting??? as more about the background of the novel was revealed. I also liked the brief interlude between the FL and the OGFL

Spoiler

because they traded souls, and the OGFL fell in love with someone on FL's side of the world which made me happy. I think this was a nice conclusion as well, since OGFL never felt like she fit in within society and stuff and was putting on a front for the most of it. I like that she found happiness in the end and didn't just disappear into the ether or anything like that lmao.

Another fun part of the story too is obviously the OGHeroine and the FL becoming friends in the end and supporting each other. The character interactions are also fun, and I would say like a good chunk of the novel is just sort of... cooking and slice of life interactions. Which was nice.

When it got to the ending with the war though I felt like it dragged on and became less... interesting to me. But I still finished it.

Overall, just an okay book. Nothing too exciting to talk about, nothing terrible really either imo. A good book if you want to just pass the time; it's rather short which is pretty nice, so the conflict doesn't really stretch out THAT much. Overall, 3/5 is definitely pretty suitable for this story I feel like. <<less

Dropped near the ending, but overall it was pretty enjoyable in the early parts.

I was on vacation while reading this, so I only read a few chapter every night. Honestly, I think if I hadn't been on vacation, I might have dropped this earlier.

Very extremely predictable story. The saving grace might be that the ML didn't have too much presence, because he definitely did not make the story any more interesting. The dude is your stereotypical cold-faced / general / OP mecha driver / possessive / doesn't communicate ML. I... more>> cannot spot anything that sets him apart from all the other one-dimensional MLs you see.

Spoiler

The enjoyable parts included seeing some of the female antagonists get their redemption. And the OG female protagonist wasn't super crazy or evil, which was very pleasant.

The team dynamics with the classmates were pretty nice as well. This story probably would have been loads more interesting if a different ML was introduced or if it had focused more on her friends/family than on the war/the ML later on.

[collapse]

The second half really started to drag. I usually try to push myself to read boring crap just to say that I tried to give it a shot and finished it but, eh. Now that I'm back from vacation, I don't feel like wasting time anymore.

Spoiler

The cannibalism in the near the end, gotta say, played a big part on why I'm dropping this. It's just exceedingly weird and makes zero sense evolutionarily.

Translation was pretty good, the only reason this is a 3 and not any lower, is because of the translation. <<less

It was an okay novel. Lot of frustrating and cringe line. 3* due to some interesting scene and how 012 characteristic.

how can ML fall in love with FL so fast. It frustrating of how she keep acting improper with ML even through later on she keep think and calling him out on it when she was the first one to have start it./spoiler]

Translation is very good, love the foot/food notes, The storyline is typical transmigrated cooking gold finger type plot. The ML is as always the super op doting type. But I like to read these type so I am bias. Not much plot hole, the story, plots all goes together quite smooth. It’s fun to read. Almost all side characters are fun and doting to MC so not much drama. A few face slapping and a few villains, nothing heavy. Even the aliens pet are op, are super cute. Overall good... more>> read. A very entertaining story, enough to hook me until the very last chapters. Like the title, this novel mostly consisted of foods and foodies. I actually skipped many details about the foods because the recipes often mentioned in other gourmet novels that I've read before, so it didn't take long for me to finish this.

Although I think this novel is good, I still felt uncomfortable about ceritain things in it that made me reduce 1 star when giving the review:

Spoiler
  • ML fell in love with MC a bit way too fast. It only took several chapters for him to completely conquered by MC when the only thing MC did mostly was acting coquettish and clingy in front of him and also cooking him several delicious foods. Also, ML was a bit forceful after his confession. He didn't take MC's feeling into consideration and kissed her fiercely without her consent. Fortunately, he got better after that and began to respect MC's opinion. However, it seemed that he turned back to a forceful one after the wedding. We could see by how he forced MC to have s*x with him over and over again and even fed her various supplement just so she didn't pass out.
  • I also had a brother but I still felt the way MC acted towards ML in beginning was a bit way too intimate for sister and brother. Moreover, MC knew that they weren't a biological sibling (ML was also aware of that). I know that she did it to "hug ML's thigh" but she should take into consideration that something might happen, right? They weren't biological sibling anyway. But after that happened, she entirely blamed it on ML for being a "beast" and refused to accept that maybe it was partly her fault for "stimulating" him in the beginning.
  • I also felt a bit disturbed by MC's action of feeding Zerg's king with his own flesh. Even this was just a fantasy novel, it was still a bit hard for me to accept it.
[collapse]

But I love the ending so much. The author didn't only give MC and ML a happy ending but also gave their friends a happy ending (although not all of them). And this novel is also one of novel that gave a conclusion and happy ending to the original owner.
