This is a bizzare novel. It's basically a drama story about a girl who live in messed up family but wrapped in game-sekai setting, which honestly doesn't mixed well. And this caused the overall story to move really slow since essentially you have two stories at the same time but only one can advance at any moment.

And even though it's supposed to be a game, it's really doesn't feel like one. The "NPC" interaction feels more like actual life in another world than game NPC, which is really bizzare world... more>> building decision. <<less

The MC isn't evil.

This is the story of a girl with serious mental issues and a really messed up home life getting into a full-dive vrmmo and going full battle junkie. The background of everything isn't really fleshed out all that deeply at this point, but the parts we do see so far paint a bleak picture of the MC's life and mental state. She doesn't really have a concept of good and evil, only being a s*ave to her own desires and whims because 'it might be fun', and... more>> the only thing stopping her from becoming something horrible outside of the game is the words of her late mother telling her how to behave. She's more of a shell of a person than a person.

Most of the reviews seem to be people who picked this up, read 10 chapters, then dropped it because it was 'edgy' and then reviewed it poorly despite not actually having really gotten into it at all. The story doesn't really seem to have any major plotline in the foreground, but in the background details you can get an idea of where it seems to be going.

Spoiler

Her father (who is a major investor) is using the game as a way to scan people's brains and develop AI technology as a way to 'bring back' the MC's deceased mother, but he also thinks his daughter is a monster and the only reason why he doesn't get rid of her (permanently) is because she is the last tie to his now deceased wife. All despite the fact he cheated on her and had a pair of illegitimate children, who's mother married in after the MC's mom died.

[collapse]

It's really hard to say how good this is in it's current state due to so much of the background not being clearly stated and a lot of the events in the MC's past being inferred/mentioned but not explained. I'm leaning towards 3.5 stars overall, but I round up usually unless rounding up would give a perfect rating. <<less

Fine if you don't like a good story or rounded characters. I'm honestly surprised ppl are even rating this 5*. The MC has no depth up to the point I've read it. Just mu*der hoboing anyone and anything, which is fine but there has been 0 character development and it's getting tired at this point.

I'm going to keep reading in the hope it gets better, but at this point I doubt it. (After reading other reviews It doesn't appear to get better, dropped.)

Her personality is the only thing that... more>> makes this novel interesting, but it's also the only thing DRAGGING the story down. Like nothing so far has made her likable in a way that makes me want to keep reading. <<less

A weak start, but then picks up and dives into the insanity of the MC for a bit, only to completely start to unravel, adding more and more characters, convoluted twists and plots. The narrative simply fails to form a cohesive, intetesting plot. Instead there's several stories kinda thrown in a blender, then add a checklist of atrocities for Reina to do and that's basically the story in a nutshell, a semi coherent mess that has interesting elements, but also are just so badly cobbled together it loses all meaning.... more>> Not to mention the plot threads that are abandoned all over the place. <<less

Damnnn I love this novel so much, I'm surprised I'm only now giving a review. The main character is interesting and her actions are both unexpected and sometimes hilarious. Expect a lot of action like a sh*t ton. Throw ethics and morals out of the window while you're at it because she massacres everyone. Young, old, man, woman, good, and bad. In general she just do whatever her heart desires and that mostly relies on whether that something is fun/interesting. She's both cute and terrifying cuz her common sense is... more>> a lil off.

The plot is keeps you at the edge and makes it made me wanna binge read it (which I did). Her growth particularly on her social side is always a joy to read because of the way she interacts with them. Going from an impossible person to approach to having people to call her friends is pretty heartwarming. Both her game life and real life are fun to read. All in all this is a 10 for me. I never get bored reading and re reading this <<less

It was pretty fun to read at first, but the story get's pretty repetitious as it goes on. Any resemblance or inclination of a plot starts on chapter 48. The story kind of just proceeds on and reuses the same formula it did 10 chapters ago. Protagonist meet's new people, kick's their ass, repeat. I guess it does change up the pace a bit my introducing the protagonist's life outside the game at around chapter 65, but other than that, not much else stands out in the story after the... more>> first 20 chapters. <<less

If you're looking for a masterpiece, this aint the place. However I had a ton of fun reading and anyone that likes power fantasy or psychopaths will have a blast with this It's a good book but if you're a critic then you wont like this. There are many huge inconsistencies with the novel including how the heck the main character and nobody else is OP despite some people even getting a decently sized head start but if you live for power fantasy this is a good story. Both translaters... more>> have done a really good job with their work. Anyways, enough of my rant go read this if you're a power fantasy addict and find something else if you aren't. <<less

You know Kumamiko? The endless fluff novel, everybody seems to talk about? This is that, but the oppisate. Raw, fun violence.

Ever read Max Vitality and think, "hey what if they actually deserved the developer's reactions?" This is that.

This novel is the tar for when you're overly full on fluff.
