Pros

1. The harem is pretty good. They travel with him, which is a nice change of pace from the harems of other novels which get left behind.

2. The MC is well rounded most of the time.

Cons

1. The author abandoned modern world plots too early and focused entirely on cultivation world drama. The modern world stuff is why I thought this novel was special. But at like chapter 200.. the author starts to slowly move away from the modern world. Then at chapter 1500ish, author completely abandons the modern world. Even when the author writes about the modern secular world, it's entirely centered around the mc's cultivation sect there.

2. The author spends too much time and wastes too many chapters on enemy dialogue. There was a period of almost 200 chapters where the author spent 99.9% of the time on enemy dialogue. It was dull because these enemies weren't even qualified to be side characters.

3. The author needs to improve on his treasure hunt plots. Because they are all the same. Hopefully he will.

4. The same as 1. Author abandoning the modern world really disappointed me. So much that I've to list it twice. The modern world plots at the beginning were so much fun to read. It's a shame that the author went away from what he excelled at, and steered the novel towards the generic cultivation world plots that every novel uses.

5. Unbelievably slow leveling pace. From around chapter 2300 to chapter 4000.... he only upgrades his cultivation one time. 1700 chapters and only one cultivation upgrade.

To put that in perspective, think of against the gods. There are less than 1700 chapters total in against the gods right now. Imagine how it would be reading the entirety of the released atg chapters, and that MC only has a single upgrade in the entire novel. It would be rough, right? This novel's 1 upgrade during a 1700 chapter span was unbearable.

I barely forced myself to read this up to chapter 8.... after that I just couldn't take it anymore (Normally I try to at least go for 30+ chapters before I make a decision)

Giving it 1 star is more than it deserves.

The character is supposedly a 1, 000 year old virg*n... but I suspect the author is actually projecting himself into this character.

This is just juvenile wish fulfillment with no redeeming qualities. The scenarios require you to completely give up any ability think.

This is a pretty good novel to read to pass your time. I don't recommend getting too into it though because the main character does a lot of dumb stuff that it makes you question his intelligence. The interesting aspect of this novel is the harem. Unlike most novels where the girls just accept each other at the beginning, on this one, the girls expect a monogamy relationship, not polygamy so if you're a fan of this type of drama, you might like this novel.

if you just want to enjoy a novel this will work, because the events that happen are decent/amusing.

if you want to nitpick on the details, then this novel isn't for you as it has a lot of logic issues that'll make you cringe.

• somehow people are very accepting of immortal pills going up for sale
• blatant use of cultivator moves in public but somehow they aren't exposed even though they are suppose to be secretive....

Of course you have the usual troupes in a CN novel:

• arrogant main charactor
• arrogant young masters with grudges like no other
• damsels in distress only MC is able to rescue

I had some expectation regarding this novel but got my hope crush after 100 chapters.

Not sure if the author did it with intent but as the story progress, it's getting to ridiculus.

How can you expect us for the MC to build some enmity with some people & leave it there.

Some might like this kind of story but with no solid content, I can't see any good ending. <<less

It seems like a great novel, but as it is still at chapter 5, I can't say much. I hope it doesn't turn boring like all the others cultivation novels with modern setting
