This is such an amazing horror novel that I binge read and absolutely fell in love with. Highly recommend.

Our MC, Kim Soleum, is a scaredy cat, but a capable one. He reminds me of Kim Dokja in the way he solves things out of the box. (They both come in with lots of info, but it's how they use it that's important, and this info also isn't omnipotent). He is able to work past his fears and overcome them when needed, which is such a funny part of the story... more>> when he acts stoic but is inwardly shaking. And to that one reviewer, no, I don't think he has to end up passed out from fear of his situation. Humans are adaptable beings capable of adaptation and overcoming limits. Our MC is one example. He's also kind (but hides it a bit like Cale).

Yes, MC does have an ability to research and gain information about the horror he finds himself in. He starts off being able to use them. But eventually, pretty quickly on, you'll see him in cases where this information does not give him the ability to breeze past the story. He still has to make deductions on his own. For example

The tuesday show he nearly died in did not have any clear hints because no one, according to that wiki, had cleared it before. Soleum had to get out of that situation through quick thinking and communicating with teammates.

The hang man game had NO SOLUTION (according to the wiki "cheat") to saving the hanged man. Our clever MC risked his life and did that on his own.

When his teammate got unexpectedly comtaminated, MC was the one with quick thinking who saved him, no wiki cheats used.

I could list so many more cases where the "cheats" a reviewer names end up giving him little to no help with escaping horror stories. MC's brain and quick thinking are what is to thank for that. Yes, the wiki does help him in the knowledge department, but MC is the one capable of actually employing this knowledge, deducing solutions, and physically carrying the out to the end.

On another aspect, this isn't just solving horror stories. The world building of this story is amazing. Not only is the government involved, but MC also works at a company. He has coworkers, bosses, and higher ups engaging in power struggles. He has friends. He has a team. And soon, you'll find that the wiki he has (bigger spoiler warning)

is NOT omnipotent. As in, the higher ups of the world control and doctor information, so certain things don't even show up in the wiki, which will end up as a later plot point and I bet will be even more important later in the story.

. This is a plot driven and character driven story, and I bet there's even more surprises set for the future.

Side characters are also stunning. Women are given a more significant role in this story (lot of prominent female company employees who are intelligent and capable).

So, if you like horror and world builiding, amazing characters, a capable MC, etc. What are you waiting for? This is fantastic story and one of my favorites. READ THIS. I'm so sad that I can't find more chapters and that this is ongoing. I can't wait to read more. <<less

This novel is probably going to be my GOAT, and that for a very long time. It starts as a funny misunderstanding tropes story about a self-proclaimed coward suffering from success at his new job. But everything is not as it seems, and you quickly realize that Kim Soleum is just way too nice for his own damn good. He sticks out like a sore thumb in this company full of selfish psychopaths & a**holes because he's always trying to save as many lives as possible. And it's not out... more>> of some false sense of superiority or moral obligation since he knows so much. If anything, he does it all out of love.

Yes, despite how much he claims to be terrified of & hate this world of horror, his actions show how much he actually loves this world & the people inside it. He values every life, even the ones who didn't have an important role in the original stories. He never repays evil with evil, and in every scenario that needs a sacrifice, he always chooses to sacrifice himself first. As he's screaming & crying internally, he will even treat some of the nonhuman, mind-numbingly horrifying supernatural entities with sympathy & kindness.

Through his lens, we also come to sympathize with, know & love the characters, even the ones that would be terrifying to meet in real life. While he's on a quest to somehow get back home, he's also well on his way to making a warm new home in this world, full of the people (& beings) he loves like family. It's just sometimes frustrating how he's too dense to realize how loveable he is. And as he stumbles around, hurting himself more & more just to help people, you start rooting for the characters who wanna lock him up in a safe environment (although admittedly, this world of horror has no safe places).

Maybe I'm making him out to be too much of a Jesus figure, but it's oddly fitting.

Especially considering how he's actually a summoned fragment of the fourth wall breaking eldritch God of their world. These people are really damn lucky he's such a kind soul, they really could have called down the part of Name-nim that loves the spectacle of human suffering, but they got the God that suffers for our spectacle instead. They should be a lot more grateful dammit.

Genuinely such an amazing novel. It pretty heart warming from the start. I love how the protagonist interacts with people but he never forgets his original goal of going home. He crazy smart and reading these scene gives you a sense of exhilaration. This novel is actually scary, and my heart's literally thumping wondering how the MC will get through his next trial. He made so many friends along the way of his journey and this story was also kinda funny even though it was a horror story. Don't let... more>> what I'm saying though fool you. I though this would be a cute story but after chapter 208, I was left bawling for an hour. I feel so bad for our Kim soluem 😞. I hope he'll be able to get what he wants because he really deserves it. I wish I could give him a hug. Anyways, its a great novel and I'm sure you won't regret reading it. <<less

Honestly from the start after reading the first few reviews, I had really high expectations for this and it delivered exactly that. This is so good I am really looking forward to more.

The unlimited flow genre is one of my favourite genre specifically when paired with a good writer chief kiss. That means I would read it even if the writing was not good. But this one not only is the writing good even the translator is doing such an awesome job. The way the translator is making the scene... more>> more engaging for the readers makes me get chills. This novel is amazing, as expected from the same author of Debut or Die, I read the novel before I knew this fact and I kept thinking "wtf this is so good???". Then I finally learned this and realised: so this is why the novel is so good lol.

Same with Debut or Die, I absolutely love how 백덕수 created the MC. This novel is also a perfect blend of horror and comedy, it know perfectly when to introduce which element so that I don't get bored or burned out from... more>> reading sth intense for too long.

This is so good

100% a great read if you like characters that act one way on the outside but are internally facing a dilemma (player hides his past, I was mistaken as a monstrous genius actor, etc)

but I also have low standards..

anyways it's a great fic I really love the horror parts and how MC deals with everything !!!

I love it. Especially braun, he was such a cute tiny bear. In this story it talks about the MC and his fear of ghosts and the his contradiction of the fact that he loves reading ghost stories. He dies and goes into a ghost story company where he tries to make points to go home. Misunderstandings about the MC personality is great!

I was really afraid that this story would become monotonous at first, since the beginning of the chapters seem to be forming a pattern. Not to mention I wasn't the biggest fan of creepypastas either, just knew a little bit about them. The biggest reason I started reading this story was because it was written by the same author as 'Debut or Die' and I love their writing style and world building. Their characters are always well thought out and the plot is just as engaging.

Suffice to say I had... more>> high expectations, and boy were they met! It was an absolutely thrilling experience reading this story. As I expected the author really has a way to make all their characters and the plot extremely engaging. While reading the story there were so many fun moments, I even grew to start actively becoming a fan of creepypastas all thanks to this novel. The story always manages to keep me on edge and there is never a dull moment, though sometimes I do start worrying about my poor heart XD. Sometimes I feel like I am getting contamination while reading the story, that's how deeply it pulls me in. Maybe this story itself is a darkness and we readers are unknowingly getting pulled into it hahahha

The main character somehow seems like a perfect blend of Kim Dokja from ORV and Shen Yuan from SVSS. A self sacrificial fool who is hell bent of saving every single person and someone who seems calm on the outside but always freaking out on the inside lmao. Also loved how both of the author's main characters are cowards, Moondae gets scared and covers his face while watching horror movies while Kim Soleum is barely holding himself from fainting.

The side characters are the best part of the story, love how we have all the types for that meme temple 'in good there is evil' ' 'in evil there is good' 'then there is our angel' and 'then there is this bastard; pure evil' (I can already think of one bastard that immediately comes to mind lol). Have fun categorizing each of the characters, you'll love it. They are all something else XD. I swear I can say with confidence that 백덕수-nim is my most favourite author ever T-T I love their stories so much <3 <3 <3

And I forgot to mention the best part, the translations! Translator-nim has genuinely put so much effort to make their translations engaging and match the vibe of the novel, not to mention how good they are, thank you so soooo much we love you <3 <<less

This novel is sooooo good. I love the scp/creepy pasta theme, it's amazing horror with enough graphic descriptions that makes the suspense intense but also the fact that nobody has died yet (lotm ptsd). I really appreciate the platonic relationships between Soleum and people around him. I'm struggling to say more because then I would have to write a 10K paragraph just praising this novel.

The only negatives I can think of so far are that the author doesn't mention small basic details like eating, flavors, taking out tr*sh etc etc.... more>> This sounds s*upid but I think you know what I mean. Those details ofc. don't need to be discribed each time but the novel in my opinion barely mentions them at all. It would make the story a bit more realistic (?)... I think but I digress.

I also want to thank the translator Salt Goblin for their fast and free translation! I really appreciate it. <<less

Very good. A lot of the dynamics are fun and rarely does the story drag on. It only has done so once & that is when the silly horror story logic really had s*upid rules to it. I have read 1 other story like this & I will say the premise of these sorta stories really benefits. If I could put my finger on it. I would say the constant change of the world building rules keeps the story fresh in that way. If you add in good characters and... more>> neat arcs you can easily make a wonderful monster of the week type novel. The horror setting and the wishy washy logic of scp things also benefits for inherent knowledge & keeping the story smooth. I think some QT novels even dip into the horror honey pot every now & then. Very good also has a really well defined goal which also may mean a really well defined ending which is wonderful for these types of novels. Some of the drag is looking to the horizon & seeing nothing. <<less

I absolutely love this novel and there is a reason it is at the top of the charts. The twists and plot are marvelously made and really you can’t guess what is going to happen next. The character development and complexity is also fantastic. There is nothing that I would change to make this novel better. I do warn though, it has a tragedy tag for a reason. Otherwise, it is a lovely read and I would 100% read it again!
