I met Yan Kongshan the summer after college entrance exams on Green Plum Island. Mysterious and handsome, with a tinge of melancholy, he was the ideal man of every woman on the island. And mine.

I wanted him to turn pink for me, but one day, he suddenly turned yellow. Despite that, he seemed ever so nonchalant when facing me.

This novel was pretty enjoyable and sweet with a very summer-y vibe. I personally wasn't a big fan of the age gap, but that's my personal preference. If you're able to look past the age gap, it's a nice, sweet story that feels very nostalgic.

This was well written... A little too well written. I could not stop once I started. I'm not a professional reviewer by any means but I can actually relate to both the MC and ML.

The confusion, pain, happiness and sorrow when falling in love is there.

This is not a novel but seemed to like a watching a friend fall in love and gain love.

... more>> Idk it just feels so real to me as I'm with MC throughout his journey of love.

I love how the side characters blend in on the whole story unlike other novels where the side characters are just there to push the plot. I love how human MC's bff is, and how ML's daughter (niece) is an old soul and how supportive MC's grandfather and grandaunt is.

This is a really feel good novel. Just the proper amount of drama to spice it up. <<less

i saw that some ppl doesn't like the story, and intellectually I can understand that. But, tbh, I don't care.

this story is not something to think too much about. It's something to feel, like gentle summer breeze, like sweet taste with a slight sourness.

don't complain 5yo kids can't be like that or something. Who cares? If you need ~realness~, open your door and go to the outside world. We (at least me) don't read bl for that.

I love it. This is beautifully written and translated. The island, the sea, the summer love.. It's just so refreshing.

Characters are well-written. Not full-blown angst but drama is there. I love every aspect of this novel and no complaints.

The main character's amusing and relatable points of view drew me in and kept me reading until the end. It's fascinating to hear him describe his various experiences with his "synesthesia, " because isn't it cool to be able to physically see someone's mood or emotions? In reality, we can sense other people's emotions and imagine what they are feeling, but the story's presentation of the MC's supernatural ability is an excellent addition. The supernatural element greatly enhances the plot.

Then, kudos on the excellent translation, which flows smoothly throughout the... more>> novel. It has a suitable tone and style, which makes the story more appealing to read. To be honest, it makes me wish Green Plum Island was real.

The endearing characters are another plus! Specifically, the MC and ML. I like both of them have flaws that add to their realism and appeal. And I like how they are surrounded by supportive people who assist them in overcoming adversity. I also appreciate how their romance developed naturally rather than abruptly. My only complaint is that I was left wanting more when the story ended. There are some additional stories, but it still felt incomplete... I'm not sure, but I was hoping the author could have included more extras to make the ending more special? But don't misunderstand me! Overall, I enjoy the story. I'd probably reread it because the translation and story are so enjoyable to read. A highly recommended novel for anyone who wants to feel in love:) <<less

One of the most beautiful BL novel I've read to date. It's not dramatic or over the top. It has a refreshing feeling to it and the MC and ML have stolen my heart along with other supporting characters. The writing style is perfect and the translation is also top notch.

All in all this is full 10/10 for me.❤️

I liked the 1 person POV it was nice ^-^ and while I didn't love the MC I thought he was funny and I liked his narration (he was pretty s*upid tho but I think it's ok since it's meant to be more on the "comedy" side). It had sweet moments and humorous ones, and just enough second-hand embarrassment that it was enjoyable and had me laughing out loud.

I wasn't crazy about any of the characters, and because it was a pretty short novel they didn't get that much development,... more>> but that's not necessarily a bad thing, otherwise the whole thing would have dragged out and become boring.

At first I wasn't a huge fan of the main couple, especially since I was worried the age gap would lead to some weird stuff (like dub- or non-con) but by the end I thought they were quite sweet and the author did a good job of balancing seriousness and light-hearted topics. I think it was handled pretty well and I have no grievances here

um well the only thing I really didn't like was that biting k*nk. Everytime they kissed and the predator/prey comparisons came out I was all like *shifty eyes gif* so yeah. But dw its not that big of a thing and you can skip over them

It was such a pleasure to read this novel. The author is so talented; the novel is short, but its content is rich. The author has the ability to describe characters emotions with a few short, beautiful sentences, and the atmosphere in this novel is wonderful; everything feels so real. It seems as if you yourself have visited this island; you just feel the atmosphere set in the novel. It's like a memory of a beautiful summer vacation.

Apart from that, I liked that MC is 18 and acts as such;... more>> this is the age when a person seems grown-up but still has childish characteristics and is naive and inexperienced. This is exactly how the author described MC. ML is older, but despite what he himself thinks, he's young too. It was really nice to read about their relationship. There weren't any dramatic situations, and the story wasn't anything new, but it was too realistic. Because the author is so talented, this work is brilliant, and the MC's supernatural powers gave it a nice touch. <<less

I honestly don't know how I feel about this novel and characters, but I was extremely invested in the story, reading it all in a day, and I smiled a lot so it gets a 4.

There was something that was slightly off, there was a couple times I was extremely annoyed at the story, but I can't exactly tell about what. At first I didn't like the first person writing but it grew on me. Sometimes I disliked the MC and other times the ML. I don't know, just confused... more>> on how this story felt. Also agree with another reviewer that the 5 year didn't act like a 5 year old at all. Even saying she is extremely mature doesn't make up for it. Might have believed it using story logic IF the author said she was 8 or 9 but not 5 year old preschooler. <<less

Once you get over the extreme 2nd hand embarrassment you get from reading the story in the MC's POV, you'll find that it's an extremely adorable story. Though the age gap between MC and ML might seem a bit large to some I was fine with it since that let into the dynamic of the MC being clumsy while trying to get the ML interested in him while the ML was mature and collected. This story is definitely for when you want a short and light read, I also feel... more>> it gets better with time when you reread it. <<less

This is a gem of a story. It's about family, it's about falling in love, and it happens to be about a gay MC. I discovered the BL genre 2 years ago and have found some great stories, but also a lot of unappealing stuff- if only more stories could be like this. This novel is not too long, and is bright and light.

Cute and fluffy romance with some sprinkles of humour and drama.

Lemme just say that for those who are still trying to have a general idea to decide whether they want to read this or not:

1. This is a slice of life, not too much excitement.

... more>> 2. Everyone is normal, except for the ability MC gained but other than that, everyone else is a normal human so there ain't gonna be surprises.

3. Story is well-written, recommended after heavy reads.

A heartwarming story that envelops you and makes you feel really comfortable and happy. Both ML and MC have wonderful personalities, the relationship develops naturally and is extremely satisfying. The side characters are also genuine and well developed. A very warm and fuzzy read that makes me want to go to Green Plum Island myself.

very very good read. As someone who is her late teen this is a very enjoyable and understandable story. It also make me realise that maybe if I have try hard enough as the MC I would have still be in a relationship.

Saw the extra and decided to read it and I still love as much if not more. I hope I will be filled with people who love me as much as grandpa. Kyc and the daughter<3

I lack one percent, no, even less than one percent of determination and persistence with which Yu Mian chases after Yan Kongshan.

Needless to say, my crush was buried before it could even see the daylight. Rest in peace.

This is my first time making a review, but I'll just make it short.

This novel is so good; it has plenty of likeable casts, it's short, and it's super sweet. It's written in first pov and present tense, which might be a huge turn-off for some people (it also took me a while to get used to after countless third pov novels, don't worry), but the translation quality makes up for it.

All in all, I heavily recommend this novel. I managed to binge everything in less than 24 hours and... more>> now I'm in a post-reading depression, lol. I never thought I'd like it this much, so go read! <<less

The best slice of life romance yet, really really enjoyed this one! I was reluctant to read this novel at first but I immediately regretted for not reading it sooner haha. I love MC I love ML I love all the people living in the green plum island. If you are still deciding whether to read or not then don’t trouble yourself any further just read it
