The cousin that Jing Huan has been closest to since he was a child was labelled as “the other woman” in a certain popular online game: only after devoting herself did she know that the other party was a jerk with a girlfriend.

After several days of being bullied online by people in the game, his cousin went abroad in a fit of anger and sorrow.

Jing Huan couldn’t take this lying down; he decided to take revenge for his cousin using the same method as that guy – buy a character in game and kill that slag guy thousands of times online.

With his strength and skill as the Great God when the game was first launched, wouldn’t he be able to kill that guy and force him to quit the server in minutes?!

He went online, eager to fight, but made a discovery after conducting a round of investigations — this slag guy was the number one DPS server-wide, number one on the expert ranking list, number one on the wealth ranking list, number one on the popularity ranking list, and number one on the fame ranking list.

Conclusion: Can’t screw him over.

Jing Huan felt despondent. He was just about to give up when he personally witnessed his dormmate’s online relationship end right after meeting each other in real life. The other party had sent fake photos and changed their voice, and had even cheated him of his money, triggering his dormmate so much that he was almost admitted to a hospital.

Jing Huan felt enlightened as a sudden realisation dawned on him. After comforting his roommate, he moved the high-priced voice changer back to his rented house overnight.

I really like the MC and ML! Their interactions are amusing. I especially like the MC's personality. He's strong, but the way he's portrayed is quite silly... adorable.

I wouldn't say this is top-tier, but this is definitely a quality novel in the BL+gaming type of novels! I feel like the MC carries the novel though. :P

It was fun to read, despite it not being anything unpredictable. I laughed at a lot of moments. The story really delivers what it promised in the summary.

This is the best gaming fiction that you could ever ask for. I am overwhelmed with happiness and joy. I love all the characters both protagonists and their friends (in-game & off-game).

The story was very entertaining and humorous. Every chapters filled with excitement yet sweet feelings as if I was in the cloud and over the rainbow.

Notes: This one was a lot of fun -- great characterization for the MC and ML which led to enjoyable and often hilarious interactions between them. All the characters felt nuanced and grounded in their motivations and emotions, which really helped make the layers of mistaken identity shenanigans feel meaningful rather than farcical. The MMO elements were fun and very well integrated into the plot to move the story along. The excellent writing and translation work ensured that I never struggled to connect to the story and was never thrown out of it because of shaky or incomprehensible prose. <<less

I was a little tired of emotionally charged stories when I found this novel, so for me it was like finding a gold mine. It's a light and super funny story !!! I laughed a lot and felt on my spine every time the MC was embarrassed, it was a great reading that I didn't expect to be so good !!!

There were few little moments of anguish, but even they didn't taste so bitter, something that I particularly loved. I loved the MC and his crazy way of thinking, having... more>> so much fun that I was a little sad to be done, I wanted to know more about what happened in their future, but since we don't have it, I'm just wondering :P

Anyway, it's a great fun story to let go, I highly recommend it to anyone who likes stories like that, little drama and lots of laughs !!! <<less

The second hand embarrassment is so damn real man ✋ I fell from the bed while screaming when I was reading this. I was expecting much more angst, since usually novels with easy-going and funny MC will have have tear jerking moments, but there are only a few chapters that are a bit angst-y. For someone that loves fluff, stress-free and want some laughs along the way, this is great ?‍♂️

However, I'm not a gamer. So it was kinda hard to imagine what's actually happening. There aren't illustrations of the... more>> characters as well so it makes it even harder to imagine ? because, why not? I recognized this one because of an Ao3 workh? About the legendary CP WANGXIAN. I was like, "Oh? This seems familiar" then "Oooohhh!! The fanfic was based on this! Awesome!!"

No regrets, you'll love this novel, you'll love the characters too.

I actually liked this plot. It made me laugh on how shamless the MC can be when he's trying to "seduce" the ML.

Another plus in this story is that you could see the development of the couple. It was fun to read what the MC was really thinking and what he feels, this also applies to our ML who is actually a nice guy and a doting seme.

If you're looking for a light-hearted novel you can read this, no need to think too deeply just enjoy reading this while relaxing.... more>> Hmhmhmhmhmhm. <<less

This is my favorite comedy danmei! It's so incredibly funny. The MC is just SO shameless and tries so hard to be an ideal e-girl LMAO ? The ML is such a sweetheart and, good lord, just SO confused bwahahaha ?

Since this is a gamer story, it does help to be a bit familiar with online gaming. But not required as the author or the translator explains the gaming elements so it's not hard to pick up.

My one minor complaint is: did the MC and ML really also need... more>> to be amazingly handsome basketball players? I think it would have been fine if they were just normal college students too...

I binged this novel in 2 days because I just couldn't put it down. 11/10 highly recommended! <<less

As a sucker for romance between two guys who started off not liking each other, this is an absolute gem.

A very light-hearted story, beginning with a revenge plot against a jackass who scammed girls online, but turns out to be a misunderstanding. Please do not worry, the male lead is not actually an a**hole, in fact, he's stoic and difficult to befriend in-game due to an unhappy online incident. The story accompanies the main character in trying to attract the attention of the ice-cold male lead and the two clash... more>> in personalities which ended up in sparks of romance is immensely pleasurable to the eyes.

Along the way, many comedic events ensue and I admit that a lot of them had gotten a good laugh out of me (although I'm particularly good at keeping a straight face).

If you're one for a story that starts and ends with you in a shit-eating grin, you're in for a treat with <Guide on how to fail at online dating>.

If you've enjoyed this story and wish to see something similar, I highly recommend <How to say "I love you"> by Feng Liu Shu Dai. <<less

Guide on How to Fail at Online Dating, or as I like to call it Huanhuan Stop Digging Pits for Yourself Challenge

I adore this novel, it's an all-time favorite of mine. If you want to read something with a cute romance and that will have you laughing throughout the whole book, then look no further.

Jing Huan (aka Xiao Tianjing) is a fantastic MC. He's got charm, he's funny, he's cool (in real life) (and completely shameless online)... And he's also his own worst enemy. Here's one from his greatest hits:

"No matter how many times you threaten me! No matter how many times you hunt me down! My love for Xiang Gege! Will never change!!!"

Xiang Huaizhi (aka Yearning For) is the ML – I won't say too much about him as to not spoil the story, but he's a perfect match for our MC. Many times you'll think you know where his train of thought is going, but then he'll completely blindside you by thinking or saying something that you didn't expect, and yet somehow completely makes sense.

As for the side characters, they were also amazing! Unlike in a lot of other Comedy/Romance novels, they didn't feel like cardboard cutouts meant to populate the story – they all had distinct personalities and I personally always looked forward to the way they'll react and contribute to the plot.

For the most part, the story's light and fluffy, with a few plot twists and some unexpected knives that strike you when you least expect it.

The plot is mainly pushed forward by the characters, who never let you get bored. You either have Jing Huan just constantly trying to fill the pits he's already dug by digging new ones, Xiang Huaizhi misunderstanding things and deciding to roll with them anyways, or the side cast coming in unexpectedly to throw in a wrench in whatever poor Huanhuan is planning...

A lot of common tropes are played in really refreshing ways too, which was very enjoyable to read.

Also, everyone else has already said this in their reviews, but I can't overstate how much this novel made me laugh.

Its really cute and funny. Many times throughout the novel I have gottten up from my chair and faceplanted on the ground due to second hand embaressment but it was still enjoyable nevertheless. Seriously though, the MC is so shameless haha. Would recommend ^^

What a fun read! I binge read this in one shot.

The characters are interesting, setting is well done and the interaction between MC and ML is amazing!

If you agree looking for fluff and a heart warming read, definitely read this. The romance is a bit slow, but feels more organic this way. Of course has lot of gaming, but the gaming portions are also good fun.

Overall a must read if you like bl heartwarming novels.

Huge thanks to the translators for a fabulous job!

Having just finished this I can only say I’m still flying high on the fluff!

If you want a novel that’s packed with fluff and comedy and a HE, with just a slight side dish of drama and misunderstandings, this is the one for you! It’s a perfect light read that you can binge through and still enjoy to pieces!

The characters are just the sweetest and funniest, from the MC and ML to the supporting friends, both IRL and online. The plot is easy to follow and without a lot of... more>> extended misunderstandings. Yes, some questions might rise about what happens afterwards, but I find it quite refreshing being able to use my own imagination for the future of these characters.

Also have to say that the translation is great! I can’t say anything about how it is Chinese-English, as I don’t speak Chinese. However, the English flows easily and explanations about expressions, slang and game vocabulary are put where needed! As a non-native English speaker (being Swedish) I really appreciate novels that are well translated, that uses correct English grammar and so on, makes it sooo much easier when reading.

I can’t give this anything other than 5 stars, an absolute favourite of mine!! <<less

This is my first time writing a review, after reading Chinese novels online since about... 2015? 2016?

It's too cute. The main character is hilarious and sassy. The angst is very short and not that bad. The story just makes you feel really good and happy.

The translation quality is great as well.

I love this enough to mtl it like 3 times and reread it from the start all over again, it hurt my eyes but since it soothed my soul so I can only keep doing it. High quality translation, honestly you can't hope for more, and they translated so fast. I kept checking on their website to make sure I read every time they release a new chapter haha. Thank you so much for translators and editors! You new readers will be sending them flowers and prayers for their good... more>> deeds.

I laughed a lot, there are so many cute moments. Also caught myself smiling like an idiot over small little things happening. Yet I also felt my heart broke and ached during those angst (thank God it's not for long)

I like the interaction between MC and ML, online and in real life made such a contrast that it somehow made things balanced.

ML is mature enough and accept things silently (yet not easily, he went through confusing ordeal before he realized his own feelings) while MC had not recognized his own feeling until quite far (it showed that he actually fonds of ML, it's just he was a bit slow about feeling, I guess?)

I even went so far to write a fanfiction for my own read lol.

Very much recommended for those who love BL and online game! <<less

This novel is genuinely hilarious. The scene where the MC is desperately trying to convince the ML that "she" loves slag men and the slag man who isn't actually a slag man ML is going "???" is one of the funniest I've ever read in a Chinese novel. Jing Huan's female persona is priceless, probably the best thing about this novel! The romance is sort of "eh" for me so far, but the comedic misunderstandings are top-notch.

This story is hilarious. It’s funny without being gross or using heavy pe*verted humor.

The MC, like the summary says, is posing as a girl to get revenge for his sister (more like his cousin that he’s close to.) The ML is the so called “slag man” that hurt her.

There is a ton of misunderstandings from the start, because of the MC’s methods to get into the MMO game and posing as a girl, a lot of drama and some face slapping. I really loved the game elements, being a gamer... more>> myself. The TL group did a good job describing to people not familiar or being gamers. The story isn’t too complicated and the world building is nice. The side characters are not cardboard or bland and interact with the main characters and world. They feel like a part of the story.

The romance is there but it’s slow building and easy going. It’s obvious and it’s not totally in your face.

Above all, I would recommend this story if you want a funny, light hearted BL romance. <<less

This novel is really entertaining and hilarious. Before I knew it, I binge read until the current chapter and the cliffhanger has me clawing the keyboard for moar please. The side characters, roommates, friends, ML's friends interactions and chats are also fun to read, can't wait for the next chapter.

MC's good at acting cute.
