the MC is interesting and smart and the chapters I read seem pretty decent. I've only seen the "holy necromancer" theme used once or twice before and it's used well in this story so far. It has the stereotypical light vs dark theme going on, just like almost every other isekei ever, though this one also looks like it's going to be mixed with court intrigue as well.

on a different note, I didn't like the overdose of slang the translator chose to add to the novel; slang can be really... more>> confusing for international readers who aren't native English speakers. <<less

This has to be one of the worst novels I've ever attempted to read. Every single character is annoying. I could feel a mounting frustration at the sheer level of idiocy and a cast of imbecilic characters. I wanted to reach into the novel and burn everything and everyone.

I'm quitting this novel because every second of reading this burns brain cells. I'm not even talking about plot holes. So far, everyone we've come across, and yes that includes the MC, is so ridiculously s*upid that I have no idea how... more>> anyone has survived long enough for their world to exist.

No. Just no. Dropped. Metaphorically thrown into the garbage can. I wish I could erase its existence from my mind. <<less

Pretty good novel, a nice all-round coverage of the main aspects, e.g sufficient world building, character insight and a decently unique concept. Only one thing bugs me.

Spoiler

The main character commonly uses a musket and prays to the God, Gaia, of that world, thereby buffing his gun with holy power or whatever. I'm pretty sure this is the exact same concept from Youjo Senki, 'Saga of Tanya the Evil, ' but it's still pretty good

This novel is mashup of many things that make me hate novel that have them. And yet I enjoy reading this one. Author made story interesting, funny and coherent enough for me not to question it.

pretty hype and badass fight scenes. Good and fleshed out characters if you analyze well enough. Good power systems. The journey and worldbuilding is good. The entire story is good. The plot spiked up after the novel gave you the basic things you need to know. In conclusion, it is worth the binge read to completion.

One character whose writing I liked was the mother of the third prince. And the third prince himself. The author wrote the arc pertaining them very well especially its ending.

honestly its better than most shounen... more>> you'd find. People would complain about how the protagonist has the brain of a goldfish but as shown in most chapters its the opposite actually. They just didn't have the capacity to take insights. <<less

I'm only on chapter 208, so still 180 chapters remaining but honestly don't think I'll make it there.

There's no plot. By that I mean, there is literally no plot. MC reincarnates and randomly decides to just do everything he's told and is then attacked by faction 1. He beats faction one and then in the same 1/2 chapters faction 2 attacks. Then when that ones done faction 3 pops up. When faction 3 is done, he decides to go on a journey for an item that he doesn't need as... more>> he's overpowered and definitely doesn't need it.

He lets people walk all over him and tell him what to do. Sure, he will kill who he needs to mercilessly, but that in itself is just out of left field as this guy was literally just a basic gamer before coming to this world. He's completely fine with corpses to the point where he eats during dissections and has absolutely no issue killing. Literally the first person he kills he does on a whim just to see if he's able to resurrect them.

Don't expect any game elements either, you get a "status" and that's it, no xp, no grinding, nothing. Well, you get an inventory but it's just mentioned and never really expanded on.

Don't believe all these people singing the books praises, I'm one of those necro nuts that live for necromancer stories and this is just bad. The necromancy is barely touched, he's more of a summoner and for the first 170 chapters he's barely summoning anything.

And probably worse of all in my opinion is how whiney he is. My god. He'll cry and cry about having to work so much and asking for vacations and that but for some reason doesn't think that he can just ignore them. Let's not forget, he has no real connection with these strangers, why he lets them treat him like this is beyond me, just walk away.

Oh, and one spoiler here
Spoiler

There's a dad who vanished for 10 years to search for the mc's older brother, completely irresponsible and extremely easily to despise the character, all the trouble is indirectly caused by him causing many deaths and yet he is not punished.

I honestly enjoyed this story up till the end of the third brother arc. Was it the author who didn't properly describe what is what or the translation. But

Spoiler

while it is somehow a "good" ending. Everyone in that family did him dirty. And it had been described that he had never personally done atrocities nor commanded such to be done. He didn't even have a proper name for himself.

His father a deadbeat, his mother a lunatic, his grandfather a muscle-moron.

Up till then the novel followed plot armor after plot armor with satisfying ends to the arcs. If you can swallow the unjustified doings of the imperial family towards the poor guy - then do read the novel!

It is satisfying to read about the "holy undead" and the weapon that MC choose to use.

As for the review mentioning "The character is promoting alcohol at the young age, which is very disturbing to read at all. It could be acceptable if he is in legal age, but MC is 15 years old!"

I think it was mentioned his body is a bit older than that. Plus, the MC is a transmigrated adult, one forgets the age of him most of the time while reading. And lets not forget that the novel describes a different culture and different times.

And lastly: kids are allowed to mu*der and go to war, but god-forbid they drink alchohol (note: I am talking about in-novel specifically). <<less

MC is disgusting who eats while covered in puss, blood and rotten body fluids, he is pushover and has a memory of a goldfish. He baptizes villagers and forgets he ever did that, even though it very significant event for him.

MC is reincarnated person but has no aversion to dead bodies and playing with zombies with their stinking fluids just because his class is necromancer? That makes zero sense, even in fantasy there should several methods to keep themselves clean while doing their shitty jobs or clean themselves after the... more>> fact. <<less

I don’t get where those “awesomeness “ come from

i don’t like everyone single characters in this novel (+ MC) beside only thr white hair girl (Charlotte) because she didn’t do much, didn’t speak much.

paladin and entire king family, muscle brain even our MC

... more>> MC IS IMMATURE BRAT, in and out of his so called “pretense”

nothing is dependable when we are the readers,

no plot introduction, no introduction of the character even MC (I learn MC name like 20+ chapters later and it’s not by MC internal monologue)

great potential really I mean it

by due to authorks laziness, I wonder why u slay it so BAaaaaD <<less

This novel is just average, not good, not very bad. Alot of the characters in this novel including MC are hypocrites. The power scale for this novel over time is just silly especially pertaining to the vampires. Example, at the beginning a count vampire was considered powerful but after a while they just small fry plus there were about 1 or 2 at first then somehow they just show up in droves or flocks, never ending, which is ridiculous. I gave up on this novel after the plot went towards... more>> "Attack Of The Titans" which is kinda lame.
Spoiler

Also the vampire King is just a sad naive creature. His motivation is pretty weak and also his power as well.

[collapse]
I don't like how the author writes about when one of the vampire sees how his fellow captured vampires getting tortured and experimented on as something evil and horrendous, are u kidding, this doesn't even make sense. The author has too much bs/wtf in this novel. I think the author ran out of ideas and just keeps plugging random plots and materials in. <<less

The beginning volumes were fun but then everything started being too easy for MC and I started losing interest. Plus webnovel with holding the chapters for over 7 months made me almost forget about it.

MC became op and him being a necromancer didn't really affect his position so the stakes had no meaning at all. The only reason I kept on reading was cause the dynamics were interesting. You can feel the author rushing through the later half of the novel.

I think this could have been a lot more fun... more>> if we explored what the heck Allen himself is and how his soul came to inhabit this plane and how he's able to use the powers of holiness and necromancy. (Also I ship Allen with Charlotte and Alice. Dang give me the romance damn it!) Some more moments with his wacky insane family could be fun too. Each and every member of the imperial family is bonkers and I like that. This novel could have easily been 100 chapters longer with proper time spent on the characters and this unique world and system and I would have loved it. Cause this certainly has a unique world building. Also we need to learn more about the gods man. They're important.

I used MTL to finish this as it's quite short.

this novel is really good ! It doesn't feel like it at all at the beginning but the more you read the more enjoyable it becomes, I mean come on 40 chapters in and it gave me the battle I waited nearly a decade to get from game of thrones !! WHAT.A. BEAST :)

I'm still reading but from what I'm seeing this novel should have the Op protag tag though honestly him being op is more on the supportive side which is awesoooooooome!! Remember he can also support his... more>> own summons :) what an awesome novel with an enjoyable main weapon and set of skills

edit: oh no no apparently he's going beyond mere support :) <<less

This was a pretty standard shounen adventure hidden under all of the flashy divine necromancy hijinks. The main character has to overturn his bad reputation while becoming strong enough to defend more and more friends he makes along the way from his path as an exiled prince to the guardian of the continent. Enemies get more powerful alongside the protagonist, keeping confrontations tense. The protagonist will of course inevitably win, but he is forced to overtax himself along the way. This sort of plot progression is a bit contrived, but... more>> the author acknowledges and addresses the plot armor as the continued arrangement of the gods that placed the transmigrating protagonist there in the first place.

Growing responsibilities crush the protagonist into acting outside his normal character; however, the ending honors his true personality as he heads off on a vacation (a new, and perhaps final, adventure before settling down in the capital) with his closest friends. Not a bad result by any means.

The story has no official romance for the protagonist, but there are multiple potential romantic targets around him. The author manages to give the protagonist potential ships WITHOUT turning the story into a complete harem, at least for the protagonist. One of his brothers on the other hand... hahaha.

Read if you are interested in an adventure story about a protagonist who needs to win against overwhelming odds. A protagonist who is able to turn the most reviled profession in his country into the most sacred. A protagonist caught up in events that span across multiple countries well beyond what he signed up for the fateful day he sat into a game cabin to try out an immersive game only to travel into another world for real. <<less

It's a bit of a fight-after-fight-after-fight. It's so overshadows other things in a binge read, that I'm tempted to leave the review just that. 'll see if I'll need to update this.

Note, the alternative title shortens to "Grandson... romancer"* as a default filename, in, at least one case, which is my case, and I find it funny.

*NU seems to force a space after three dots, annoying as it is, take it as another note?

This is a good novel. A refreshing read really.. Tho it is a bit cliche in some parts, it makes up for it with its exciting entrance and action scenes. The plot keeps me invested, while the crowd's 'Misunderstanding' of MC's action never fails to crack me up. The character's development is there, world-building, everything essential, at least enough to keep the story coherent and exciting. The ending does feel a bit rushed tho, but at least there were no loose ends (that I can remember)

The title is a lie. Should be called 'Holy Emperors Grandson is NOT a Necromancer'.

The reason I'm saying this is that due to the holy emperor heritage, his necromancy powers are inverted to something holy. Curse becomes blessing, muddy swamp becomes holy water pond, and the revived corpses have a holy element. This actually sounded interesting, but the author is an idiot. The MC hardly ever uses his skills, doesn't level up at all, and is far too accepting of being isekai'd. A modern person shouldn't adapt so well to... more>> medieval times where he is a gravekeeper in the middle of nowhere.

His unconcerned attitude is annoying, since he never uses his power to show he can back it up. He just sits at the back, buffing and healing them all. Hang on, that's a priest. Or since he physically fights a bit, then paladin. Sure as hell isn't a necromancer.

What the hell is a mangnani also? Does the translator not understand what translated means? Its not cute leaving words untranslated, it is rage inducing and lazy appearing. Now I have to look it up myself and break my reading flow. Minus one star just for this.

Some other reviews say this is good, but I lost interest in the MC, and therefore the story. Part of it was that his name hasn't once been mentioned yet. His true one, or the prince one. I am not joking. <<less
