It’s been a good read up till now. I will say though, only read this if you like slice of life, like literally straight up slice of life. If you are expecting killing bla bla because MC was an assassin. Pretty good slice of life with lots of fluff moments! 5/5!

Basically, this novel is about a killer transmigrating into an ex-soldier body. He instantly fell in love with the body owner's daughter and decided to live a normal and happy life.

So, he resolutely retired from being an assassin and had an easy life with his past life skills and memory (I think it's already so OP though).

The romance with FMC is also very good, everything goes with the flow. There's no premise like you have to be mine cause you're the mother of the child. MC and FMC are interested in each other purely because of their mutual interaction.

If you want to read how a lovely family is made slowly step by step from scratch, then this novel is for you. <<less

MC is dense and do anything for his daughter, his only wish is to live a peaceful life while raising and spoiling XiXi

It's a fluffy slice of life to read when you have nothing to do, but be assured that you can't find any action in here. <<less

With the appearance of the fatty thee story goes downhill and followed the footsteps of generic CN novels such a shame.... with the story and character interaction in the early chapter it really turns my mood to sour... I think I want to persist in reading this but as the chapter move on the fatty keeps on showing up! I don't have anything against shameless fatty characters but its just not suitable for this novel.. In my opinion..

So I would like to correct my previous judgement since the author removed the fatty!!! I AM SO HAPPY!!!! I can now say that this novel is very satisfying not only because of the heart warming feeling that you can see from the interaction of the ML and FL but also because of the cute xixi that never stops to show us her cute side.

The hot and cold atmosphere around the couple is so much for my single life, also the change that this relationship brought to the ML is sweet and satisfying like kids in their first relationship pure and full of happiness, I don't know about others but the author really did a good job in developing the characters in this story and and stories that are created by the author albeit they are not original but sharing knowledge that is not really prevalent to other people brings joy to me and maybe to others.

Author and Translator Nice Job! I want to read more and see the future development of the relationship between Yang Yi and Mo Fei ahhhh~ also xixi should be included hahahaha! I really love them and hopefully this sweet novel last forever~~~~

P.S. I would like to recommend this to everyone who wants to have some change with their reading experience since this novels is heartwarming and full of love even though the ML previous life is dark but his present is more like a fulfillment of his dreams away from the dark side that the once stepped upon. <<less

Gave this 5 stars. Though I could see several reviews saying this novel is rubbish. I don't understand their reasoning, maybe it's a matter of opinion really. The plot is fine as it is, the MC being an assassin in his former life and now trying to raise a child he just met, the former soul from what I understood is integrated in his (memories) hence MC was able to get into the job of raising the kid as his own. The pace is kind of slow but understandable seeing... more>> the author is building the relationship with the MC and the FL, however sometimes their interactions made me frustrated given by their stubborn personalities. The kid is cute and adorable and definitely added fluff in the story. I sure hope that this novel will be fully translated because it would be a waste to never finish reading this kind of child rearing story. Thank you for your efforts, Translator! <<less

If you want a nice slice of life story, then this is your pick.

There's no rush to get things super exciting (i.e: some over dramatic crap), there's a father being an actual father to his kid, and there's the simple want of having a kind of ordinary life with his family.

If you've had too much action/fantasy stories, this one is a good story to take a break with

Alright, those review about MC not being a killer enough is kinda lowkey crap.

He stated that he didn't want to be like his past life.

As an assasin, one need to blend into the target's surrounding, so those Frozen stuffs n all can still be accepted.

... more>> This is a slice of life, yeah, kinda boring but it's still okay.

The part when he tried to get his wife back is good to read, then comes along those backstory about his shop assistant and people around him (which is very not interesting at all).

Then his kid story... uhh... kinda hard to read because it cannot make me interested in it.

But, I still gave this a 4 due to its good natured story and heartwarming scene here n there. Others, uh.. not really interesting. <<less

Cute parenting novel. The story shares many similarities to Godly-stay at home dad.

The translation quality is ok but could be better, would rate it as a 3/5 for translation. The ads and how I have to wait 20 seconds just to go onto the next chapter is kind of annoying though.

the son felt like extra cause the focus of love from MC not so much but can understand it cause most father love daughter more than son. Love the g*ooming method and direction so that the child won't be a spoiled brat

I actually really like this, but I'm dropping this because... well, I honestly started to like the romance part more and more and the slice of life part becomes boring in return.

I enjoyed FL's character development very much. She went from insufferable abusive tsundere to cute tsundere, which I like very much.

I also liked the MC's character development. He went from awkward assassin-soldier fusion to super dad. He was also very immature at the beginning of the novel, but grow better and better as a person.

Can't give it very high... more>> rating, tho, because you know, many boring parts. It's really a waste to drop this.... If only I can skip the fillers and just focus on the romance and daughter moments parts. But there's no indication of which one is filler and which one is main story. So, I can't do it <<less

This is a great popcorn series to read. It's fun, heartwarming & wholesome, you can just chill and enjoy reading it. The only issue I see people having is the Female Lead is too flawed... and it takes time to "fix it" (she still has her flaws but atleast she won't be as bad as the start), to people who dont read as much they'll find it difficult as their relationship would be a bit troublesome till 200ch and by then they'll fix their misgivings towards each other i.e, finally... more>> talk to each other like normal human beings and solve it :p yeah both of them had their issues and they get annoying when the dont talk it out anyways after that they start accepting each other after that pretty much everything is wholesome and fun to read, you have to remember this is a long ass story with 1000+ chapter so it makes sense that the pacing is really wonky and unplanned out. Author has took his time to study over how to deal with your children, dos and donts, the psychological aspect of the parents actions which is really impressive and will give some good insight into these stuff. This is not something exceptional or godlike, but this is exactly what I expected from this series and thats what I got hence it deserves the 4 stars (as mentioned this is a popcorn series). As for people expecting there to be assassin action, there's not really that much and even if there's it will come like twice or thrice in the entirety of the story where he has to use his powers to deal with people. And to people complaining about filler? this is a damn slice of life with 1000+ chapters you have come with the wrong mindset if you expect it to go in a concise way. <<less

This is an exceptional novel with vivid characters and descriptive setting. It's a good mix of wholesome slice of life and excitement. One of the best I've read. Ignore the haters and try reading the first 5 chapters. You'll be hooked I promise you.

So far I like the pacing of the story and the plot development is quite eventful. I love the character setting for Yang Yi bc it feels like he's more real and not so idealistic like some MCs in rebirth stories. I just wish he would be able to clear the name of the orig MC even just for the sake of it. Letting it unsettled leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

This web novel is a good slice of life story. No excessive face slapping like other Chinese web novel. The translator doing good job at translating the story so that I can enjoy reading it.

The story theme is generic, about a super duper awesome person suddenly have a daughter and a mate. However, I like how the author uses transmigration with two personalities fighting as a start. It leave interesting interpretation about the inconsistency in MC behavior.

I just finished reading the story all the way through. Let me just say it was a worthy time killer. It's pretty fluffy and sticks to the slice of life genre more than anything else imo. Worth the read.

This is a combination of Perfect Superstar and Godly Stay-Home Dad (without the intense fighting and mu*der).

The novel is not boring. Until the end, it's very enjoyable unlike other novel where you'll have thoughts of dropping around the middle or near the end.

There are some inconsistencies but this heartwarming novel is enjoyable to read. Try it.
