Deeply-closeted Xiaoming has downloaded a zipped file and opened one of the novels at random. He closed it immediately after two pages because he found it way too kinky for his tastes, and can only faintly recall the cannon fodder and the antagonist.

5 stars because I appreciate this story, otherwise overall 4 stars. Definitely an "Adult" story in the sense that society is twisted and depraved. This goes for every single inner society aristocrat, INCLUDING the most sickening pe*vert of them (actually there's a couple contenders lmao but they're all really bad) all, our story's ML. Think high-key body modification, eg. A dog-eared boy that needs to go on walks but can only drink s**en to survive.

Characters: 4.7/5

I really really love MC. He starts off weak and then becomes strong, but tbh... more>> there's not much character development? Like it's just the way his setting is. But I really like the fact that MC is willing to do the things he has to do but at the same time hold onto himself and the things that are important to him. MC deserves the best and I really hope he gets an HE. However, it makes no sense to me how he could fall for ML, and I hope that doesn't happen.

On the other hand, I really really hate ML. Rn I gave characters a rating of 4.5/5 because I like how author is trying to shape ML to be; he's both a character twisted by his society yet pitiable and weak. I seriously hope he gets a BE, but not death because death is too good for him. Something like in Extra 2 (not canon thus not a spoiler), where MC is gone from him forever and he can only clutch at his memories and regret. If he ends up w MC imma just straight riot, total crash in ratings at the very least.

I also like the side characters in this story. None of them are totally good or totally bad, and I appreciate that the author is trying to show complexity. Honestly I think the writing and portrayal could've been better, but I appreciate the attempts.

Interesting plot. It's ironic how transmigrating into a zombie apocalypse would be a nightmare for most people, but MC's reality is so much worse that it becomes a sanctuary for him. The idea of a reality TV show is kinda weird though; in this world where technology is so advanced, they don't have better past times?? How is their population even sustained lmao. But the arcs are interesting enough, and quite original.

Since the Reviews for this novel really differ hard, I decided to give it a try and see if it deserves this high rating.

22 chapters in, I decided to start this review. I do not know yet if my impression will change. At the moment, this novel is absolute shit. The whole emphasize is on the SM and orgies. Allegedly this novel draws inspiration from the "Hunger Games" but you can't actually see it. The games aren't described in detail and even the process of winning isn't inserted. You get... more>> a bit told about the environment, who groups up with MC and then.... they won and are back to the orgie. This novel needs a Harem Tag and it is already not a 1on1.

The background of this world is holey and patchy... A world 1000 years after a zombie apocalypse is not "post-apocalyptic " anymore, in my opinion. (unless the translator or writer got their numbers wrong). To claim the deranged s*xual way of people is because they know that love is just a chemical reaction... does not make sense. We know that already and people still fall in love. So yeah... the backdrop is bullsh*t so far.

For some reason, MC has a (maybe) golden finger. When falling asleep, he transmigrated from the book world to a game world... where he builds a home, has a dog and food. Which is "saving his sanity" and he just takes all of this in stride as perfectly OK. Oh and it is allegedly a "body transmigration"... so that when his body stats in the game world rise, his body in the book world does too. Also if he eats or has wounds it counts in booth words... BUT it is not explained how this works, cause his body does not vanish in the book world and he will react if someone "wakes" him up and so on.

Oh and a few words about the translation... wtf?! The translator just inserts random notes, that are f*cking not marked as notes. No parenthesis, quotemarks, color changes or anything! The sentence will just become strange and then you can start searching where the s*upid ramble ends. Oh and that is not enough... the translator changes names of characters, because they seem strange to them or too cute. So "Xiao KeKe" becomes "Occoco"... yeah so much better... not!

So I made it to chapter 52.... and this is going nowhere. To all the people writing in their Reviews that "you only have to brave the beginning but it is getting so good"... please tell me when? In the last chapter? I read more than 50% of this sh*t novel and did not feel entertained at all. So this is the end. I do not invest more time in this kind of bad writing. There is no development or focus in this novel.

I do not recommend this novel at all. <<less

Translator's comment in the comments section is accurate. This is very tell not show, especially in the first half.

However the author improves their writing skills as the story goes on and its less of a slog to get through by the end. While I appreciate effort the translator puts in, their decision however, to have their TL notes and explanation inside the text instead of at the end, makes this difficult to follow story even more incomprehensible.

Pairing is toxic af but still satisfying to see them give in.

Twists are wtf... more>> but doesnt get expanded upon.

Doesn't drag on and there are plot holes aplenty but at this point, I'm not reading it for the story. 🤷‍♀️ Not much detailed smut, more fade to black or glossed over. Main CP are faithful to each other. <<less

The info on the intro is false. The MC Doesn't get railed, he is the one to rail.

Regardless of the surprises this novel gave me, Its absolute tr*sh on fire. I wasted my time reading this. This is gary stu.

I came here looking for something like 'How many steps does it take for a SM r*pe novella to turn into comedy' with the wild comedy and light hearted part, since this novel was recommended in that one by someone.

And whoever that someone is, I hope you experience the same scam... more>> as I someday because this was absolutely not what I signed up for. I'm an idiot for sitting through it.

Apart from that it's pretty okay read. If its to your taste.

I dont dislike this as much. Maybe I would have enjoyed it if I didnt come over expecting what I expected.

I'd say that 'Safety Manual Labor Tips with a Twist of 2D' is more similar to that novel than this one is. <<less

Objectively speaking more of a 4 star read, however I still gave it a 5 star rating because of the novelty of the reading experience as well as the good translation and writing.

Overall a very dark and explicit book. Think hunger games but with more m*rder and even more r*pe.

It contains but is not limited to (minor spoilers) : sl*very, survival games, r*pe, t*rture (including the ML torturing the MC), el*ctrocution, gangr*pe, SA, public o*rgies, m*rder, c*nnibalism,... you get the gist.

ML is a very... depraved person. He starts out as... more>> an overall horrible human being. It's more of a nurture then a nature situation, however if you cannot stand the ML starting out (and partially staying-this is a love changes a person but he still needs a therapist situation) as such a person this is probably not for you.

On a positive note this novel is well written & translated the MC is a bit OP by grace of his goldfinger, this however doesn't take away from his character journey and the overall enjoyment of his character. The moral dilemmas he faces when confronted with this novels carnal world are (I'm repeating myself however it must be said) well though out and well written (he has basic moral lines without being sainty or self-sacrifice-y).

The plottwist are delicious, the sidecharacters interesting, the plot doesn't drag (there were parts -the finaly & the ML character development- I'd have enjoyed to be longer however the story itself isn't one of those full-detail x000 chapter epics and it's shortness is not detrimental so this is more of a nitpick) and the main pairing is very interesting and cute (... at least later on).

So overall: definitely read it if you can stomach and/or overlook the overall insanity

I literally sped through this just so I could hurry up and get to the end and honestly I'm kinda disappointed in how long it takes for all the bad sh*t to happen and be over with versus how short and lacking in detail the last few (happy) chapters are. Also there is a sh*t ton of stuff that just never gets explained so I'm wondering what was the point of even writing all this awful stuff and then not completely explaining it. I don't even like to write reviews... more>> but here I am venting over how upset this story made me. All I have to say is thank goodness this story is relatively short because if it was 200+ chapters of craziness I'd be significantly more pissed. <<less

This story is simple as don’t read it if you’re not open to genres like this.

I love this story so and I’m not going in depth since others already have. But the execution of this story is amazing and it’s so different from other transmigration novels that I’ve read.

This story is basically Hunger Games, but with more focus on the s*xual s*avery aspect of things.

MC gets transmigrated into the body of a cannon fodder who will win one of the games and then is passed around and used up by everyone in this story's equivalent of the Capitol. The protagonist would appear later and put the cannon fodder out of his misery by killing him.

So MC is in an uncomfortable situation, because either he loses the game by dying, or he wins and is forced into s*xual s*avery.

I'm... more>> really interested in seeing how he'll handle this and if he thinks of a third option to escape the situation.

The only thing I would complain about is the formatting on the translator's page. There is no empty space between paragraphs, making them look glued together in one huge block of text. It's not easy on the eyes, especially when your eyesight is not great. <<less

Every few chapters, I wonder WTF??? This dystopian future world is so out there, it borders on being unacceptable and crazy. Crazy inner city citizens, crazy viewers, crazy participants, crazy ML and MC. I keep going forward wondering how much crazier it can get... and it does get crazier. So much so that the zombie apocalypse is considered a safe rest and recovery ground. Read the tags carefully before deciding to embark on this novel.

The actual plot of the Hunger Games inspired show felt a little lacking in parts and challenges seemed to wrap up very quickly with little action or description, but it is a pretty short novel and a quick read.

The shou ML does torture the main character in the early parts of the book (electricity and whips etc). It's not overly detailed or causing major psychological trauma to the MC. It's probably best to avoid if you don't want to see a little sadistic harm happening before they get together.

The setting... more>> is post-apocalyptic and morals for this society are very different, so there are some twisted characters. Nothing is too explicit or gory though. I enjoyed the setting and characters a lot. So many fun side characters (Wolfie). I just wish many aspects of the world building, friendships, and reality show had been expanded upon more. <<less

It's a happy ending but the process is the definition of tragedy. I know. It has been translated since 2020. People has been recommending this as they know I will clearly like it. I dragged it and regretted I didnt listen. It's very good. Really good I read this within a day. The ML and the lil psychopatic uke's relationship is like ocean waves. Sometimes calm but often times unpredictable and deadly.

I swear to god how they torture each other is really f up. I know the uke grew up in a society that no moral exist and our seme grew up in a morally directed society enhanced with scientific evidence, laid out their difference that complimented each other. One is devil and one is a saint. This is not technically a spoiler. But I just want to say this story is f*cked up that I like it. I just want to hide the truth lol

I'm really deprived of smut with good plot and no r*pe (between ML and MC) so despite the tags, I steeled my heart and gave it a try.

It wasn't as explicit as I thought it would be so I was able to take it but I'm pretty sure not everyone can do the same. Surely, it's NOT for the weak heart, but if you think you have slightly strong heart, maybe you can give it a try and then just stop if you can't take it anymore. For me, I... more>> admit I was really scared before reading but I didn't regret it. It was worth it and I enjoyed it.

Despite the ML's cruelty, he wasn't evil. He just totally needed a professional help but sadly, their world doesn't have any. I'm not that into seme protagonist but I love the MC so much! I love his OP-ness!

MC and ML's interc**rse wasn't r*pe but I do see it as a dubcon. The smut wasn't that detailed but I still enjoyed it. The story was really unique and I appreciate the author for putting a disclaimer that it was inspired from some movies and TV shows. Everything was explained well especially why their world was so twisted and f*cked up. The plot development, especially the romantic aspect wasn't bad for me. Well I'm not really picky so not everyone will agree.

First of all, the writing and translation is good. At least, it's better than most.

The narrative is not filled with action and not filled with slice of life either. It's a delicate balance that I did not get bored while reading it. Which is rare.

As for the story, I like the premise a lot. This is one of the better post-apocalyptic novels that I've read. The characters are flawed and lifelike. All key players made different impressions to me. I'm also surprised that all named characters each have different personalities.

As... more>> for the main couple... Yo be honest, their relationship at the beginning is very toxic. I wouldn't want to be in that kind of relationship. But it was well written. All of their actions are based from their personalities. But it might not appeal to others.

I also liked the ending.

Wow. This is of course a MATURE novel please be warned which it literally said on the tags and other stuff that involves in the novel. And for someone who can take up this novel it is terrific to read! Lol them mini angst tho, anyways the author really add some movies plots in here which is really surprised me and it went well with the flow. I didn't expect the setting of the world and the truth about humanity to be what it is either! Love the MC (gong)... more>> and his partner (shou) so many mental torture that makes me question about life lmao but nevertheless it was amazing to read to abide my time. Lowkey gave a 4 star cuz the ending felt a bit rush tbh. Thanks for the translators btw for your hard work really appreciate it!! <<less

I was confused at the start of the story because it kinda look messed up and the story is like all over the place, but when you read it more the more you will understand it, the MC and ML start arent anything good it can be kinda twisted but the ending they do is so wonderfull and so fullfiling, its a good story with a good message, because live is limited rather than indulge in hate why not indulge in love instead and be happy :'))) I love... more>> both MC and ML and Im happy they got their happy ending... thx author and translator fot the wonderfull story <<less

This was good. Had a different taste, it was fresh having ML like MC. At times left quite a weird aftertaste. Still it left me with many questions.

You know although the story is interesting.

The whole time I'm reading this is like I'm reading a not really p*rn and soft p*rn at the same time.

And like almost the whole novel it's like all we're doing is reading and at the same time imagining a text about how freaking sexy and masculine the MC is, and how the viewers (in the novel) just want a piece of him. It's kinda hilarious and somewhat genius.

I really enjoyed this story and the characters development was also very interesting. They were also a lot of drama but also didn't make the story feel dragged and boring.

I also liked how the authors made our main characters love grow. I really hope there is a sequel maybe set after MC and ML has past.

Overall I do recommend reading or giving this story a try and if the r*pe or gang r*pe tags are making you hesitate, non of our main characters actually get r*ped it is just... more>> put there just to help move the plot along and honestly most of the gang s*x happen when most parties are high on drugs. <<less

Y'all, honestly, I don't really know what I was expecting, but the f*cking plot twists? Great. When people say this book is different, they really mean it. I love the character development and the way both bright changes to accept his self in this new world and also Hopkins change and how he learns what feelings are. I really didn't know how they were going to reconcile their differences at first; I was sure it was going to be a BE, but the author was pretty adamant that it was... more>> HE and they did not disappoint. I really loved the conclusion of it; how just bc they got to where they got, they didn't just say "oh well, I did my part". They continued to push for what they wanted. Anywayss, they're cute together. Hopkins is such a cute emotionally repressed little thing, I love him. <<less
