Why everybody saying ML is bad? He is good enough, as a human, a man, and a king.

First of all, HE IS NOT IN LOVE WITH MC. Second, the rival (the duke) can control the kingdom via MC. And because of that then the ML is divorce MC. Isn't it good thing? He is not trying to control MC. He is too not do adultery and make MC suffering or jealous (like other ML in other story). HE IS A KING, don't forget that. He's trying to think about his... more>> people first and then he want thinking about himself, about his marriage. He doesn't want a civil war in his kingdom, just because he marriage the MC. And hey, I'm sure that he will love and marry another women when the kingdom is stable enough.

And then the MC. MC is sad because of divorce. But after she had a kid and do well enough, eventually she is forgetting the ML and live happily there with her son.

JUST BECAUSE OF THAT D*MN LETTER FROM ML GRANDMA, both of them is suffering from the drama and tragedy. You can't saying ML is bad, and you too can't saying MC is sad and suffering beacuse ml. Both is a victim of a greedy grandma.

Even this novel is shoujo, but the author and you must think first that ML is KING and NOT PRINCE. He has a responsibility. He must priorities his kingdom first. And because ML is studying enough to became an empress, I think she is too know about ML duty and what will happen if she became an empress. <<less

I actually really like the premise of the story. I wanted to know how the FL/MC would convince people how her child wasn't actually her's and the ML's. And although I don't like stories where the FL returns back to the guy who hurt her, but if done right the romance between her and the emperor would be worth reading. Yes u heard it right, the emperor is the ML. Why? idk. mybe because... Family, like daddy gotta daddy-up cuz blood? dunno lol. But I think it was expected that... more>> this was the outcome, and I don't really care that much about him or any of the characters. ANd that's where I find the problem with this novel.

Maybe its the translation, or its really the original way the novel was written, but everything was... bland. Tbh the first chapter was so fast that it felt like the MC and ML's history was just mentioned in passing. I feel like it was supposed to be emotional, it wasn't. Like " oh, so that's how she got pregnant and broke up with the emperor... Moving on, ". And, idk if its just me, but I think the author should have extended that and the chapter about her pregnancy so that the readers could feel how she had a hard time and how she got over the ML. I think the translation is alright, it is readable and understandable but it isn't special. Although there are typos, wrong spelling and grammar here and there, but it was alright. And because it is just "alright", it just doesn't make the story any better.

For the characters, I like the MC/FL. She is kind, smart, and cautious but doesn't let anybody take advantage of her. Props to the author for that. And thank god she ddnt immediately fall in love with the ML. But for her personality, I think she is just "wise mom", and might not go beyond that. If it did, maybe just a little. Same with their child, to me he seemed like "cute kid that's kinda smart" Just like LevelTryHard's review, he didn't feel that much of a character. Meanwhile, I don't understand the ML but its not like I hate him. I did not like how he just had s*x and divorced her the next day, but he wasn't as much as an assh*le as other MLs who straight up talk sh*t or ab*se the FL at the beginning. He is just "indifferent" and I think "ignorant" of others. It might be a way to make sure that the readers wont hate him too much so that he could still be ML without the author receiving much backlash, it seems that way to me. But this just makes him boring. Ive read some spoilers, he is possessive so he is tr*sh later on but he "reflects" on what he did. But with the way it was written until now, I think the readers wont be moved as much as we were supposed to be.

This wasn't a bad read, just boring. There are some stakes, but they don't feel that intense to me. It is an easy read tho, and a kinda ok story. If you are worried about the FL immediately falling for the ML:

She doesn't. From the spoilers it took a long time before the MC accepted and learned to love the ML again. So, Happy family yey... I guess.

I heard there are a lot of fluff, so look forward to that. But if you are looking for a great read with fleshed-out characters, good pacing and writing, this ain't for you. Its an ok novel you can read while waiting for new chapters for other novels. <<less

I'm holding back from giving a rating because Idk whether to give 4/5. This story has the potential of 5 stars but it's still rather early to say that.

This story entices me with the foreshadowing of angst. I love the MC. She is smart and reasonable. Meanwhile, I don't know whether I should like ML or not. Will be going back when there are more translated chapters.
