Honestly, I enjoyed reading this novel. The MC is 'talented', works hard and is just a good person, and the fMC is cute. Call it generic, I don't really care, what matters is that I enjoyed reading the story. There might not be much 'unique' about the story, but I enjoyed reading the (cute) interactions between MC and fMC, and I always felt satisfied everytime I saw the MC use his skills to continue winning in life (maybe this is how power fantasy fans feel watching SAO). Anyway, I would... more>> recommend just turning off your brain for this one, if you want to enjoy it. Don't think too much about it, just absorb the fluff and sugar, and you'll probably enjoy it! <<less

This is one of my fav romcom generic without to much drama. At first I was like I think there will be going to be much drama but after some chapter this LN turned into so much heart warming. I already start liking MC. MC is also doing best so he can overcome his past mistake. FMC really is too much pure and also she start realising feeling for MC. I also really like fMC parents and their love story. (◍•ᴗ•◍) ❤

Exactly what it promises.

There's nothing that I'd think it's so awful that it turns me off from reading it.

Might be a bit cringe sometimes, but it's a wish-fulfillment fantasy done right imo. The heroine is cute, too.

Update: there's currently 79 chapters and literally nothing happens. Many chapters are the exact same scene but told from the pov of like 4 different characters every time. You might wanna consider that before reading. There's a lot of unnecessary filler.

I must say that super long title made me want to rant about how japanese authors can't seem to find a good title that is short and use sentence long titles. This one is even worse as the first half basically resumes chapter 1, and I don't know if the second half is just the MC's ambition or if it resumes the next 5-10 chapters.

Edit: It is one of the better "time rewind" novels I've read, since the MC has matured in some aspects yet still struggles in what he... more>> struggled before. Edit again: I don't think I'll change my review again (except if it really goes down the drain). I think it is definitely at least 4.5/5 stars, if not 5/5. The pacing is nice, it feels realistic (I mean, apart from the time travel, but it is unexplained and is just to set the premise of the story). It feels natural, and yet since the MC is starting to shine, which really makes it all the more likeable. It is like a dream come true of any bullied nerd who regrets dumb highschool decisions, but in a plausible way. <<less

I'm finding a hard time deciding the rating for this novel. It's certainly mediocre, but at some moments it goes lower than that. I will leave at 3/5 but I feel like it should be closer to 2.5/5. Now for the review.

Wish fulfillment story by time slip. A slightly mature protagonist. This is the good part.

Love interest that resembles an invertebrate with angel like traits with perfect background that for some reason is close to our protagonist that could be considered autistic at this point in time. This is the... more>> irremediable flaw of this story.

The thing that made me give up though, was a certain moment where it became clear the author was blatantly copying events from another story. I had a slight suspicion from the premise, but once you get to a point where it is revealed that the MC

, then you have to start thinking about Kaguya-sama's story. The worst part is that this flaw was certainly not present a few chapters before when he had inhumane coordination and spatial recognition. And I know that the author tried to "explain" it, but that pathetic explication is worthless.

This rip-off of a story manages to be considered ok simply because the quality of many other novels you can find on this site are even lower. <<less

I liked it.

The ending is a bit rough, but other than that it a nice wish fulfillment romance.

Despite it being in school life romance category; there was a minimal of off-beat or awkward scenes. Mostly can be contributed to well handled characters in well handled events. It did make arcs less impactful, but it didn't fell forced or contrived.

... more>> Some arcs are too drawn out for my liking, but bearable.

The manga adaptation did handle the beginning a little more gracefully, but that's the blessing of hindsight.

5/5 personal review: It was cute. Filled with fluff.

4/5 Plot review: rough execution, but writing finesse saved it.

3/5 character review: generic but handled well. Minor background character need work. <<less

I even thought that these jewel-like days, this golden time without any missing pieces, should continue on forever.

But, that can't happen, and it shouldn't.

It's fine to take detours, to rest, and sometimes it's okay to start over. But ultimately—no matter what—we must keep moving forward.

Man, I know the feeling of not having the courage to breakthrough from your comfort zone because, well, they're your comfort zone for a reason. But at the end of the day, no matter how much you wish for the time to stand still and live forever in that moment, time will march forward, without regards to anyone. So the only choice you have is to move forward along with it.

I really enjoyed this WN, despite it's flaws and some cheesy drama, it sticks to it's message and main point; that is, to have a second chance of changing ones life, and to have the determination to do so until the end.

Although we might not have the chance to leap in time like Shinichirou does, this novel made me realize that it was never to late to change our lives, as long as we have the courage to move forward.

And I wish to find that courage myself in this lifetime.

I can safely recommend this novel to most people.

Here’s the good:

The characters are fairly well written. They all have a personality and don’t feel like cardboard cutout tropes that most Japanese novels include. The way the characters form relationship’s feels dynamic and realistic. The main character, Niihama, is enjoyable to root for and it feels like you can put yourself in his shoes.

Spoiler

The female main character is a sweet girl who can’t really understand her own emotions because of her surrounding environment growing up. The people around her feel like she needs to recognize these feelings herself which I can sympathize with all things considered. Her dynamic with Niihama is interesting all the way through the novel and the sugar that spills out of my mouth every time I read their interactions is worth every grain.

[collapse]

Here’s the bad:

The pacing is kind of wonky. The start of the novel is really fast paced you get to see the main character do so many extraordinary, usually out of character, things in quick succession, but right around the halfway point things seem to slow down. Now there’s nothing bad with changing the pace of a story, but the way the author does it is poor. It almost feels intentionally drawn out to get more words in sometimes. At one point I found myself skipping through certain chapters that felt like they didn’t pertain to the story.

Spoiler

I only really did this during the latter half of the story. In particular the “Part-Time Job” arc was painfully slow and I didn’t feel that it was entirely necessary, but it still pushed the characters to grow a little in the end.

[collapse]

Another issue is the repetitive nature at which the story seems to turn some times. I don’t really like to predict the outcome of a novel I’m reading unless it pertains to the mystery genre. Though this issue is really minor.

Spoiler

The only real example I can think of is that at one point the author describes the naive FMC recognizing the MC as a man. However, a few arcs beforehand, almost the same thing happens as a climax which kind of dulls the future narrative.
