I think I forgot to add review for this. But all other reviewers already stated what I'm gonna said. The female lead and her family are the main point of this novel. They so fun and hilarious together. I love that instead of hiding the dreams FL had, she just told her family. It shows how much tight their bond is as a family and the trust they have not like other family.

So good! I highly recommend this novel if you are looking for a heartwarming and funny romance. Fluffy and sweet, but balanced with a decent plot that holds your interest.

Also the romance is believable, no instantly-obsessed-at-first-sight kind of love, so it's nice to see the couple's feelings grow.

I love the MC's personality, so gallant! She might seem s*upid at first, but she's really not, she's just more like a military style - speaks straight, treats sincere people sincerely and doesn't put up with fake people, not afraid to live her... more>> life staying true to herself.

Enjoyed the novel quite a lot, love the FL's personality and her family.. Tried to read the mtl since I caught up with the translations, but unfortunately it wasn't as great at the translations since I could barely understand anything, even the funny parts feels bland. Wish the translator could translate faster, or maybe the would be a translator who could translate faster, not that I'm not thankful.

One of the best novel I ever read, the romance are slow burn, its not exactly love at first sight, the ML might be the first to fall, but its only 'like' kind of love, and then slowly it turns love, and then soulmate.

FL is the best FL I ever meet, she strong, a family first kinda person, ruthless towards her enemy, yet kind? She have bottom line against woman, you might think she's arrogant dumb, but no, she know what she's doing, and its not all luck she can... more>> grow up safely around politics, same as her ban family, they might look dandy, but actually they know what to do and say, and what not.

The ML is not at all OP, he's just a normal person with handsome face, very human character, have lots of expression, he got jealous a lot, he hide it a lot and would rather wrong himself rather than restrict FL freedom and decisions making. But all the time FL wont disappoint him, and would priority him first, making him touched and fall in love deeper.

The plot mostly about politics and war, and then romance, 50 politics, 30 romance, 20 others. The story sometimes move slowly and sometimes fast paced, it ends just nicely. I laugh and I cry while reading.

Failing upwards, the light novel.

Fun story about a group of noble families that has the right combination of looks, ignorance, intelligence, dumbness, and most importantly insane amount of wealth and luck to fail upwards. To be honest very frustrating if you put your your shoes to their 'enemies', but its written in a mostly comedic zone so pretty enjoyable read.

I love the MC, her family and the ML. It's a good story with good characters and plots. I laughed at how pure and innocents the MC and her family is. Truly enjoyed the author's writing style.

I hope the current translator don't drop this novel again, as I think it had been 3x the translator changed. So translator: we appreciate your work! Keep it up!!

I really love this author works. I amazed by the development of stories and characthers.

The drama adaptation is so far so good. Although there are some changes, the plot is still the same.

I really love the Ban Family, they are part of Royal Family but they are so hilarious. Lol.

If you search for a handsome black bellied Male Lead, and not OP Female Lead, a well done plot and character development, you can give this a try!!

Everything that needed saying has been said already. But hands down, I loved the Ban family and the ML was awesome in this. I actually loved ML more than MC.I like how they didnt fall in love at first sight or calculate each other for advantage and whatnot. Breath of fresh air!

This story successfully became one of my favorite from Yue Xia Die Ying's work.

I love MC. She had a no nonsense attitude and definitely wasn't a pushover. She straightly retaliated when she/her family/ML was schemed/bullied. She didn't care about other people's thought of her as long as she was happy. She was lazy most of the time but she was definitely not brainless or weak. And ML, what a precious boy. He didn't have it easy during his childhood but later, he found warm in MC's family. He was smart and scheming type with a gentle facade but he sincerely treated MC and her family well. He wasn't that proficient in martial arts but MC complemented him and became his protector.

ML and MC's relationship was also quite heartwarming. Between them, there were devotion, respect, and unconditional trust. It wasn't that they never doubted each other but they never let a misunderstanding or other people's provocation ruined their relationship.

Aside from MC and ML, Ban family also grew on me. And there's also the pitiful crown prince who was too kind for his own good. He actually only wanted to live a peaceful life but sadly, his family let his down and implicated him. It's a pity though because he's really a good brother for MC. <<less

FL is very domineering, we love to see it. She doesn’t take anyone’s bullsh*t and just does things her way since she’s backed up by the empress dowager and the emperor. People can talk bad about her but she’s doesn’t care and lives her life in her own terms. She strives to protect her family and prevent her death. I love that their whole family, though not very skilled in both civil and military affairs, they do their best to take care of each other. ML is also good, two-faced and scheming but adores the FL.

I enjoyed reading this novel. The MC is an easy going type while the ML is adorable and capable. I couldn't wait for new release so I just continued reading it in MTL version, lol.

The FL is narcissistic and lazy and a bit vain but has a good heart. Even though people thinks she is vase, she is quite smart. I wasn’t expecting to like the FL but I did. Her obvious flaws appeared cute to me. Loved the story and the chemistry between ML and FL. Especially loved the FL’s family interactions. Story is a lot focused on court intrigues but it’s not dry. The romance is slow but well done.

The FL is a carefree and daring girl who can live this way because of her family in those ancient times. Her family is very funny but they love her. The ML is also charming and sweet

One of my favorite rereads. All due to the refreshing FL.

FL is pragmatic and not so much of a romantic - she did not fall easily for the suave, handsome and number one gentleman ML. Both leads hide their true intentions not wanting each other to be involved. MC didn’t want ML to be implicated if her family fell. ML also didn’t want MC to know his plans in case it didn’t pan out.

MC will put ML as part of her family, but it can be seen that ML love MC more. Both did not verbally disclose their affections but we can see from the POV.

The drama did not do this novel justice... casting is alright but it did not follow the later part of the novel, to which the ML desire to establish himself as the future emperor and how MC dealt with her cousins, the ex royal members. That was also pushed by ML so he can see how much MC cares for him. <<less

Of all the female lead characters written by this novelist, Ban Hua can be said to be made a little more complex.

Her relationship with her ex-fiancé is quite complicated. Actually, I'm still annoyed with her ex-fiancé, which ended up not being so bad (his life quite good).

If possible, I want to have a character like Ban Hua, focus on myself and my family. Don't care what people say.
