Promising. Really cute. First half was interesting, I couldn't stop. I love entertainment danmei, they're a sight to read. But as all novels are, something always falls short, especially for this author. MC is depicted as mature, given that he's a reborn star and all, but the way he's described when he's shy or flustered is not in line with his image, and sure, sure, the author could be going for a gap moe vibe, but for me, it doesn't hit.

The romance was a bit abrupt too. While we can... more>> see that the ML has taken note of MC from the start, the transition from just interest at seeing a good star to a potential lover was a bit abrupt, and this novel is victim of everything is interesting before the main CP got together. Their relationship was too ideally portrayed, though give it time and it gets a bit better, but there are definitely more times that I skimmed through their scenes together.

Still, as an entertainment danmei, it was interesting, and I loved reading the filming parts. One thing I noticed in common with entertainment danmei's,... the gay movies MC stars in are ALWAYSSSS HITTING, that arc is always so good and the variety show arc always fall short haha. Don't look at the cheap n common title, this is actually rlly good story. Thank you so much to translator. Excellent translation. Lately I'd rather read google translation because a lot of text missing from other translators novel that I read. Finally this one among some few that excellently translated. It's a typical novel set in the entertainment industry where both MC and ML are actors which means that they both have to be present in all of each other's works.

I really want to read an entertainment novel where the leads don't have that need to follow each other around everywhere.

Just finished reading this gem and loved it! I believe this novel deserves a higher rating. I realized I've already read this author's other book, *After a Flash Marriage With the Disabled Tyrant*, which I also enjoyed. However, this novel resonated with me even more, particularly because of the main character, Ji Li. He's lovable and reliable, and both the MC and ML are well-written.

The main story is a gentle but satisfying ride, while the roles Ji Li plays in his movie star career moved me to tears. I might... more>> add a detailed review later, but for now, I just want to say that this novel is a great read. Do give it a try!

Just finished reading this again a second time and loved it even more than the first time. I appreciated the romance part more this time around as I finally grasped how important it is to have a stable yet sweet relationship where both parties understand and support each other through life and work. This has become one of my all time favourite BL novels. <<less

What a ride. I have no words to explain my feelings with this novel, as I have loved it from start to finish, loved the characters and loved the movie plots written.

I didn't have faith in this novel (as I try to do so I always have a good impression after each one) and this surprised me. Kinda goldfinger? Probably yes, but if you stop and think that MC has already been idk if 3 o 4 times Best Actor it can be totally understandable.

A very well written novel. The romance is sweet with tons of face slapping. It revolves around the MC’s step by step success from his hard work to become a powerful actor. He’s got an advantage as he was already a movie emperor in his past life before transmigrating. The MC and ML don’t actually get together until much later but the ML has quietly supported the MC along the whole way. Very sweet!

The plot of the main male lead being in a book was barely mentioned to the degree where it could have been written that he was reborn to his rookie days and the story wouldn’t have changed at all. Like he thinks about it sometimes randomly but it has no impact on his actions or those around him. Wish the tags included this was a MM romance just for transparency sake

The title is a bit misleading. The story is basically about our OP MC with film emperor level acting skills and immortal level looks climbing his way up the showbiz ranks with his also OP ML partner/silent supporter.

The detail put into the different acting parts and TV/movie plots made it quite enjoyable to read. The MC’s face slapping is continuous and unending as he steadily climbs up. It didn’t feel repetitive or boring because each script was quite well written and could be a proper legit story with twists and... more>> emotional parts that I wouldn’t mind reading. Come a point you anticipate the face slapping but it’s done well enough that it’s fine. Side character friends and agent/manager also cute. Their two pets interactions also very cute.

Romance is a big underlying factor amidst all the climbing, which was nice. Almost butterflies at some parts, but the teasing/flirting was on point.

Just wish the transmigration didn’t feel so much like a convenient reason to just give MC OP acting skills. Didn’t contribute much to the story.

One of the best entertaiment novel for me. I just want to say that if you love entertaiment theme, read this. If you love face slapping novel, certainly read this. If you love both them, what are you waiting for? Read this!!

I really think that this novel deserves a higher rating, like 4.4 or more. This is the only entertaiment novel where I cried not because of the story, but because of the movies in the story 😂😂 But the author storytelling is... more>> really great. I also read the other novel "After A Flash Marriage with A Disabled Tyrant" and love both of them. I also notice that author really loves small act like rubbing the tip of their noses, it's really sweet.

Both the MC, Jin Li and Qin Yue are a great character, really love them both. Read that some review said the ML, Qin Yue, is cunning, manipulative, trick Jin Li and others. I just want to said that before Qin Yue "trick" Jin Li to play that movie, author already gave a subtle notice that Jin Li have a feelings towards Qin Yue, it's not only because of the movie that Jin Li have a relationship with Qin Yue. The film just became a catalyst between them like I dont understand why they said bad things about Qin Yue. And Qin Yue also confess later to Jin Li about it.

I also agree that the post production process seems a bit long. I'm not a person works in entertaiment industry so I don't know the detail. But for my understanding from other entertaiment novel, the post production processes are kinda long but well it's not a dealbreaker for me hahaha.

Every character are really nice and well written, loves them to the bone. But I think that I can say that the plus point of the story for me once again are the story of every movie, it's really good and author did a very great job. Anyway, I hope this novel got a lot of recognition that it deserves and I will reread this again for a nth time. <<less

I was really curious about MC's mother and father but there weren't any aplnation about them 🤷🏻‍♀️

it has both romance and entertainment concept completely it's just maybe because I had read so many novels with the same genre and most of it plots sounds quite familiar that I was qurious which of these novels had been posted sooner 🤭😪

Their romantic life was actually sweet and my favorite part 😆🤤❤ (in some stories they just hint at it abit or describe it as driving or other things, I really don't like those types much)

It's worth reading (just one time because it is soo long🤧)

I’m dropping the novel, at less temporarily. Enjoyed the novel till the romance plot became more prominent. ML became too annoying; I usually like the trope of possessive partners but it became too unbearable in this novel.

Good points: the description of acting scenes (especially, emotional ones), translation, MC (he was quite smart and interesting till falling in love).

Bad points: couple dynamics between MC and ML, the loss of intelligence of both MC and ML in later chapters.

This was pretty good and wholesome 🥹. The only thing this lacked is the Ji Li’s previous lifeee, and the fact that he didn’t say to Qin Yue that he transmigrated or smthng like that. Im spoiling it cause there is literally almost no mention of previous life and transmigration so if you came here for thatt, ,

ANW aside from that, I love Ji Li, he so cool, and honestly he’s so accepting, like. If I was a best actor who won many trophies in my prev life, I... more>> would have a bit of arrogance and feel a bit negative about staring from the bottom and having to read those black fans comments would really hurt my pride. He’s so cool and he also deserves Qin Yue so much.

Qin Yue is such a perfect man that he will probably always remain fictional HAHAHHA. I guess aside from his family thoo. I love him too and I love how the author displayed him, how he is not just Ji Li’s lover but also a very established character.

i like the pets lol, surprisingly, there was not much pet mentioning which is good cause I would have gotten tired if there was too much, esp since there was a tag abt that HAHAHH (this problem caused by some novels 👀)

the side characters were also good, the haters were lol really face slapped. For those who said that Ji Li’s road was full of ups... are u fr? If it was anyone else, they would have gone down the road any time those black fans and manipulating actors did something to him. His rise was because of how he tackled those problems!

Ji Yunqi and yuan yifei were also good friends. I love how the author did not emphasize yifei and gi hengs relationship huhu, I would have just skipped it cause this novel was about ji li and qin yue. So im sorry for those who like side couples but this is the type of story I likee, just mini mentions of side couples is enough you know 🥹

  • as well as how the author's description of the movie and drama MC was in.
  • I also liked the side couples and other characters~

I really enjoyed reading this booked. I really like the main characters and the relationship between the two was really sweet. The other characters and CPs too were also very well written.

One thing that caught my attention was the stories that were written for the movies that MC played in. I really enjoyed reading those mini sides stories and they were really entertaining. It made it very interesting, compared to other similar entertainment genre books.

I have to say that this is very well written! Every time MC and ML acts, I cant help but be moved and immersed in their acting. I’ll quote one of the reader’s comment from chapter 29 because they fully expressed what I thought

”author knows very well how to describe the scene, their internal emotional states, and the background that brought such states about, in a way that makes the scene particularly gripping and emotional. It’s honestly a really rare skill and the translator has done an amazing job to retain and interpret that.”

I personally really like the novel so far. Fluffy and sweet, there’s a bit of comedy every now and then (or I’m just extremely easy to amuse). Granted, this is a stereotypical novel where the MC is an OP actor with an indescribably beautiful face, and everything he does is met with extreme praise. And then there’s the brainless cannon fodders who try to cause trouble and get face slapped. Anyway, I’m here for the fluff... and I like to see the MC get praised... and I also like to... more>> see the ML fall head over heels for the MC... Anyway. I really thought I would like this but no...

First of all, MC is a 30 year old man and he continuously cries in front of people he barely knows, even for a teenager that would be awkward and everyone seems to accept it... no one made fun of him and that’s what appears strange to me, not even sent him to a psychologist ?hes cute and gets shy so easy, the MC is supposed to be a film emperor that’s been in a rough industry for years and suddenly he’s... more>> really pure and shy, so it doesn’t make any sense...

ML was very clingy and I felt that he intruded too much in MC life, even though he never made a move or tried to have a conversation aside from work and seeing MC cry so I didn’t really get what was happening, he had a lot of chances to try to advance his relationship but he wasted them by not talking to MC and just being creepy by invading his work life, it made frustrated because how are you just gonna be so stalkerish yet not have enough courage to try to invite him for a meal or something you are just taking his space and for nothing, he could have been an extra for all that matters because that’s how annoying he is in the novel... the chapters were long and even though I read till chap 60 they never discussed feelings or relationships, they just don’t have any chemistry and the ML just seems to like MC for how shy and pure and how much ability he has, that’s not real love

it was slow paced but not slow romance I don’t know how to explain it. This was like reading a lot of novels mushed up together, and normally I think that’s okay because new themes come up, and the story has its own personality and color and the themes are expanded, for example, MC immaturity could have caused him problems in the past as film emperor but now he wants to do things different and become more mature and assertive and get professional help because of how much it affects him acting , or the weight of being transmigrated into someone and stealing their life from them, or the attraction to someone that’s older than the body you are currently on making it difficult for both parts to accept it, or the weight of loving, being gay and striving for a relationship with someone who could end your career if you do something out of line, and the anxiety being gay in society makes you feel, and how malicious people can treat gay men in the entertainment industry... that would make the characters feel more alive, like real people, not so 2 dimensional and stand out from the crowd, this could have been better executed..I’d like to think that there’s not a single bad story just a story being told bad <<less

MTL is easy to read.

Honestly, I had high expectation with this.

It's pretty different than the other transmigration genre that includes white moonlight or greentea character, rivalry to get ML's heart, switched at birth messed up plot. It's more of career oriented than I imagined.

Even if author tried a peaceful way for the MC and protagonist, it made the plot uninteresting somehow. And I honestly like the original protagonist's personality.

I grew tired of it after 50 chapter-ish, but still continue reading because I wanted to see the moment MC encountered the book protagonist. But it was a big disappointment. After three time face slapping, it lost its charm.
