I didn’t enjoy this novel. It is not light, it is not fluffy, it is angst ridden and in my opinion the author liked to torture the MC, which is the only reason for the gentle, intelligent ML to “blacken” into an a**hole

The MC started out as a sympathetic character, but turned into an idiot who only spoke in single word sentences to outsiders and mostly had physical contact with ML (no discussions between the two of them)

The ML went from being caring doctor of philosophy to an evil... more>> criminal who

The game elements were OK, the team wasn’t completely OP, they did lose and did learn. I wish there was more interaction between the teammates

In the end I did not like the ML or the MC, so I can’t recommend this novel <<less

just ended reading this novel. Last chapter made me cry.

I liked the both MC and ML. They were both dependent on each other which might border on being toxic but under the circumstances they were in, its totally understandable.

it has angst and also fluffy moments.

all in all a good read.

I enjoyed it alot! The dynamic is actually what I like most about the story, it's refreshing because they both have their own storylines/hardship.

It doesn't compromise focusing on one and neglecting the other. This is probably the first novel I've read that actually walks you through the process of 'ML throwing out the tr*sh and ruling the family all alone' -- it's quite enjoyable! The MC is also focusing on gaming, has a background and his own considerations to go through. They don't revolve around each other like how other... more>> novel C do -- I like that they both meet each other sincerely, and earnestly just want to offer help, love and support for each other to create a safe space between them together.

I think it's heart-warming, and I can see why they are who they are (bc of their circumstances/personality) which makes me enjoy their dynamic even more because it doesn't take away from that. Rather than erasing the dark/bad part of each other, it focuses on proving that they aren't omnipotent and theres at least someone out there that views them differently. It's really nice!

The translation is.... hard to read. But I like the translator's attitude -- very positive and seems sweet/open -- I'm cheering them on!! In terms of eligibility/actually understanding the novel though.... it's hard to say, but maybe if you've read more MTL you might have more practice with interpreting the passages.... it's an exercise in patience, but I think the novel is worth it... <<less

This story is definitely on of the best i've read. Heart wrenching, heartwarming, ahhhh it just took my heart. I reallllly love the MC and the ml. And the mc's friends are cute too. His families are sh*t, but the ML is there to protect him ❤️❤️

due to his nonbiological parents. There is one chapter, somewhere 35 above where the nonbiological mother talked to a granny, seems to be MC's nanny before. The nanny explained how the nonbiological mother just left MC who kept on knocking on the doors while it was raining outside. The mother didn't even let him in. Fairly disappointed at the nonbiological parents and the biological parents. One does child neglect; the other ignorant and are fools.

At times. Yes. The biological mother did seems to care for MC but did she ever try to connect to him? Understand beyond what he do? They seem to think he had a great time just because he lived his life with money at disposal.

One time, the MC went with his bio mom and one man didn't pay them. MC beat up the man, got him to pay back behind the back of his mom but disappointed at what the parents reacted.

It contains fluff, but both of them suffered a lot due to their families. For MC, he did not receive his parents and foster parents' love, while ML faced assassination, resulting in the father's death and his uncle's amputation.

I'm glad that the foster parents suffered, this type of mother is disappointing despite living together with MC for so many years. So cruel to abandon MC. I'm happy that both parties got their happy ending; stay happily together and get married.

I honestly thought this was gonna be a fluffy story but I was wrong... This story contains 2 lonely people finding comfort with each other. It's a slowburn one. The story starts of sad but gets better after they confronted their problems. Honestly I wasn't expecting this to be a good read... the author kinda knows how to play with your feelings; the author stuffs you with angst but, then feeds you fluff after hurting you as an apology.

Cute story about 2 people that found a better life through eaxh other. They have a somewhat unhealthy relationship that works for them (really codependent) but in a fluffy way. I found all the game descriptions to be a tad tedious at times, at the serious undertones heartbreaking (especially the last 2 chapters-too real too heartbreaking). Overall good for passing time

I have never fully completed a bl novel, I always get bored or frustrated but I finished this in 24 hours. It was the perfect balance of fast-paced yet not rushed and overall the experience reading was very entertaining. One of my reasons for dropping previous novels is because of how much the MC changes once he meets the ML but that was not the case here. The MC stayed strong-willed and paid the money back to his foster parents entirely on his own. I also liked the fact that... more>> there were no dragged-out battles between the MC and his bio parents.

When they tried to get money out of him he just left, didn't come back after they asked him to but continued going to school anyway. I hate when the MC goes back just to get bitten again and acts like he's surprised. So I was just really happy with the fact that he's aware and respects himself.

The MC is also just a really good guy, he helps people out, and while he might act kind of reserved he's there in heart. He's relatively cold but softens up around the ML since he's constant in his life which I think is really sweet, that's another thing he softens up but he does not act like a baby!

On to the ml, he has power and status like a lot of other ml's, HOWEVER, he worked really hard to get where he is. And it took a reasonable amount of time to get where he is right now. He and the MC both depend on each other and he softens up around the MC just like the MC does around him.

Overall this was a great novel and I hope you enjoy reading it! <<less

Ok yeah, the translation is sh*t but I personally don't really mind it, because I can understand with the help of some context clues. I like how the story progresses and the tempo is really good.

I personally don't agree with the person who said that the MC should have forgiven the bio mother, yeah at points she tried to stand up for the son but it was like twice and once she said "You're freezing the child's heart" or something like that and when the dad said he could win him back she kept quiet even though in her head she was thinking that would be far fetched cause the MC is really stubborn. When the MC ran away and went to live on his own the mother didn't even chase him down to try and figure it out or to convince him to come back... nothing. What kind of mother does that. And when she got pregnant she did not think to inform the MC until like months after she gave birth like lady she's your kid too! Anyway, I didn't like any of his parents whether the bio or the other ones.

To be honest I would have liked to know more about the side characters. Like Zhuang Zhou and the Xiao Zui, did they end up together? How did their love story commence? How did Shi Liang's art go? Did his mother get better? Did he even find love for himself? (to be honest I kind of shipped him with Yan Shen) Speaking on Yan Shen, how is his mother and did she get better? How is his father? To be honest I quite like the dad, even though he went to jail, he loved his son and I think he was one of the only tolerable parents in the story along with (Shi mother, the Zhuang couple. Yan Zhao wasn't really a great parent but he was good to the MC.) What about Li Sinian, he was the only character who knew about the original life. I would have liked to gotten to know him a little. Then there is the other kid who went to live with the Shen family after the whole Weibo thing it's like he disappeared off the face of the earth. And Teacher Wang, what happened to him? I liked the dude and it would have been nice if one of his blind dates succeeded and then he lived a happy little life. Anyway what I'm trying to say is the side characters were really nice but they weren't really talked about.

Would I give it a reread? Probably during a dry spell when there is nothing new to read. It was a good story and I would give it a 4/5. I liked the doting though) <<less

Lolll I saw so many comments saying like MC shouldn't have treated his birth parents like that blah blah blah duhhh do u think they liked him atleast even a bit secretly searching for the money in his suitcase and some are commenting like he played games everyday like whatttt did he used their money to play games he earned it on his own and ML soo both adoptive and birth parents doesn't deserve him at all....

It really is a nice story. However the translation is really not up to standard.

sometimes it gets more confusing that when you read the MTL.

I tried both since some chapters left me so confused I had to go check the MTL too.

... more>> but the story is nice. Ive read a novel called FOG before and before reading it I had no idea about esports or even the game written on it. However by the end of this novel I actually knew and understood how the game worked.

but on this novel, it might be due to the poor translation or I’m not sure if it’s the way the author wrote cuz I couldn’t be bothered to MTL each and every chapter, I understood very little and even skipped the gaming parts cuz I was bored.

may be next time I’ll reread it with just MTL n see if there’s a difference.

for now it’s a good story though reading it is not so smooth. <<less

I've played pubg for a long time and pubgM since it's season 4. The terms the translator and autor used are kinda cringe-y for me and not as accurate as what the players say or do. But! That was just the pov of a gamer. In terms of the story, it was so interesting that you don't even know you're almost done at reading it. Imagine me who thought I just started this morning and regretably I'm at chpater 50 🥹🤦‍♀️ I cleary binge read this for the sake of... more>> my sanity. It was so good that I really didnt know I finished it.

My good Little MC Cub is so adorable. And ML really is a gentleman.

The commenters already said what I wanted to say as a summary.

I just want to tell you that give this a story a try. I was really reluctant on reading this because I love playing pubg. But the story really is wholesome. It may not be as realistic as it could get. But the interaction between the ML and MC can make you sad and smile all the time. The MCs family situation sucks. ML filled it and owned him instead. I know it looks like his g*ooming a husband. But, what I realized here is, he never really made the MC sad or bring harm. ML was so good I wish I have one.

This was so sweet to read, I love them both so much!.

I was expecting a young master been expelled by their dad because some stepmother scheming scenario. But it was even more suprising under those circumstances our little cub manage to go through such hardships to even live.

I didn't expect a whole journey through E-Sports either, I thought he would get together with ML which make him popular because of ML's identity. It a nice addition, I loved how he went from the lowest level to become what he is... more>> right now.

Their relationship is so pure and blissful. How they need other in their lives, how they want to give each other all their love and things that they have. It was so encouraging to see our little cub working so hard for ML. It just so sweet ah.

I love the Live streaming comments. The fans are echoing what the readers want to say and makes it like we are living at the moment with the characters in novel. Good job adding this concept

There will be some angst in the middle, and also a twist I didn't expect. I had tears during that segment thankfully it was short and I was able to endure it for little cub and ML

Families of Little cub are all so tr*sh, they should't even allowed to be with children, I don't blame them for the swap mistake but how they handle things was so terrible.

I highly recommend this novel, it makes you wants to be pamper, and really happy at the same time. Watching little cub grow and watch him being loved is so comforting. IT IS WHAT HE ALL DESERVES OUR SWEET LITTLE CUB SO PRECIOUS (love the red hair lasting the whole way through ha!, they usually dye back to black for some reason)

PS. Skip the last 2 chapters of the extras, you don't want to cry if you can help it. (Little cub in a different time line if he didn't met ML early) <<less

Loved the beginning of the story. After a while I got distracted (because I don't like all those e-sports/in game descriptions), plus I didn't like the writing style. It was jumping around too much from one scene to another. So, I started skipping parts and in the end wasn't that invested in the couple. The couple was very sweet though.

A recommendation for those who are interested to read it all, DON'T READ THE LAST TWO CHAPTERS AND YOU WILL THANK ME FOR SAVING YOU FROM TEARS AND A LEAKY NOSE!

It was a good read, sweet and sour like the favorite flavor profile of Shen Chi aka MC. Loved how he hands in his own bank card as a sign of letting Yan Xue Xiao handle his money and him^^ and plans to make more money because of Yan Xue Xiao's ability on spending money like water.

While the translation was sometimes confusing, this story was still so interesting that I eagerly read it until the end. It's a strange mix of rebirth, gaming, business, and school genres that somehow work together pretty well.

I thought that the MC and ml's characters were a bit too similar (stoic and quiet), but there's a reason for mc's stoicness, and the many side characters helped liven the story.

There was a lot of satisfying face slapping in this story. There were a couple of interesting themes this story touches on. For... more>> example, the importance of timing. Helping someone too late is sometimes just too late. Being jealous of someone for their family or wealth is pointless - they might have their own struggles and their life might not be as pretty as they make it look. READ IT! IT'S WORTH IT!🕯️🕯️🕯️

Believe me, I was skeptical at first whether I should read it cause I wanted a good read that let's immerse quickly after stress. I ignored it a few months ago, then I decided to try it out after I saw a comment that says MUST READ.

You'll latched with the MC and see him have his character growth and its really touching.

He has talent but was misguided so he will slowly learn to cultivate them. ML helps to provide food without MC knowing since we don't... more>> want him to starve *starts sobbing after remembering the OG world*

You usually see cold & aloof ML and cute and outgoing MC but not this one, MC is expressionless to everyone and in any situations except with ML, with him he's a wolf dog turned into a milk pup since ML is his only family, the only one that cares. ML: Others don't want you, but I do. *Playing the game PUBG or even just looking at it is a big help to visualize the game competition, but I don't think it's a must cause the novel describes it well enough.

First of all, thank you for the translation! But I do agree with someone else's review that this could be a whole lot better if it is re-editted because it can be pretty confusing at times.

First of all, MC's pain and struggles here were the most raw emotions I've felt so far towards a character in novels mostly because the problems are far more realistic and isn't just based on the typical betrayal or heartbreak or even just plain misunderstandings that lead to a lot of 'could-have-been-avoided-heartaches.'

It was mostly a... more>> chance of fate, what happened later on to them due to a 'change' brought by another character. I just wished the novel could've also been more in depth in the conclusion and story of the other side characters too as their stories were pretty much left hanging and brushed over.

Also, I liked the premise in which ML didn't have the usual unlimited money in the beginning and was able to earn his own money.

Ps. ML's mother was s*upid. With her husband running such a big business, couldn't she have some deduction skills at least? And it really irked me that she seemed to have feelings for her husbands bff for her to side with him over her son. <<less

This story isn't fluffy - we see hardship and pain, but nevertheless, the protagonist and the male lead achieve a happy ending. It's very sweet and a lot of the stuff the protagonist went through felt real.

The translation's a bit rough, but stick to it because I felt that it was worth it.
