I really like this novel especially how the author portrayed the MC and the ML's journey towards a happy life.

It was not a light read. It was slow burn with some angsty and depressive scenes but worry not, it's HE. Though I teared up at the last extra chapters. The contrast between the whole novel and the last 2 extra chapters made me a little sad.

I've read a review about how manipulative the relationship between the protagonists is. I agree but I also have to clarify that it is not... more>> creepy. The ML tends to be a little controlling towards the MC but it is with a good cause. The MC was not the healthiest out there but he tends to be a little willfull. He overplays, staying up late training, loves eating too much sweet, and sometimes, even forgetting to eat. Without the ML interfering, the MC might collapse due to his bad habits. So yeah.

The translation was not the best especially on the earlier chapters and on the gaming terms but I've felt the dedication of the translator and the editor. So, kudos to them. <<less

It started out okay, I liked how the MC strived hard and all. Just that as the story went on, I felt like everything was happening too fast, like it was a summary and not much details.

Still a good read though.

I only read the main story got pretty tired of it after that.

it was cute ✅

the angst ripped into my soul

but sadly I couldn’t fully enjoy the story cause the gaming terms didn’t make a lot of sense to me and reading those bits became a headache

This is a very good story. The author is so amazing on how he/she conceptualized everything to create a perfect connections between the characters and be able to tell more about the story through leaving some hints. Especially after reading the last story in the extra, you'll be able to understand how it fits all together. Its such a beautiful story that I don't want to transmigrate into.

I rarely read 4.0 rated novels and the lowest rate I read is 3.8 of 3.9. But why is this novel rated 4.0 only?! 4.5! Less 0.5 because of the translation, which is readable. Translator really worked hard *pats head thank you for translating this gem!

This is a good story without many misunderstandings between Shen Chi and Yan Xue Xiao. I love the support Shen Chi gets from Yan Xue Xiao, when his relatives pretty much abandoned him one of the most memorable moments was when Yan Xue Xiao says something like since they don’t want him he’ll take Shen Chi.

While the initial meeting between Shen Chi and Yan Xue Xiao was a coincidental mistake. I liked how Yan Xue Xiao didn’t allow there to be any misunderstandings once he found out Shen Chi thought he was his virtual girlfriend he cleared it up and didn’t lie. The aspect of Lin Sinian’s rebirth as a bystander but not the MC or ML gave a unique perspective that shows just how important Shen Chi was to changing the fate of those around him, as well as how much he himself needed someone to care for him. The only thing I wish would’ve been explained was why Yan Xue Xiao decided to accept the friend request when he wasn’t reborn. Since in the extra he rejected the request at first only to later accept. Also the extra where we learned about how Shen Chi was without Yan Xue Xiao was too sad😭. What was funny was the pressure Shen Chi thought he was under to make money to support Yan Xue Xiao spending habits I wonder when he actually realized Yan Xue Xiao had more then enough money 😂.

It's slow burn love with angst. Some people think it's unhealthy love because they're too dependent on each other but if you digest the story behind their dependant you will know why they're too clingy. Not best romance but I can understand them. I like how MC and ML characters progression through the story.

A great novel about healing and forging your own path in life. Like the other reviewers said, NOT FLUFF. I repeat, NOT FLUFF. This is a novel that retains a serious atmosphere most of the way through, with heart warming moments sprinkled throughout. It tackles a lot (though tacitly) in regards to mental health, so I advise you all to be aware.

With that being said, this is a perfect novel to read if you're looking for something to pass time. It's not thrilling, nor is it something that makes you... more>> squeal, but the feeling it gives you is like soaking in a hot bathtub after a long day.

A Little Analysis

Both our MC and ML have flaws, but they suit each other perfectly. They both don't have a easy pathway through life regardless of their social backgrounds, but support each other so that it can be easier. Our ML would give the whole world up for our MC and our MC wouldn't hesitate to do the same. The gaming is also easy to understand, and the side characters—though not fully developed—are 3D enough to make you feel like they're human. The romance is also *chef's kiss*, if you ignore the strange metaphors in the papapa scenes.

Fair warning here:

As much as I appreciate the translator's work, the translation is a little hard to understand in the beginning. But it does get better as you progress in the novel (or my mind gets used to it?), so I wouldn't worry too much.

Another fair warning here:

I was always perpetually put off in the novel how the ML treated the MC simultaneously as a kid he was raising and a lover. That eventually faded in the second half of the novel but it made me a tad uncomfortable, not going to lie. The feeling wasn't enough to stop me from reading the book, but it did nag at me subtly certain times.

BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN THERE WAS g*ooming. Trust me. I may have been put off, but there was no g*ooming in this novel. G*ooming has severe implications and yeah, some of the stuff in this novel can feel off, but it is no where NEAR g*ooming. <<less

It's so cute, fluffy but can also dwelve into angst that it just keeps getting better. MC is portrayed as expressionless, blunt but can get so shy and adorable! I love that he sticks to his ground, is prideful and would use his strengths to get what he wants. The plot itself is so unrealistic but that's the main point of reading fiction! To escape from reality! Translation is not the best but the main points get across so I didn't have much issues. Also, cheering on the ML for... more>> holding himself back until MC is of-age. <<less

The story intrigues me to read more and more, their relationship started out funny, but the way the ML dotes on the MC while trying not to make him lose confidence is good. He's very supportive in whatever MC does. I giggle every time the MC go to the online shop to buy something. As for the family problems, well whose family aren't complicated? It's just the rich mother really makes me feel she doesn't deserve to be a mother; she only expects to have a good son and quickly... more>> chase someone she has raised more than 10 years away just because he's a bad son and proved not to be hers biologically, and avoiding him like a plague.

I'll say from what I read so far, the content just have a good amount of fluff and drama/angst enough to get you hooked and I expected a lot from it.

But I tried to keep on reading the tl here and have to drop it for now, maybe it's totally okay for people who are used to reading MTL, you have to guess a lot to figure out what is exactly said. Reading-experience-wise: not so pleasant. So maybe i'll catch up later when I become very curious and have patience to go through that again, or when there is a better tl. <<less
