It's predictable from the beginning. The one main issue that I hate about this is that it treats the world as idiots. Everyone else not in the kingdom has an IQ debuff and no one sees the results that the MC has produced, not even some of the officials in his court see it. While it does make sense for the uneducated working class to not fully comprehend it, there's bound to be more than a few people in several million who can see the results and then backtrack to... more>> find the logic. Nonetheless, it's an entertaining novel to kill time but only 3/5 in terms of a quality read. <<less

What makes kingdom building novels good is the cunning and ingenuity of the protagonist to defy all odds and win in the end.

The author knows that but he's not clever enough to write that, so the protagonist here just has an automatic win button that he presses every few chapters. There's no build-up, no challenges, no clever writing. And because the protagonist treats it like a game, he acts like a psycho without repercussions

I've struck gold reading this novel.

I started reading this not expecting much because I thought it was a just another wish fulfilment novel, it turned out I'm right, it's a wish fulfilment but GOLD, the plot is very well written and the comedy is hilarious! It's a fast-paced kingdom building story but doesn't just skipped everything, there's quite a lot of details of how the kingdom runs itself but still fun to read. I like how the MC explain his plans and moves including the cause and effect of his... more>> schemes. Reading this novel really makes you think MC is smart and knows what he's doing and not just BS. From chap 1 to chap 391. The story has been enjoyable for me. The ending is quite a surprise for me. I thought the story would continue for a long time but I ended up finishing the whole novel unknowingly.

I like the writing style of this author, smart writing and very clean, at the same time the comedy is really funny. I definitely need to try his other novels. <<less

Decent story with decent starting and ending. Though the author added few fanfiction stuff towards the end, it wasn't excessive so it didn't ruin the nature of the novel.

It isn't some great work but a work you will enjoy reading as a passing without feeling that you have wasted your time.

Filler chapters can be counted in one hand so there aren't much chapters to skip with something new happening in evey chapter and the story progressing with every chapter.

You would have filled bored it if was some 1000 chapters novel... more>> but being under 400 is just perfect for this work as it only covered what was needed and stopped when it should turning the novel into a quick snack.

The characters are not forgotten and mentioned from time to time and they do play their roles as needed to.

The romance is lackluster (as it is kind of forced) but not that bad, you can at least make the relationship between MC and his women unlike some novels where it's all but s*x with no build up. Also a thing to note that even with being a novel written on a king/ emperor there aren't cringey stuff like 3000 harem members and stuff. Here MC though being a bit lecherous still has some propriety and doesn't go overboard looking for women in every country he conquers.

Overall a quick read well executed. <<less

It is pretty much like the Authors other novel, I am a corrupt offical, just with a different setup.

I found the setup more interesting but it also suffered under having more characters (both friends/allies and harem members are more numerous and get less attention that way).

The ending was also less satisfying, because it's more of an ''The adventure continues'' ending instead of the ''Yeah, he is at the very top of the world and now just having a fullfilling live with his loved ones'' ending of the Corrupt offical.

It's exactly what it says on the tin. This is a popcorn novel that doesn't tackle heavy topics or have a deep plot. I had a wonderful time reading it. Only takes a few chapters to see the whole gimmick and if you like it it's worth reading all the way through. Nothing much really changes, the scale just gets bigger and bigger. The author mercifully ends the story right before it would have jumped the shark and veered into the realm of the ridiculous. The ending comes suddenly too... more>> and finishing it would leave you with a feeling of "that's it??". But it is a natural stopping point.

Translation quality is good and there were no points where it confused me. Perfect novel for reading during downtime. You don't have to bother remembering any names outside the MC and harem and just ignore the cultivation mumbo jumbo, they're just generic cultivation BS. Wish the author explored more of the kingdom building and uplift aspect but his cheat is so powerful its really irrelevant. <<less

A decent casual read. It’s funny enough for me to follow through with the story.

However, you really need to turn your brain off while reading this story. The story flow is quite obvious, more like a wish fulfillment one lacking substances, but it’s still quite fun. The characters are mostly brain dead, the MC is like a scheming cold blooded villain who could care less about bloodshed as long as it’s not in his country but pretending to be goofy and foolish in front of his close companions. I... more>> also cringed at several interactions between the MC and his female companions who are easily tricked by him as well as the propaganda: casually mentioning China (in a world that never mentioned the existence of that country lol) and subtlety (or not) backing Chinese agenda (especially with religion). But I accept that perhaps that’s what’s needed for this story to be accepted in China.

Overall, not a bad story to kill time but nothing special. <<less

Essentially a story of failing upwards. MC acts like a tyrant and fool, and things just work out and he uses his system to steal resources from other countries. Lighthearted, comedic, but slightly formulaic. Even the writing itself is slightly repetitive since every court official has to be ceremonious with their words. It's a fun power fantasy so don't look for anything more than that or you're gonna have a bad time.

A fun novel that soon becomes formulaic, with a little variation that keeps it readable most of the way through.

Characters are mostly flat, and new ones are introduced right until the last few chapters.

The ending is rushed, just aort of happening, and fails to tie off the plot.

Enjoyable if you're bored and willing to turn your brain off. Deserves 2.5–3 stars by web novel standards.

A god-mode sims player larping as a cultivating emperor. The comedy and gags are good and I feel the pacing is nearly fast enough.

However this is a pure comedy series. The MC can solve everything in map editor so there will never be a challenge. It unfortunately deprives the series of any interesting events.

It was fast pace cookie cutter kingdom building story that you definitely won't hate it. MC is the lowkey and underestimated MC that might turned off many readers but worry not with the fast paced story, it will be settled within few chapters... not after hundreds of chapters! I don't remembered what MC did in his past life but for some reason he possessed so many knowledges but don't mind it.

The MC is just like a player who plays Age of Empire on PC with Medium Difficulty bots.

Good for chill read since author literally let the MC steamrolled all the way to the end.

Hell, theres not even a scratch on MC's body even if hes in a world filled with wuxia element, other than the playful bite from one of his woman.

I am giving a 5 star purely for the entertainment.

This novel is a light hearted read and more like a wish fulfilment fantacy. So, this is not for the people who is expecting a struggling MC. Oh, and this is a Harem novel too. So Harem haters Should steer clear of this.

MC has a system and this is one of the strongest system I have seen from the fewer system novels I have read so far. So he almost never suffered.

If you want to take a break from reading all... more>> those depressing novels and want to have some laugh at Lin Beifan's shamelessness, just give it a try.

It's a fun read if you don't think too much. Just give it a try a 50+ chapters to see if this novel suits you or not. <<less

Well, I don't write many analyses, I usually only do that when the story is very good, or very bad, and in this case, the story is good, I would give it a 4.5, but I can only give it 4 or 5, so we'll go with 5, I'm going to try to tell you what I think of the story, without mentioning spoilers, but some things may escape, so be warned.

The story itself has nothing revolutionary, you feel like it's basic, but it's basic well done, the world isn't... more>> huge, but you can understand its dimension, the character has ideas and plans, and again, nothing much. complex, but it makes sense, and it works in this world, so it's a very light story, I would say more focused on humor, and also, a quick read, I believe that each chapter can be read in about 5 minutes, for readers who They like to spend a whole day reading, in less than 1 week they should be able to finish this story.

Now why would I give it 4.5? Because the ending was good, but it left me wanting more, you know? It's not a bad ending, far from it, as the story went, we knew how it would end, but there's that feeling that it could easily have another 20 chapters...

Anyway, if you're already a little tired of reading lots of dense novels, or with dense characters, this one is a perfect story for you, I'm personally almost at 200 novels, and this one was a pleasant surprise, so I recommend giving it a try. Take a look, but remember, this story is not revolutionary, but rather well done, and very good for relaxing. <<less
