Despite having found Mingxi, the Zhao family continued to favor the fake daughter, saying that Mingxi was not as kind nor as graceful as Zhao Yuan.

I just want to say that I really really love this novel!!!

Both FL and ML were really likable. Reborn FL was straightforward, decisive and hardworking. Her previous life was too tragic for me that even though I felt that the Zhao family and Shen Liyao were quite pitiful, I still stood by her decision to cut loose threads. She was a bit dense to ML's feelings in the beginning as she was focusing too hard on freeloading some luck from the ML. However, as soon as she realized that she... more>> actually likes ML, you would be able to finally see the girl's heart that she has been keeping for so long. All her mixed emotions towards ML after that was definitely relatable.

ML is just so dreamy. He definitely is the perfect boyfriend/husband. Also, finalllyyyy a TSUNDERE ML in a CN novel!!! The cute tsundere ore-sama type!!! He would always say something contrary to his feelings which made FL misunderstand at the beginning that he hated her lols. He would easily get flustered by the FL which was just adorable. I also liked how he would protect and support the FL with every way he can. I really enjoyed reading about him because he reminded me so much of my boyfriend >~<

Also, the side characters were well-written. I really liked their group of friends, the Dong family, and Professor Gao and his grandson. I even liked how the entire Zhao family and Shen Liyao was written too to the point where I actually wouldn't mind if FL ends up reconciling with the Zhao family in her 30's to 40's (just to the point of small talks and not really intimate family relationships) and I almost had 2nd male lead syndrome over Liyao.

Truth to be told, I thought Shen Liyao would just be one of those scums that are 'why are u no longer chasing me and chasing someone else when u were mine'. He did come off as that kind of person in the beginning and the story narrated how prideful he is that he didn't admit that he disliked seeing ML and FL together. Later on in the story, it turns out that he really did like her from the start of her chasing him. He just thought that his feelings for her was more of irritation and annoyance. Coupled to the fact that his bestfriend is a son of a bit*h who kept on telling Liyao that FL is annoying and dumb for chasing after him like some sort of brainwashing spell. Sadly, it was too late. By the time Liyao realized it and confessed, FL realized her feelings for ML. I do like how he did his best to interact with people more so that the next time he falls in love with someone, he wouldn't miss it again.

As for the Zhao family... sighs. In both timelines, the Zhao family just kept on living with regrets. I don't know if it's really due to their affection for Zhao Yuan whom they raised for 15 years or because of Zhao Yuan's female lead halo that they ended up neglecting FL. Once FL left (in the original, she died without telling her family about her cancer, and in the 2nd life, she severed ties on her own), Mother Zhao realized that she should've spoiled FL during the time they spent together and at the very least did not give preference over Zhao Yuan. Father Zhao realized that he should've gone abroad less and spoiled his real daughter a lot more. Eldest brother/OrigNovelML realized at how bias he was towards Zhao Yuan and he really never paid attention to his real sister. In both lives, he didn't end up with Zhao Yuan due to FL leaving the family. The second brother also regretted bullying FL with harsh words though he honestly shows affection like that. The third and youngest brother regretted not being able to protect FL and sometimes standing on Zhao Yuan's side despite being the closest to FL in the family. In the later chapters, FL does try to reconnect with the third brother since he really was close to her in the family though it wasn't mentioned after that chapter. Honestly, I liked how when their family realized that all the wrongdoings they've done to FL was so much, they stopped forcing FL to go back to their family especially when they saw her being surrounded by people who love her. They would only watch from a distance and make sure she's alright. At least they didn't try to take advantage of her marrying the super rich ML like all other novel s*um families lol.

It was a very nice read. Sometimes the passages would feel poetic even. You would truly love just all of the characters especially ML and FL and how they came together. It's so good you definitely should read this! <<less

Rebirth with a system where she needs to collect luck.

No aphrodisiac, no drugging, no killing, kidnapping F, no fierce struggle with inheritance.

She just wants to cut off her relationship with her family, decisive.. the ML is also a student, so not the CEO domineering type. He is a bit naive actually.

The ML respects the FL and consider her in every decision he made.

This story reminds me of the "After Rebirth, the s*um All Cry for Forgiveness" because of family background.. <<less

ok so I really love this story! I binge read it all this morning and am waiting for a new update lol.

the translation is really clear and easy to read and understand unlike some translations of other chinese novels. I like how mingxi's relationship with her family isn't so melodramatic that it reminds you of a soap opera, but in a way because it's so realistic it's more painful and easier to empathize with her. The chemistry between fu yangxi and mingxi is also very cute and I found myself... more>> giggling at times because them.

i really didn't have any expectations for this because I simply read it because I was bored but I'm eagerly anticpating a new chapter! <<less

Good one, I regret saying I didn't find it memorable at first. It might start off as a cliché switched at birth novel, and what set it apart at first was the concept of luck and the ML being soooo cute. Anyway, after some time I decided to binge read the MTL and it was actually really enjoyable and really easy to read.

At first I wasn't the biggest fan of the MC, she was your typical dense FL, but she's actually still pretty likeable. She's bold, hard working, and cares... more>> about her loved ones. The face slapping was pretty good, although I don't like revenge honestly I couldn't help but grin when karma struck back. At first I actually felt a bit bad for Zhao Yuan, not in the way that I wanted her to stay arrogant, but in the way that she found out she was not the bio daughter and she was understandably an upset child, but the family instead of looking for help, going to the psych or something, bullied Mingxi. Maybe Yuan instigated it, but she was a child at first that didn't know better, the family isn't much better, they are equally at fault even if they weren't as malicious. But eventually Zhao Yuan turned into a bigger nutcase and it is impossible to sympathize with her. I just think that the Zhao family could've handled this much better and they are equally at fault, because if they'd handled this better everyone could've had a happy life. But hey, everything turned better for Mingxi. <<less

It's okay to read when you're bored but the plot moves so slow. I hope it picks up soon.

The slow pace just drags out the filler chapters. Not much has happened yet.

THIS IS THE CUTEST COUPLE EVER!!

First of all, MC is really smart. After her reborn she didnt waste any time to suck up to her family or her fiance, she straight up goes to the ml. ML being the tsundere he is, well.. hes a tsundere so full of denial and silent jelous lol.

Overall this is basically about a girl who want to change her fate and successfully made it big at the end. Her family is a tr*sh at first but damn... I really wish the MC give a... more>> bit of face to them because when they realize they are wrong they just end up soooo pitiful especially the mom and the lil bro.

The oriFM, well I read some people sympatise with her, honestly I can relate to that like she was pampered her whole life and suddenly everything vanish. Poor girl. But then certain thing makes me still hate her.

the orifm is a f*cking two face b*tch. I just cant, she pretend to be this nice, considerate little girl but behind everyone shes doing everything she can to get what she want. And even more so she turn her back on her friend when her friend got in trouble after bullying the MC when the orifm is partially responsible for that too. Thankfully the lil bro realize this and even the eldest bro realize this too. Shes such a b*tch. Honestly if she just apologize and stay low im pretty sure the family can forgive her whatsoever but she just too greedy and selfish

Also because the couple is just too sweet, all the side character, especially the guys, have to suffer lol. It just so relateable since im single too and it was so funny. HAHAHHAHAH.

Anyway, this is story is just loaded with sugar and yum its so sweet. Sadly when this review was written the translation is only around 20 chaps but atleast the mtl is not that hard to understand. Do read this if you want to have cavity lol. <<less

Aww MC and ML interaction are so cuute. Funny that it's the ML that keep blushing, I like it ~

Tsundere cute ML unlike those usual iceberg ML. MC also decisive and not focused on revenge. An enjoyable read!

It's a really good read. It's not a revenge story. It's a story of how the FL lets go of her family to pursue a better life for herself, she used to do everything to please them and decides to grow as a person on her own. I think she's really admirable and great.

The way that the author portraits the feelings of the characters is amazing and made me quite upset and I kind of feel bad for the family.

It is realistic in the sense of why everyone was acting the way they did and the way they realise their mistakes.

And yes I agree, ML is best boy, he is super sweet and even if he had a tough life and is really awkward, he is the sweetest little thing I LOVED HIM

<3 and the couple is super cute together and all their flirting makes me feel so embarrassed and I loved it. I got hooked and I really enjoyed the read, however, I gave it a 4/5 because I have issues regarding the plot.

  • I feel that the author blames the family 100% for the problems, however, I feel that the MC needed to speak up instead of pleasing them constantly to try to get their love and attention.
  • I felt bad for the adopted daughter and she was in a bad position, she was spoiled and always had their attention I didn't like how they turned her into an evil character instead of offering character growth and get along with the family.
  • tbh the true villain is the nanny, I felt bad for ZY, until she burnt the house like what, I felt it was unnecessary to make her this evil.
  • Also, the author keeps talking about how important blood is and it's kinda boring because blood should not be important.
  • I felt sad in how she doesn't forgive her family. I get how much she has suffered and all, but I feel like they have realised their mistakes and reflected on themselves and deserve a second chance, the younger brother specially.
  • However, I think it id realistic that they showed that time needs to pass for her to actually contact them.

This novel is actually much better than I expected.

From reading the start, you'd think it was a classic setup for a revenge story but MC betrayed my expectations. She just up and said "nope" and separated herself from her biased family with no strings attached. Not a new trope but fairly uncommon (imo at least, could be wrong, please don't flame me).

Of course, as is typical of stories where MC 'severs all ties with past life tormentors' stories, the cut off family (and practically everyone who treated her like a... more>> nuisance before) suddenly start to see how they were oh so wrong about her and begin to lament her absence from their circle and try to get her to come back.

The trope is forgivable. I practically expected it the moment I read the summary.

One gratifying thing about this story is that MC is not annoying. And I mean that from a picky reader's perspective. After reading tons of stories where the MCs either act s*upid or unnecessarily cunning, it's kinda nice to read this one. She just lives in the moment but doesn't make a fool of herself in any major way.

PROS:

  1. Interesting premise. MC's life can technically be described as being dependent on how strongly she can hold onto ML's thigh. LOL
  2. Misunderstandings! Gotta love a good story where MC does her own thing and everyone misunderstands and that one cold guy thinks she has a thing for him and starts secretly pursuing her from his side instead.
  3. Go-with-the-flow MC. Executes her missions in a way that more or less just goes with the flow instead of grandstanding. (Disclaimer: She attracts attention anyway)
  4. Interesting romance. Not too rushed. Well, not as of chapter 14 yet at least. (Disclaimer: Red hair ML's actions are not included in this point. He just doesn't know how to socialize with girls)
  5. Good TL. Really nothing to say here.
  6. TL's website is not blinding. (Aka, dark mode! Read without going blind!)
CONS:

  1. Annoying *ss system. I'm so used to systems being silent helpers and stat bookkeepers that encountering this story's chatty *ss system made me want to quit reading on the first chapter. Yes, it gives tips to the MC. But I'd rather see her fumble around and figure it out herself.
  2. Little to no world building. The story is set in a school called "A High". The school is in an urban area. There is a neighboring school somewhere nearby. This is pretty much everything I decoded about the setting. The system's visuals or presence is completely unexplained. Except villain (F) MC, (new) ML and apparent novel FL, no one else's looks are described. And I assure you there are many characters who keep appearing regularly. This novel does a very bad job of helping readers visualize in their minds.
  3. Overly basic character descriptions.

Personally, not my cup of tea.

The writing wasn't bad but it lacked a certain level of direction and engagement. The translation itself, though, was fantastic.

As Potatosince1 said, MC is a Mary Sue. Which isn't bad, but not something I am looking for. I would have liked if she wasn't just the perfect flower who was pretty, smart, and had a tragic past that she "overcame". Give her more intentional flaws that would make her human please. And not a quirky flaw that she gets drunk easily. Something that makes you... more>> want to analyze the grey areas. I do appreciate that she stays on her ground regarding her family who treated her badly though.

Additionally, there were some plot points that were mentioned early on in the story that felt too long to get to. It felt as if it was written to build anticipation just to be forgotten, and then casually brought up to fill that plot hole. I don't usually mind a slow plot, but without intentional buildup and forethought it gets exhausting after a certain point. Maybe this is just me being nitpicky of my own preferences. And maybe it does get better later on! Especially looking at the other reviews, I am in the minority opinion. I just don't think I can deal with this story any longer. Maybe it's because I've been spoiled reading a lot of other good novels in this genre that I couldn't feel the angst I was craving. But it isn't good nor is it bad. Just very mediocre and not something I want to further put time into.

There's a lot more that I didn't talk about (ML, the family, Zhao Yuan, etc), but I don't think there's anything that hasn't been said already. Maybe I'll pick this back up again later on and change my mind

but for now I'm not a fan.

(I probably would have given this a 2/5 stars but with it being translated well compared to some other novels here, I bumped it up to a 3/5)

Came to the novel from the “webtoon.” First let me start that the webtoon feels very disjointed and hard to understand. The novel was easy to read and understand. I got teared eye in anger and sadness for the MC and ML and how their families treated them.

She never forgave them afterwards even when they tried to win her favor in guilt. It was very nice to see for once that the MC does not give into their ab*sers attempt to win them back.

    her biological family’s obsession with punishing/ kicking out the Adopted Daughter was so gross to me. I really didn’t think they were good people even at the end. Yes she needed punishment but kicking your child out and cutting all ties off with her was f*cked up after you raised her and favored her for 15 years. It’s like they were trying to use her as a scape goat for their own hypocrisy. They were the ones that drove her to commit a crime and be a bad person in the end I feel. This family will never be good people in my eyes which made it extra satisfying when the MC just cut all ties with them. Even in the extra stories or when we see the biological family’s grieving after the MC dies of cancer in the original timeline, I just felt sadness and anger for the MC because of how lonely she probably was her final moments. But yeah I was very grossed out by their “blood is better than fake relationships with my adopted daughter” was so weird to me and maybe I wonder if it’s a cultural thing?

Not bad but also not that good. MC ready to move on but the Zhou's family (MC biological family) was that typical CNnovel family (doesn't listen to what people said). Their regret is what keep me reading this lol.

Zhou Yan (The fake daughter) is not that evil but can manipulative girl. If she can get rid of that self centered personality, maybe she can have redemption arc but unfortunately she didn't. I think because of the Zhou's family spoiling this girl and never being thought to share. She... more>> destroyed herself because of that. That's why I'm feeling complicated about her ending.

ML is typical Tsundere character lol but at some point, he can be manly. He is a good kid, have trauma but never hurt MC because of that trauma. Fill with vinegar (*jealousy). I don't think he shown that possessive personality (?) like some said. He can be clingy but MC clingy towards him too. Both were just healing each other.

The romance is just so-so, for me it is teen love story. Awkward but first love type of romance.

BTW I hate that when author dragging the misunderstanding between ML and FL. Lose 1.5 🌟 because of that^^ <<less

I loved majority of it, the FL is a Mary sue, but I felt that it didn't take away from the story. I wasn't a big fan of the ML, I found his character incredibly cliche.

the ML and FL get together, but the writer has no idea what a healthy relationship is, the characters are codependent, the male lead is possessive, ridiculously jealous and overbearing. The female character thinks it's cute, when in reality, it's incredibly unhealthy. Plus I find it hard to believe a 23 year old woman would be attracted to an 18 year olds emotional instability. It was incredibly difficult reading these chapters.

Secondly. The zhao family threw away their adopted daughter after 18 years of upbringing. She wasn't a perfect girl but nothing she did accounted for their harsh treatment. The excuse was she was adopted not real blood, hence it's okay. They treated her the exact same as FL which lead to FL leaving. As far as I'm concerned the zhao family are the real villains and zhao yuan should have received a redemption arc. Considering she was just an 18 year old manipulative spoilt girl who although caused grief to FL but didn't deserve to lose her entire family.

Up until chapter 68 was a slugfest, I found the author used a lot of fluffy filler just to reach chapter 70. Not even the good kind of filler.

When other people dance, they are dancing. But for him, he looked like he had stepped on an electric switch and was being electrocuted. He had a good pair of long legs, but he moved like a robot.

Mingxi didn't know whether to laugh or cry. "Fu Yangxi, are you still thinking about this???"

She simply mentioned that a man who can dance can get extra points!

The music was so loud that Fu Yangxi didn't hear Mingxi open the door at all. He didn't turn his head until he heard her roar.

Him: “...”

Fu Yangxi quickly turned off the music and ran into the room with a flushed face.

Scene 3:

Fu Yangxi muttered, “Do you not love me anymore?”

Mingxi said, "Stop thinking such nonsense! Put your shoes away, stop procrastinating. Also, we'll be going for half a month at most. Why are you bringing 30 pairs of shoes?"

Fu Yangxi replied, "You really don't love me anymore. I'm not even allowed to bring extra shoes."

Scene 4:

Letter of Guarantee: I, Fu Yangxi, firmly refuse to be a jealous husband! Stick to being generous! If I do it again, I'm a dog!!!

Entertaining rebirth in high school novel - luck is the big factor here. The big plot hole is that the author did not explain how the OG book heroine got all the luck in the first place!

Neu Heroine spends a lot of time studying and making real friends this time around. Much of this part of the story is about learning/competing for yourself, not others.

However, I didn’t like the ending when FL & ML are finally married and suddenly he’s all Mr Ferocious Lover. Having s@x so much it hurts... more>> is not loving someone! <<less

It was an interesting novel, I enjoyed to read it, and even cried a bit. The story is very dynamic and good. There was a similar novel, do not know the name anymore but this one is definitely better. 👌

Despite this claiming to be a remaking of one's life, the way the characters act brought me more frustration than satisfaction. Sure, I know they are not adults and just s*upid teenagers, but it was truly a hard read.

Initially, the early chapters were quite the treat to read. Until chap 35+, it became a struggle to go through the story.

This is a satisfying read except for the MC's treatment to the ML. Her character setup was someone who is perceiving (as she felt her family's indifferent treatment to her hence her fawning ingratiating behavior and she is sensitive to consequences of actions). However, I find it disappointing that she didn't think about the consequences of her actions causing others to misunderstand. Make no mistake, ot was not that she is just kind and the ML is delusional but SHE specifically go the distance for HIM. So what would others... more>> think about that, how about ML? I think it was irresponsible for a 23 year old woman. <<less

Ahhhh

My heart is so full, I love our doting ML Fu Yangxi and our strong FL Zhao Mingxi. Their love story was so beautiful, I almost cried when I read what birthday gifts our Yangyang gifted to Mingxi!!!

I wanted to give a 5, but part of me slightly wishes Mingxi had reconciled with her younger brother. TBH her whole family was horrible in her past life but they were definitely influenced by the plot and “halo of the heroine” that the “fake” Zhao Yuan had! I feel like Zhao Yuning... more>> truly repented and it would’ve been nice to hear about them in the extras.

Overall, it was a lovely story and I binged it in like 2-3 days. I loved Fu Yangxi’s protectiveness and doting character and Zhao Mingxi was equally protective of him. Truly a match made in heaven🩷 I also love their group of supportive friends!

Wishing Yangxi and Mingxi a blissful and happy married life! <<less

At first, I really really hated the way FL never forgave her family. They're kinda tr*sh but they weren't thaat bad you know? Especially her younger brother who looked out for her since the start. They were under the influence or the Halo. Then I felt the family deserved it for how they treated the OGFL. What the heck was that?

They so happily abandoned the child they raised for 18 years, one they claimed to love. Sure, she was really spoilt, BUT THAT IS YOUR OWN FAULT.

The second and the main reason. The OgFL is done so ugly by the author. I know I should get used to the Chinese priority or bloodline over nurture. But I hated how the author constantly made it as though Adopted Kids are inferior than your biological just because they aren't related to you by blood. Blood doesn't make families, Love and Bonding does. The OG plot of ogFL and OGML her brother was soo creepy too. OgFL isn't a saint but by C-novel standards she really didn't do anything too bad. At most she would cry or not say anything if her friends decided of their own accord to punish FL. I get her, she was scared FL would replace her as the real child, and now I can see why she feared that. The Zhao family was ready to do that. Her ending is too tragic. What the heck really, she didn't deserve such a sad end. She was only 18.
