Despite having found Mingxi, the Zhao family continued to favor the fake daughter, saying that Mingxi was not as kind nor as graceful as Zhao Yuan.

This is the first time I'm writing a review so I messed up the stars I rate lmao.

First off, I really like the personality of Zhao Mingxi (MC) unlike other fMC whom either choose revenge or simple lost interest in their lives and became indifferent, she on the other hand, choose to move forward and leave behind all the unpleasant expereibces she had. Her personality is endearing too, since she was not afraid to stand her ground and defend herself and the people she loves.

HE DESERVES THE WORLD! Best Boi and Best Male Lead to me. He's a soft and pure boi who will do everything in his power to comfort and shoulder the pain of his loved ones, even if it ended up scarring him in the process.

I really like the ending of this novel. Someone said that Mingxi should've forgiven her family since they sincerely regret and changed for the better, but what of it? Can their regrets make Mingxi forget her miserable death in the first life? In the end It was Mingxi's choice to not forgive them and it was mentioned repeatedly even from the start. <<less

Although the romance is silly and sweet, the story itself felt bittersweet, sad and depressing.

Besides the two leads, other supporting characters don't really have a chance to shine or grow, and the worst part is how the author treated the antagonists of the story, but I'm not sure how to talk about that without spoilers.

The way her family finally realized their mistakes was good and it felt like a fitting end, but I absolutely hate how the author completely vilified Zhao Yuan with an underlying meaning of "she's adopted so she's unworthy".

I would've loved the story more if the author kept her as the innocent but spoiled princess from the original book, who eventually finds her own happiness away from the Zhao family.

A cute romance.

There is one misunderstanding though, nothing too grand and once it's over, no more misunderstandings between the couple.

FL is oblivious but not dumb either, she is quite forward once they are in a relationship though and loves to tease him and make him shy which is quite refreshing to read.

ML is a tsundere, at the beginning especially, he is a very sharp mouthed one, but he is an absolute softie.

It's simply a gem ✨✨💎ML and MC are just so cute ❤❤❤❤

That moment she chose to rather not have a heroine's halo and chose to cure his injury and he risked so much just to retrieve her grandmother's jade as it was her last present they did so much for each other but never told and expressed outside 🌹🌹

And ML never fails to crack me up in almost every serious situation 😂

He is there for her when she was at her lowest, brought her friends, love and happiness

And she was there for him when facing his family's trouble she felt sad and distressed for him that she wasn't there at the time there wasn't a person to comfort him during his accident

But they weren't late for each other they cherish each other ❤

It would have been better if zhao family ended up a little better situation at least I feel a bit sad for yuning although they were late they still repented though MC doesn't care about it as she didn't have any hope for them

As a reader of fluff and fluff I felt sad many times during reading but also very happy during many plot events

Anyway if you are deciding to read it and you are into light read stories you can go for it✨✨✨ <<less

Similar premise to “Spending the Villian’s Money to Extend My Life.” It was a nice novel with a decent amount of both character conflict and fluff. I liked how the problems were balanced, and I also really liked that neither character was super OP. Despite these factors, I do think SVMEL is slightly better, but this story is still worth reading.

The relationship side was cute, albeit kind of juvenile and generic for a high school cnovel, but the switched at birth family drama was mind numbing. I skimmed everytime her awful family was mentioned.

I'm so over switched at birth garbage in cnovels.

This novel would have got a little bit higher rating from me had that part of the story been removed but not above a 4. As it is, it gets a 3.5 from me.

Usually I have a hard time finishing a novel and halfway through, I start skimming the chapters. Butttt this novel was really sweet and fluffy. It had me hooked til the end.

The plot wasn't too heavy. After being reincarnated, the MC decides to break off all ties with her family who she found 2 years ago and decided to focus on preventing herself from getting cancer by freeloading off of the MLs luck. Entertaining story about FL who is transmigrated into a story as the villainess; she is even accompanied by a system that rewards her for engaging in villainous acts. However, she somehow subverts the system and changes the plot and her fate. Fun twist on a tired trope. The romance is slow burn and ancillary to the main plot.

I enjoyed this story because of the sweet tsundere ML and the calm FL. Their relationship is just so fun to read.

I admit that I also enjoyed the faceslapping moments for the Zhao family. I did feel bad for Zhao Yuan though and hoped to see a story where both daughters get a better ending. The Zhao family is worthless and useless and I had hoped to see more sorrow and faceslapping.

But FL deserves a better ending and her life with ML is already super great. Along with her new... more>> friends. <<less

Very nice, satisfying faceslap of the family. FL has definitely her own personality and makes a clean cut but at the same time you can feel how affected she was by the past too, and isn’t magically better all of a sudden even after the bad luck halo lifts, plenty of descriptions of her hard work and convincing herself to not get distracted.

The romance is cute, but I felt by the end author was dragging along the story too much that would’ve fit in extras instead.

Is worthy reading.

The MC is very real. The ML is like others said, the best boi I have read, he is so imperfect, funny silly and good. The romance takes time but is real and very nice.

One part I really like is when MC says ML that she is sorry for his suffering, but he reply that everyone is like that. His is, his friend is, and she is like that too.

I laught most of time. The sad parts can be hard, but is OK.

It's a great read. One star is missing because of the romantic dynamic between FL and ML which takes so much part of the story is not to my liking. I'm more intrigued by the family conflicts than the romance. It's the family conflicts that made me emotionally invested and stay to the end. I'm going to be honest, I kinda pity the Zhou family. They seem genuinely regretting for what they have done, but at the same time I truly understand why MC becomes so cold to them and... more>> feel satisfied that she can free herself, live the life with the ones who really appreciate her. Anyway, it's really satisfying to see what author did to villains. They deserve that.

It was fun to read. I was excited to know what will happen next every time I read the chapter.

Love seeing the relationship between them. Light high school romance, cute and fluffy. Also with some drama and heartaches with the right combination. I love reading this!

This story had the most satisfying absolute best face slapping of any novel I’ve read. I lived for those chapters... I mean: *chef’s kiss*

I think the ML’s ptsd was handled a bit unrealistically, but it’s a webnovel.

The pacing was excellent- not laboring over every single event and the translation was also very good.

I highly recommend this. It’s definitely on my reread for the face-slapping....

Reading this was such a journey and I love every part of it!

To me, I consider this as one of the best romance novels I've read. It doesn't have an extremely unique plot, it has its cliche moments at some point, but the very romance aspect of it was made so good that I really enjoyed reading this. I've read a lot of romance novels but there are just a few that really stood out and I personally think this is one of those.

Again, the plot itself may not be... more>> the best but the romance and chemistry between our MC, Zhao Mingxi, and our ML, Fu Yangxi, is the cherry on top.

Many might say otherwise but I really loved this one. I love how tsundere ML was at their first meetings but when they got together he's so clingy and possessive but in the cute way. He doesn't want to hinder our MCs choices so despite being jealous he tries to stop being too controlling or whatnot.

Our MCs family is of course a different matter. I love this novel in general but that Zhao family can suffer for all I care xD. I admit there's a part of me that wants to see them reconcile just so that Mingxi can experience being pampered by her family, but the large part of me also doesn't want that because that would mean that she'd forgive them at some point. And I don't think they deserve that forgiveness.

Overall, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A GOOD ROMANCE NOVEL. It's another question if you'd like it, but I loved this so I don't mind what other readers may think of this. <<less

All in all, nothing is really going on, it's just that the author is good at making the readers empathize with the characters. I mean, there's not much substance but the (main) characters are so likable that (I) we root for them. Plot holes are everywhere~ You can even drive a car without bumping your head and being thrown around.

What happened to Fu Yangxi's mother and adopted brother who is also his cousin? (I don't exactly remember his name because he would pop out then disappear out of nowhere). What's with Jiangyu and He Yang (Fu Yangxi and Zhao Mingxi's friends) They had that ambiguous interaction when all five of them hangout that summer, they're riding motorcycles so Jiangyu put a helmet on He Yang. What happened after? Is there like a side story/ spin off about them? What happened to Zhao Yuan in... You know...? What about her mother in... yeah? I have more questions but it isn't as important as I have stated above.

Did you actually read the story? Before proceeding I have a warning, read Chapter 1-5 (?) then Chapter 21 again and again to get my points, enjoy! Why was it that Zhao Yuan's a victim? She knew that the Zhao Family didn't set her aside after meeting their daughter, Mingxi, who wasn't with them for FIFTEEN FCKING YEARS. She knew yet she didn't say anything and instead continued to manipulate them to have their eyes only to her. Why manipulate? Who tf would lie in the living couch pitifully if they weren't deliberately wanted to get attention and coaxed? How is it Mingxi's fault? She is entitled to be envious because... she literally didn't know about her parents for, idk, FIFTEEN FCKING YEARS. She's only fifteen, what do you expect to a fifteen year old? It's already a good thing that she didn't try to hurt Zhao Yuan and instead tried to please her family. What's worse? Her family only felt her presence when she didn't offer her services. She's a masseuse, cook, disciplinarian and a naive, country bumpkin in their eyes, not a daughter. To the people saying that it's "offensive" or hurtful to other adopted people. They literally gave all their love to the person they thought was their "real daughter". Then, they gave more love to their "daughter" so that she wouldn't feel abandoned while their daughter that they didn't meet for fifteen years was being hopeful to have a harmonious family and craving for their attention. After that, their "daughter" knew that she was being favoured over the other daughter and out of all things, she manipulated them into giving more of their attention to her. What's so hard to understand?

Another take, why isn't anyone saying about Fu Yangxi's situation? His backstory is darker than the middle of a long tunnel. This novel is actually a cry for help. Their relationship (Mingxi and Yangxi's) started with a misunderstanding, it's so frustrating that I'm tempted to beat them up but Ke Chengwen isn't any better

Absolutely adorable. This was such a cute romance, it didn't feel rushed, forces or anything. It had a nice development and Fu Yangxi is best boy nobody will ever change my mind.

The translations are fluid and comprehensible it never affected the pace of the novel.

10/10 would recommend to read to alleviate the heaviness of the heart.
