I always hate the way this turns out for the fake daughter when she's the 'protagonist' character. The family is beyond awful and immediately blames the child instead of accepting responsibility for their own bad choices. Sure, Yuan isn't a good person, but if they had treated the two girls equally when MC came home, both girls would have been reassured, and it's quite possible she wouldn't have grown as deceitful as she did. I can see having to make peace with Yuan being the culprit's daughter, but she IS right, she IS innocent. The family is tr*sh and they started treating Yuan poorly as soon as they wanted to treat MC well. Obviously, they can only be affectionate to one girl at a time.

Upon being abandoned by the family, Zhao Yuan decided to be trainee, aspiring to be an idol. She tried. She tried to get on with her life, but she was pampered most of her life, and suddenly she was abandoned unceremoniously. Zhao Yuan isn't a good person. She's a white lotus, selfish b*tch, but she didn't deserve the things that happened to her. And she was raised that way, so I can't really blame her that much.

Mingxi's parents lack accountability. Ultimately, perhaps it's in their destiny to destroy their child's life. The first life, it was Mingxi's. The second life, it was Zhao Yuan's.

And reading Extra Chapter 3 didn't alleviate my hatred for the parents. I wish they suffered more. And it's important to note that in her previous life, Mingxi didn't hate Zhao Yuan. She was jealous and insecure, but she didn't hate Zhao Yuan. I firmly believe the author punished the wrong villain in this story. And that's why I couldn't give this story a straight 5 stars.

She will be rearing cats with another person.

so mingxi did not forgave her family, she did not give them a second chance, she just decided not to include them in her second life. Which is normal in other rebirth stories where their family is abusive and all the typical novel drama shit. In those context permanently separating from those kind of people is the right choice, they deserve all the punishment that they can get

but here in this story, the author wrote how her family realised (arguably late) their mistake and they tried to change and make up for it. Zhao zuning (forgot the youngest brother`s name) was so sweet trying to reachout to her even in the earliest chapters. And mind you her family members are not the wicked type of people, just that they were also affected by the heroine halo of zuyan (forgot her name too)

and mingxi did not gave them a second chance??? I actually skipped chapters when I realized that she will definitely separate from them.

the author included each of the family members' character development, you start to like them and feel a connection with them beacuse of the chapters from their perspective, for what?? For nothing aparrently. In the last chapter, her biological mother watched her graduation from afar, knowing that that would be her last chance to see her daughter. Thats so sad.

the story would have been better if the she and her family ended up together again, not because protagonists should be forgiving, but because the author showed that her family wanted to change and adjust because of her.
