3 years ago, I woke up as a game character–as a side character, at that.『Heroic Legends of Arhan』. The Protagonist was also a Reincarnator like me, so we decided to stick together and see the story through properly. But something was wrong… He said he didn’t know anything about the game, but this…

“It’s fine, isn’t it? This world is just a game after all.”

『The Player has been killed. You have failed the attempt.』

… This f*cker lost?

I returned to the past; to 3 years ago.

Now’s my chance. I must kill the player.

One of the top Yandere novels currently available

Pros:

  • The prologue utilises slapstick comedy, and unexpected events to drag the reader in. Although it may seem odd and rather out of place, it sets the tone for future chapters, both in its comedic storytelling and the events to come
  • Characters feel realistic and the climax they face builds upon their character
  • Each character is brought to the forefront thus making each "love candidate" resonate with the reader, giving a fair reason for the female leads to fall in love with the protag
  • Translations are clear
  • Arcs do not drag, rather they complete as if a present wrapped with gaudy ribbons
  • Female leads are adorable
Cons:

  • At points, especially those that do not concern the female leads, but rather develop the story, does get rather... boring at times, however, the grind to see the leads jealous is enjoyable
  • The main villain fails in appearing as a significant threat, which undermines the stories progression

It's a unique story as far as the game based genre.

MC is a likeable guy and all other characters are also somewhat likeable.

Story plot is a bit different compared to demons vs hero trope.

... more>> The power system is a bit vague but kind a based on the hardwork and talent.

MC is a funny enough to not being a drag.

And it is a mixture of regression and possesion based story, as MC is possessed a game character but then regressed after the first iteration failure.

And don't worry this not BL or focused on harem so It is quite good.

MC is quite relatable and rational guy.

Scenarios are a bit different then other game based novels

Overall it's a good story as of 41 chapters so you can give it a try atleast.

i really like this story its a consistent and well rounded novel if you came looking for a complex story then this is not it. First of all something really nice is that korin actually acts like a adult and deal with things maturely instead of beating someone up the moment someone looks at him wrong. The characters also feels flesh out with each playing a purpose in the story whether minor or large also the FL don't immediately fall for him but develop their feelings over time.

It's a pretty fun story with a solid cast. The protagonist is refreshing in that he's a good person who does good things for their own sake. Genuine heroism is far too rare in this genre and he manages it while neither being a pushover nor outright boring.

I also like the Celtic mythology theming. Like the protagonist's teacher is based on Scathach and the references to Nuada, Lugh and Balor are cool on top of the four treasures of Ireland.

The protagonist is kinda romantically dense though. Don't listen to anyone... more>> who claims otherwise. <<less

This series was very fun to read because not only the protagonist's personality was vibrant, the heroines personalities were also just as vibrant. Each character started off being pieced together with a character trope checklist, but as things were slowly fleshed out as the story developed, their histories slowly revealed, and how the influence of the protagonist affected and changed them, they became these dynamic personalities that are much harder to describe yet easy to understand and sympathize with. All in all, wonderful characters and intricate relationships and interactions with... more>> each other. The enjoyment was also due to the comedy, making the series more for laughs and enjoying the sight of the good ol' overpowered protagonist simply beating the hell out of the villains to overcome different obstacles. It's not always grim and dark, there is a nice balance.

What I don't like about the series is how, for the romance aspect of the story,
Spoiler

the protagonist withholds his decision not even until the end of the main story, but dragged on over to the extra chapters. I really dislike this kind of thing, a protagonist just dragging romantic decisions just because he can't make a decision. This is after he has received multiple confessions already, and he has already kissed different heroines already. That is why I would've at least expected him to make a decision at the end of the main story if not during the main story. That would've been fine. But nope, the protagonist just had to continue dragging his decision, continuing to cut the time where we could've instead enjoyed more scenes of meaningful romance if he did make his decision early. I very much love romance and harem is good too, but his indecisiveness just really puts me off from giving it a higher rating than it should've had. And worst of all, it was written in a way that the protagonist wasn't making a life-changing decision, he was making a life-or-death decision for a harem. The author really forced their hand rather than building a mutually sincere romantic relationship between the protagonist and the heroines. The follow-up is a saving grace: when the protagonist made his decision, he really went through with it to the end to lead all the heroines he held responsibility for to their happy endings.

Excellent and thrilling novel. The story starts with a bang and keeps up a fast pace, revealing new twists and turns in every chapter. The mix of action and introspection is well-balanced and the characters are well-developed and interesting with many in the novel being well-crafted and multi-dimensional. Though the harem aspect can be a bit over done at times. I love how the main character, despite initially seeming like a typical goody two-shoes, doesn't come across as annoying like other similar protagonists. The MC shows significant growth, especially given... more>> that he starts off with just his basic player system, runes, and well-practiced spear skills from his first run. The setting of the academy is vividly described, and the action scenes are exciting. The dialogue feels real and helps move the story along. A great read for anyone who loves fantasy and deep, character-driven stories. The fast-paced plot, interesting characters, and thought-provoking themes make it a must-read. Their relationships are complex and evolve naturally, adding to the novel's emotional impact. All in all while this novel is a harem novel, so if you dislike that genre, it might not be for you. However, if you're okay with or enjoy harem stories, you'll probably like this one.

I’ve actually really come to enjoy and be really invested in this novel; I’ve been insanely hooked. Now this says quite a lot about how good the story and writing is, considering I mostly read and enjoy edgy stories and anti hero mani characters (and yes I consider myself really edgy because of that), and this story is quite the opposite of that, considering the main character has a superman-like mindset of saving eve that he can, even at the cost of himself. The writing are one of my favourites... more>> in my opinion. Each chapter makes me so hooked and craving for the next one; it literally took for my finals to happen that I could finally take a break reading and let the chaper stack up. The pacing is really nice and helps the overall enjoyment that I even look forward to happenings between the main events. The backstories are also really well timed with them being explored enough that you get a good grasp of the characters/event but not too long that you forget about whats currently happening in the story and lose excitement. Now, a fair warning though, this is a harem genre and the romance is really explored in the story compared to other action/fantasy harem. In my opinion, this is one of this novel’s strength and something to look forward to when reading. This is mostly because the main characters are fleshed out and really unique in their own way, even the side characters have quite the depth to their personalities, and unlike other stories, the character development can really be seen, it happens quite seamlessly, and most importantly, it stays; the characters don’t just revert after an event or arc. Now onto the writing, the details the go into the scenes and fights makes you feel like you can see it; this really helped keep my intrigue and curiosity as how things will ensue. Overall, this is one of my novels not just in terms of story, but also character development and writing. <<less
