I just reread the novel. It's not something memorable, as I didn't feel familiar even when rereading. Occasionally I can guess the upcoming plot because the story is really a simple cliche romance..

Both the leads have some extreme thinking and sensitive thoughts, but as the story unfolds, we can see the leads' growth and maturity (especially in how they handle their relationship).

Revenge, which was 'the main plot of the original novel' in the story, was swiped aside, as romance takes the centre stage~

As some reviews pointed out, after the revenge plot, the story can be said to have reached the end, but it really didn't, because romance is really the focal point of the story.

This is where we see how their love grow, and how they themselves changed so they can have a better future together.

True friendship sometimes pop up, giving colours to their life. And even though the FL doesn't forgive (because she didn't have the right to), she treats her family cordially.

Both leads are lonely people, and they find solace in each other. So it's undestandable why they are so passionate and a little bit crazy being in love~

So yes, I really like reading about their romance. They were so in love that even until the end of the story it's tear-jerking and heart-wrenching. Not because they get a BE, but it's because their HE is too mind-blowing~

All in all, it's a recommended reading for those who seek a short simple cliche romance~ 🌈🍬 <<less

I'd say that this is more like a slice of life novel. It's a 'accompanying the characters in their pursuit of love and happiness' kind of thing, centred around the relationship between MC and ML.

If you don't include the emotional turbulence near the end. Came out of nowhere, but it makes sense if you think about it and how there wasn't much care shown towards her & the OG Chi Zhengzheng. MC slips back into a vegetative state.

There isn't really any scheming and planning, if there was it all happened off screen. ML already had everything up and running when MC and readers meet him for the first time. So if you want something like psychological warfare, turn around cause you won't find any here.

My non spoiler short summary: This book is a dessert store. After I ate a couple slices of dessert, a little bit of my cake dropped. Then an expressionless handsome man walked in to buy something for someone and sprinkled his money whilst I cried with the store owner as we watch him get into his Rolls Royce parked outside and I wish he gave me money and take me under his wings because I'm broke and not op.

MC:

Standard simple, empathetic, beautiful female protagonist. I think the most described thing about her would be her outstanding appearance. Thank god the author didn't add and repeat any 'well endowed curvaceous perfect figure' cliché description.

OG Chi Zhengzheng's appearance is described to be like MC's past face but amplified 10 times in beauty. So there's not much to the 'adapting to a new identity' idea.

  • Career wise-
This is a non career centred novel. MC doesn't enter the entertainment industry, business district, she doesn't have a op ability nor does she 'prove her abilities and face slap everyone'. She's not overly ambitious, but she's not a lazy worm either. Average gal ig.

  • Character-

    I'll admit, there were times where I was like: "What the hell? What's wrong with her? Why'd she do that?". I felt frustrated sometimes but that's just something that I can include in her personality as a character or link to the story's progression. I saw a lot of reviews and comments mentioning this but I don't think it should be something that is condemable. In fact, it's more realistic this way and adds more to her. She doesn't have the omnipotent pov us readers have and can be irrational sometimes. I'm not the type to hold a character's 'flaws' against a book. Just because they possess a less-likeable/less-than-ideal trait, it doesn't make them bad characters. And it doesn't make the novel utter tr*sh (most of the time). It just impacts the reader's mood and test their temper levels lol.
Frustration. Yes, I have felt this sometimes like other readers but it can be easily overlooked and it never drags on long. It's quite minor imo. One less dish in a feast doesn't mean that there's nothing to eat. One bad thing doesn't make it all bad. I giggled a couple of times because she's cute (I love the crocodile bit OwO), and not at all infuriating for me. I'd say my reaction towards her is somewhat like watching a young junior making questionable decisions and wanting to reprimand her and point her towards the right direction.

  • Interpersonal Relationships-

    She is cute, coquettish & lovable with the ML; laid-back/chill, composed & tsundere with friend (yes, singular not plural) ; somewhat detached with OG's family; and doesn't seek out the 'main antagonists' of the novel to purposefully destroy and stays out of trouble from them.

But it feels like I'm reading different characters sometimes. Yes, everyone behaves differently in front of others (like me for ex: polite, shy & quiet with strangers; playful & talkative with loved ones). The problem is that there's nothing unifying her in between all this. It impacts my imagination and immersion of her. Therefore as a character, she doesn't feel whole to me.

We don't learn much about the MC compared to the ML imo. Readers learn about both of their pasts and some details about it. But ML feels more fleshed out, and we learn his likes and dislikes. He feels more real and less like a character in that way compared to MC.

ML:

Standard expressionless OP CEO ML (he fits the 'CP-free Male lead novel' description of him) but that's not all of him. A melting iceberg. Tall, handsome, rich, smart, nice, thoughtful, good at nearly everything. He's respectful and there's no non-consensual stuff. Sometimes struggles with expressing himself but is still loving towards MC. He's not only an iceberg, remember, he's melting- but only for one person. Legit, my standards for a husband has been raised because of him. He's quite adorable. I really want myself a Wen Yu, where can I find one? TTwTT

  • Character-
Initially he was like those cold CEO ML's, and we see more development to him the deeper his relationship with MC gets.

He also has a bit of a yandere tendency (but I'm into that so I have no complaints). Like a part-time yandere? It makes sense to see it as a result of his childhood experience. He's not excessive, mainly possessive/paranoid/controlling but he gives in to the MC.

The emotions you get from this novel is mainly caused by the ML, his thoughts and words.

Other characters:

There is development with some of them. They're not 2 dimensional and I think they all deserved their outcomes.

It's standard writing, not complicated, not too flowery. I think the pacing is alright. If it dragged on I'd definitely get bored. There isn't much chase to it, but it's still enjoyable to read about the MC & ML being loving together. Translator is good, had some typos that made me want to jump in and fix, but I'm grateful for what they've done. Good job :)

HE. Don't read this with high expectations of a 'world changing novel' or expecting to be wow-ed. If you want something simple, sweet and romance centred; or just want something to lift your mood, give this a try. I enjoyed it, it's a novel that made me smile.

I rate it 4.3

Look at the logic of this story this girl woke's up from veggie life and the moment she can move she can talk with a clear voice! And the day after she wakes she walks!!! Brooo did u really have an accident and been in veggie state for a while! It sounds like she was gone to hospital for a cold. Anyway I can't keep up this sh.i.t this is a torture for my brain

I’ve had mixed feeling about this novel. Like a lot of novels it had its positive and negative points.

honestly, I needed a gentle novel as I lost my grandmother this week and this novel gave me that. It was short, well paced, the plot held enough twists and turns to keep my mind in the story but not overwhelmingly so. I needed an escape and it gave me that.

I did have issues with the FL’s personality, though this is more because of my own personal preferences, for me I found... more>> her too timid when it came to the ML, sometimes too childish in her emotional responses and the fact that outside the ML she really didn’t make any personal connections and the one she did just faded into inconsequence and in relation the the family of the original Chi Zhengzheng, it seemed lacklustre, pointless and frustrating I didn’t understand why they kept the Chi family in for the majority of the book as it neither pushed the plot forward after the initial choice of FL to go out on her own, we had no clear resolution with only slight reference at times to familial duty which didn’t amount to anything plot wise, it felt as if it was more of a filler than anything.

which leads to the extra chapter. My gosh they dragged, especially the wedding ones. The pacing of these made them hard to read.

But overall if your looking for an escape, that is short and feel good then this is definitely worth a read. <<less

Really enjoyable.

It starts off very funny. I was rolling with laughter multiple times. And then this novel slightly mellows out into a sweet romance with a revenge component.

It is satisisfying in the way that most of these novels are; we get to see those who treated the FL and ML badly regret their actions and suffer.

But we get to watch the CP fall in love slowly. The ML is very caring and gentle toward FL but fierce and ruthless regarding everyone else, which is how we initially see him. The... more>> FL is not a little Mary sue either. She is headstrong and mature. They form a very sweet and funny couple. The FL is the only person on earth who could get away with yelling at the ML. He is rather subservient towards her hahaha.

FL has one friend and it's actually very fond. Enemies to friends. The way they became close is hilarious and how we last see them in the novel actually had me wiping my tears away. It's something I think I will really remember about this novel although it's not the biggest plot point or anything. Wish the author could have made a bigger room for friendship in this novel but that's okay!

Truly such a sweet story! FL and ML care for each other very deeply and it's very precious. A satisfying happy ending! <<less

Follows the generic route of overbearing iceberg CEO and a novel-transmigrated protagonist with a personal touch.

It feels like I should've gotten a bit more laughs out of it, for it is a comedy fantasy romance novel and all, but it was mainly melodramatic. But the author paid enough attention to details to remedy most faults.

To be fair, it was one of the far better ones with both initiating with mutual consent, no one sided no coercion, no forcing your wealth on others, or taking advantage of a big thigh/protagonist halo. MC has self respect and wouldn't let him pay for her, neither would ML force it on her and uses more roundabout ways to treat her to something until they got together.

The love between the protagonists can be so extremely perfect that it takes the wind out of its own sails at times, and doesn't feel balanced compared to how level-headed the characters + rest of the story were. THOUGH

ML has huge abandonment issues, instead of helping him in some way, professionally or personally, MC decides to indulge him which is a mere temporary fix to his problem. That's unexpected considering she was the one who was the 1st out of dozens of iceberg CEO novels to bring up the importance of personal time and space.

The face slapping was satisfying, not too extreme, and not too loose-handed, even if the villains were.... flat. Generic bad people being bad.

I was vexed over MC's family for a long time but the author's spot-on description of denying them forgiveness and them seeping in their guilt was very satisfying in its own ways. They got away easy with indirectly mu*dering their own daughter/sister and year long of neglecting and abusing her. The son/younger brother was underage, most redeemable out of the 3 in her family, so if the punishment was too severe, it would've impacted him the most. Understandably, but undeniably vexing nonetheless. The mother took the longest to come to her senses and was still shameless enough to pine for the good days and wanted to rid of her guilt by making her, the MC, help them, but ironically she was too timid do so and the rest of the family had something called self awareness thus not following through with her idea.

The translation was amazing and honestly, this can count as one of the few iceberg CEO novels I like. Romance is more shoujo than josei orientated. <<less

  1. Some parts were pretty funny and cute but I feel like the book overall was kind of annoying. why:

    1. FL is really childish and pretty s*upid for a grown up -> she doesn't talk about issues with ML. And when she does stuff like run away, she clearly doesn't really think about what she's going to do. She's just rescued. Like she was at least a working adult who lived by herself. She doesn't understand concepts like checking how much money she has and making sure she has a mobile phone? If ML wasn't around then what? Just go back home?

    like when she ran away from ML, she wanted to find out whether he just treats her well because of herself or because of her identity as his fianc

    . But when he looks for her, she doesn't mention it and just follows him home. The issue just lingers until he asks her to marry him or smth and then she flares up and tells him.

    2. FL's character seems kind of contradictory -> she says stuff like she wants to pay for herself or she wants space, but she doesn't really seem to follow through. Like there's no problem at all with relying on ML but she says she doesn't want to and she is for the most part. And also, she doesn't actually have a life outside of ML and like one other friend. If she cares about her personal space or her independence, then why doesn't she go out and try to make friends or something? Again there's nothing wrong about wanting to stay at home or wanting to be with ML all the time but just don't make it seem otherwise. And then later on saying her mindset changed after some incident but in the end she did get a job. It's just kind of like huh? I thought she didn't care anymore. Make up your mind author. Oh and the whole 'I want to get ML because I'm in love with him' but she didn't even do anything!!

    3. ML's controlling behavior -> like yeah it's nice to take care of your partner but stuff like not allowing a grown woman to eat snacks or spicy food occasionally when she doesn't have some kind of bad health condition just seems kind of over the top.

    4. I think generally it started off pretty cute and lighthearted as well but it suddenly became kind of dramatic and over the top towards the end. Like chill please. Why all the random fantasy elements coming out of nowhere?

    like the whole dropping back into a coma, dying and waking up again. And then actually FL gave up on her future lives to wake up from her coma in this life but the OG person gives up her life instead so FL can continue to be with ML. Why was this even necessary? Can't they just get married and live happily ever after? And that rubbish about how the OG person said FL fulfilled her wish? What did FL do to fulfill her wish?? It wasn't even mentioned till that point.

This story has a storyline like another typical Chinese romance novels in general (Innocent MC and Cold ML), so I think you should already know what will happend when u read this story.

Personally I don't really like MC character... Like, we know that you only occupy that body which mean that you don't have the right to forgive the MC real family for what they do.

But the MC family has really come to their senses now and they sincerely apologized... also it seems they were previously unconscious and became unkind... more>> to MC because of the compulsion of the book's storyline, its just like other people (Its actually has same situation like when the MC suddenly fell into a coma even though he was fine, this is because the plot of the book's story must remain consistent in general, although the direction of the story itself has changed) <<less

When FL makes diegetic sounds, it is fun; what FL thinks and does up to the point where the author hands her a punchline out of pity is unbelievably poor. Part of it is cheap characterisation, but the rest of it is due to slapdash writing. FL likes to say she's a normal person, but her internal life is distinctly below average. ML is a cardboard cutout. 2 stars.

Nothing special. It's representative of its genre -- built a little contrived and doused in miscommunication. To a certain degree, you can forgive her for her naivete but suspension of disbelief can get you only so far (And, believe me, you will need to suspend your disbelief and your rational mind to get through it.)

Recommendation: Best read when your brain needs the lowest level of stimuli and the lowest level of output. Save your brainpower for something more substantial.

I'm a bit obsessed with the new-found-not-quite-but-really-a-budding-friendship between Chi Zhengzheng and Wen Sisi. I had just read a bit of Scream Queen but I started lurking through the recommendation section to look for similar dynamics. I found this. Sigh. Marvellous.

Not gonna lie, it made me raise my eyebrow after seeing Wen Yu appear every time Chi Zhengzheng faces Wen Yinran. It should be sweet and appear as protective but like- if you're just waiting for her outside, why don't you just go with her since you don't care about... more>> what the public says anyway? Damsel-in-distress-being-saved-by-her-male-lead? Every scene??? I don't know about the others but I lost my interest, I would probably continue sometime in the future if I remember but not now. Don't get me wrong, it has it's good sides. Just don't ask me because I'm a bit biased right now. <<less

Unlike the other readers, this one didn't register to me as "cute, fluffy and realistic". It's the hard opposite.

I couldn't stop cringing while reading. None of the characters has common sense here. Their brain must be made of liquid pettiness. Just wow. I can't even call this cheap drama.
Comedy tag itself made me laugh. Something must me wrong with me because I can't see where is the comedy in this story. If being obnoxious counts as comedy, then yes, comedy is in it. Dropped.

why does FL insist on doing the job. She knows she has but translation skill why didn’t she just go learn a new hobby or learn some new thing. I can kinda understand this before them loving each other but then doing the same thing after doesn’t makes sense. She sounds childish instead of independent.

I love it that she is a normal transmigrated person not an OP one. Also I love it that she asked Wen Yu if she's confused or uncomfortable. Even though there was a misunderstanding, I. Love it that Wen Yu can come to Chi Zhengzheng faster. Not like other novel that stretched out unnecessarily.

I'm glad she stays away from the original body family. This is what gave me a dislike to other transmigrated nove, the MC always tried to be close to the family that bullied or hating on original body. But in this one that didn't happened. She also can't be close or forgive them totally cause she's not the real Chi Zhengzheng.

i actually had many complaints while reading but after the happy ending I ve forgave for all but the only person I whole heartily like 100/100 is Wen Sisi. Wen yu is bit too controlling and doesn't know how to express feeling but u can excuse before this was a former CP-less novel so the author created the person without these feeling which the Chi Zheng helped him later cultivate. The MC was ok, I dont love her much, she is always ready to run away in the beginning like... more>> something happens then she goes, nd when the mc's bro came she left which kinda annoyed me. Absolutely lovee the friendship between her sisi so muchhh, have to say in a novel like this I never expected the accident at ending at all like normally its pregnancy but it wasn't. I honestly felt really sad because how bad the ML was handling it and was kinda on the verge of losing himself. But thankfully she comes back because she traded her next lifes to live with him nd be back to the present. I actually prefer in transmigration novels if the ML nd MC doesnt say that they are not from this but another world but I don't think she told him that she transmigrated into a novel after she died in her world nd he was the novel hero. I think she said that she is frm another world and came to his world which I think is fine. The last story made me really sad for the ML after that the annoying FL seemed lyk a shiny star to me. Lol I actually didnt love her in the beginning. The second last extra was also nice how they loved eachother and stayed together lovingly till the end and died together, would ve appreciated it more if the author didnt make it like in the next life she would be there and he would be alone.

Overall a cute story which I prolly would never read again - 6/10 <3 <<less

Not bad, but the FL frustates me. She's... Kinda annoying. She's your average joe and doesn't have any talent or a job whatsoever. So she really is leeching off the ML haha 💀. The ML is good, hah... I really hope he get more talented partner. At least someone that's not really useless. This FL is a no no.

The story line is good. But from what I had read until chapter 25, there is one thing I'm not satisfied with. Why FL run away from ML manor after his brother come and said about ML and his agenda. I mean FL state that the reason is she want to chase after ML. What the hell! Then complain why ML did not contact her and all and did not think how ML could misunderstood her without communication especially after her brother come. Its not like ML can know what... more>> she is thinking about. I just cant accept why she never said something to ML and go away. After ML come to her, there is no expanation whatsoever on why she run away suddenly and the story go on "oh she's so cute", "oh he look so handsome" bla2. I just don't understand why the author add this scene as there is no motive at all run away from home like that.

Read until chapter 55, I am spechless on how FL think they did not confirm yet their relationship and think it will be nice if ML like her when she stay at ML house, had hug, kiss and many other thing. Hello, is she s*upid, why ML kiss hug her if he did not like it. Plus just ask, dont just "huh", "ohh" blanking when communicate with ml. Is it so difficult to ask if she is not sure. Always hang up on how he is good to her because of fiancee tittle and depressed hoping ML confess to her with word. Then get angry at ML for not saying he like her as if she had said it herself, obviously she never confess too. <<less

It was really so sweet and fluffy and there were no big misunderstanding between the main characters which I really like. It's a quick read since it has only around 78 Ch.

The ending was so bittersweet. It's clearly a happy ending but it still made me shed a lot of tears. Both of them living until old age and even during their dying moment, they still showed how much they meant and love each other.

Sooo sweet and fluffy.. I loved it. Both the FL and ML are great. There is a lot of interaction between the ML and FL.

Its a happy ending of course. They get married and have two children. A son and a daughter.
