Gu Jin, your average day-to-day worker, crossed into a novel as the supporting character and best friend and cousin of the female protagonist, Cheng Xin, who was frequently surrounded by men of status and quality. The two cousins believed they’d enjoy this friendship for a lifetime.

But soon, Gu Jin discovered that the body she had crossed into had memories of future events beyond the novel’s plot, including finding out that her marriage would end in utter failure. Her husband, the second male lead named Shao Chong, would neglect their marriage because of his infatuation for Cheng Xin. On the day that Gu Jin was kidnapped and beaten to death, her good husband stayed by her cousin’s side and accompanied her to the hospital.

When Gu Jin transmigrated into this novel world and learned of the truth, she refused to waste this new life as a supporting role for her cousin the way the previous soul had done. She refused to live her life as a spectator in someone else’s love story. No. She would be the protagonist of her own romance in this new life.

I really loved this novel where the FL is independent and rational, ML is also nice. Although her cousin changed in the end, btw still annoying af.

The story started out strong. Cheng Xin and Gu Jin were maternal cousin. Gu Jin had been Cheng Xin sidekick for as long as she could remember. But, when her own husband chose to be by Cheng Xin side instead of her, she wish for a second chance. A soul with the same name transmigrated into Gu Jin's body. Having known Gu Jin's life, she decided to help the previous owner to break free from her misery. The second half of the story wasn't as interesting anymore. After Gu Jin finally defeated the obstacles in the previous life, what lay ahead was only her interaction with the male lead, which I found boring. To justify the real Gu Jin, the writer dedicated a chapter to her. If you're into quantum physics or at least watched Back to the Future, then the rebirth and transmigration plot in this story didn't make any sense. The other point that irked me.

This is my first time giving a review despite reading novels for years. I just feel like this novel doesn't deserve low stars. I can't understand why some people leaves bad reviews. I think they barely read it or they only read 30+ chapters. I'm giving it 4 star and I will leave the 1 ofc because its not perfect and there were some plot holes which is very understandable. I really love the ML and MC of this novel. I don't know why some ppl hates the ML when... more>> he's literally a whole green forest. Ofc he's not a saint and what he did with the MC at their first encounter when he m*l*sted her was a big red flag tho' It's not mainly his fault since he was dr*gged (if I'm not mistaken) but the rest of the story (40+chapters) he respects MC's decision most of the time. He never forced her and their first s** scene if I remember it right MC was the one who initiated it. ML loves spoiling MC too. There was also a situation where MC was tired and told ML that she can't accompany him and ML left right away so that the MC can rest. I love the MC too because she's very clever and she wasn't very easily swayed. They're well-matched couple to begin with. All in all this novel was a great read and I think it's worth giving a shot. <<less

Well, don't hope for a deep meaning behind the lines. It's a light reading.

I liked the decisive attitude of our FL. While the infatuation of our ML came truly unexpected, but was endearing.

Once both parties introduced their in-laws, it actually made the relationship turn serious.

Nice touch of not dwelling too much on attempting to block the romance between our ML and FL.

PS: I appreciated no r*pe scene!

Very simple, straightforward story.

The FL is very pragmatic, the ML is the usual overbearing, domineering true OP CEO. The rest of the characters are simple, direct to their roles. There is not much drama, romance nor face-slapping.

Average story, excellent translations.

I liked everything about this book except the ML. His thought process in the beginning is so weird like which adult man misunderstands a woman, touches her inappropriately and when she fights back and escapes he decides to investigate her and take revenge

Revenge? On a young student for protecting herself? Then he forces her to date him so she can get her mother's bracelet back. Like Wtf after I read that part I was hoping he wouldn't be ML but alas

The romance between MC and ML was so strange I... more>> just skipped any parts of it that had to do with ML. Another annoying fact is that they had their first time while MC was drunk and inebriated.

Anyway,

I liked the resolution of all the side characters especially the original Gu xin x tong guy as well as the og female lead CX. I'm happy she became somewhat strong and took over the company <<less

It’s a story I enjoy rereading. It’s quite simple but I like how the story is not left unfinished for other characters including the og FL. The romance ? It starts under a wrong premise. I can’t say it’s sweet because both leads have no feeling for each other when they started it. The story is development is pretty linear. I like the FL character and how she handles herself. The ML is typical. I agree I would have liked a longer extra about Tong Lin and his romance.

Leaving a review after realizing I never left this review nor rated it.

Despite having read this a long time ago, I still have some memories of what happened in this story. I really love it and was personally happy that in another time line the 2ML that truly love the host of MC's body finally fulfilled his wish.

Greatly recommend it.

This story is overall ok.

It has the potential to be a great story but the author presented this in a way that I can't enjoy, or maybe I had high expectations after reading the description.

Anyway am I the only one that thinks that the character 'Tong lin' is more fascinating than any of the ml's.

He has a crush on original owner 'Gu jin', and her character description also tells that she is gentle shy type.

If anyone or same author writes story shipping these two characters that will be great. <<less

It's an okay book that I've read at least twice now, I keep forgetting I've read it 😅 It's actually a really quick read, the chapters are really short.

The problem is that the book isn't fleshed out enough. Not sure what happened with the author but they began the story strongly, but it slowly becomes random and less detailed which leads to an abrupt unfulfilling end. There were more than a few loose ends.

On a side note I would totally read a crematorium novel where the husband rebirths and fins... more>> out they are just characters in a novel, who the proceeds to work original GJ. Or I would have rather the husband not have rebirthed in this novel, wasn't a fan of it and he just disappears after a while.

The ratings here are unjustified. This is at least a 4+ story.

Reasons I can think of why it was rated low is either because wordexcept starts charging at a certain point or it's the ML's early stages being the major factor.

Give him the time of the day, the novel isn't too long, the read, despite early content, is enjoyable and you'll see with time how the ML truly is.

I'm giving this a 5 (instead of 4) to even out the ratings here. The story became rushed halfway through and I'd have liked to see more proper interactions between the leads and more conversations from them, there were some secrets that were kept (rebirth- the whole deal with ogGu Lin's ex), ML didn't ask, MC didn't explain- vise versa (ML's military service and the family drama she had to find out by accidentally eavesdropping with her in-laws) ; these bits really bother me. <<less

The story is short, simple, and has no prolonged drama which is very good. Both MC and ML are straight forward too so yeah there's no misunderstanding drama. I'm very satisfied with all of the characters' endings. Even the original soul has her own happy ending in her third re-birth.

I would give this 5+++ stars. Probably will re-read this story in the future <3

Enjoyable and relatively quick read. Some parts need editing as doesn’t seem to flow or make sense. Double reincarnation/ transmigration and fast paced plot line. FL who was under the shadow of her cousin for a long time, finds her own path outside of the novel parameters, whilst her scummy ex who was also re-incarnated but unable to gain her back.

I really enjoyed the novel. Everything was put in a good way, like the characters were not that unrealistic. However I would have liked more to be said about the time going back or her going into the world.

My favorite part was the extra chapters, especially the previous life one.

Like how he eventually started liking her (MC) and was actually only worried about her (FL). The fact that she (MC) was killed really was not his fault (like yes he never listened to the call however can he really be blamed for that. It was just a unlucky situation that ended with her getting killed), but the damage was already done. With her hating him in the new life and him losing the person he loved in both.

Would have liked to find out why she was killed or more of what happened after, I think it might have been for no reason just them wanting money. But its odd three knives were but into her belly, also the brother never got a extra would have been nice to find out if he also got his memory back or what happened after she was killed. But that could have ruined the story making it more dark so I think its fine.

Not sure why there are so many people bashing this one. I read a lot of these stories and this one pretty much just fits the cookie cutter of a returner novel. Nothing ground breaking sure but it wasn’t horribly written just predictable, but at this point if you’ve read one returner novel you be them all.

One of well written novel translated by Kitty Jiu. I like how this transmigrated story evolved, but it somehow lacked deep feelings. I didn't feel any special from this novel. It's well written but it left you with so-so.

The ending is not well executed. I felt like it can be written more. But I like the Extra chapters. 😊

very nice read, there wasnt any drama concerning MC and ml's relationship. Both of them are calm and collected persons, and I think they suit each other very much. The ending was very interesting, how the original host had a rebirth again, but how shes in control this time. There wasnt much ups and downs, simple but refreshing.

This story was a quick calm read. Both the MC and ML are strong characters so there isn't any over dramatic drama. The original FL wasn't entirely a bad person, she was just very used to getting her way and her family's little princess. MC doesn't focus on revenge and just cuts ties with the FL and the originals ex-husband. The ML is a bit overbearing but the MC has a strong enough personality that she isn't steamrolled by him. The loose ends of some of the characters are tied... more>> up by the extra.

This story is perfect if you want a quick read you can just jump into, and the translator does great job as well. <<less
