Gu Jin, your average day-to-day worker, crossed into a novel as the supporting character and best friend and cousin of the female protagonist, Cheng Xin, who was frequently surrounded by men of status and quality. The two cousins believed they’d enjoy this friendship for a lifetime.

But soon, Gu Jin discovered that the body she had crossed into had memories of future events beyond the novel’s plot, including finding out that her marriage would end in utter failure. Her husband, the second male lead named Shao Chong, would neglect their marriage because of his infatuation for Cheng Xin. On the day that Gu Jin was kidnapped and beaten to death, her good husband stayed by her cousin’s side and accompanied her to the hospital.

When Gu Jin transmigrated into this novel world and learned of the truth, she refused to waste this new life as a supporting role for her cousin the way the previous soul had done. She refused to live her life as a spectator in someone else’s love story. No. She would be the protagonist of her own romance in this new life.

It’s fine. I thought it would be bad based on some reviews but it was suprisingly okay. It’s a good read if you wanna pass time without being frustrated by unnecessary angst or drama. This deserves a higher rating than what it has now. Go read this now~

I didn't know this novel have so many bad reviews. Honestly, the first time I read this, I was having a dilemma. But as I go on, it became somewaht interesting. And now I'm rereading it because I forgot to write a review.

I understand though, since ML did mol*st the FL. I also really hate Shao Chong. I absolutely despise his selfish wholebeing more than the ML. Because, if you compared the two, ML is better than Shao Chong. But if we can choose who is better for the FL,... more>> I'd choose the third male lead.

FL is a strong female lead.

It is a cliché, and cliché stories are pretty entertaining.

And the ending is the best.

I just hope that others will take time to read this up to the ending. <<less

I expected something different from the description. The supposedly "FL" and "ML" of this story (I didn't mean the actual ones like Gu Jin) are just a "side story". Only in the beginning they are heavily involved, but later the story focuses on Gu Jin and the actual ML.

So the premise is just the opener for the story. Okay, Shao Chong appears more often, but only for a short period of time later on.

I liked everything involved with the premise, but everything else was kind of average.

Also, as you see... more>> in the 1 and 2 star reviews, the actual ML is a little bit forceful, but he wouldn't do anything that crosses the line. Yeah he is a little bit overbearing, but the FL teaches him some lessons later on ;D

So this story isn't something I would necessarily recommend to feminists or really soft people, who take everything 100% seriously and are offended by every little thing.

Otherwise this would result in more 1 star reviews, but for everyone else give this a try. <<less

It's sweet and light read, simple but not s*upid. Characters also acts smart so it's good read. What I am not too happy about - questionable behavior of ML, mainly his near-rapey acts. But overall it's good.

The ending was really abrupt, I didn’t really expect for the story to end that way. I mean I was really satisfied with the ending CHAPTER, but the end in itself was just really fast. I felt like they could’ve done more chapters and added more characters to make the plot more interesting. However, I’m really happy that both the FML and ML are happy together with the their child. 8/10 would love to read again, but I just hope there were more chapters.

I'm glad I gave it a try. Giving a 5 star to off set all theblow star ratings but it was me I would give around 3 stars. It's not bad. It's good but it's not something new either. It has a weird pace because sometimes it would be slow then fast. It ended ubruptly but the author did tie a few loose ends.

No r*pe. The ML isn't too overbearing.

There's just something about the ML that I don't like. I liked this initially, until I met the ML.

Transmigration novel... where the original FL was just a wallpaper compared to her cousin. It had the premises that I wanted... vengeance. Girl getting a spine. Then we meet the ML... he's a bit creepy. He's way older than her and way more powerful. wtf does he feel like he needs to date a student??? Because she's pretty? because she kneed him? She's not the only pretty girl in the world... get... more>> someone your own age! I feel like the power balance is way too much. And wtf did she agree to be his gf? because he's handsome? He's so creepy... I mean she agreed so readily after she was...
Spoiler

assaulted by him.

I'm getting harem vibes too. For some reason, even though she looks exactly like the original person, everyone starts being attracted to her (from her inner glow or something. it wasn't even her change in character).

And... the original FL (her cousin) seems like a whiny brat. Gah. The only one I think I like in this so far is her brother. <<less

Idk what other people are complaining about tbh. I personally like it a lot. There isn't a lot of fluff and it isn't the type of love that burns you out but the type that sneaks up on you when you get to know the person you are with. I liked it as I could relate more to this than others and wasn't overbearing. LOVE ML.

Would read again :D Love Kitty's translations

Yeah... I stopped reading after seeing how the family treats Gu Ling like she's supposed to be grateful she's adopted, but they know damn well the inequalities she faces living in the country and get mad that's she's (justifiably, I think) resentful. Oh and the constant ragging by the brother that she's not on the family register. Mmmhmm.

And yes, it's creepy that the ML keeps the jade bracelet. He should know he's in the wrong for sexually assaulting someone, even under the influence. Y U mad bro that she kicked... more>> U in the nuts?

Meh, I like that Gu Jin is just trying to make do, but darned if she didn't transmigrate into a shitty novel to begin with. <<less

Surprisingly, this is rated only 3 stars. I really enjoyed this novel and translation. I think it deserves a better rating. The main character Gu Jin was very likable. Some parts were very moving and I cried a few times. I recommend this to anyone who likes transmigration novels in modern settings and smart main characters.

A semi-long completely translated novel that you can read leisurely.

I will caution you not to put any high expectations on it because the author will drag you in but loses your emotional investment halfway, as you can attest to other reviewers. Why? The author introduces some promising scenes then leaves you with the aftertaste of questioning whether the whole thing was following any (good) plot or the ending was just rushed to conclude the novel.

The translator team is good with minor grammatical errors. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if many of... more>> those glaring errors were due to how the author wrote the scenes creatively but caused some confusion. Many orbital characters were also abandoned to the side without a good resolution. <<less

Hmmm let's see.. I loved the MC at times but then like I didn't really care anymore, it was like I already saw coming the ending and at times the arrogance of the male lead poked my nerves but not so much to say I hate him, in fact I think I quite liked him in comparation to jang hao or jing hao? I don't know and shao chong.

AH and the end of gu jin's cousin (chensomething xin) and shao chong left me like... heheheh you deserved it YOU DESERVED... more>> IT shameless scoundrels HEHEHE. And I didn't see coming the actions the hao guy took, like omg D.D it surprised me but I didn't feel pity. You reap what you sow.

I loved that the other soul found her happy ending though :) <<less

It's really good story I really enjoyed it. But why did the author ended it quickly.I really wish If there were some extra scene's between family especially between sh teng and MC and his scene's with their child. But I really liked this story. But the last chapter is not satisfying bcz if gu Jin reborn twice then what happened to other gu Jin and the entire story

I am writing this review after reading the novel twice.

It has that usual overbearing CEO, rich family, drugged ML and every other trope that these kinds of novels include.

But the refreshing point (for me at least) was that the story didn't chew my time out. Everything was sorted out pretty quick. One won't have to spend too many brain cells hating certain characters.

... more>> The MC was a fresh change of pace for me. I could relate to her logic and thought processes.

As for the ML, he is the typical 'I always have my way' person. There's no way of changing that kind of attitude.

All in all I loved the story, it's characters, the translation and the closure that everyone of them got. <<less

The translation was very good. I always love the translator translation and have been reading most of the novels she translated.

Story-wise, it was an interesting one but the ending was quite abrupt. I did enjoy reading this novel tho. It started pretty great and promising but soon it got a bit draggy and boring. Even the ending wasn't that satisfying for me.

A good story but with inconsistencies, the FL was cool and endearing and I liked her way of thinking. The ML was the cliché of the overbearing CEO but it was ok. The problem is that elements came out of nowhere, such as why the ML fell in love.

Short entertaining reading. Every aspect of the plot is great. But the part that got me the most is where we finally got to see what happened to the real Gu Jin in her previous live...

I'm glad that in the end the real Gu Jin got a chance to re-live her life and can chase the happiness she deserved :")

I finished this story in one sitting. I couldn't put it down. The story is standard at beast and the romance is typical.

For the readers who just focused on the 'mol*sting' part, I think it's a bit unfair if you don't read the whole story and comments like those are a bit misleading. First, there was no 'mol*sting', that encounter needed to happen to set off their story which apparently in this transmigration was not on the original. It was a bit off putting, yes, but story-wise that encounter was... more>> one way to go about it.

Anyhow, this is a good story to read when you need something simple and easy to read. It won't make you feel attached but it'll do the trick to stave boredom.",) <<less
