I have to disagree pretty heavily with the previous review... I mean, it's a novel that has "eroge" right in the title so if you are thoroughly disappointed that the ML is acting like, y'know, an eroge ML then.. I don't know how to help you. The author sets up pretty quickly what kind of story this is (the prologue literally opens the novel with dub-con smut!) so I'm surprised anyone could get past the first 4 sentences and think it was supposed to be plot-focused. Nothing about the plot/characterizations... more>> is really outlandish or "s*upid" either if you actually consider the genre of games that the author is referencing -- both the novel title and synopsis explicitly tell you that this is going to be another isekai setting where the hero is dropped in a fantasy world except this one is literally inside a het hentai game, so I would think most readers would be expecting the writing to mimic hentai logic and language to some degree. Complaining that the characters are too pe*verted when the setting is a hentai game world feels pretty silly, like ordering a rib-eye steak and complaining that you were served meat when you're a vegetarian.

I think the smut is actually really enjoyable to read through because even if their first s*xual encounter starts with dub-con, there's a lot of internal dialogue from the MC about how much he enjoys the feeling so it doesn't feel gross and forcible. It quickly becomes apparent, too, how much the ML loves Zagan and only Zagan so I didn't really think of him as a s*um stallion... a little bland and underdeveloped, maybe, since his only defining feature is really "loves Zagan" (but again, eroge setting so I wasn't expecting some groundbreakingly complex and nuanced ML).

Surprisingly, I genuinely enjoy the world building in this novel, with the different attributes and the mystery of what happened between the three gods. As the novel progresses, the smut slows down a little bit and I find myself more invested in the actual plot of the story (which starts out pretty thin, understandably).

Because of the somewhat carefree pacing where it's not super tightly structured, this has become a comfort read for me where I'll read 2-3 ch. every day or two. It's not a gripping read where you binge and desperately need to know what happens, but it's fun as a lighter fluffier story with some pretty well done smut. <<less

Once you get a little further in and realise the above, the actions the ML chooses to take in the prologue (which loops back around after a few chapters) make a lot more sense.

Effectively, Zagan was on death's door and Luca was desperate to keep him alive at that point. He didn't exactly have time to ask first since Zagan wasn't conscious and afterwards Zagan was quite grateful to Luca for saving his life.

While I'm reading this story, Luca (ML) comes across as being utterly devoted to Zagan to the point of having no interest in what would have been his harem of girls in the original game. Where I'm currently at (around chapter 46) they're constantly flirting with each other and if something bothers one of them they actually talk to the other one about it. It's so nice to see communication happening instead of misunderstandings getting blown out of proportion.

Also, yes the prologue is dub-con, but outside of one other situation so far where

Luca is very much about consent. The author clearly likes kinky stuff, but the really kinky stuff is generally kept to side stories and can be ignored if you're more after vanilla stuff.

I could see an argument for the r*pe tag from the perspective of the "original game" this story is based on is not a nice one and when Zagan talks about "original events" in the game, there are several mentions of r*pe. Thankfully the Zagan of this story is not interested in taking that path.

Maybe I'm seeing this in a different light because I've re-read it 5 or 6 times now? I don't know if that would change the way one sees this story or not, but I just felt like getting my thoughts on this one documented because I really don't see this story the way most of the negative reviews paint it.

I will certainly circle back if things change, but as it stands this story is a 5 star for me. <<less

I wasn't expecting much... but I like it... a lot.

The MC, takes the role of 'Zagan' who is originally supposed to be a villain. The current Zagan is someone... who is not really a villain. He's supposed to be scary and intimidating. Dark and edgy. Feared for his dark magic. Zagan however, really seems to love animals, going so far as to follow the ML, Luca, whenever he does a commission that involves animals. Well, since he's already here he might as well, pet them, right?

... what is this... more>> gap moe??? Isn't he supposed to be scary and intimidating???? I can totally see where Luca is coming from when he says that Zagan is too cute. This guy... this S-rank adventurer, feared user of dark magic, isn't he way too cute?!

Ah, unfortunately I am very biased towards Zagan, so as long as Zagan remains in the story, I will keep reading it.

Plot? What's that? Is it something I can eat? Their first *** scene is dub-con and Zagan accepts it as it is. He... really doesn't try to reject any of Luca's advances. Isn't that dangerous? He's trying to take advantage of you, shouldn't you say something?

Luca too, isn't it dangerous for you to be seen with a dark mage? Are you not afraid of anything?? His dirty talk is also... way too much. Yeah, this guy. He's a pe*vert. As expected of an eroge protagonist.

Contrary to my expectations, there is no harem for the ML despite it being based on an eroge. Which is good for me. I was really dreading it. He's just too in love with Zagan. It's actually very cute how much he loves him.

Well, I like it a lot. Don't go into this novel expecting any plot or you will be disappointed. But if you're looking for *** and a very cute MC who is also a little overpowered and a very doting ML, then this is perfect. <<less

Smut novel, thought it was plot focused 😅 the story is okay. Probably, I'm not good with Japanese yaoi novel because the MC is timid and s*upid. He only cried when he felt humiliated in the 4th s*x (c16). I also dislike the pe*verted ML. The ML looks like a s*um stallion, forcing (raping) the MC while the MC is unconscious to transfer power. Of all thing for power recovery, really doing s*x to unconscious person. Take note that MC is not in life threatening condition. This is so s*upid... more>> 😅

Whereas the MC accepted it when he woke up. Really s*upid 😅 MC as a straight in past easily accepted to be f*cked by man. -Sigh-

Anyway, 2 stars for the smut scene only. <<less

I came because of the reviews, expecting a smut fest...

I was wrong.

Even though it has smut, it is not the central point of the novel and it actually has a plot that it's actually relevant in the whole situation the characters are in. I'm really interested in what happened in the country that made it be in the state that is in, and is highly possible there is a complot of sorts.

The characters have personalities that feel pretty much what you'll expect of a harem anime or game, and since... more>> the novel is from the point of view of the MC, at first glance it appears as if they're rather one dimensional; however, when you consider everything and when the MC begins interacting more with the others, their personal traits begin to appear and you see their personalities shining more. The ML is what you'll expect of an eroge protagonist; pe*verted, dirty talked, but terribly in love with the MC. At the beginning I was doubting a bit of his real feelings, but the more I read, the more he proved that the guy is deeply in love with the MC, and doesn't want anyone but him, to the point where he would be cruel to others if they antagonize the MC.

Really expecting what would happen next and will come back to edit as it advances. I DON'T THINK I CAN WAIT WEEK AFTER WEEK FOR AN UPDATE, I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED!! <<less

The story has a decent plot that makes you want to keep reading, which is a huge plus for me someone who gets bored with stories easily. The MC is OP from the start and not in an annoying way, he looks at things rationally and is pretty smart! The ML is doting but his libido is super high (where the dubcon comes in,) I wouldn't say it's r*pe per se, but more of dubcon aka dubious consent, meaning your not sure if there's consent or not. Thankfully it's only... more>> one time. The ML is super understanding and doting when the MC tells him he's not sure if he loves him which is *chefs kiss* instead of forcing him like most Seme/Gong's do in R-18 novels. It's seriously a hidden gem among R-18 novels and well translated. I myself would give it a 4.5 out of 5.

Although I enjoy it take my review with a grain of salt if it's not for you, don't read it. <<less

This is a r*pe/smut/romance/adventure/fantasy/game world series with an interesting plot. None of it is unique or distinctive, but the fluff scenes are cute and endearing. I also really like the relationship between the siblings. There's not much detail or imagery to go into the world, so I suppose it's just a generic medieval fantasy setting. There are some interesting concepts, such as the magical motorcycle and lack of a moon. The romance features an unhealthy relationship.

The MC is a generic ultra submissive shou MC common to Japanese yaoi and shounen-ai.... more>> He likes animals. Even though he's OP, he stands down and apologizes unnecessarily over every little thing. Even when he's being r*ped, he refuses to fight back or defend himself. Instead, he only screams and begs before giving into the torture and surrendering to someone who's much weaker than he is. Even when he's loved ones are in grave danger, he refuses to kill any humans.

The ML is the generic domineering wealthy royalty who acts far more aggressively toward his lover than anyone should. No matter how much the MC begs and cries for him to stop raping, he doesn't care and continues, torturing someone he supposedly cares about for an indefinite amount of time. Not only is he sexually abusive, but he's also manipulative and emotionally abusive, refusing to let the MC have any privacy or his own personal thoughts. He doesn't respect his lover, even though his lover treats him well.

The other characters are quite bland. They include an ultra emotional transgender woman, a holy imouto, a darkness-attribute hater, a cook, an alchemist, and so on. The stereotypical imouto has a pure personality full of forgiveness and goodness. That said, she hasn't shown much depth so far, and all of the other side characters are completely flat, regardless of whether they're villains or team members.

The plot is somewhat interesting in that the truth about what's going on has been defiled, and the MC must uncover the truth to save the world. It's not the most creative plot, and I've seen similar ones several times before. That said, it's the best thing going for this story.

The ML first r*pes the MC in the prologue itself, so readers know what they're getting into when they start reading this series. I appreciate this acting as a warning as compared to having a relationship that looks healthy devolve into ab*se later on and kill the romance. The reasons for the ML raping the MC so far include saving the MC's life (the setting is based on an eroge), torturing the MC for information, screwing him just because he wants to (no matter how much the MC tells him no), and continuing to have s*x with the MC long after he passes out. If your lover is lying there like a dead fish or is unconscious, you are doing something wrong. Do you think he's enjoying that? Your lover is someone you're supposed to love, not someone whose body you use to vent your possessiveness and rage. An unconscious person cannot give consent, meaning there was no consent and the MC should have stopped. Furthermore, lovers don't have to share every detail about their lives or thoughts with the other person. You should not torture your lover, especially through r*pe. S*x is supposed to be something enjoyable between parties, not an event associated with trauma.

The romantic relationship is unhealthy through and through with the ML only caring about being possessive, forceful, and manipulative and the MC saying no but refusing to defend or stand up for himself. It's a sad relationship, and I can't enjoy the smut at all.

Be forewarned that the male g**italia are often referred to terms used for female g**italia as a means to demean the MC. No matter how much you ejaculate, your rectum will not become a womb.

You can avoid the smut and r*pe chapters by not using the link that goes to sites other than the main Watashi wa Sugoi Desu site. Unfortunately, the entire chapters are kept in the alternate link instead of only the s*x and r*pe scenes. If you want to avoid the s*x scenes, you still have to skim through them to get to the rest of the chapter.

Overall, this is a brainless lighthearted read with a lot of r*pe scenes. <<less

I was in for smut... I was so deep for the plot... And I didn't expect this novel would have emotional moments that makes me Emotionally Mess...!!!

This Novel has ABSOLUTELY EXTREMELY SMEXY SMUT!!! THE HOTTEST OF THE HOTTEST!!!

The plot is really good. Love the supportive characters who grown to be Friendly to MC and then Protective in dangerous situation.

This is a very enjoyable read. Although the ML’s dirty talk type was not quite my cup of a tea, his sincere feeling towards MC is very abundant, the MC character progress, the world building was quite detailed, the supporting characters were very likable.

i personally don’t quite like the term ‘shirimanko’, literally translated as ‘bu*t’ and woman’s private parts, personally just thinking why would you call a man’s parts as a woman’s parts. I think the ML always use this term when they did it. I’m not sure since up to c42, they did it every so often, probably around once every three chapters. And the ML is quite the typical eroge MC, how he’s almost constantly triggered (in se*ual sense) by MC.

There were causes for every phenomenon occurred. I’m quite surprised since eroge or otome ge type of novels quite often brushed off the ‘cause’ details as “it is the scenario, so that’s how it should have been”.

Despite this is based on eroge scenario, I enjoyed very much the ‘adventure part’ of the story. So if you’re considering whether to read it, try it! Honestly i’m reading this for its story rather than its smut, I personally think even if the smut is not as often as it is, it is a very enjoyable read already. <<less

Best jp novel based on eroge setting,

  • Very nice smut, well startly it has a setting where s*x can literally save lives so just some moments are dubcon, rest is very good even initiated by MC them he realises he loves ML after being alone for decades
  • ML is well very nice and MC deserves such caring person who will only love him
  • Such good plot and world building
  • Pretty fast paced, but it's pretty refreshing

The only reason why I at least one star is because of MC and overall storyline. I loved the way story goes and MC who is strong character expect when he is with ML, I feel like he drops his guards so much that it's feels weird and alarming to me. I got really bored.

It's pretty cliché and even though I've not looked at spoilers I can already guess where the story is headed.

The smut is not sexy at all. And it doesn't help that the smut at this point has lowkey been the same the whole time. Maybe this has something to do with the fact that it's a japanese book but the sfx are grating. Everytime the ML "fufufu"s during sexy time made me annoyed.

not a fan of the mature scenes but the plot is actually very enjoyable!! Well-written, good pacing, good world building and just enough mystery and hidden secrets of the world to keep things interesting but not confusing.

if you can stand the smut scenes. I heartily recommend it! &Lt;3

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel as a casual reader. The smut is good. The main characters are sweet and likable. I even enjoyed the quite convoluted worldbuilding (I might've enjoyed the worldbuilding more than the smut but that's because I'm a nerd)

I understand why some people might be disturbed by earlier events in the story but I really suggest new readers to give it a shot first. You might enjoy this novel as musch as I did.

However, I might not be able to finish this novel because, for a... more>> few months, I have been getting a 403 error message every time I tried to open the website. (This happens with every single page on Watashi wa Sugoi Desu's site but not others) I haven't seen anyone having the same problem but idk

All in all, good novel, great translation, but I'm sad I would likely never read the ending unless it gets licensed in my country lol <<less

I hate it..I hate the writing style it has no life to it, its like Zagan narrating to a journal writing his own story, super fast paced I guess to get to the smut, its like when your making up scenarios and your mind keeps jumping to the good part. This is unexpectedly plot focused and I like it. At first I was here for the smut but I stayed for the plot. Haha.

The characters are developing and they have some personality which is slowly but surely changing and developing.

Also the plot is actually relevant to the game story as well as their actual lives in the world so I'm actually interested in it.

I'd say it's doing great right now. So far it hasn't bored me yet.

this is very good, it starts out kinda weird and rushed and w/o dialogue but gets Tons better as it goes on, theres some dub/noncon stuff tho so be aware of that (the smut is primo besides those bits)

Pretty Good as long as you don't take it too seriously. Pretty intense first chapter but later on quite fluffy and soft with hints of plot development that might actually be interesting. (Don't quote menon that though HAHAHA)

Cute and sweet fantasy/adventurer/isekai BL once you get past the initial (⚠️TW) non/dub-con

The story's not bad, and the smut is nice. Zagan's (MC) character development is good so far, and Luca (ML) is starting to get more of a background.

If you're planning to read the machine translations, beware of the perspective and pronoun switching, it's very frequent during smut scenes.
