I've been enjoying the read, particularly the lil one's antics.

That said, the start was really rough and shaky to me. It pretty much ruins everything since it is also the main focus of the series.
Spoiler

The supposed to be goody two shoes guild just ignored and even hated someone in need cause they just couldn't help but be a failure--MC. Only help said guild did was try to teach MC like regular adventures but beyond that, they did nothing. They knew MC was struggling hard and was getting bullied but they did nothing about those, even mocked and looked down on the MC. They become actually nice once they find out MC is just a child and a irregular one after MC almost died btw. So, yeah, irksome. They couldn't, like, helped MC find a job or so that he could've actually done? Apparently not, not even being a simple porter of items but they just kept on judging him as a utter failure and baggage that no one wants to care for one bit until then.

[collapse]

Which brings me to the next thing that I wasn't so fond of, MCs slow development.

As others have mentioned, MCs misunderstanding trope runs for quit a long time. She also stays quite submissive and weak which was understandable at the start but with little to no development, it gets old and very frustrating especially in moments where she needs to stand up for herself and others.

Then there's the world building that I found messy, felt like the story was being railroad quite hard, given how the characters behaved and thought. The dungeon creation is also interesting but I didn't like the execution, it seemed all over the place for me. Would've been better to just stick to one genre, the staple fantasy one I think.
Spoiler

Supposed to have dungeons that can not only disrupt space but also time on top breaking dimensions which is exactly the MCs OG world--Zombie Apocalypse World that will appear as a dungeon later which somehow is supposed to get fixed and turn back time after being cleared as a dungeon to explore in MCs current world. There's also supposed to e dungeons that appear to tell tales but is not actually dangerous at all which is also directly tied to the Mc-- The one that summoned the MC to the new world was from said dungeon which also becomes part of the MCs family later on.

[collapse]

On that note, had fun but it was also rough.

This novel starts out strong, but doesn't really know its identity so it collapses upon itself.

The beginning is strong. I don't think it's terribly difficult to understand the formula for empathy, which is just make a very unfortunate child go through great misfortune, the fact that the novel can capture this level of empathy through the story, characters, and setting is still well made. The fact I felt bad for our MC and the guilt-ridden side characters are captured means the novel did a great job. The problem is after.

What... more>> is the novel even going for? Is it supposed to be a cute, fluffy slice of life? Maybe. There's a lot of scenes where it's just our MC acting cute. Or is it a sad misunderstanding type novel? Perhaps. There's constant scenes where the MC misunderstands others' intentions as hostile or Yerin just freaks out at a random comment that the MC throws out. Is it a dungeon/fantasy type novel? It could be, there's always dungeons on the horizon that adventurers try to conquer in the background setting of the novel. Could it be a school-type novel? Our MC does eventually go to some sort of learning institute.

It's just too many genres. Please stick to one. It would have been great to see just our MC struggling to survive picking bottles while making friends. Or it would have been great for our MC to get saved by the guild and live a fluffy life maybe. So on and so forth. Why do you have to just mush together all these themes into one novel? It's disorganized. It feels like I'm reading different genres constantly. Each theme is just overused settings or jokes already told in a different form. Why talk about dungeons, mana, and fights when the other 80% of the novel is just our MC planting herbs and talking to people? It doesn't make sense. <<less

Some of these reviews from before I read this in the beginning of the year made me confused about how the story would be, but after trying it this has quickly become one of my favorite webnovels. Overall its a funny misunderstanding novel with a cute MC who anyone would do anything for if she so much as tilted her head at them, but of course she has a few misunderstandings and fears.

(Edit) Please give this at least 10 chapters to try it and I'm sure you'll find the... more>> novel just as entertaining as I do. <<less

This Book is pretty neat its half decent at writing children like characters and that is the main focus and premise almost. It falls flat on worldbuilding and overall plot as the book meanders quite a bit folding in on itself quite often. It also fell off quickly falling into misunderstanding comedy making everyone be simply flabbergasted and shocked at almost everything the character says without adding too much. It almost felt like the author was trapped in the premise they created.

The interesting thing that I liked the most was... more>> the idea of the beast-men treatment that allows the character to survive her ab*se at the beginning. But really they don't lean into it all that much. They kinda focused on making the story as cute as they can possible make it damn the consequences. And that leads to the story being very one note as most elements start to get glazed over in favor of cute things. The adventuring side is almost nonexistent. The money making side is simplistic and usually glossed over (they are kinda just collecting bottles and they are still doing that for some odd reason. Even if they make a shop or sell tea or do anything else.) And the worldbuilding relies heavily on you almost inherently understanding what a stereotypical Korean modern fantasy is. Making the story almost kinda confusing as to what type of world it even is or where the character even comes from at points.

Character development is almost nonexistent for the main character the side characters grow somewhat. The main Character is that sorta mary sue type that is "Good" that's what she is, that's what her character is. Its Just Good. She is just the bestest of the bestest the sweetest of the angels. And everything changes based on how people perceive her or just her basic existence. And well as one of those types she is well written in that aspect the characters grow in interesting ways around her and is prob one of the most interesting parts. The plot and the overall world isn't the focus its the characters and I do say having the worldbuilding support this (although this was quite late into my reading) through things like how emotions create dungeons was neat.

My main issue is kinda hammering of these changes throughout the novel. Its a slow burn novel so the changes are just hammered and hammered. We get the same plot detail looked over and looked over and things like the misunderstanding aspect and the overexaggerated nature of how the characters see their own "sins" of sorts just push the quality of these things down by a few notches.

Despite how negative I am with this I will give it a 3 mostly because even I can explain a lot of the bad its mostly just hard to explain the good. They are doing good emotional character work might be the best way to describe it. But the bad puts it into that sorta mixed category where its not mediocre its just very good and very bad at the same time. Its an annoying novel. Even for a mary sue like novel where being a bit whimsical is common its a bit too whimsical to the point of being terrible. But the mary sue itself is well written enough to be neat and have a lot of neat character moments. So its in an annoying spot, hence, the general feeling the author doesn't really know where to take it at points. Its prob the better kinda 3 tbh though, Schizo 3 rather than mediocre 3. <<less

The story is great, there’s a lot of fluffy and adorable moments, but also quite a number of mysteries and bittersweet moments as well. It’s mostly just a sweet, comedy about a poor beast child trying to live their life, and being taken care of by a guild and the towns people, ensued by numerous misunderstandings and shenanigans, a bit of action sprinkled in, but it’s really small.

Spoiler

My only gripe at this point of the story is the lack of common sense from the main protagonist every now and then, but it is being addressed in the story itself, and considering their background or at least what we have of it so far, I’ll let it pass for now.

[collapse]

A lot of the other review’s problems and complaints are brought to light further into the story. I’d suggest reading this if slower and fluffy child care, misunderstandings and comedy is your taste. <<less

It wasn't logical at first, but I persisted after reading the other reviews, and it ended up being such a fluff! Ah! How my heart gets healed! How my eyes teared up at every mention of the MC's trauma! The world background is set in a modern fantasy theme, but it wasn't explained much because the focus is on the main character herself.

The MC's character itself is set to be a saint, forgiving those who wronged her, never resenting. Maybe because she's busy surviving that she doesn't have the energy... more>> to resent? It's also a plus that the MC became a cat beast kin, coz I'm pretty much a cat person. Loves cats, those adorable masters. The MC is someone who dislikes owing favors, stubborn in her ways, that the guild members and others are having trouble trying to offer her things that a kid should enjoy. The narration of the MC's thoughts had a slight shift during the chapters, signifying her initial wariness and distrust into finally opening up bit by bit towards other people.

I'm going to sit still and wait for the translated chapters. I have a lot of time. Really. Well, let's refresh the page once more to see if there's an update today. <<less

There are quite some plot holes in the story. Also, this is what others call "turn off your brain" novel. If you are nitpicky with the smallest details, I don't think this is for you. But the story is very enjoyable. I even temporarily stopped reading other novels just to catch up on this one.

The main good point of the story is how it was presented. This is a slice-of-life genre, but the pacing of the story is good. I don't feel it as rushed or trying to stall it.... more>> The story has a great amount of fluff to make you smile, but at the same time, has huge amount of onions to make you cry.

Verdict: This is a good novel to pick up if you are tired with all the fighting/revenge genre <<less

This novel is pretty good so far, it contains the strangest combination of fluff and heartbreaking. My only critique would be that it sometimes gets repetitive. This novel is slice of life with a bit of action where the MC begins to like and understand other people.

Super cute, but you have to get though the initial chapters of some depressing stuff, but otherwise, a great read! Chapters come out around 5-6 per week, and MC may be a bit childish at times. Super cute 100% will recommend to you.

I like the story premise and overall flow but almost all characters are characters-function without deep depth. Aside MC we do not see anything that would prperly explain their motives (outside your basic pity).

MC did choose the dangerous job, however the author tried to justify it. Advenuring doesn't require ID it seems. Menial jobs require strength and endurance (which MC lacks due Mana issues), more sophisticated work would likely require credentials...
